Secondo una lunga tradizione confermata anche da opere illustri come la Sin­ tassi italiana di Raffaello Fornaciari del 1881, gli autori delle grammatiche italiane, nel trattare la struttura della frase semplice, adottano una soluzione fortemente influenzata dalla semantica, con i cosiddetti complementi indiretti. Trattasi di un modello che si differenzia completamente da quello adottato nelle grammatiche delle altre grandi lingue europee, come i1francese, il tedesco, il russo, in cui l'analisi della frase semplice è impostata su criteri essenzialmente sintattici.

Abstract:
L'Italia, che neppure nel passato mancava di grammatiche di indirizzo normativo e descrittivo, si è arricchita negli ultimi anni di una serie di opere glottodidattiche dedicate all'italiano. Una delle ultime è il poderoso volume La lingua e i testi, Grammatica de/la lingua italiana di P. Agazzi, A. Fallica e A. Menegoi, edito da Minerva Italica, Bergamo, 1988. II libro non è soltanto una grammatica in senso usuale: infatti, vi si trattano le nozioni fondamentali della teoria linguistica attuale (comunicazione, segno linguistico, codice, funzioni della lingua, metafora e metonomia, denotazione e connotazione, fattori della comunicazione), della teoria del testo (con alcuni campioni di testi di vario genere), in seguito l'origine e lo sviluppo della lingua italiana (dall'Indovinello veronese ai nostri giorni), i dialetti e le comunita alloglotte, e nell'ultima delle quattro appendici si danno gli elementi della composizione scritta. Il volume include dunque in notevole misura la sociolinguistica, la pragmatica, la comunicazione e la teoria dell'informazione (invece di parlante o locutore e collocutore si usano conseguentemente i termini emittente e destinatario ), la storia della lingua, la cultura del parlato e dello scritto. Si cerca insomma di avvicinare il Linguaggio all'alunno e di sviluppare in lui non solo la competenza grammaticale ma anche quella comunicativa, attiva e passiva.

