Daskal, Jennifer. "Google Inc. v. Equustek Solutions Inc." American Journal of International Law 112, no. 4 (October 2018): 727–33. http://dx.doi.org/10.1017/ajil.2018.75.

Abstract:
In Google v. Equustek, the Supreme Court of Canada ordered Google to delist all websites used by Datalink, a company that stole trade secrets from Equustek, a Canada-based information technology company. Google had agreed to do so in part, but with respect to searches that originated from google.ca only, the default browser for those in Canada. Equustek however, argued the takedowns needed to be global in order to be effective. It thus sought an injunction ordering Google to delist the allegedly infringing websites from all of Google's search engines—whether accessed from google.ca, google.com, or any other entry point. Google objected. The Canadian Supreme Court, along with the two lower Canadian courts that considered the issue, sided with Equustek (para. 54). The ruling sets up a potential showdown between Canadian and U.S. law and raises critically important questions about the appropriate geographic and substantive scope of takedown orders, the future of free speech online, and the role of intermediaries such as Google in preventing economic and other harms.

Abstract:
We are living in the age of online information. Knowledge and information are increasingly accessed through the internet, and the catch-cry ‘I’ll just Google that!’ now has a firm place in the vernacular. Founded in 1998, Google.com has had unprecedented success in changing the way we look for and find online information. This article discusses results of qualitative research on how people experience the process of accessing family law information in a post-separation context. It discusses three important elements of this experience revealed in the data, which are analysed in the context of the impact and use of Google and other search engines as an information source. The article offers some insights about how best to make useful legal information available to non-lawyers.

"How do physician demographics, training, social media usage, online presence, and wait times influence online physician review scores for spine surgeons?" Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine 30, no. 2 (February 2019): 279–88. http://dx.doi.org/10.3171/2018.8.spine18553.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVEThe purpose of this study was to assess the impact of certain demographics, social media usage, and physician review website variables for spine surgeons across Healthgrades.com (Healthgrades), Vitals.com (Vitals), and Google.com (Google).METHODSThrough a directory of registered North American Spine Society (NASS) physicians, we identified spine surgeons practicing in Texas (107 neurosurgery trained, 192 orthopedic trained). Three physician rating websites (Healthgrades, Vitals, Google) were accessed to obtain surgeon demographics, training history, practice setting, number of ratings/reviews, and overall score (January 2, 2018–January 16, 2018). Using only the first 10 search results from Google.com, we then identified whether the surgeon had a website presence or an accessible social media account on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram.RESULTSPhysicians with either a personal or institutional website had a higher overall rating on Healthgrades compared to those who did not have a website (p < 0.01). Nearly all spine surgeons had a personal or institutional website (90.3%), and at least 1 accessible social media account was recorded for 43.5% of the spine surgeons in our study cohort (39.5% Facebook, 10.4% Twitter, 2.7% Instagram). Social media presence was not significantly associated with overall ratings across all 3 sites, but it did significantly correlate with more comments on Healthgrades. In multivariable analysis, increasing surgeon age was significantly associated with a lower overall rating across all 3 review sites (p < 0.05). Neurosurgeons had higher overall ratings on Vitals (p = 0.04). Longer wait times were significantly associated with a lower overall rating on Healthgrades (p < 0.0001). Overall ratings from all 3 websites correlated significantly with each other, indicating agreement between physician ratings across different platforms.CONCLUSIONSLonger wait times, increasing physician age, and the absence of a website are indicative of lower online review scores for spine surgeons. Neurosurgery training correlated with a higher overall review score on Vitals. Having an accessible social media account does not appear to influence scores, but it is correlated with increased patient feedback on Healthgrades. Identification of ways to optimize patients’ perception of care are important in the future of performance-based medicine.

Abstract:
World Wide Web is an information retrieval system accessible via the Internet. Since all the web resources and documents are interlinks with hypertext links, it formed a huge and complex information network. Besides information, the web is also a primary tool for commercial, entertainment and connecting people around the world. Hence, studying its network topology will give us a better understanding of the sociology of content on the web as well as the possibility of predicting new emerging phenomena. In this paper, we construct networks by using random walk process that traverses the web at two popular websites, namely google.com (global) and mudah.my (local). We perform measurement such as degree distribution, diameter and average path length on the networks to determine various structural properties. We also analyse the network at the domain level to identify some top-level domains appearing in both networks in order to understand the connectivity of the web in different regions. Using centrality analysis, we also reveal some important and popular websites and domain from the networks.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTThis article will not try to describe the whole Wikimedia galaxy. It will stick to Wikipedia in English, and that's ambitious enough. The English-language Wikipedia, by far the biggest of them, now (28th November 2006) contains 1,506,659 articles. The German Wikipedia reached 500,000 articles on 23rd November (note in passing: the English Wikipedia has added that many articles to its total in just six months), while the French Wikipedia reached the 400,000 milestone on 27th November. The newest and smallest Wikipedia, number 250, is in the Lak language of Dagestan, in the Caucasus, with one article and 20 users. One more statistical measure will show how much Wikipedia matters. People who Google already know that for a great many Google searches one or more Wikipedia entries will turn up high on the first page of the results. They don't all know that Wikipedia now comes eleventh in alexa.com's traffic ranking of world websites. For a strictly non-commercial site with relatively academic content, that is astonishing success; what's more, the trend is steadily upwards, though it will be hard to overtake the top four: yahoo.com, msn.com, google.com, and the highly popular Chinese search engine, baidu.com.

