Abstract:
The possible renal and hepatic toxicities of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in bean cooking media were studied using 100 male albino mice. Two sublethal doses of EDTA were used to explore their toxic effects; 20 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg, which corresponded to 1/100th and 1/10th of LD50, respectively. Accordingly, the toxicity study was performed using 50 mice, divided into five groups ( n = 10/group) as follows: group 1 (Gp1) served as a negative control and was orally administered normal saline; group 2 (Gp2) was administered the bean cooking medium; group 3 (Gp3) was administered EDTA (20

Fetuses with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) have high concentrations of catecholamines, which lowers the insulin secretion and glucose uptake. Here, we studied the effect of hypercatecholaminemia on glucose metabolism in sheep fetuses with placental insufficiency-induced IUGR. Norepinephrine concentrations are elevated throughout late gestation in IUGR fetuses but not in IUGR fetuses with a bilateral adrenal demedullation (IAD) at 0.65 of gestation. Euglycemic (EC) and hyperinsulinemic–euglycemic (HEC) clamps were performed in control, intact-IUGR, and IAD fetuses at 0.87 of gestation.

Ground Penetrating Radar is a tool for mapping the subsurface in a noninvasive way. The radar instrument transmits electromagnetic waves and records the resulting scattered field. Unfortunately, the data from a survey can be hard to interpret, and this holds extra true for non-experts in the field. The data are also usually in 2.5D, or pseudo 3D, meaning that the vast majority of the scanned volume is missing data. Interpolation algorithms can, however, approximate the missing data, and the result can be visualized in an application and in this way ease the interpretation. This report has focu

Second, F-K filtering with dip relaxation is proposed for interference removal that is important for both imaging and the performance of post-processing techniques including autofocusing techniques and CS-based migration studied in this thesis. Ground Penetrating Radar is a widely used technique for detecting objects in the subsurface. However, the objects typically appear as hyperbolic curves in the raw data's time domain. Therefore, the size and the location of the objects are hard to interpret from the raw data. Migration is a helpful technique to determine the subsurface velocity and to transform the raw data into an image where the object's size and location are easier to interpret. In this thesis, we discuss a strategy for automatic migration. We apply the automatic strategy with a few standard migration methods, Kirchhoff, Pha

These OPR systems have difficulties with high clutter level, surface reflections, limited ground penetration and the required fine resolution.
