Introduction: The current work probes the effectiveness of multimodal touch screen tablet electronic devices in conveying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics graphics via vibrations and sounds to individuals who are visually impaired (i.e., blind or low vision) and compares it with similar graphics presented in an embossed format. Method: A volunteer sample of 22 participants who are visually impaired, selected from a summer camp and local schools for blind students, were recruited for the current study. The techniques of manipulating photo-images that carried out the montage in a single frame were widely employed in photo-illustrated children’s books published in the late 1930s. Unlike earlier Soviet children’s books, which mostly employed photography toward “capturing real life” and promoting mass education, these late-1930s photobooks conjured a fairy-tale wonderland in which reality is somewhat bracketed and objects are given visible agency. Abstract:
Numerical simulations are important tools for understanding the human circulation system in different states of heart failure and exercise, or with a cardiac assist device. However, its application is limited due to the complexity of the numerical model of the human circulation system. To overcome this difficulty, a Graphic User Interface (GUI) has been developed. The GUI was designed to be intuitive; users can set different scenarios using self-explanatory controls, without knowledge of the tasks done in the complex numerical model. The GUI will display the simulated hemodynamic response of t

Abstract:
Classical regular path queries (RPQs) can be too restrictive for some applications and answering such queries under approximate semantics to relax the query is desirable. While for answering regular path queries over graph databases under approximate semantics algorithms are available, such algorithms are scarce for the ontology-mediated setting. In this paper we extend an approach for answering RPQs over graph databases that uses weighted transducers to approximate paths from the query in two ways. The first extension is to answering approximate conjunctive 2-way regular path queries (C2RPQs)

Abstract:
Ultrasonic flow meters, especially those that exploit multiple paths to achieve higher accuracies, are capable of extensive self-diagnosis. Each ultrasonic meter manufacturer has tended to devel-op diagnostic tools specific to his particular device. This has led to a confusing mix of offerings that are not transportable between meters and whose names and interpretations are not always consistent. The focus of this effort has been to examine four areas that yield information indicative of both the health of the meter and the quality of the measurements it is providing: (1) the meter design and

Abstract:
Real-time ray tracing is an important tool in computational research. Among other things, it is used to model sensors for autonomous vehicle simulation, efficiently simulate radiative energy propagation, and create effective data visualizations. However, raytracing libraries currently offered for GPU platforms have a high level of complexity to facilitate the detailed configuration needed by gaming engines and high-fidelity renderers. A researcher wishing to take advantage of the performance gains offered by the GPU for simple ray casting routines would need to learn how to use these ray traci