Abstract:
Breast self-examination web site of the Institute of Oncology Sremska Kamenica was designed in 2000 year and since then it has had about 490 visits, i.e. one visit by day approximately. The site was presented at the 6th Annual World Congress on the Internet in Medicine "Mednet 2001" in Udine, Italy, from November 29 to December 2, 2001. The next phase in our project is to improve its contents to increase its popularity. To achieve this we compared our site with similar sites in English language and languages of former Yugoslavia. The results of this comparison are presented in this paper. To find the sites in all languages we used search engine Google.com and following key words: "breast self-examination" (English language), "samopregled dojke" (Serbian and Croatian languages) "Samopregledovanje dojk" (Slovenian language) and "Samopregledot na dojkata" (Macedonian language). Some additional aspects of breast self-examination such as its validity as a screening tool and its influence on breast cancer mortality were also involved. Our aim was to emphasize the importance of further development of telemedicine services in general, and particularly the importance of primary care and early detection, including breast self-examination as integral parts of teleoncology services.

Abstract:
With the development of social media, customers are sharing their experiences, and it is rapidly spreading as a form of online review. That is why the online review has become a significant information source affecting customers’ purchase intention and behavior. Therefore, it is important to understand the customer’s experience shown in the online review in order to maintain sustainable customer satisfaction and loyalty. The purpose of this study is to investigate what are the key attributes and the structural relationship of those key attributes. To accomplish this purpose, a total of 6596 hotel reviews were collected from Google (google.com). A frequency analysis using text mining was performed to figure out the most frequently mentioned attributes. In addition, semantic network analysis, factor analysis, and regression analysis were applied to understand the experience and satisfaction of the hotel customer. As a result, the top 99 keywords were divided into four groups such as “Intangible Service”, “Physical Environment”, “Purpose”, and “Location”. The factor analysis reduced the dimension of the original 64 keywords to 22 keywords, and grouped them into five factors, which are “Access”, “F&B (Food and Beverage)”, “Purpose”, “Tangibles”, and “Empathy”. Based on these results, theoretical and practical implications for sustainable hotel marketing strategies are suggested.

Abstract:
Background The COVID-19 pandemic has markedly affected renal transplant care. During this time of social distancing, limited in-person visits, and uncertainty, patients and donors are relying more than ever on telemedicine and web-based information. Several factors can influence patients’ understanding of web-based information, such as delivery modes (instruction, interaction, and assessment) and social-epistemological dimensions (choices in interactive knowledge building). Objective The aim of this study was to systemically evaluate the content, delivery modes, and social-epistemological dimensions of web-based information on COVID-19 and renal transplantation at time of the pandemic. Methods Multiple keyword combinations were used to retrieve websites on COVID-19 and renal transplantation using the search engines Google.com and Google.nl. From 14 different websites, 30 webpages were examined to determine their organizational sources, topics, delivery modes, and social-epistemological dimensions. Results The variety of topics and delivery modes was limited. A total of 13 different delivery modes were encountered, of which 8 (62%) were instructional and 5 (38%) were interactional; no assessment delivery modes were observed. No website offered all available delivery modes. The majority of delivery modes (8/13, 62%) focused on individual and passive learning, whereas group learning and active construction of knowledge were rarely encountered. Conclusions By taking interactive knowledge transfer into account, the educational quality of eHealth for transplant care could increase, especially in times of crisis when rapid knowledge transfer is needed.

Abstract:
The standard treatment for advanced ovarian cancer is cytoreductive surgery followed by cytotoxic chemotherapy. However, it has high risk of recurrence and poor prognosis. Poly(ADPribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors selectively target DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) in tumor cells that cannot be repaired and induce the synthetic lethality of BRCA1/2 mutation cancers. PARP inhibitors are clinically used to treat recurrent ovarian cancer and show significant efficacy in ovarian cancer patients with homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway defects. PARP inhibitors also have significant clinical benefits in patients without HR defects. With the increasingly extensive clinical application of PARP inhibitors, the possibility of acquiring drug resistance is high. Therefore, clinical strategies should be adopted to manage drug resistance of PARP inhibitors. This study aims to summarize the indications and toxicity of PARP inhibitors, the mechanism of action, targeted treatment of drug resistance, and potential methods to manage drug-resistant diseases. We used the term “ovarian cancer” and the names of each PARP inhibitor as keywords to search articles published in the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) on Pubmed, along with the keywords “clinicaltrials.gov” and “google.com/patents” as well as “uspto.gov.” The FDA has approved olaparib, niraparib, and rucaparib for the treatment of recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Talazoparib and veliparib are currently in early trials and show promising clinical results. The mechanism underlying resistance to PARP inhibitors and the clinical strategies to overcome them remain unclear. Understanding the mechanism of resistance to PARP inhibitors and their relationship with platinum resistance may help with the development of antiresistance therapies and optimization of the sequence of drug application in the future clinical treatment of ovarian cancer.

Abstract:
Background: Although numerous websites for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are available, little is known about their content and quality. Objective: To evaluate the quality of CKD websites, and the degree to which they align with information needs identified by patients with CKD. Methods: We identified websites by entering “chronic kidney disease” in 3 search engines: Google.com (with regional variants for Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States), Bing.com, and Yahoo.com. We included the first 50 unique English-language sites from each search. We evaluated website content using a 30-point scale comprising 8 priority content domains identified by patients with CKD ( understanding CKD, diet, symptoms, medications, mental/physical health, finances, travel, and work/school). We used standardized tools to evaluate usability, reliability, and readability (DISCERN, HONcode, LIDA, Reading Ease, and Reading Grade Level). Two reviewers independently conducted the search, screen, and evaluation. Results: Of the 2093 websites identified, 115 were included. Overall, sites covered a mean (SD) of 29% (17.8) of the CKD content areas. The proportion of sites covering content related to understanding CKD, symptoms, and diet was highest (97%, 80%, and 72%, respectively). The proportion of sites covering travel, finances, and work/school content was lowest (22%, 12%, and 12%, respectively). The mean (SD) scores for DISCERN, LIDA and HONcode were 68% (14.6), 71% (14.4), and 75% (17.2), respectively, considered above average for usability and reliability. The mean (SD) Reading Grade Level was 10.6 (2.8) and Reading Ease was 49.8 (14.4), suggesting poor readability. Conclusions: Although many CKD web sites were of reasonable quality, their readability was poor. Furthermore, most sites covered less than 30% of the content patients identified as important for CKD self-management. These results will inform content gaps in internet-accessible information on CKD self-management that should be addressed by future eHealth web-based tools.

