The paper presents the electrochemical performance of supercapacitor with glass wool separator under organic electrolyte of tetraethylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TEABF4). The performance was evaluated using symmetrical two-electrode system and compared to an identical supercapacitor with commercially available cellulose paper separator under 1 M TEABF4. The application of glass wool separator reduces the bulk resistance of supercapacitor by 19.6%, promotes more efficient ions transfer across active surface of electrode and significantly improves specific capacitance by 19.1% compared to cellul

Two techniques of sperm concentration (centrifugation or filtering) and sperm separation technique with glass wool were applied to the sperm samples collected from 3 pony stallions (6 ejaculates; 2 from each stallion). Ejaculates were extended to a final concentration of 50 × 106 spermatozoa mL–1 using a nonfat dry milk-based extender and evaluations occurred at 24, 48, and 72 h after immediate ejaculate dilution and cooling. Each stallion was considered as a block, and semen from each stallion was assigned to 4 treatments: Group A (control): extended semen alone; Group B: extended-centrifuged

Abstract This study investigated the effect of glass wool and Sephadex separation techniques on improving the poor semen quality of buffalo bulls. Semen had divided into four groups. The first and second groups used good (G1, positive control) and poor-quality semen (G2, negative control). Glass wool (G3) and Sephadex (G4) techniques had used to separate the poor semen quality in the 3rd-4th groups, respectively. The sperm concentration and total abnormalities were lower in the G3 and G4 groups than in the G2 group. Motility increased in the G4 group compared to the G2 group. Live sperm, norma

Rapid increase in different types of hazardous waste due to continuous economic growth, industrialization and urbanization is becoming a major problem for government to ensure effective and sustainable waste management. The transport, separation, handling and discarding of wastes needs to be properly managed without affecting the environmental health. At present, there is no such system of separation of dry, wet and metallic wastes. This process proposes an Automated Waste Separator (AWS) which is a simple and economical separation system for domestic purpose in the most economical and effecti

Mimicking the topographic structures and designs of living surfaces (e.g., lotus leaf, pitcher plant and beetle) onto the non-living surfaces (e.g., metallic plates, glass wafers, wood and fabrics) is known as bioinspiration. Consequently, the pristine topography of the non-living surfaces is robustly modified, known as bioinspired smart surfaces, providing novel surface regimes, i.e., wetting regimes and droplet dynamic regimes. Herein, factors affecting the droplet dynamics and its applications in bioinspired smart surfaces are presented. The droplet dynamics is a complicated phenomenon bein

Much construction scrap is discharged when a dwelling or a building are disassembled. Wood is tipped. Concrete is recycled to new object for concretes, the aggregate for pavement, etc. Glass is classified and crushed, and is recycled by the materials of the glass called cullet. However, in fact, only rough classifying was performed, a little construction scrap is recycled and many materials have been disposed by reclamation. In order to raise the rate of recycling of glass, it not only raises the rate of classify at the disassembling, but it is necessity of also processing to a cullet. On a gl

The simulated triple vacuum glazing consists of three, 4 mm thick glass panes with two vacuum gaps with each internal glass surface coated with a low emittance coating. The two vacuum gaps are sealed by an indium based sealant and separated by a stainless steel pillar array with a height of 0.12 mm and a pillar diameter of 0.3 mm spaced at 25 mm. Both solder glass and indium based sealants have been successfully applied in vacuum glazing previously. The thermal performance of the triple vacuum glazing was simulated using a finite volume model. The simulation results show that although the ther