Abstract:
L’articolo intende fornire una breve disamina delle riflessioni riservate alla punteggiatura da parte di alcune tra le principali grammatiche del Settecento francese, allo scopo di segnalarne la modernità, la profondità d’analisi e l’influenza che esercitarono sulla sintassi moderna, non solo d’oltralpe. Una prima sezione è destinata a osservare come, di fronte alla storia recente dell’interpunzione, i grammatici illuministi si scostino sensibilmente dalle tendenze imperanti in Italia. Essi, infatti, non riservano all’argomento spazio esiguo e liminare, né si limitano a fornire semplici regole d’uso oscillanti tra un’interpretazione pausativa e un’interpretazione sintattica dei segni, e non di rado ridotte a vaghezze sul libero arbitrio degli scriventi. Al contrario, propongono osservazioni ampie e acute, poco o per nulla connesse alla mera prassi (dunque scarsamente fruibili a livello didattico), e perlopiù relate al problematico rapporto tra oralità e scrittura, ai cambiamenti verificatisi nel tempo entro il sistema scrittorio e ai fondamenti logici e semantici che presiedono all’organizzazione del discorso, cui la punteggiatura prende attivamente parte. Si procede poi con l’osservazione diretta di alcuni scritti, in particolare dei notevoli esempi forniti dalle opere di Claude Buffier, dell’abate Girard e di Nicolas Beauzée. Pur nella difformità delle trattazioni, tali grammatici condividono un approccio ragionativo al problema, che prende avvio da un’analisi minuziosa del testo e che offre altresì i presupposti per un fertile dialogo tra indirizzi interpretativi talora divergenti. Le loro proposte giungono, tra Settecento e Ottocento, anche in Italia, al punto che uno scrittore quale il Manzoni dei Promessi Sposi sembra venirne influenzato. Di qui, una casistica che lo dimostri. Si pensi, ad esempio, all’impiego della virgola tra soggetto e predicato – che i grammatici italiani teorizzano solo a partire dal Novecento, con il Malagòli – quando il primo sia espanso o da tematizzare; e all’uso del corsivo – ancora considerato, in ambiente peninsulare, appannaggio del tipografo – per segnalare la citazione, nel testo, di un altro testo scritto: riflessioni riscontrabili, almeno sino a Ottocento inoltrato, nella sola grammatica del Beauzée. Qualche considerazione conclusiva, infine, inserisce questi lavori nel complesso degli studi sull’interpunzione e chiarisce il legame sussistente tra essi e il testo manzoniano, anche in relazione alla diffusione del paradigma comunicativo-testuale nel panorama grammaticografico italiano. A communicative interpretation of punctuation in the French grammar books of the XVIII century: manzonian examples The article provides a brief examination of the reflections on punctuation in some of the main eighteenth century French grammar books, in order to point out their modernity, depth of their analysis and the influence they exerted on modern syntax, not only in France. The first section observes how, in the face of the recent history of punctuation, the grammarians of the Enlightenment deviated considerably from the prevailing trends in Italy. In fact, they dedicated ample space to the subject, going beyond providing simple rules for use that oscillated between a pausative interpretation and a syntactic interpretation of the signs, which not infrequently were reduced to vagueness regarding the free will of the writers. The ample and acute observations, barely connected to mere practice (therefore scarcely usable at a didactic level), were mostly related to the problematic relationship between orality and writing, changes that occurred over time within the writing system and to the logical and semantic foundations that presided over the organization of discourse, where punctuation took an active part. We then proceed with the direct observation of some writings, in particular remarkable examples provided by the works of Claude Buffier, Abbot Girard and Nicolas Beauzée. Despite the differences in their treatments, these grammarians shared a reasoned approach to the problem, which began with a detailed analysis of the text and which also offered the basis for a fertile dialogue between interpretative, sometimes divergent, approaches. Between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, their proposals reached Italy, where Manzoni, in Promessi Sposi, seemed to have been influenced by them. Hence, a series of cases demonstrate this. Think, for example, of the use of the comma between subject and predicate – that Italian grammarians theorized only from the twentieth century with Malagòli – when the first was expanded or thematized; or the use of italics – still considered, in a peninsular environment, the prerogative of the typographer – to signal a citation, in the text, of another written text: reflections that can be found, at least until the late nineteenth century, only in the grammar book by Beauzée. Finally, a few concluding considerations place these works within studies on punctuation and clarify the link between them and Manzoni’s text, also in relation to the diffusion of the communicative-textual paradigm in the Italian grammatical panorama.

Questo articolo intende servire a tre scopi. Il primo è quello di fornire un aggiornamento rispetto alla questione sollevata dal progetto GRASS dell’Università di Bolzano sul riconoscimento del soggetto nella scuola dell’obbligo. L’aggiornamento è circoscritto a una questione: come è affrontato il tema del soggetto nelle più recenti grammatiche scolastiche? Per rispondere sono state analizzate undici grammatiche attualmente in adozione nella scuola dell’obbligo. Il secondo scopo dell’articolo è quello di dare a chi lavora con le grammatiche scolastiche delle indicazioni pratiche su come approcciarsi al tema del soggetto, senza stravolgere la tradizione ma partendo da questa per fornire un quadro il più possibile chiaro che al tempo stesso restituisca la complessità del concetto e fornisca un utile spunto per la riflessione linguistica in classe. Infine, si è voluto guardare all’insegnamento dell’italiano come lingua non materna: infatti, sebbene sia ragionevole dubitare che nozioni come il riconoscimento del soggetto di una frase e le sue caratteristiche siano utili nel percorso di apprendimento di una lingua2, dall’analisi di un piccolo campione emerge che i manuali analizzati per l’apprendimento dell’italiano a partire dal livello B1 ricorrono alla nozione di soggetto. The subject in the teaching Italian. An overview between school grammars and GIS This article intends to serve three purposes. The first is to provide an update with respect to the issue raised by the GRASS project at the University of Bolzano regarding the recognition of the subject in school. The update is limited to one question: how is the theme dealt with in the most recent grammar textbooks? To answer this, eleven recent grammar textbooks were analyzed. The second purpose of the article is to provide with practical indications on how to approach the theme of the subject to those working with grammar textbooks. The idea is to start from the tradition to illustrate the complexity of the concept and provide a useful starting point for linguistic reflection in the classroom. Finally, the teaching of Italian as a non-mother tongue is addressed. It is reasonable to doubt that notions such as the recognition of the subject of a sentence and its characteristics are useful in the L2 language learning process. However, by analyzing a small sample of textbooks, it emerges that the notion of subject is present starting from level B1.