Abstract:
173 Background: Routine clinical use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) such as the Palliative Care Outcome Scale (POS) may be prevented by a lack of guidance on how to respond to reported symptoms. When using POS in clinical care, clinicians encounter the most difficulties with responding to information needs, depression and family anxiety while breathlessness remains a difficult to treat symptom. We aimed to create a Decision Support Tool (DST) on how to respond to different levels of these patient-reported symptoms. Methods: A systematic search for guidelines and systematic reviews on these topics was conducted (in Pubmed, Cochrane and York DARE databases, Googlescholar, NICE, National Guideline Clearinghouse, Canadian Medical Association, Google.com). In a two-round online Delphi study purposefully sampled international experts (clinicians, researchers, patient representatives) judged the appropriateness (1-9 scale + do not know option) of drafted recommendations for each POS answer category (0-4) and provided qualitative remarks. Recommendations with a median of 7-9 and <30% of scores between 1-3 and 7-9 were included in the DST. Quality was assessed using an adapted GRADE approach. Results: Twenty-five out of 38 (66%) experts participated in round 1, 23 out of 37 (62%) in round 2. Higher POS scores were related to more included recommendations. The DST consists of both a manual and flow-charts of included recommendations for each topic. Overall, psychosocial interventions were recommended for lower levels of depression and breathlessness than drug interventions (e.g., goal-setting/coping versus morphine for breathlessness). Good communication and emotional support were recommended for low family anxiety levels, but a social needs assessment only for higher levels. For information needs recommendations were least discriminative; almost all recommendations (e.g., assess patients’ understanding of information, show empathy) seemed always relevant. Conclusions: The developed DST can assist clinical responses to patient-reported symptoms in palliative care. Future work is needed to test the effect of using the DST on patients’ outcomes.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to highlight the retrieval effectiveness of search engines taking into consideration both precision and relative recall. Design/methodology/approach – The study is based on search engines that are selected on the basis of Alexa (Actionable Analytics for the web) Rank. Alexa listed top 500 sites, namely, search engines, portals, directories, social networking sites, networking tools, etc. But the scope of study is confined to only general search engines on the basis of language which was confined to English. Therefore only two general search engines are selected for the study . Alexa reports Google.com as the most visited website worldwide and Yahoo.com as the fourth most visited website globally. A total of 15 queries were selected randomly from PG students of Department of Library and Information Science during a period of eight days (from May 8 to May 15, 2014) which are classified manually into navigational, informational and transactional queries. However, queries are largely distributed on the two selected search engines to check their retrieval effectiveness as a training data set in order to define some characteristics of each type. Each query was submitted to the selected search engines which retrieved a large number of results but only the first 30 results were evaluated to limit the study in view of the fact that most of the users usually look up under the first hits of a query. Findings – The study estimated the precision and relative recall of Google and Yahoo. Queries using concepts in the field of Library and Information Science were tested and were divided into navigational queries, informational queries and transactional queries. Results of the study showed that the mean precision of Google was high with (1.10) followed by Yahoo with (0.88). While as, mean relative recall of Google was high with (0.68) followed by Yahoo with (0.31), respectively. Research limitations/implications – The study highlights the retrieval effectiveness of only two search engines. Originality/value – The research work is authentic and does not contain any plagiarized work.

Abstract:
<p><strong>Background and Objective: </strong>The COVID-19 pandemic to-date has no treatment or vaccine and protection from the viral illness is only possible by acting upon valid and reliable information. The dentists are considered to be the most vulnerable profession due to proximity with the patient, and this also puts dental patients at risk. Internet is one of the primary sources of information, therefore this study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the online available information using validated instruments. <strong>Methods:</strong> The following terms were searched on google.com &ldquo;Coronavirus and dentistry&rdquo;, &ldquo;COVID-19 and dentistry&rdquo; and &ldquo;SARS COV 2 and dentistry&rdquo;. The first fifty results for each search term were evaluated. Eighteen of the websites did not meet inclusion criteria so 132 websites were critically analyzed by Health on the Net Foundation Code of Conduct (HON code) and the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark. Also, the websites were categorized according to content type. <strong>Results:</strong> A total of 6 (4.54%) websites had the HON code seal, and the JAMA benchmark showed that 14 (10.6%) did not fulfill any of the requirements. Another 69 (52.3%) links had fulfilled all the requirements but 65 (94.2%) of these websites were either links to research journals or guidelines published by dental associations, universities or government organizations, and usually not accessed by the general public. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The information available to the dentists is satisfactorily accurate and reliable, but the nonhealth personnel need to be aware of the quality of information they read. The dentists should provide information to the patients about accessing reliable online sources for information and the expected changes in dental practice. The government should regulate health information on the internet to curb apprehension associated with dental treatment and viral pandemic.</p>

Abstract:
Purpose The study examined psychologically meaningful language dimensions (i.e., social and emotional dimensions, health dimensions, and personal concerns) within online consumer reviews on hearing health care services using an automated textual analysis approach. Method Nine thousand six hundred twenty-two consumer reviews of hearing health care services, including an open-ended question (i.e., free text response to the prompt “share details of your own experience at this place”) and an overall rating (on a 5-point scale ranging from “very good” to “very poor”) were extracted from Google.com from 40 different cities across the United States. In addition, some metadata about the cities (i.e., region, population size, median age, percentage of older adults) were also recorded. Text responses were analyzed using the automated Linguistic Inquiry and Word Count software for selected language dimensions. The language dimensions of online hearing health care reviews were descriptively compared with language dimensions observed in the natural language of typical bloggers. Language dimensions from free text responses were correlated with quantitative overall experience ratings. Results Automated linguistic analysis showed that consumer reviews on hearing health care services had higher social processes, positive emotions, hearing, health, money, and work, and lower negative emotions and time-awareness when compared to typical bloggers. Examining the association between overall experience rating and the language dimensions revealed two broad findings. First, higher engagement of consumers in terms of social processes, positive emotions, hearing, and work dimensions was related to higher experience ratings. Second, higher engagement of consumers in terms of negative emotions, time awareness, and money was related to lower experience ratings. Conclusions Online reviews contain information about various dimensions (i.e., social and emotional dimensions as well as personal concerns) that have bearing toward the way in that they rate their health care experiences. Automated linguistic analysis of consumer reviews appears helpful in identifying gaps in service delivery that may influence consumer experience.

