Abstract:
This case study investigates how a marketing persona may be created with the use of data gathered by cookies and with the use of Google Analytics. The data gathered originates from the largest IT e-learning platform VITA. The basis of our research was measurement in the Google Analytics tool and the WooCommerce plug-in within the WordPress content management system. Our case study shows how a marketing persona may be created and recommends that once such a persona is created it needs to be validated repeatedly with data on real customers before it may be used for marketing purposes.

Abstract:
This research compares four standard analytics metrics from Google Analytics with SimilarWeb using one year’s average monthly data for 86 websites from 26 countries and 19 industry verticals. The results show statistically significant differences between the two services for total visits, unique visitors, bounce rates, and average session duration. Using Google Analytics as the baseline, SimilarWeb average values were 19.4% lower for total visits, 38.7% lower for unique visitors, 25.2% higher for bounce rate, and 56.2% higher for session duration. The website rankings between SimilarWeb and Google Analytics for all metrics are significantly correlated, especially for total visits and unique visitors. The accuracy/inaccuracy of the metrics from both services is discussed from the vantage of the data collection methods employed. In the absence of a gold standard, combining the two services is a reasonable approach, with Google Analytics for onsite and SimilarWeb for network metrics. Finally, the differences between SimilarWeb and Google Analytics measures are systematic, so with Google Analytics metrics from a known site, one can reasonably generate the Google Analytics metrics for related sites based on the SimilarWeb values. The implications are that SimilarWeb provides conservative analytics in terms of visits and visitors relative to those of Google Analytics, and both tools can be utilized in a complementary fashion in situations where site analytics is not available for competitive intelligence and benchmarking analysis.

Abstract:
Background Despite the increasing amount of research on Web-based mental health interventions with proven efficacy, high attrition rates decrease their effectiveness. Continued process evaluations should be performed to maximize the target population’s engagement. Google Analytics has been used to evaluate various health-related Web-based programs and may also be useful for Web-based mental health programs. Objective The objective of our study was to evaluate WalkAlong.ca, a youth-oriented mental health web-portal, using Google Analytics to inform the improvement strategy for the platform and to demonstrate the use of Google Analytics as a tool for process evaluation of Web-based mental health interventions. Methods Google Analytics was used to monitor user activity during WalkAlong’s first year of operation (Nov 13, 2013-Nov 13, 2014). Selected Google Analytic variables were overall website engagement including pages visited per session, utilization rate of specific features, and user access mode and location. Results The results included data from 3076 users viewing 29,299 pages. Users spent less average time on Mindsteps (0 minute 35 seconds) and self-exercises (1 minute 08 seconds), which are important self-help tools, compared with that on the Screener tool (3 minutes 4 seconds). Of all visitors, 82.3% (4378/5318) were desktop users, followed by 12.7 % (677/5318) mobile phone and 5.0% (263/5318) tablet users. Both direct traffic (access via URL) and referrals by email had more than 7 pages viewed per session and longer than average time of 6 minutes per session. The majority of users (67%) accessed the platform from Canada. Conclusions Engagement and feature utilization rates are higher among people who receive personal invitations to visit the site. Low utilization rates with specific features offer a starting place for further exploration of users in order to identify the root cause. The data provided by Google Analytics, although informative, can be supplemented by other evaluation methods (ie, qualitative methods) in order to better determine the modifications required to improve user engagement. Google Analytics can play a vital role in highlighting the preferences of those using Web-based mental health tools.

