Abstract:
This paper aims to elucidate the formation and transmission of calligraphy within the Goryeong Shin Family, with a focus on Shin Gong-je as the central figure. It explores the specific content and influence of academic pursuits and calligraphy among previous generations, as well as the process and significance of their transmission to subsequent generations. In the social context of the Joseon Dynasty, where communal consciousness within clans and social recognition were paramount, maintaining academic traditions and transmitting them to posterity through means such as legal text compilations were vital tasks for enhancing the family's status and reputation, as well as for practicing Confucian filial piety. These actions served as significant driving forces, leading to the diverse development of Joseon calligraphy culture. The Goryeong Shin Family, as one of the families engaged in calligraphy activities, demonstrates a clear lineage and influence, supported by numerous records regarding the transmission and impact of their calligraphy. The lineage and academic pursuits of the Goryeong Shin Family began with Shin Deok-rin and continued through his son, Shin Po-si, and grandson, Shin Jang. These individuals were proficient in calligraphy, with both Shin Deok-rin and Shin Jang having their calligraphy documented in historical records. Their lineage naturally transitioned to Shin Suk-ju and Shin Mal-ju, who displayed similarities or even greater maturity in their calligraphy compared to their predecessors. Furthermore, Shin Suk-ju's transmission of Shin Jang's calligraphy to his son marked the evolution of the lineage into a complete academic tradition. Subsequently, an analysis was conducted on Shin Gong-je's calligraphy and the compilation of the “Haedong Myeongjeok”. Like his predecessors, Shin Gong-je learned and respected the calligraphy traditions of previous generations, compiling the “Haedong Myeongjeok” to perpetuate the Goryeong Shin Family's calligraphy and honor the calligraphic achievements of his ancestors. Following him, figures such as Shin Jam, Shin Dam, Shin Heop, Shin Geuk-cheong, Shin Sok, and Shin Il-cheong continued calligraphy activities, maintaining the lineage and academic pursuits. Through records of previous generations' calligraphy learning, the specific content and significance were confirmed. Finally, it is emphasized that research addressing gaps or approaching the essence and development of Joseon calligraphy culture from the perspectives of academic pursuits and transmission should continue persistently.

Abstract:
As global warming accelerates in recent years, the frequency of droughts has increased and water management at the national level has become very important. In particular, accurate understanding and management of the forest is essential as the water storage capacity of forest is determined by forest structure. Typically, data on forest vertical structure have been constructed from field surveys that are both costly and time-consuming. In addition, machine learning techniques could be applied to analyze, classify, and predict the uncertainties of internal structures in forest. Therefore, this study aims to map the forest vertical structure for estimating forest water storage capacity from multi-seasonal optical satellite image and topographic data using artificial neural network (ANN) in Gongju-si, South Korea. For this purpose, the 14 input neurons of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), two types of normalized difference water index (NDWI), two types of Normalized Difference Red Edge Index (NDre), principal component analysis (PCA) texture, and canopy height average and standard deviation maps were generated from Sentinel-2 optical images obtained in spring and fall season and topographic height maps such as digital terrain models (DTM) and digital surface models (DSM). The training/validation and test datasets for the ANN model were derived from forest vertical structures based on field surveys. Finally, the forest vertical classification map, the result of ANN application, was evaluated by creating an error matrix compared with the field survey results. The result showed an overall test accuracy of ~65.7% based on the number of pixels. The result shows that forest vertical structure in Gong-ju, Korea can be efficiently classified by using multi-seasonal Sentinel-2 satellite images and the ANN approach.

Abstract:
The construction of Gong-ju WTP (30,000 m3/day), the first practical full-scale integrated membrane system in Korea, has been launched after 6 months of pilot plant operation and 10 months of detailed design. Powdered activated carbon process was applied in order to remove taste and odor caused by algae and coagulation process was applied in consideration of reducing membrane fouling in this micro filtration system. Pilot testing concluded that the pressure type of hollow fiber membrane was more suitable for the raw water characteristic and economical aspects than submerged type membrane system. For the best flow distribution of each unit, CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analysis was performed on aspects of pipe arrangement and daily integrity test system was applied to ensure the safety for leakage under the criteria of 5-log removal. In view of the complicated and equipment-intensive nature of this membrane system, a 3D CAD system was utilized to minimize trial and errors of construction in accordance with combination of each equipments rendered by 3D CAD, and also optimised operation and maintenance were verified through the simulation of 3D rendering.