Abstract:
Currently, in the healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and many other countries, ISO standards are mandatory, and also in some countries the Lean Production System is used. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health issued guidelines for the implementation of lean technologies in healthcare organizations in 2017. However, the introduction of Lean technologies is not yet mandatory and has not become widespread in medical organizations in our country. In this regard, information on Lean technologies, experience of their application and effectiveness in healthcare organizations is useful for our medical managers and workers. Goal. Analysis of literature data on ISO and Lean quality management systems, their comparison, experience of application in healthcare organizations and efficiency. Material and methods. For this analysis, we searched for information on the issue with a depth of up to 20 years. Search for publications on the topic of the review was carried out in the databases of PubMed / MEDLINE, PMC, EMBASE, Web of Since, as well as a broad search through the browsers Google.com and Yahoo.com. The search criteria were combinations of terms: quality management system, healthcare, and lean production. Results and discussion. The description of the main features of the quality management systems ISO and Lean, as well as their comparison have been made. Information on the use of these systems in healthcare organizations is given. Currently, the Lean manufacturing system has been implemented in all healthcare organizations in the province of Saskatchewan (Canada), and a large-scale implementation has begun in the Russian Federation. Many medical organizations are implementing Lean system on their own initiative. Most publications have positive feedback on the Lean application. However, there are also several critical articles that the published positive reports lack a strong evidence base. In addition, it is impossible to compare the reports of different organizations due to the lack of a unified system for evaluating the effectiveness of Lean. Conclusion. The Lean manufacturing system is increasingly being used in healthcare organizations. Mostly positive results of Lean application are reported. However, the issue of its effectiveness in healthcare requires further research, since most of the reports cannot be considered as hard evidence. Keywords: quality management system, quality of care, lean management, customer satisfaction

Abstract:
Objective The aim of this study was to examine experiences of hearing health care services as described in online consumer reviews. Design This study used a cross-sectional design. Online consumer reviews about hearing health care services generated from Google.com to an open-ended question “Share details of your own experience at this place” and perceived overall experience (indicated on a 5-point rating scale: “very good” to “very poor”) were extracted from 40 different cities across the United States. The open text contributed a text corpus of 9,622 unique consumer reviews. These responses were analyzed with the cluster analysis approach using an open-source automated text analysis software program, IRaMuTeQ, to identify key themes. Association between clusters and consumer experience ratings as well as consumer metadata (percentage of older adults in the city, region) were examined using the chi-square analysis. Results The majority of consumers appeared satisfied with their hearing health care services, with nearly 95% of consumers reporting “very good” and “good” on the global experience scale. The analysis of text responses resulted in seven clusters within two domains. Domain 1 (Clinical Processes) included the three clusters: administration processes, perceived benefits, and device acquisition. Domain 2 (Staff and Service Interactions) included the four clusters: clinician communications, staff professionalism , customer service, and provider satisfaction . Content relating to administration processes was associated with overall rating regarding the hearing health care service experience. Consumer's reviews relating to administration processes mostly described negative experiences, and these participants were more inclined to provide poorer overall experience ratings. In addition, city characteristics (i.e., percentage of older adults, region) had bearing toward what elements of hearing health care services are highlighted more in the consumer reviews. Conclusions Consumers comment on a variety of elements when describing their experiences with hearing health care services. Experiences reported in most clusters were generally positive, although some concerns in the “clinical process” are associated with lower satisfaction. Employing patient-centered strategies and ensuring patients have good experiences in the areas of concern may help improve both patient experience and their satisfaction. Abstract:
Abstract Types of Information Available on the Internet From Disorders Commonly in the News. Background: Recently two prominent members of the media and a retired basketball player have been diagnosed with myelodysplasia (MDS), multiple myeloma, and chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) respectively. These conditions have therefore received a lot of media attention. Due to this, it is likely that people at home will have increased curiosity and be more likely to seek out information on these conditions on the internet. This could in turn lead to misinformation or provide biased information to patients. We therefore decided to perform searches to determine the type of information patients are receiving. Methods: Google.com is the most commonly used search engine in the world1. We conducted all searches via this engine. 75% of the time, people do not search beyond the first page of results.2 However, we opted to search the first three pages. The search terms "CML", "MDS" and multiple myeloma were used. When reading newspaper articles and internet journals, the acronyms were more commonly used throughout the reports, so only the acronyms were used for CML and MDS exclusively. Both sponsored and unsponsored results were considered. Results were then broken into individual categories for the results. For the unsponsored results, nearly all results could be broken into "level one evidence", "patient support", "cancer center advertisements", and "unrelated". For sponsored results, the categories included "pharmaceutical company", "cancer center advertisement", "patient support", "alternative therapies", "additional search engines", and "unrelated". Results: Results for each individual search are as below 1. CML a. Sponsored: i. Pharmaceutical company: 3/25 ii. Cancer center advertisement: 4/25 iii. Patient support: 8/25 iv. Additional search engine: 6/25 v. Alternative care: 3/25 vi. Unrelated: 1/25 b. Unsponsored: i. Level one evidence: 10/29 ii. Patient support: 8/29 iii. Cancer center advertisement: 0/29 iv. Unrelated: 11/29 2. MDS a. Sponsored: i. Pharmaceutical company: 0/15 ii. Cancer center advertisement: 0/15 iii. Patient support: 3/15 iv. Additional search engine: 4/15 v. Alternative care: 2/15 vi. Unrelated: 6/15 b. Unsponsored: i. Level one evidence: 4/29 ii. Patient support: 4/29 iii. Cancer center advertisement: 1/29 iv. Unrelated: 20/29 3. Multiple myeloma a. Sponsored i. Pharmaceutical company: 10/32 ii. Cancer center advertisement: 6/32 iii. Patient support: 8/32 iv. Additional search engine: 3/32 v. Alternative care: 2/32 vi. Unrelated: 3/32 b. Unsponsored i. Level one evidence: 9/28 ii. Patient support: 13/28 iii. Cancer center advertisement: 5/28 iv. Unrelated: 1/28 4. Totals: a. Sponsored i. Pharmaceutical company: 13/72 ii. Cancer center advertisement: 10/72 iii. Patient support: 19/72 iv. Additional search engine: 13/72 v. Alternative care: 7/72 b. Unsponsored i. Level one evidence: 23/86 ii. Patient support: 25/86 iii. Cancer center advertisement: 6/86 iv. Unrelated: 32/86 Two results from myeloma count not be put into these categories and were excluded from the results. Conclusion: Excluding the sponsored results, the information available to patients appears to be mostly patient support or provides level one evidence. However, the results of MDS were often not related to myelodysplasia, which can be confusing to less savvy internet users. Alternative care was only mentioned in the sponsored results. The information available from other search engines that were linked to sponsored results were not looked at at this time. Patients can find useful information on routine internet searches. Abstract:
This article attempts to reconfigure hegemonic framings of “the academic conference” and thereby offer a means to (re-)encounter the spatial, temporal, and affective forces that conferences generate, differently. We are a geographically dispersed but multiply entangled group of academic researchers united by theoretical fault lines within our work that seek to ask what if and what else. This “what if” and “what else” thinking has manifested in experimental and subversive doings otherwise at a series of academic conferences. The storying practices presented in this article were made possible by the vital materialism of a shared google.doc. It was within this virtual environment that we attempted to weave diffractive accounts of what conferencing otherwise produces. This writing experiment offers a series of speculative provocations and counter-provocations to ask what else does conferencing make possible. This article is an invitation to the reader to plunge in and wallow within the speculative accounts which ensue and to contemplate the possibilities of breaking free from sedimented ways of neoliberal conferencing.

