IntroductionThe incidence of HIV infection is rising in Ireland, reaching a rate of 10.6/100,000 people in 2015. MSM is the most common route of transmission, reported as 50.9% of new diagnoses. There is a comparative surge in requests for HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) in Gay Men’s Health Services (GMHS), Dublin: 44% increase in 2016, vs. 2015. In 2016, a PEP proforma was devised for consistent clinical assessment of PEP requests and decisions.MethodsWe performed a retrospective review of all PEP requests from June-December 2016, following the introduction of this proforma. At the core of any effort by a nation state to regulate new technologies for public release is an implicit navigation of uncertainty. The case of Bt cotton in India presents a very timely and pragmatic example of how nation states grapple with uncertainty in a regulatory context. In practice, it is often these parties that drive regulation as a process. The question is how. This paper outlines the findings of fie

However, it is complicated to analyze the relationship among GMMs since they lie on a high-dimensional manifold. Abstract:
The purpose of this report is to provide a set of ground motion models (GMMs) to be considered by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) for their National Seismic Hazard Maps (NSHMs) for the Central and Eastern U.S. (CEUS). These interim GMMs are adjusted and modified from a set of preliminary models developed as part of the Next Generation Attenuation for Central and Eastern North-America (CENA) project (NGA-East). The NGA-East objective was to develop a new ground-motion characterization (GMC) model for the CENA region. The GMC model consists of a set of GMMs for median and standard deviation of

Abstract:
A set of global and region-specific ground-motion models (GMMs) for subduction zone earthquakes is developed based on the database compiled by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER) Next Generation Attenuation - Subduction (NGA-SUB) project. The subset of the NGA-SUB database used to develop the GMMs includes 3914 recordings from 113 subduction interface earthquakes with magnitudes varying between 5 and 9.2 and 4850 recordings from 89 intraslab events with magnitudes varying between 5 and 7.8. Recordings in the back-arc region are excluded, except for the Cascadia region. Th

Abstract:
Agriculture creates a sense of commonality and connection among the countries of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS); however, its contribution to regional economies varies, being huge in Laos and Cambodia and much smaller in China, Thailand, and Vietnam. This paper summarises and synthesises the five country case studies, undertaken by the GMS Development Analysis Network (now GMS-Net), which aim to build knowledge on the availability, quality and exchange of information related to agricultural production and trade, particularly in relation to cassava and rubber.

Abstract:
There is growing interest in promoting cooperation in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), comprising Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Yunnan province of China, where socioeconomic development varies widely between countries. Job creation in the worse-off countries does not keep pace with increases in the labour force. Due to the higher wages in Thailand and lack of year round farming in Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, millions of people venture over the border to work in Thailand. This report by the GMS-Development Analysis Network (now GMS-Net) tries to address the information gap r