Filén, Frida, and Sanna Sjödin. "”Revisorer har ju inga spåkulor” - En studie om svenska revisorers perspektiv på bedömningen av fortsatt drift." Thesis, Mittuniversitetet, Institutionen för ekonomi, geografi, juridik och turism, 2021. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:miun:diva-42370.

Full text
Abstract:
Auditors are tasked with examining whether the management´s assumption of going concern is correct or not. The assessment leads to a remark in the auditor´s report in case of doubt about going concern, or alternatively a lack of remark if doubt does not arise during the audit. However, Swedish auditors have problems discovering the risk that indicate bankruptcy. The accuracy of remarks in the field of going concern is generally low, which leaves a lot of room for the occurrence of so-called type I and type II errors. The misjudgements and the low accuracy cause problems for stakeholders, such as investors and lenders. Stakeholders are then not warned about the company´s survival problems and thus were not given the opportunity to take measures to escape negative financial consequences. Previous empirical studies show that auditors´ assessments are influenced by emotions such as comfort and discomfort. Studies show that experience and competence, structure and judgement such as audit time influence going concern assessments and the extent to which auditors experience comfort and discomfort in the assessment. Auditors sometimes show a disproportionate trust in the management skills of companies, which illustrates a bias and an independence problem in going concern assessments. Previous studies, however, mostly apply generalizable approaches. How the auditors themselves describe the going concern assessments is, as far as we know, unclear. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyse the approaches and explanations given by some Swedish certified public auditors as a basis for difficulties in going concern assessments. The study was conducted in the autumn of 2020 with an abductive research approach and six semi-structured digital video interviews. Furthermore, a thematic analysis method was used to compile the transcribed interviews. Despite the fact that they seem to be experienced and competent, the auditors consulted state that going concern assessments are difficult and lead to discomfort. The auditors describe that their views on and use of the standard ISA 570 vary due to, among other things, difficulties of interpretation. However, they do not want more guidelines in the standard due to the fact that the scope for the professional judgement then decreases. The auditors describe that they experience a lack of time in the audit and they state documentation requirements as a time thief. Going concern assessments are also influenced by individual feelings according to the auditors and a perceived discomfort must be reduced through dialogue with colleagues, company management and internal experts in order to achieve comfort. The auditors do not consider that type I and type II errors are incorrect assessments as the theory describes and we can thus state that there are differences between theory and practice. The auditors describe that type II errors are due to sudden events that are impossible to predict because the assessment includes the future. The argument that the future is unpredictable can be questioned because investors often illustrate that this actually is possible. The auditors´ descriptions of the going concern assessment are permeated throughout by a company focus rather than a stakeholder focus, which indicates bias and independence issues.

The most important element in Beijing Opera is music, and the music consists of four closely linked and inseparable parts: music for voice, recitative, tunes (qu-pai) and Beijing opera percussion. The study especially emphasizes on the percussion part for it plays a leading and crucial character in Beijing opera music concerning the development of a plot, the atmosphere of a play and so on. Besides, while studying the Chinese perfusion, the researcher also found out the closed tie between Beijing opera percussion and Chinese percussion. Therefore, this paper focused the main research direction on the application of Beijing opera percussion into Chinese percussion music. Three pieces are discussed in the study: 1, Ye Shen Chen, adapted by Li Min-Xiong from Beijing opera with arrangement of drums by Wang Jian-Hua; 2, Nao Tien Gong, drum set arranged by Li Hui and Beijing opera percussion arranged by Lu Yung-Hui; 3, the Ju Ji ,composed by Chin Kwok-wai, the assistant principal percussionist of Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. The study took these three pieces as examples to analyze the application of Beijing opera percussion into Chinese percussion, and further probe into the connection between these pieces and Beijing opera percussion to construct personal performing interpretation. The study consists of five chapters: Chapter One, preface, including the research motive, research purpose, scope of study and the research methods. Chapter Two is the introduction of Beijing opera percussion, including its history, development and instrumental characteristics. Chapter Three deals with the analysis of how the Beijing opera percussive is applied into the performance of drum set and Chinese bass drum in Ye Shen Chen, Nao Tien Gong and Ju Ji. Chapter Four concerns the performing practices of the three works and Chapter Five is the conclusion. Through this study, the researcher tries to figure out how to apply Beijing opera percussion in the drum set and Chinese bass drum, and hope it will be helpful for both performers and composers in this field.