Abstract:
Firefighters appear at an increased risk for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Because of PTSD-related stigma, firefighters may search for information online. The current study evaluated the quality, readability, and completeness of PTSD online resources, and to determine how the online treatment recommendations align with current evidence. Google.ca (Canada) searches were performed using four phrases: ‘firefighter PTSD’, ‘firefighter operational stress’, ‘PTSD symptoms’, and ‘PTSD treatment’. The 75 websites identified were assessed using quality criteria for consumer health information (DISCERN), readability and health literacy statistics, content analysis, and a comparison of treatments mentioned to the current best evidence. The average DISCERN score was 43.8 out of 75 (indicating ‘fair’ quality), with 9 ‘poor’ websites (16–30), 31 ‘fair’ websites (31–45), 26 “good” websites (46–60), and nine excellent websites (61–75). The average grade level required to understand the health-related content was 10.6. The most mentioned content was PTSD symptoms (48/75 websites) and PTSD treatments (60/75 websites). The most frequently mentioned treatments were medications (41/75 websites) and cognitive behavioural therapy (40/75 websites). Cognitive behavioural therapy is supported by strong evidence, but evidence for medications appears inconsistent in current systematic reviews. Online PTSD resources exist for firefighters, but the information is challenging to read and lacks evidence-based treatment recommendations.

Abstract:
Visiting a tourist destination is influenced by advertising through the internet, for example, facebook, Instagram, traveler blogger, kaskus, and so on. All tourism promotion processes are carried out online, so that tourists can search everything about tourist destinations that will be addressed wherever and whenever comfortably. This can foster interest in revisiting tourists for tourist destinations in Banyuwangi Regency. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of online advertising in all tourist destinations in Banyuwangi Regency, both nature-based tourism and Banyuwangi art-based tourism. Methods of data collection in this study using survey of all tourists who provide testimonials or expressions of tourism in Banyuwangi through online media. It is tourists who intend to visit tourist destinations in Banyuwangi Regency. Primary data is obtained from the results of questionnaires distributed to respondents distributed online through google.doc. The data analysis technique uses the EPIC method model which consists of four dimensions namely empathy, persuasion, impact and communication. Processing data to get the results of advertising effectiveness is used simple tabulation analysis, mean score, and EPIC rate. Based on the results of EPIC rate analysis, the EPIC rate value is 3.66 which if included in the EPIC rating scale Model is included in the effective category. Thus the advertisement of tourist destinations in Banyuwangi Regency is done using online media effectively against the interest of revisiting domestic tourists.

Abstract:
PurposeThe aim of the study is to determine the perception of general public on the Serbian police behaviors in combating COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the perception of the citizens how successful the police units were in fulfilling their tasks.Design/methodology/approachDue to the state of emergency declared due to COVID-19 pandemic, in particular the restriction of movement and the need for social distance, the data collection for this study had to be conducted via the online survey platform (Google.doc). The study was conducted during March–April 2020, only four weeks after the state of emergency was declared. The participants were invited to complete the online questionnaire in their native language by using the snowball sampling strategy focused on recruiting the general public via social media tools.FindingsConsidering the fact that police officers are not sufficiently prepared and trained to respond in these specific circumstances, it is necessary to improve their engagement in the future by conducting appropriate training, procuring adequate resources, implementing adequate planning activities, etc. The results of the multivariate regressions of public perception preparedness subscale show that the most important predictor is gender and it explains 23.6% of the variance in preparedness subscale. The remaining variables did not have significant effects on preparedness. This model with all mentioned independent variables explains 6.1% of the variance of preparedness subscale.Originality/valueBearing in mind that there were no completed studies on public perception of police behaviors about the COVID-19 disaster in Serbia, the research has a considerable scientific and social importance.

