Objective. We present our experience in diagnosing, gender assignment, and surgical management of sexual ambiguity in 46,XY mixed gonadal dysgenesis. Material and methods. A retrospective study of five cases treated from 2003 to 2006 was performed. Clinical picture, operative findings, testosterone levels, and immunohistochemistry of gonads for the expression of FOXL2, SOX9, AMH, AMHr, C-kit, and PLAP were analyzed. Results. All patients had ambiguous genitalia, urogenital sinus, uterus, testicle on one side, and a streak gonad on the other. Four patients were reared as male and one as female.

In the lower Dniester, polyploid females of the hybrid complex Cobitis taenia are a portion spawning species with asynchronous development of germ cells during the entire breeding period. The spawning season in this water basin begins in the second decade of May and ends in July. In the population, in parallel with females, hermaphrodite individuals are also present, in which the ovary zone is functional, and the testis zone is sterile. A decrease in the relative mass of the gonads of subsequent generations was noted, which leads to a consistent decrease in the value of the gonadosomatic index

The black carp (bc)GtH IIb cDNA was amplified and isolated, cloned and sequenced. Comparison of the bcGtH IIb deduced a.a. sequence with that of GtH IIb from other teleosts revealed high homology to cyprinid species and a lower homology to salmonid or perciform fish. The gene coding for the GtH IIb was isolated and sequenced. Three bc recombinant phages which hybridized to the goldfish GtH Ib cDNA probe were isolated and are currently being characterized. หอยทรายมีพิษ (Asaphis violascens) จากเกาะสีชังได้ถูกนำมาแยกเนื้อแบคทีเรียที่สร้างสารกีดขวางช่องโซเดียม โดยเก็บตัวอย่างใน 2 ระยะเวลาคือ ระยะพิษสูง (มกราคมถึงมิถุนายน) และระยะพิษต่ำ (กรกฎาคมถึงธันวาคม) ได้แยกเชื้อแบคทีเรียจากอวัยวะต่างๆ 7 ส่วนของหอยทรายคือ siphon, mantle, foot, gill, gonad, hepatopancreas และ stomach แล้วคัดแยกเชื้อที่สร้างสารกีดขวางช่องโซเดียมโดยใช้วิธี tissue culture assay พบว่าจำนวนเชื้อที่สร้างสารพิษในหอยทรายและบริเวณที่เก็บตัวอย่างในระยะพิษสูงจะมีถึง 25% (19 ชนิดจากทั้งหมด 76 ชนิดที่แยกได้) แต่จำนวนเชื้อนี้ในตัวอย่างที่เก็บในระยะพิษต่ำมีเพียง 5.6% (5 ชนิดจากทั้งหมด 89 ชนิดท