Abstract:
This article describes a analytic-hierarchy-process (AHP) application to identify and evaluate the best online advertising analytics software. This technique is multi-criteria and used in this study by comparing the top four web advertising analytics software. AHP uses pair-wise comparison of matrices. There are six criteria identified for evaluation: Ad scheduling, ad targeting, creative banner rotation, features, performance, cost and for each criterion, a matrix of pair-wise comparison with web-analytics software i.e. Google analytics, Accenture Analytics, Funnel and, Moat Analytics were evaluated. AHP is an effective method for multi-objective decision-making, and optimization. Thus, it helps web advertisers to evaluate the existing web advertising analytics software for posting their web advertisements.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the extent to which HTTPS encryption and Google Analytics services have been implemented on academic library websites, and discuss the privacy implications of free services that introduce web tracking of users. Design/methodology/approach The home pages of 279 academic libraries were analyzed for the presence of HTTPS, Google Analytics services and privacy-protection features. Findings Results indicate that HTTPS implementation on library websites is not widespread, and many libraries continue to offer non-secured connections without an automatically enforced redirect to a secure connection. Furthermore, a large majority of library websites included in the study have implemented Google Analytics and/or Google Tag Manager, yet only very few connect securely to Google via HTTPS or have implemented Google Analytics IP anonymization. Practical implications Librarians are encouraged to increase awareness of this issue and take concerted and coherent action across five interrelated areas: implementing secure web protocols (HTTPS), user education, privacy policies, informed consent and risk/benefit analyses. Originality/value Third-party tracking of users is prevalent across the web, and yet few studies demonstrate its extent and consequences for academic library websites.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present data that begin to detail the deficiencies of log file analytics reporting methods that are commonly built into institutional repository (IR) platforms. The authors propose a new method for collecting and reporting IR item download metrics. This paper introduces a web service prototype that captures activity that current analytics methods are likely to either miss or over-report. Design/methodology/approach Data were extracted from DSpace Solr logs of an IR and were cross-referenced with Google Analytics and Google Search Console data to directly compare Citable Content Downloads recorded by each method. Findings This study provides evidence that log file analytics data appear to grossly over-report due to traffic from robots that are difficult to identify and screen. The study also introduces a proof-of-concept prototype that makes the research method easily accessible to IR managers who seek accurate counts of Citable Content Downloads. Research limitations/implications The method described in this paper does not account for direct access to Citable Content Downloads that originate outside Google Search properties. Originality/value This paper proposes that IR managers adopt a new reporting framework that classifies IR page views and download activity into three categories that communicate metrics about user activity related to the research process. It also proposes that IR managers rely on a hybrid of existing Google Services to improve reporting of Citable Content Downloads and offers a prototype web service where IR managers can test results for their repositories.

Abstract:
Background: The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is rare in children and possesses distinctive clinical features. Aims and Objectives: The primary objective is to bring clinicians,’ researchers,’ and epidemiologists’ attention to pediatric encephalopathy as part of the clinical manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 in children. Materials and Methods: Google analytics aimed to explore the spatial-temporal (geographic-chronological) mapping of SARS-CoV-2 in conjunction with pediatric encephalopathy and encephalitis. We retrieved longitudinal data from Google Trends, for one year starting from December 2019, by deploying five search topics; “SARS-CoV-2,” “Coronavirus disease 2019, COVID-19” “Pediatric Encephalopathy,” “Pediatric Encephalitis,” and “Encephalitis in Children.” Results: Spatio-temporal mapping was most conclusive for “COVID-19” and “Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.” Internet users were least interested in topics related to pediatric encephalopathy and encephalitis in children; potentially, reflecting the rarity of these entities in SARS-CoV-2 infections in children. We are also reporting a case of atypical SARS-CoV-2 in an 8-year-old child, in which pediatric encephalopathy occurred in a PCR-confirmed COVID-19 case. Conclusion: Google analytics reconciled with the case report. SARS-CoV-2 in children may present with neurological rather than respiratory manifestations, which is atypical and rare. We are conveying two key messages; (1) pediatricians can collaborate with data scientists to realize evidence-based pediatric medicine and (2) digital data are worthy of exploration to guide subsequent rigor research, including randomized controlled trials and meta-analytics.

Abstract:
The approach of the Internet has affected organizations in numerous features. The website has become an integral part of the organizations, from publicizing the organization's profile to giving web services. This study is to evaluate and analyze user behaviour pattern at Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA (KUPTM) website using Google Analytics (GA) as one of the web analytic tools. Website design and its services have become a crucial part for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to attract users in visiting their website. Therefore, the use of web analytic tools can be an effective solution in measuring, analyzing and identifying the traffic sources for a website. Google tag was added to all KUPTM’s website and the measurement periods has been done between May 2019 and October 2019. Results have shown that the number of visitors is significantly higher during the weekdays and are affected by external stimulus. An external stimulus, such as promotional activities would increase the number of website visitors. The visit trends show weekly fluctuation in the numbers. It records high numbers of visits during the weekdays and fewer visitors during the weekend. The fluctuation could be due to the number of visits were from internal users, i.e. KUPTM employees and students. The capability of Google Analytics to analyze website traffics in terms of collecting data regarding page views, user interaction flow and visitor behaviour will benefit the organization for making a decision.

The University of Mississippi Library created a profile to provide linking from Google Scholar (GS) to library resources in 2005. Although Google Scholar does not provide usage statistics for institutions, use of Google Scholar is clearly evident in looking at library link resolver logs. The purpose of this project is to examine users of Google Scholar with existing data from interlibrary loan transactions and library Web site click-through logs and analytics. Questions about user status and discipline, as well as behaviors related to use of other library resources, are explored.