Abstract:
Background: Public health emergencies during pandemics of communicable diseases, may cause fear leading to social isolation and stigma. Cases have been reported of healthcare professionals (HCPs), facing discrimination on account of heightened fear and misinformation. However, there is dearth of literature with regards to the nature and magnitude of this stigma. Hence, this study was conducted to assess perceived and experienced stigma related to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among HCPs and also assess their apprehensions about testing, quarantine/isolation and consuming Hydroxy-chloroquine as prophylaxis (HCQ).Methods: A cross-sectional study was undertaken among the HCPs working in Delhi during the period May to July 2020. The study was conducted using a semi-structured online questionnaire which was circulated on official contact numbers and email IDs of HCPs in the Google.doc format.Result: Seventy percent of the participants in the current study perceived some kind of stigma, 50% of study participants perceived some form of stigma in their residential colony, 46% observed change in behaviour of their neighbours. Around 20% of participants experienced stigma, most commonly being rude behaviour or harassment from neighbour/landlord. A statistically significant association was observed between marital status (p=0.038), designation (p=0.021) and place of stay (p=0.013) of the study participants and perceived stigma among them. The level of awareness regarding HCQ was high (94.3%), but more than 60% didn’t consume it due to apprehension about side effects. Conclusion: In view of the substantial stigma faced by the HCP, necessary measures to curb the fear and dispel misinformation related to COVID-19 must be undertaken. the rural population.

Abstract:
The first across-the-table negotiation between Google and China concluded successfully in 2006, when Google received a license to establish a local domain (google.cn) targeted at Chinese Internet users and not subject to the “Great Firewall.” During these negotiations both Google and the Chinese government struggled to reach an outcome that would be acceptable to their constituents. Google was caught between pleasing its shareholders and preserving its reputation for free access to information, while China was balancing the desire for cutting-edge search technology and the concern that liberal access to information would undermine its political-economic model. In the end, the negotiation resulted in Google operating two domains in China: Google.com and Google.cn. In early 2010, Google announced that its corporate infrastructure had been the target of a series of China-based cyber attacks and accused the Chinese government of attempting to further limit free speech on the web. These incidents led to a public conflict and private negotiations between Google and the Chinese government, which culminated in July 2010 when the Chinese government renewed the google.cn license knowing that Google was redirecting all Chinese customers search to its google.hk.com site This case concerns the changes in Google and the Chinese government's environment that led to Google withdrawing services from google.cn and the Chinese government saving face by renewing the google.cn license. The case is based on the publicly reported events surrounding two series of negotiations between the U.S. technology giant Google and the Chinese Government regarding Google's license in China.

Abstract:
The complexity of the class context changes knowledge that, today, experiments more and more the ambiguity between global and local. Knowledge seems to aim at the construction of nets of modal meanings. Even the posture of teachers and students change and feedback is one of the aspects that can mostly affect learning by fostering the acceptance of reciprocal worlds present in the class context. In this direction, also feedback seems to change and from an informative structure, as proposed by Gagné, feedback is acquiring a generative rationale, that is, a structure able to open different interpretative perspectives. In the present contribution modalities of feedback collection are described such as Mentimeter.com and Google.com forms being used in different courses at the department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism at the University of Macerata. Those tools were used to valorise the students' informal and non formal knowledge and to define personalized trajectories. Feedback surely was the tool able to bridge the students' and teachers' experience and knowledge towards the construction of a net of meanings built in context.

Abstract:
Oromandibular dystonia is a focal dystonia that manifests as involuntary masticatory and/or tongue muscle contractions. This movement disorder is frequently misdiagnosed as a temporomandibular disorder. Hence, it would be useful to establish a method that makes it possible for patients with the condition to find appropriate medical institutions by themselves. The author produced a website Involuntary movements of the stomatognathic region (https://sites. google.com/site/oromandibulardystoniaenglish/) for patients with oromandibular dystonia, which is available in twenty languages. It has been viewed more than 1,000,000 times by individuals from all over the world. The visitors to the site have completed questionnaires and/or sent images or videos of their involuntary movements over the internet. Cyberconsultations (remote diagnosis) were also performed via Skype™. Approximately 1000 patients with involuntary stomatognathic movements visited our department. Only 12.5% of the patients had previously been diagnosed with or were suspected to have dystonia. The findings of this study suggest that the multilingual website has contributed to increasing awareness of oromandibular dystonia and that the provision of basic telemedicine via the internet can aid the diagnosis and treatment of oromandibular dystonia.

Abstract:
In this series of articles on Experiential Learning of Networking Technologies, we have discussed a number of network protocols starting from HTTP [7] at application layer, TCP [3] and UDP [1] protocols at transport layers that provide end to end communications, and IP addressing [2] and routing for packet delivery at network layer. We have defined a number of experiential exercises for each underlying concept which provide a practical understanding of these protocols. Now, we would like to take a holistic view of these protocols which we have learned so far and look at how all these protocols come into play when an internet user makes a simple web request, e.g., what happens from network perspective when a user enters google.com in the URL bar of a web browser [12]. From the perspective of user, web page of Google’s search interface is displayed in the browser window, but inside the network both at the user’s local network and the internet, a lot of network activity takes place. The focus of this article is to understand the traversal of packets in the network triggered by any such user activity.

Abstract:
This paper discusses the challenges and opportunities involved in incorporating publicly available search engine data in scholarly research. In recent years, an increasing number of researchers have started to include tools such as Google Trends (http://google.com/trends) in their work. However, a central ‘search engine’ field of inquiry has yet to emerge. Rather, the use of search engine data to address social research questions is spread across many disciplines, which makes search valuable across fields but not critical to any one particular area. In an effort to stimulate a comprehensive debate on these issues, this paper reviews the work of pioneering scholars who devised inventive — if experimental — ways of interpreting data generated through search engine accessory applications and makes the point that search engines should be regarded not only as central objects of research, but also as fundamental tools for broader social inquiry. Specific concerns linked to this methodological shift are identified and discussed, including: the relationship with other, more established social research methods; doubts over the representativeness of search engine data; the need to contextualize publicly available search engine data with other types of evidence; and the limited granularity afforded to researchers by tools such as Google Trends. The paper concludes by reflecting on the combination of search engine data with other forms of inquiry as an example of arguably inelegant yet innovative and effective ‘kludgy’ design (Karpf, 2012).

Abstract:
Many studies have solely focused on the negative impact of the coronavirus while ignoring the fact that the coronavirus was also a blessing in disguise to certain institutions. This study focuses on an exploration of some of the environmental-related benefits accruing from the outbreak of the coronavirus, which eventually led many countries of the world to declare a national lockdown. The study utilised secondary sources from 21 articles gleaned from hand-searched literature from various web pages and online news, accessed through google web page (google.com) between March to September 2020. Key search words used in the search were COVID-19 and the environment, benefits of COVID-19 to the environment, the environmental impact of COVID-19, and the environmental behaviour during COVID-19. The study reported that some positive benefits of COVID-19 concerning the environment from China, the United States of America, Europe, and Africa. Findings from the review indicated that almost all the continents in the world have experienced improve environmental quality as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus. The study further added that one of the most important dividends arising from the outbreak is the positive change in behaviour in people towards the environment. It was, therefore, recommended that there is a need for nations of the world to leverage the window of opportunity provided by the coronavirus to encourage green economic behaviour to save the environment.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives This study examined:1) prevalence of overweight and obesity (ov/ob) in children aged 0–18 y in China, 2) national policies and intervention programs on childhood obesity in China since 1949, and 3) provided recommendations for future work. Methods Literature search and expert consultation were conducted to identify childhood obesity related national intervention programs and policies in China since 1949. We systematically searched: a) Baidu.com, the dominant search engine in China, b) official websites of national-level government sectors, c) Chinese databases: CNKI and Wanfang from 1949 to 2018, and d) google.com. 20 leading international (eg, from the US) and national (from China) experts on childhood obesity were surveyed in November-December 2018. Results In China prevalence of ov/ob increased from 5.8% in 1991 to 9.5% in 2011 in preschool children (2–6 y), and from 8.0% in 1985 to 27.9% in 2014 in school children (7–18 y). Development of national policies on childhood obesity prevention experienced 3 stages: 1) 1949–1994: Childhood ov/ob were low, related research and national surveys emerged; 2) 1995–2010: childhood ov/ob increased rapidly, related policies and intervention programs were gradually established; 3) 2011-: policies focused on improving nutrition status of children in poor areas, establishing monitoring systems, but effectiveness of these polices was not assessed. Nine major national intervention programs were identified. Institutions implementing the interventions mainly included the State Council and institutions directly under the State Council. The programs focused on preschool or school children and aimed to promote physical activity (eg, “The Happy 10 Minutes Program”) and healthy eating (eg, School Meal Program). No interventions targeted at improving environments. Effectiveness of the programs was not reported. Conclusions Childhood ov/ob has increased rapidly in China, with the fastest increase among major countries and has the largest number of ov/ob children in the world. Compared to many industrialized countries, national policies and interventions on childhood obesity in China are limited, more future efforts are needed and publishing the Chinese Obesity Blue Paper help fill a gap. Abstract:
The surge in cases of severe COVID-19 has resulted in clinicians triaging intensive care unit (ICU) admissions in places where demand has exceeded capacity. In order to assist difficult triage decisions, clinicians require clear guidelines on how to prioritise patients. Existing guidelines show significant variability in their development, interpretation, implementation and an urgent need for a robust synthesis of published guidance. To understand how to manage which patients are admitted to ICU, and receive mechanical ventilatory support, during periods of high demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, a systematic review was performed. Databases of indexed literature (Medline, Embase, Web of Science, and Global Health) and grey literature (Google.com and MedRxiv), published from 1 January until 2 April 2020, were searched. Search terms included synonyms of COVID-19, ICU, ventilation, and triage. Only formal written guidelines were included. There were no exclusion criteria based on geographical location or publication language. Quality appraisal of the guidelines was performed using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation Instrument II (AGREE II) and the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation Instrument Recommendation EXcellence (AGREE REX) appraisal tools, and key themes related to triage were extracted using narrative synthesis. Of 1902 unique records identified, nine relevant guidelines were included. Six guidelines were national or transnational level guidance (UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Australia and New Zealand, Italy, and Sri Lanka), with one state level (Kansas, USA), one international (Extracorporeal Life Support Organization) and one specific to military hospitals (Department of Defense, USA). The guidelines covered several broad themes: use of ethical frameworks, criteria for ICU admission and discharge, adaptation of criteria as demand changes, equality across health conditions and healthcare systems, decision-making processes, communication of decisions, and guideline development processes. We have synthesised the current guidelines and identified the different approaches taken globally to manage the triage of intensive care resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. There is limited consensus on how to allocate the finite resource of ICU beds and ventilators, and a lack of high-quality evidence and guidelines on resource allocation during the pandemic. We have developed a set of factors to consider when developing guidelines for managing intensive care admissions, and outlined implications for clinical leads and local implementation.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Studies have shown conflicting findings for association of processed meat with risk of colorectal cancer (CRC); with some studies showing an increased risk while others having no associations. Few studies have been done to study this association with salt (sodium) intake that is high in processed meats. Methods A comprehensive, systematic literature search was conducted on PubMed and Google.com to identify observational studies on dietary salt (sodium) intake for prevention of CRC. 1933 titles were identified and screened of which 86 abstracts were selected for full-text review; finally, 7 studies were included. Results In case-control studies from Jordan on 169 CRC cases (248 matched controls), from Siberia on 185 cases (210 matched controls), and from Greece on 250 cases (250 controls), high sodium intake was significantly associated with an increased CRC risk (highest to lowest quartile, OR = 3.42, 95% CI: 1.59–7.38; high vs. medium salt in food, OR = 3.45, 1.68–7.1; and added table salt yes vs. no, OR = 1.62, 1.05–2.49, latter got attenuated when adjusted for overall dietary habits, OR = 1.41, 0.90–2.20; respectively). However, in another case-control study from Australia on 715 cases (727 matched controls), high sodium intake was not associated with CRC (RR = 1.23, 0.9–2.4, P = 0.11). Similar for sub-group of colon cancer but significant only for rectal cancer (RR = 1.61, 1.1–2.3, P = 0.006). In a prospective cohort study from Japan on 81,578 subjects free of cancer/CVD at baseline, no association was found for sodium and CRC (highest vs. lowest quartile, HR = 1.10, 0.85–1.42, P-trend = 0.51). Other study designs have also shown increased risk. A cross-sectional study from Oman on 405 participants showed that eating food high in salt (26.8%) was a risk factor for stomach and colorectal cancer with significant associations in young age groups and with higher education. Lastly, in a comparative ecological study from South Africa, sodium intake was higher in West coast fishermen (6 CRC cases over 5 years/120,000) vs. urban Cape Town inhabitants (677/2 million). Conclusions Majority of studies were case-control design, most of which showed positive association between sodium intake and CRC. Cross-sectional/ecological studies support this. Meta-analysis needs to be done to increase sample size and explore potential heterogeneity. Funding Sources None.

