Abstract:
A vibrating fluidized bed reactor was constructed and interfaced with the High-Flux Solar Furnace at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, CO. Various precursor mixtures of aluminum and aluminum nitride were heated for approximately 10 to 15 minutes using focused sunlight with an intensity as high as 2000 kW/m2. Particles ranging in size from 2 μm to 10 μm were produced with the heating and fluidization process. X-ray diffraction and chemical composition analyses of the product indicate virtually complete conversion of aluminum to aluminum nitride for some precursor mixtures. Hig

Since ancient times, gold has been used due to its especial properties. Among those properties are the resistance to corrosion (for being noble), its high electrical and thermal conductivity, and also its conspicuous coloration. Gold has been applied in a diversity of subjects such as economy, jewelry, electronic circuits and odontology. The fascinating properties of gold are likely to improve with the preparation of alloys; among those, the Au-Fe alloys constitute some of the most studied nowadays. The conceptual basis of the work was the myth of Sophia Wisdom Divine, an artist painting the primary blueprint of the universe and inviting other artists to co-create (the muse and the artist). Introduction The farm animal sanctuary movement is a response to industrial livestock agriculture. Farm sanctuaries are spaces where formerly farmed animals are housed and taken under the sanctuaries’ care. Farm animal sanctuaries are different from other types of animal shelters (e.g. wildlife sanctuaries and pet shelters) in that they specialise in rescuing animals that were bred for the livestock agricultural sector. These spaces are positioned as more-than-human worlds in this article. Positioning farms and sanctuaries as worlds opens the perspective that both are examples of world-buildin
