Abstract:
This study explored the effect of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, facilitating condition, lifestyle compatibility, and perceived trust on both the intention to use an e-wallet and the adoption of an e-wallet among adults by using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). This quantitative study adopted a cross-sectional research design to gather data from 501 respondents using a Google Form. The collected data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). As a result, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social influence, lifestyle compatibility, and perceived trust displayed a significant positive effect on both intentions to use an e-wallet and adoption of an e-wallet. This study evidenced the mediating effect of the intention to use an e-wallet on the correlations between the predictors and adoption of an e-wallet. Both the age and gender of the respondents moderated the effect of lifestyle compatibility on intention to use an e-wallet. The study outcomes serve to inform managers and policy makers to devise effective strategies that capture consumers’ intention to use and experience of using an e-wallet in the midst of a turbulent market. Ultimately, such carefully sculpted policies may promote the digital platform and web-based application, apart from encouraging higher rates of e-wallet adoption in developing countries.

Abstract:
Against the backdrop of greater smartphone and internet penetration across the emerging markets, electronic wallet (e-wallet) has emerged as a reliable and well-known digital payment method. The main purpose of this paper is to review the growing volume of studies on e-wallet adoption in this region. E-wallet is widely used worldwide, but it has yet to become mainstream in developing countries, including Malaysia. Hence, scholars have conducted numerous studies on e-wallet use, but there seems to be a lack of consensus on the predictors influencing its adoption. This study examines these publications to analyze the potential research gaps, offer a multi-stakeholder eco-system framework and make recommendations for future research. We retrieved scholarly articles on E-Wallet adoption published from 2016-2021 through the Google Scholar and Scopus database. After the screening process in which some papers were excluded, 77 previous studies were reviewed regarding the methodology, findings and adaptation of theories/models. Considering that a large portion of the studies are grounded based on the technology acceptance framework and typically involved drivers and enablers, we call for a distinct approach that draws in other factors into the equation. For instance, future research may divulge the inhibitors to E-wallet adoption and incorporate the external environment and consumer psychological factors as potential predictors.

Abstract:
Increasingly sophisticated technology brings various conveniences both in transportation, information, education to the convenience of transactions in shopping, such as the development of E-wallet can now be easily done using a smartphone. From a number of e-wallet products, researchers took a case study, which is OVO product, which is currently being discussed by many groups, especially in the capital of Jakarta today. Customers or clients who are not satisfied with the services or products offered by a company will usually write their complaints on social media or reviews on Google play. However, monitoring and organizing opinions from the public is also not easy. For this reason, we need a special method or technique that is able to categorize these reviews automatically, whether positive or negative. The algorithm used in this study is Naive Bayes Classifier (NB), with the optimization of the use of Particle Swarm Optimization Feature Selection (FS). The results of cross validation NB without FS are 82.30% for accuracy and 0.780 for AUC. Whereas for NB with FS is 83.60% for accuracy and 0.801 for AUC. Very significant improvement with the use of Feature Selection (FS) Particle Swarm Optimization.

Abstract:
In the present world, smartphones play an important role in the daily life of people. Technological advancement has made smartphones as devices where mobile users can make money transactions or payment by using applications installed on the smartphone. It’s no secret that people today are digital natives. In this technology-driven society, paying for a cappuccino using a pay-and-go method or buying a sweatshirt with a one-click model, has become the norm. Backing away from cash, they drive innovation in the digital payments industry. That’s the reason digital-driven payments become one of the trends ripe in this digital push era.The research is an attempt at analyzing the impact of demographic factors on consumer selection of the mode of payment along with an understanding of what people think about the idea of paying online and up to what extent they find it more convenient. It is also about knowing factors that affect the consumer’s decision to adopt mobile wallets and various risks and challenges faced by the users of the mobile wallet. An extensive literature review is also done and a lot of information is collected from different sources. In this research, the primary data is collected from the people of the National Capital Region. Abstract:
Introduction:Emerging evidence suggests a heightened interest in healthy behaviour changes, including smoking cessation, at the beginning of the week. Evidence from Google searches, quitlines, and cessation websites show greater information-seeking and interest in early week quitting.Aims:This pilot assesses the comparative effectiveness of a smoking cessation intervention that encourages participants to use Mondays as a day to quit or recommit to quitting smoking. Methods:We partnered with existing smoking cessation group programs to conduct a quasi-experimental, pre–post study. Both comparison and intervention groups received the same standard-care curriculum from program instructors. Intervention group participants received Monday materials including a wallet card and a mantra card during enrolment. On Mondays, intervention participants received an emailed tip-of-the-week and were encouraged to quit or recommit to quitting. Quit buddies were recommended in both groups, but intervention participants were encouraged to check-in with quit buddies on Mondays. The outcomes of smoking abstinence, number and length of quit attempts, and self-efficacy were assessed at the final program session and three months later. Results:At the last session, intervention group participants who were still smoking had a higher self-efficacy of quitting in the future, rated their programs as more helpful in quitting smoking, and were more likely to rate quit buddies as very helpful. Differences in self-efficacy were no longer observed at the second follow-up. No differences were observed between intervention and standard group participants in abstinence, number of quits, length of quits, or self-efficacy of staying quit at either follow-up.Conclusions:Encouraging results from this pilot study indicate that further research is needed to explore how Monday messaging may improve smoking cessation programs.