Questa tesi ha lo scopo di individuare e analizzare, all'interno del panorama letterario italiano del Novecento, lingue e grammatiche fantastiche, in particolare lo pseudo persiano e l'L.I di Tommaso Landolfi, la "lingua universale" de "L'interprete" di Diego Marani, il Granfugnese di Lia Wainstein e altre (da completare). Dopo una prima parte introduttiva e generale sulle lingue immaginarie, nel capitolo centrale si passeranno in rassegna le singole lingue in esame, andando alla ricerca di quelli che possono essere stati i possibili modelli, le influenze o le teorie linguistiche che hanno concorso alla loro creazione, tenendo presente che gli autori in questione, per un motivo o l’altro, hanno tutti una loro sensibilità e un loro pensiero a riguardo della lingua. Nella parte conclusiva, infine, dopo aver individuato eventuali tratti comuni nel processo creativo dei glottoteti trattati, si cercherà di effettuare un veloce confronto con altre lingue immaginarie del panorama mondiale.

Nell’ambito della linguistica storica inglese si è assistito solo negli ultimi anni all’emergere di un nuovo interesse accademico e al conseguente sviluppo di un nuovo campo di ricerca: il Late(r) Modern English (LModE). Lo studio diacronico della lingua inglese, tradizionalmente spintosi fino a includere il periodo dell’Early Modern English, ha infatti solo recentemente accolto nel suo raggio d’indagine lo studio dei secoli a noi più vicini, il XVIII e il XIX, precedentemente soprannominati “the Cinderellas of English historical linguistic study” (Jones 1989). Il presente lavoro propone un’analisi storica e sociolinguistica del periodo che considera l’evoluzione linguistica del British English, l’importante fenomeno del prescrittivismo linguistico e lo sviluppo della grammatografia inglese nel XVIII secolo. Il primo capitolo propone una collocazione temporale del LModE tra il 1660 e il 1945, ne traccia i principali sviluppi storici e sociali, e presenta lo stato dell’arte sulla variazione linguistica del periodo. Il secondo capitolo presenta un’analisi approfondita delle diverse ideologie che hanno contribuito allo sviluppo del prescrittivismo quale fenomeno linguisticamente e culturalmente pervasivo. Il terzo capitolo, infine, traccia lo sviluppo settecentesco della grammatica come genere normativo e presenta l’analisi dettagliata di un'opera finora poco osservata: “Grammatical Observations on the English Language” (1766) del reverendo Caleb Fleming (1698-1779).
A growing amount of scholarly attention has been paid to Late(r) Modern English since Jones (1989) famously dubbed the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries “the Cinderellas of English historical linguistic study”. The present work aims to contribute to such process of “De-Cinderellisation” (Rodriguez-Alvarez & Rodriguez-Gil 2011) through a historical and sociolinguistic account that links the evolution of British English in modern times to the rise of linguistic normativism and the development of grammars. The first chapter frames the period between 1660 and 1945, reports on the major socio-historical developments of the time, and tracks the linguistic variation through a state-of-the-art survey. The second chapter offers a lengthy and thorough examination of the different ideologies which brought about the all-pervasive linguistic and cultural phenomenon of prescriptivism. Finally the third chapter details the eighteenth-century development of English grammars as a normative genre and focuses on the micro-level analysis of the under-researched work by Rev. Caleb Fleming (1698-1779): “Grammatical Observations on the English Language” (1766).

Il presente studio si propone di  analizzare da un punto di vista glottodidattico alcune grammatiche di lingua araba letteraria, sia essa classica (Classical Arabic) o moderna (Modern Standard Arabic), scritte in italiano. Una prima parte sarà dedicata all'illustrazione del campo d'indagine della glottodidattica e delle tendenze che hanno contrassegnato il processo di insegnamento/apprendimento delle lingue nel XX secolo. Si procederà quindi a delineare le metodologie che sono alla base dell'impostazione di un manuale rivolto ai discenti di lingua araba e di madrelingua italiana, al fine di illustrare come diversi modi di concepire l'insegnamento e l'apprendimento della lingua diano origine ad impostazioni didattiche e attitudini all'apprendimento differenti.

Abstract:
Notre étude porte sur l’observation de connaissances linguistiques et métalinguistiques chez les adultes francophones apprenant l’Espagnol Langue Étrangère (ELE). Ces connaissances constituent la compétence grammaticale que les apprenants construisent au fur et à mesure qu’ils s’approprient la L2.Dans le but d’observer ces connaissances au stade intermédiaire d’apprentissage — c’est-à-dire au niveau seuil (B1) établi par le Cadre Commun de Référence pour les Langues (Conseil de l’Europe, 2001) —, nous avons procédé à une étude expérimentale auprès de 30 adultes francophones. Notre démarche comporte 2 tâches d’expérimentation : une tâche de décision et une tâche de production orale. La tâche de décision repose sur un test de jugement de grammaticalité : on demande aux participants d’évaluer, dans un temps limité, un corpus des phrases (exposées les unes après les autres, à la fois à l’écrit et à l’oral) dont certaines contenaient une erreur. Le corpus de phrases présenté à nouveau sur papier, on demande ensuite aux participants de donner un jugement définitif (sans mesure de temps de réponse), à partir duquel, s’ils jugent une phrase incorrecte, ils doivent indiquer où se situe l’erreur et l’expliquer. Quant à la tâche de production orale, il a été demandé aux participants de produire un discours descriptif et narratif en L2 espagnol à l’aide d’un stimulus visuel (bande dessinée). Les résultats de nos tâches expérimentales nous ont permis de recueillir des données sur le temps de réponse, sur la capacité de jugement de phrases, sur le type de discours employé pour expliquer l’erreur et sur les structures syntaxiques utilisées spontanément en production orale.Ces données sont analysées et discutées en vue de fournir des pistes sur la capacité des adultes francophones apprenant l’ELE à détecter des erreurs en langue cible et à en expliciter les règles transgressées ; sur les problèmes qu’ils retrouvent dans leur appropriation du système grammatical de l’espagnol ; et sur les connaissances dont ils se servent pour analyser et produire les structures de la langue objet. En outre, les résultats obtenus nous permettent à notre tour d’envisager autrement l’apprentissage de la grammaire de l’espagnol et d’avancer la perspective d’un modèle d’enseignement adapté aux capacités métacognitives et métalinguistiques de l’apprenant francophone
The framework of our study is focused on the assessment of linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge of francophone adults learning Spanish as a foreign language. This knowledge constitutes the basis of grammatical competence built by learners as they develop skills in the target language.Our aim is the observation of linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge used by francophone adult learners of Spanish as a second language (L2). Thus, we designed and directed an experimental study to 30 French-speakers with a threshold-level in Spanish, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Council of Europe, 2001). Our approach consisted of two experimental tasks: A decision making task and a task of oral production. The first task was conducted with a grammaticality judgement test in which participants had to evaluate, in a limited response time, a corpus of 36 sentences (presented one after the other, at both written and oral). The second task was conducted with the definitive confirmation of judgments about the corpus. Participants were thus asked to give a final judgement about the correctness of sentences (without measuring response time). If they judged a sentence as incorrect, they have to specify the error and explain it. As for the oral production task, the participants were asked to produce a descriptive and narrative speech in Spanish by using visual stimuli (a comic strip). The results achieved allowed us to collect data on the response time, on the sentences judgment ability, on the type of speech used to explain the error and on syntactical structures used spontaneously in oral speech. Those data were analyzed and discussed with the aim of providing insights on the capacity of francophone adults learning Spanish as a foreign language for detecting and explaining errors in the target language; on their difficulties in acquiring the Spanish grammatical system; and on their knowledge to analyze and produce structures in target language.The results enabled us to reconsider the learning of Spanish grammar otherwise with a view to teaching models adapted to the metacognitive and metalinguistic skills of francophone learners

Nous nous plaçons dans le cadre de l’inférence grammaticale probabiliste. Il s’agit, étant donnée une distribution p sur un ensemble de chaînes S∗ inconnue, d’inférer un modèle probabiliste pour p à partir d’un échantillon fini S d’observations supposé i.i.d. selon p. L’inférence gram- maticale se concentre avant tout sur la structure du modèle, et la convergence de l’estimation des paramètres. Les modèles probabilistes dont il sera question ici sont les automates pondérés, ou WA. Les fonctions qu’ils modélisent sont appelées séries rationnelles. Dans un premier temps, nous étudierons la possibilité de trouver un critère de convergence absolue pour de telles séries. Par la suite, nous introduirons un type d’algorithme pour l’inférence de distributions rationnelles (i.e. distributions modélisées par un WA), basé sur des méthodes spectrales. Nous montrerons comment adapter cet algorithme pour l’appliquer au domaine, assez proche, des distributions sur les arbres. Our framework is the probabilistic grammatical inference. That is, given an unknown distribution p on a set of string S∗ , to infer a probabilistic model for p from a sample S of observations assumed to be i.i.d. according to p. Grammatical inference focuses primarily on the structure of the probabilistic model, and the convergence of parameter estimate. Probabilistic models which will be considered here are weighted automata, or WA. The series they model are called rational series. Initially, we study the possibility of finding an absolute convergence criterion for such series. Subsequently, we introduce a algorithm for the inference of rational distrbutions (i.e. distributions modeled by WA), based on spectral methods. We will show how to fit this algorithm to the domain, fairly close, of rational distributions on trees. Finally, we will try to see how to use the spectral algorithm in a more statistical way, in a density estimation task

Abstract:
The article analyzes transformation of word-forms during spontaneous creation in live television broadcasting. Particular attention is paid to adjectives adverbs. The specific properties of adverbs makes it easier to trace general trends in their transformations, because adverbs are not burdened with many different forms and their variations, that occur in the process of word change of some other class of words at the same time adverbiatives allow to analyze in more detail the semantical and grammatical structure of speech. The main method we use is to observe the speech of live TV journalist, we used during the study methods of comparative analysis of comparison of theoretical positions from the work of individual linguists and journalists. Our objective is to trace these transformations and develop a certain attitude towards them in our researches of the language of the media and practicing journalists to support positive trends in the development of the broadcasting on TV and give recommendations for overcoming certain negative trends. All studies of the problems of transformation of grammatical forms in different ways relate to translation studies, mostly investigate the grammatical transformations, that the translator resorted to, when reproducing the original by means of another language. At first glance, it would be logical, if the live speech of television journalists was dominated by transformations? Associated with the translation from internal to foreign broadcasting in cases where natural for this TV journalists is Russian-speaking internal broadcasting and he reproducing the text from internal Russian-speaking. The transformation of grammatical forms however this cannot be seen in the live use of adverbiatives. An interesting trend can also be seen in the transformation of different types of gramma­tical forms. In particular, negative interference is mostly characteristic of the forms of corporate adverbs. Forms of the same word with the same grammatical meaning is such overlapping of two forms of the same grammatical meaning is practically impossible outside of adjectives adverbial and adjectives themselves. Only a small number of transformations are associated with the forms of superlatives.
