Abstract:
Morphology and localization of the trichomes on vegetative and reproductive organs of Ajuga orientalis L. from Turkey were investigated. Peltate, capitate glandular and non-glandular trichomes were found on the stem, leaf, petiole, calyx and corolla surfaces of A. orientalis. Three sub-types of capitate glandular trichomes were found whereas two sub-types of non-glandular ones were stated on the several organs of A. orientalis. Glandular trichomes were mainly observed on calyx and corolla, but non-glandular ones were found on the stem, leaf surface and petiole. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/b

The onset and end of the seasons, maximum concentrations, annual sums, and the number of days with an allergy risk were determined. Additionally, the types of trichomes present on different parts of Ambrosia artemisiifolia L. shoots were determined using light microscopy. The paper presents data on the histological structure of the gastrointestinal tract of the Mute swan (Cygnus olor). When studying the architectonics of the stomach of a swan, it was found that the wall of its glandular and muscular sections consists of 3 membranes – mucous, muscular and serous. At the same time, the mucous membrane of the glandular stomach is thick-walled, with a high density of excretory ducts of complex gastric glands per conventional unit of area. It has been established that the muscular plate of the mucous membrane of the wall of the glandular stomach is fragmented and it

The protective and defensive roles of these epidermal appendages are crucial to developing organs and can be attributed to the excellent combination of suitable structural traits and chemical reinforcement in the form of phenolic compounds, primarily flavonoids. Both the formation of trichomes and the accumulation of phenolics are interrelated at the molecular level. Recent advances link chronic inflammation with SG fibrosis, based on a molecular mechanism pointing to the epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT).
