Abstract Richard Gosser was a national leader in the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and a contemporary of James R. Hoffa. Both men had similar backgrounds, had similar ties to organized crime, and faced similar allegations of corruption, but the results of those allegations differed dramatically. Hoffa was singled out by a congressional investigative committee, and his name became a byword for the menace of labor racketeering. After an initial period of controversy, Gosser enjoyed a reputation as a labor statesman. A comparison of their careers highlights the political nature of union corrupt

Abstract:
This paper reports a single-subject study of word associations in English. The work uses an innovative research methodology which makes it possible to examine very large numbers of associations. From this we can make some reasonably reliable estimates about the global and local structure of the association network of the Subject. The data suggests that this network is more dense than some common metaphorical descriptions of lexical networks imply. Some of the implications of this for models of L2 vocabulary development are briefly explored.

Abstract:
We propose a scheme to simulate the t–J–U model and investigate the quantum phase transitions using cold atoms confined in a two-dimensional optical lattice. By adjusting the parameters of external laser fields, we find a phase transition from antiferromagnetic phase to Gossamer superfluid. The Gossamer superfluid has a d-wave or mixed d- and s-wave symmetry, depending on the hopping parameters which can be adjusted by tuning the laser field. Experimental protocol to observe these new phenomena for future experiments has also been briefly discussed.

The highest mortalities were observed with isolates from N. gossei and N. langsdorffii.