Abstract:
Objective: We aim to understand (1) the frequency of URL sharing and (2) types of shared URLs among opioid related discussions that take place in the social media platform called Reddit.Introduction: Nearly 100 people per day die from opioid overdose in the United States. Further, prescription opioid abuse is assumed to be responsible for a 15-year increase in opioid overdose deaths1. However, with increasing use of social media comes increasing opportunity to seek and share information. For instance, 80% of Internet users obtain health information online2, including popular social interaction sites like Reddit (http://www.reddit.com), which had more than 82.5 billion page views in 20153. In Reddit, members often share information, and include URLs to supplement the information. Understanding the frequency of URL sharing and types of shared URLs can improve our knowledge of information seeking/sharing behaviors as well as domains of shared information on social media. Such knowledge has the potential to provide opportunities to improve public health surveillance practice. We use Reddit to track opioid related discussions and then investigate types of shared URLs among Reddit members in those discussions. Methods: First, we use a dataset4—made available on Reddit—that has been used in several informatics studies5,6. The dataset is comprised of 13,213,173 unique member IDs, 114,320,798 posts, and 1,659,361,605 associated comments that are made on 239,772 (including active and inactive) subreddits (i.e., sub-communities) from October 2007 to May 2015. Second, we identified 9 terms that are associated with opioids. The terms are 'opioid', 'opium', 'morphine', 'opiate', 'hydrocodone', 'oxycodone', 'fentanyl', 'heroin', and 'methadone'. Third, we preprocessed the entire dataset (i.e., converting text to lower cases and removing punctuation) and extracted discussions with opioid terms and their metadata (e.g., user ID, post ID) via a lexicon-based approach. Fourth, we extracted URLs using Python from these discussions, categorized the URLs by domain, and then visualized the results in a bubble chart7.Results: We extracted 1,121,187 posts/comments that were made by 328,179 unique member IDs from 8,892 subreddits. Of the 1,121,187 posts/comments, 82,639 posts/comments contained URLs (7.37%), and these posts consisted of 272,551 individual URLs and 138,206 unique URLs. The types of shared URLs in these opioid related discussions are summarized in Figure 1. The color and size represent the type and size respectively of shared URLs. The ‘.com’ is in blue; ‘.org’ is in orange; and ‘.gov’ is in green. Conclusions: We present preliminary findings concerning the types of shared URLs in opioid-related discussions among Reddit members. Our initial results suggest that Reddit members openly discuss opioid related issues and URL sharing is a part of information sharing. Although members share many URLs from reliable information sources (e.g., ‘ncbi.nlm.nih.gov’, ‘wikipedia.org, ‘nytimes.com’, ‘sciencedirect.com’), further investigation is needed concerning many of the ‘.com’ URLs, which have the potential to contain high and/or low quality information (e.g., ‘youtube.com’, ‘reddit.com’, ‘google.com’, ‘amazon.com’) to fully understand information seeking/sharing behaviors on social media and to identify opportunities, such as misinformation dissemination for improving public health surveillance practice.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Amid a Canadian opioid crisis, many have turned to natural health products, such as kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), to manage their opioid withdrawal. Kratom has also been reported to relieve anxiety, improve stamina, and heighten physical performance. Given that kratom is not authorized for sale by Health Canada, many have turned to online retailers to purchase kratom due to its easy accessibility online. This study investigated the quality of consumer health information provided on the websites of online vendors selling kratom to consumers in Canada. Methods Following searches on Google.ca using search terms designed to simulate the information-seeking behaviour of a typical patient-user online, eligible websites were assessed using the 16-question DISCERN instrument, a tool designed to assess the quality of consumer health information. Searches were conducted on March 27, 2020 and only websites presenting information in English were included. Results A total of 200 webpages were identified; after screening based on eligibility criteria and combining different webpages that belonged to the same website, 51 websites were found to be eligible. The mean summed DISCERN score across all 51 websites was 36.95 (SD = 2.44) out of 75, which reflects poor quality consumer health information across the subset of websites. The overall quality of websites was poor, as 78% (n = 40) of vendors received a score of 2 or less out of 5. Conclusions Individuals who seek information about kratom online are frequently exposed to poor quality consumer health information. Those looking to purchase kratom online are not provided with the critical information necessary to make an informed decision regarding its use, such as the complete details about the risks and side effects or a description of how kratom affects the body. Given the growing interest in kratom, knowledge of the quality of information available can lead to improved dialogue between healthcare providers and patients.
