This paper proposes a classification of gravel deposits in the upper Paraná River Basin based on their genesis, sedimentary facies and depositional processes. They were classified in four types: a) Upper slope oligomictic gravel (Fine and coarse-sand associations) – this deposit is associated with the origin of hydrographic basin during the Tertiary; b) Middle slope oligomictic gravel – It constitutes colluvial deposits related to present topography; c) Lower slope oligomictic gravel – this deposit is associated with present river valley; d) Polymictic gravel – deposited during the Pleistocene

The sand–gravel brine deposit in the Mahai Basin is a newly discovered large-scale potassium–bearing brine deposit. The potassium–bearing brine is primarily found at depths exceeding 150 m within the porous alluvial and fluvial sand–gravel reservoir of the Middle to Lower Pleistocene. This deposit is characterized by a relatively shallow water table, moderate–to–strong aquifer productivity, high salinity, and a KCl content that meets the conditions for exploitation, with the advantage of reduced salt crystallization during well mining, making it a potential reserve base for potash development.

Inhumation graves can provide essential information about the clothing of the deceased, although whether this represents a special dress for the dead or clothing that was also worn by the living must be discussed. Abstract:
Abstract Over the last few years, conventional 2,25Cr1Mo grade has been increasingly replaced by 2,25Cr1MoV grade for the fabrication of heavy refining reactors, offering better mechanical properties at high temperatures. This change also improves Hydrogen Induced Disbonding (HID) resistance due to large differences in hydrogen solubility and diffusion behavior between the two grades. The hydrogen trapping ability of 2,25Cr1MoV is also an important parameter to take into consideration. This paper proposes to explain the differences between the two previously cited grades when facing gaseous hy

Abstract:
The Amaruq deposit map area is a glacial landscape dominated by till deposits (72% of map area) forming transverse ridges, hummocky moraine, or plains of varying thickness, occasionally streamlined. Glacial lake sediments cover about 18% of the map area and form thick to thin deposits covering the till. They occur predominantly in lowlands and below approximately 140 m a.s.l., which is the elevation of the highest raised beaches located in the western part of the map area. Some of the glacial lake sediments could have been deposited in a marine environment during high sea levels following degl

Abstract:
The Milton Reservoir 7.5-minute quadrangle is located in Weld County within the northern part of the Colorado Piedmont. The subdued landscape consists of gentle sloping uplands and the shallow valley of Beebe Draw, a north-south trending alluvial paleovalley where the ancestral South Platte River once flowed. The dominant surficial sediments in the quadrangle are Upper Pleistocene to Holocene eolian deposits where the sandier units form longitudinal and parabolic dune landforms, and the fine clay to silt rich units occur in interdunal valleys. Multiple alluvial deposits of different ages are s

This open file reports geochemical data for stream and groundwater samples collected around the Casino porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposit, one of the largest and highest-grade deposits of its kind in Canada. The calc-alkaline porphyry is hosted in a Late Cretaceous quartz monzonite and associated breccias in the unglaciated region of west central Yukon. Water chemistry around the deposit was investigated because: (i) the deposit has not yet been disturbed by mining; (ii) the deposit was known to have metal-rich waters in local streams; and (iii) the deposit has atypically preserved ore zones. The map area lies about 40 km northwest of Baffinland's iron mine. Dykes of unit mAnA3 within unit mAnA2 suggest that unit mAnA2 predates unit mAnA3. Unit nAMqf, basal Mary River Group unit, includes regolith material from units mAnA2 and mAnA3. Unit mAnAm may include some dykes of unit nAMb. The Mary River Group was deposited in a volcanic-arc environment, yielding zircon U-Pb ages mostly in the range of 2.88 to 2.72 Ga. Iron-formation (unit nAMi) is approximately 276 m thick locally, with oxide facies (unit nAMio) being most abundant. The quartzite triangle west of 'Iron lake' (unofficial na

Based on extensive remapping of the northeast Thelon Basin region in Nunavut, uranium exploration criteria are adapted from those of the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan, as basin-specific paradigms. The Athabasca Basin straddles the Rae and Hearne cratons and the Taltson magmatic zone, whereas the Thelon Basin rests entirely within the Rae Craton. In the Athabasca Basin, four unconformity-bounded siliciclastic sequences with different paleocurrents record a complex depositional history, whereas the Thelon Formation is a single, albeit cyclic siliciclastic unit with uni-modal paleocurrents. Preliminary surficial geology, based on airphoto interpretation and limited legacy field data of the Bebensee Lake map area, records a complex glacial landscape. Highly streamlined till, till blanket, hummocky till, moraine complex, and ridged till are dominant units. Glaciofluvial sand and gravel form eskers, subglacial meltwater corridors, ice-contact deposits, and outwash plains. Fine-grained glaciolacustrine sediments in the south occur predominantly in lowlands below 250 m elevation, relating to glacial Lake McConnell. Multiple lobes of Laurentide ice glaciated the area. The Windsor quadrangle, situated in the northern part of the Colorado Piedmont, features relatively low topographic relief with a 94-meter variance between its highest and lowest points. Notable elongated outcrop areas of weathered bedrock are observed along the dissected southwest side of the Cache la Poudre River valley. While fresh bedrock is mainly found in lower gravel pit faces in the Big Thompson River valley, unconsolidated Quaternary deposits cover most of the quadrangle with few natural exposures along river cut banks. This geologic map of the Duchesne 30' x 60' quadrangle is the result of five years of new mapping aided by previous mapping. Approximately centered on the town of Duchesne, Utah, the Duchesne County seat, the quadrangle covers most of the western Uinta Basin. Tertiary rocks of the Green River, Uinta, and Duchesne River Formations dominate the bedrock units in the quadrangle. Members of the formations are recognized and mapped throughout the Duchesne quadrangle despite the coarsening of these members in the western half.
