A sífilis na gestação é uma das causas de óbitos perinatal, óbitos neonatais e de natimortos. A incidência de sífilis congênita reflete a qualidade da assistência prestada às gestantes no prénatal. A sífilis é uma doença de notificação compulsória, cujo tratamento é disponibilizado pela rede pública de saúde.