This thesis aims to analyze the security risks related to the mobile payment. This thesis uses an explorative method to research the stakeholders, critical assets and vulnerabilities within mobile payment by utilizing case studies of Square and Google Wallet. The information gathered from the case studies and security analysis is further analyzed by the dynamic network analysis tool (ORA) in order to discover the security risks. The results of this thesis indicate that accounts and business data are the most critical assets in mobile payment because accounts are the foundation to perform payment transactions. Further, the mobile payment service provider, merchant and consumer are the stakeholders affected most by the security risks. And this thesis concludes that all the stakeholders should be aware of the security risks within the mobile payment environment, and further if service and device providers want to keep continuous business they should make more effort to cooperate with each other to protect the users against these risks.

Abstract:

Collaborative learning or learning in groups revolves around the constructivist theory where learning occurs through social interaction process where learners construct knowledge collectively. The rise of social networking sites and a general interest in enhancing group learning brought forward the idea of designing structured learning activities that enhance interaction, communication, and discussion between students using the online learning collaborative networked platforms. This chapter describes the use of networked platforms for design and implementation of collaborative learning activities for undergraduate students in Taylor's University, Malaysia. Collaboration is an important aspect of how our world functions today and an element at the core of rich learning opportunities. The role of educational institutions is one that provides provoking settings so that learning is deep and sustained well beyond the classroom walls. Learners are currently in a paradigm where they are able to learn at all hours of the day; they are no longer in a framework where learning is exclusive to a classroom. Teachers and students at The Bishop Strachan School are exploring this through the various uses of teaching and learning strategies and enriching these strategies with Web 2.0 applications. This chapter will present early explorations in the school with Wiki pages, social networking tools, such as NINGs, interactive timelines, and real-time applications, such as Google apps. Each of the cases provides an authentic learning experience for students and moves the student’s work out into the world.

Abstract:
The process of scientific discovery is something like a walk near Freswick Castle. I assume you’ve never been there. (Neither have I, but a friend has.) Freswick Castle stands at the end of Scotland’s northeast end, at the mouth of the Burn of Freswick in the district of Caithness. As of this writing, it is unlisted in Google Maps, and I had to manually scan the coast to find it. Outside the castle is a simple, unlabeled structure that doubles as a biochemical parable. The castle itself is narrow and three stories tall, with orange shingles and gray stone, set on an arc of narrow beach between hills to the north and cliffs to the south. The building is approximately the cruciform shape of a shrunken cathedral, with the rightward wing moved to the top of the structure so it resembles a lowercase f. If you wander the grounds near Freswick Castle, you will discover a stone wall in the wind-blown waves of yellow- green grass, worn but still standing firm like Hadrian’s Wall. From above, it is a period preceding the castle’s f. Let’s approach this as a scientist, with measurement. From the castle side, this structure resembles the circular stump of a roofless tower, eight feet tall and twice that wide. The stones are ancient sand, compacted and weathered, stained different shades of red from iron deposited millions of years ago, but the mortar is new. But inspection is not enough—we should go in. Walk around to the other side, and an opening appears, as shown in Figure 2.1. The structure is not a closed circle, but it is a spiral wall open to the sea, and to you. Inside, a small stone bench invites you to sit. A window slit next to the bench is an eye to the outside. Surrounded by a jigsaw of rocks, you can hear the echo of waves all around and watch the blue-gray sky above. If the spiral’s opening is a mouth, then you are Jonah in the whale. You are both inside and outside at once.

Abstract:
"Words are wise men's counters—they do but reckon by them; but they are the money of fools." So said Thomas Hobbes in the seventeenth century. Oft-repeated words, ambiguous in meaning, can easily counterfeit for the money of the mind. Free enterprise, laissez-faire, and capitalism are examples. Walter Lippmann, an esteemed commentator in the period between the two world wars, remarked on a gap between rhetoric and behavior:… Most men have shown in their behavior that they wished to impose free capitalism on others and to escape it themselves. Employers have believed in it for their employees, and have appealed to it against factory laws and unionism. But they have not hesitated to call upon the state for protection against foreign competition. . . . There is no reason to think that business men under capitalism have had any consistent conviction of laissez-faire. Their employees have certainly not had it. They have voted for tariffs when they were told their jobs depended upon them. They have voted to close the labor market by restricting immigration. They have voted for labor laws and they have organized unions. Like their employers they have believed in laissez-faire for others…. Most men believe in laissez-faire for others, while seeking to escape it themselves. A half-century after Lippmann, the economist Milton Friedman repeated the criticism: "With some notable exceptions, businessmen favor free enterprise in general but are opposed to it when it comes to themselves." This inconsistency violates the fundamental assumption of ethical theory that moral principles must be symmetrical—sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. But it is the very nature of egoism to want sauce for the goose only: the morality Ego lives by, if he can get away with it, is asymmetrical. The discovery that social arrangements are often asymmetrical can easily lead to cynicism. One of the myths supporting free enterprise is Emerson's story of the man who built a better mouse trap and thereby became rich as the world "beat a path to his door, though he lived in the depths of the woods." In truth, however, success more often comes by another route: an ingenious man fashions a bifurcation in the accounting system that channels the costs of his enterprise to society, while directing the profits to himself.

Abstract:
