Abstract:
Oklahoma Proven (OKP) is a plant promotion and evaluation program designed to help consumers choose plants appropriate for Oklahoma gardens. Aiding consumers with plant selection will lead to greater gardening success, enthusiasm, and increased sales for Oklahoma green industries. There are two major facets to the program: marketing, coordinated by Dr. Lou Anella, and evaluation, coordinated by Dr. Michael Schnelle. Plants to be promoted by OKP will be selected by an OKP executive committee based on recommendations from an OKP advisory committee comprised of industry professionals, cooperative extension specialists and educators, Oklahoma Botanical Garden and Arboretum affiliate members, and Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture faculty. Plants chosen for OKP must meet the following selection criteria: appropriate for gardens throughout the state of Oklahoma; readily available in the trade; limited input required, i.e. few pest or disease problems, tolerant of Oklahoma's diverse soil types and weather conditions; noninvasive; can be profitably produced. The OKP Advisory Board selected the following OKP Selections for 2000: Taxodium distichum; Spiraea japonica `Magic Carpet'; Verbena canadensis `Homestead Purple'; and Scaevola aemula. Promotional materials, such as posters and signs, will be available just after the first of the year, and the promotional push will begin in early March. Posters and signs will be distributed to retailers throughout the state free-of-charge and pot stakes and hang tags will be sold to wholesalers as a means of generating income for the Oklahoma Proven program. OKP plants will also be promoted through the television show “Oklahoma Gardening,” extension newsletters, and the press.

Abstract:
The discussion of a program quality by means of a communication process with its viewer makes generalizations impossible. The constant criticism to television refers, primarily, to its contents, but it is also form, broadcasting, medium and a communi-cation process through which the audience can interrelate in a hermeneutical style, taking Gadamer’s theory — which advocates that one interprets something from one’s own history and experience. If what is said on television is more important than what is shown, then its quality is less in its content and more in its capacity to create communication and generate discussion between its viewers and society, although the latter frequently addresses programs as being low quality.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to find out how the "Serambi Islami" da'wah program on TVRI is from the perspective of the audience and users? The author chose TVRI, because of its existence as the oldest state-owned television with a mission to provide information, provide entertainment, and facilitate education for the community. The theory used in this study is from audience to users proposed by Gill Branston and Roy Stafford. This research is a field study using a descriptive method and a qualitative approach. Serambi Islami is a religious program on TVRI that airs from 04.30 to 06.00, every day from Monday to Sunday. This program is intended for all people who want to watch propaganda shows. To convey the messages of da'wah, an effective media is needed. Television is a strategic mass media as a means of da'wah. This media is very popular in the community that can reach audiences and users to remote areas. Presentation of da'wah materials on television that are weighty and attractive is an important part, so that viewers are interested in as objects of da'wah (mad'u).

Abstract:
Television data collection and return technologies are one of key technologies in television secure broadcasting system, TV video content surveillance, TV program copyright protection, and client advertisement broadcasting. In china, the dominating methods of TV video content surveillance are manual tape recording and whole TV program Automatic Return. Manual method costs too much, whole TV program return method needs lots of net bandwidth and storage space. This paper proposes a new method of television data collection and return technology, video field is extracted from continuous video and coded at frequency of about one field per second, in other words, one field is extracted from continuous fifty fields of original video for PAL TV system, extracted frame can be coded by all means, for example JPEG2000, or intra mode code of H.264 or MPEG2. TV programs whose content and topic change most frequently are news and advertisement program, which may change topic in five to ten seconds, so extracted sequences hold the same topic and content and enough information with original video for TV program content surveillance application. The data quantity of extracted sequence is about 3 percent of the original video program, which will save large quantity of network bandwidth and storage space. One hardware implementation method of this technology based on embedded system is proposed, the TV Field Extractor, which circularly extracts images from target TV program, uses high-performance compression algorithm for image compression and stores the final output sequences of stationary images on the hard disk, or transmits these sequences to the monitoring center via network. This method evidently reduces device cost, network bandwidth and storage space, which can be widely adopted in TV program content surveillance and TV secure broadcasting system.

The use of short animated films to address important social issues and societal needs has a rich tradition. These cartoons follow a stream of ecological propaganda in a variety of films that promote pro-environmental values and beliefs. After surveying films for both the cinema and television, the authors focus on exploring short animated films as pedagogical texts that teach pro-environmental beliefs and encourage ordinate behaviors in entertaining ways. They then discuss the application of the entertainment–education communication strategy through animated films as a means to advance environmental education. In particular, they view short animated films as pedagogical tools that function as exemplary or revelatory parables.

Abstract:
The objective of the research was to determine the influence of the interactive television program “Aula365” in the learning of children in the fourth grade of the primary level of the Educational Institution “Seminario Jesús María”, Chachapoyas-Peru; for this, the quasi-experimental research design called “design with pre and post test with non-randomized control group” has been used. The non-probabilistic sample consisted of 2 sections "B" and "C" of the fourth grade, one for the experimental group and one for the control group of 30 students each, whose average age was 9 years. The study had as an independent variable the interactive television program "Aula365" and dependent on the learning variable. The instrument used was the Barranquilla Rapid Test (BARSIT) consisting of 60 items with a single weight of 1 point each item, which determined the levels of the learning variable according to a scale of predetermined values by: very lower (0-9 ), inferior (9-18), normal (18-27), superior (27-31) and excellent (31-60). The hypothesis was contrasted by means of the statistical parameter T-Student for two independent samples, to evaluate the influence of the interactive television program "Aula365" on student learning with a 95% probability of confidence. The results in the experimental group show that the T test was statistically significant (Tc = 4.076, p <0.05), with an average of 28.4 in the pretest and 35.7 points in the post test, which evidenced an improvement in the learning of the kids; however, in the control group the T test was not statistically significant (Tc = -1,147, 0.95, p> 0.05), with an average of 20.3 in the pretest and 20.1 in the post test. Finally, it is concluded that the interactive TV program "Aula365" positively influenced, since the children achieved an excellent learning.

Abstract:
The Green Brigade horticultural program is a community-based treatment and diversion program for juvenile offenders. The objective of this study was to determine if participation in the Green Brigade program improved the self-esteem, locus of control, interpersonal relationships and attitude toward school of participating juvenile offenders. Participants in the Green Brigade program had significantly lower scores than the comparative group on measures of self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and attitude toward school prior to and after completion of the Green Brigade program. Although the Green Brigade participants' scores were significantly lower than the comparative group's scores, the means were still considered `normal' for their age group. However, adolescents participating in coed sessions, where the hands-on activities involved plant materials, displayed more positive interpersonal relationship scores than participants in an all male session where the hands-on activities focused on the installation of hardscape materials and a lack of plant materials. No significant differences were found in rates of repeated crimes of juvenile offenders participating in the Green Brigade program when compared to juvenile offenders participating in traditional probationary programming.

Abstract:
Images of green infrastructure (gardens, green corridor, green roofs and grasslands) large area can be captured and processed to provide spatial and temporal variation in colours of plant leaves. This may indicate average variation in plant growth over large urban landscape (community gardens, green corridor etc). Towards this direction, this short technical note explores development of a simple automated machine learning program that can accurately segregate colors from plant leaves. In this newly developed program, a machine learning algorithm has been modified and adapted to give the proportion of different colors present in a leaf. Python script is developed for an image processing. For validation, experiments are conducted in green house to grow Axonopus compressus. Script first extracts different RGB (Red Green and Blue) colors present in the leaf using the K-means clustering algorithm. Appropriate centroids required for the clusters of leaf colors are formed by the K-means algorithm. The new program provides saves computation time and gives output in form of different colors proportion as a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file. This study is the first step towards the demonstration of using automated programs for the segregation of colors from the leaf in order to access the growth of the plant in an urban landscape.

Abstract:
The relationships among sedentary time, television viewing time, and dietary patterns in children are not fully understood. The aim of this paper was to determine which of self-reported television viewing time or objectively measured sedentary time is a better correlate of the frequency of consumption of healthy and unhealthy foods. A cross-sectional study was conducted of 9- to 11-year-old children (n = 523; 57.1% female) from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Accelerometers were used to determine total sedentary time, and questionnaires were used to determine the number of hours of television watching and the frequency of consumption of foods per week. Television viewing was negatively associated with the frequency of consumption of fruits, vegetables, and green vegetables, and positively associated with the frequency of consumption of sweets, soft drinks, diet soft drinks, pastries, potato chips, French fries, fruit juices, ice cream, fried foods, and fast food. Except for diet soft drinks and fruit juices, these associations were independent of covariates, including sedentary time. Total sedentary time was negatively associated with the frequency of consumption of sports drinks, independent of covariates, including television viewing. In combined sedentary time and television viewing analyses, children watching >2 h of television per day consumed several unhealthy food items more frequently than did children watching ≤2 h of television, regardless of sedentary time. In conclusion, this paper provides evidence to suggest that television viewing time is more strongly associated with unhealthy dietary patterns than is total sedentary time. Future research should focus on reducing television viewing time, as a means of improving dietary patterns and potentially reducing childhood obesity.

Recently the Government of Indonesia makes a program of Low Cost Green Car (LCGC). The purpose of the program is to support the independence LCGC four-wheeled vehicles industry in order to anticipate the trend of increased demand for energy-efficient motor vehicles and reasonably priced. LCGC program is polemical prolonged. Protests came from all circles. Such as Local Officials, to the Economist. Because the program is properly designed like a cheap car city so that it’s bought by urban communities only According to The Ministry of Industry Article 1 (e) that the Green Car is set up with the price of Rp. 95,000,000.00 (ninety five million). In this case, the government intervened by way Ceiling Price although this intervention thresholds given in the event of structural changes in Indonesia's economic fundamentals, but the policy of intervention was assessed inconsistently. Because the car LCGC-called "earmarked" for the people of the lower middle class but are prohibited from using subsidized fuel. With some reason LCGC issuance of policies by the Government, there are some points that are contradicted by the transport and economic conditions in Indonesia. LCGC policy is certainly contrary to the spirit of alleviating transport problems especially congestion that was hit by the crisis. With the tax-free policy by the government, then the purchasing of the low-cost car will be higher. This is in accordance with the law of demand. The impact is congestion will worsen, especially in the knots of Indonesia's major cities. That means it will grow, the use of fuel and air pollution.

Abstract:
Discussions in the field of ethical consumption usually refer to the mainstreaming of ethical and environmental concerns that impact on consumer behaviour in the consumption of food and material goods, and in some cases to television programs (especially lifestyle and makeover programs) that acknowledge the environmentally concerned viewer by encouraging the consumption of goods and services that minimise environmental impact. These studies recognise the field of commodity consumption as an important site for thinking about practices of identity-formation and the construction of the self as a responsible, environmentally and ethically concerned citizen who makes politically based decisions in everyday practice. But rarely is a TV program itself presented as a green commodity produced with the intention to be ecologically and ethically sound in its branded identity. This article showcases the production and distribution of the preschool television program dirtgirlworld as a response by ecologically minded individuals to engage with the challenges of today's environmental crises. This is a case study that connects ethical consumption and corporate social responsibility with screen production and distribution. The central thrust of this article is to posit the example of dirtgirlworld as part of a global social movement towards a more ecologically sustainable existence. However, the suggestion here is that this case study also lends itself to much-needed conversation about how media studies can engage with our current ecological crises beyond the practice of eco-criticsm.

DVD use and the reported purchase of DVD players have grown markedly in recent years, and in 2002 Lyall Johnson claimed this was growing at the rate of 80 per cent annually. As a digital narrative format, it provides a means of viewing televisual products alternative to broadcast traditions and, significantly, beyond the ‘timeshifted’ video cassette in its analogue and serial format. From a perspective which considers the aesthetics of television production and spectatorship through new digital forms of dissemination, DVD has arguably motivated a style of viewing that sponsors the longer narrative arc, provides greater control to the viewer in terms of how the program is watched, its frequency and the sequence in which a series is viewed, and alters the temporality of television viewing in terms of shifting control of the viewing experience away from a centre—periphery broadcast network to the consumer, audience member or user.

Abstract:
Abstract. The paper deals with the relatively new worldwide trend of adding a “green” slant to business. The purpose of the research was twofold: firstly, to clarify the definition of “green business”, secondly, to test the hypothesis that the differences in business penetration by “green” ideas in various countries are to a large extent determined by national specifics in terms of economic development and public consciousness. Authors compare and contrast the commonly found definitions of “green business”, clarify a distinction between the “green business” notion and that of “sustainable business”, define the main agents of the business “greening” trend, discuss what it means to be “green” and what business practices qualify it as “green”. A quantitative empirical research method – a survey via a questionnaire distributed to respondents by e-mail or handed in directly – was used for the second purpose of the study. The survey was conducted by the authors in Lithuania and Ireland. The collected primary data were processed with the SPSS program and analysed by methods of correlation analysis. The research has revealed considerable differences in the “green” attitudes and practices of Lithuanian and Irish companies, the former being more concerned with costs than benefits of becoming “green”, and the latter demonstrating awareness that being “green” opens new revenue-raising opportunities.Key words: green business, environmental awareness, green attitudes and practices

Abstract:
Due to population aging worldwide, it is important for Health Care Systems to design new services fostering Active Aging dimensions (e.g., physical health, psychological well-being, social engagement, and lifelong learning). The aim of this pilot study was to develop new services fostering Active Aging dimensions by means of a 12-month green care informal learning program targeting 112 individuals among community-dwelling older people and day care center users. The impact of the intervention was assessed through three rounds of focus groups. Individuals’ perception of the training benefits depended on their health and social condition at baseline. The program improved the social participation and learning attitudes of community-dwelling older people and the perceived well-being and health of day care center users. Green care activities triggered an Active Aging virtuous spiral where learning new practical and relational competencies helped older people recognize their value. Thus, it is recommendable to include green care therapy within the practice of services for older people, especially day care centers.

Abstract:
The African American actor, writer, and director Spencer Williams, Jr. (1895–1969) has been the subject of a range of academic studies in recent years. Scholars have explored his pioneering work in early black film and his problematic role as “Andy Hogg Brown” in the television version of the Amos 'n' Andy radio program as a means of interpreting representations of black life within the confines of the Hollywood culture industry. This new scholarship, however, has reflected a limited and often inaccurate understanding of Williams' remarkable career. As will be discussed in this article, major events in Williams' life that have been unknown until now strongly influenced his filmmaking and his strategies to make the movie and television industries more racially inclusive. Most significantly, Williams was at different times a soldier in a segregated army unit, a convicted felon, and a committed artist and activist in Hollywood. These experiences helped to shape the themes and subject matter of his films, which ranged from religious dramas and singing cowboy westerns to backstage musicals and the first African American horror movie ever made.

Abstract:
Abstract The article discusses the evolution of conventions for TV-journalism based on the early history of Estonian Television (ETV) news. ETV was launched in 1955, its founding was coordinated by the Soviet authorities in Moscow. Although one of the initial motivations for founding the station was to produce ideological programming directed to Finnish audience, the Estonian team within the institution used the new medium to develop a new nationally oriented media organization. Over time this new journalistic institution became increasingly established and standardized both in terms of its practices as well as its use of textual formats. As the authorities lacked a clear understanding of television’s specific journalistic means and affordances the governance of ETV became an object of a rather multilayered control system. The article analyses this complex system of institutional power distribution and discusses its effects on the evolution of “cognitive modalities” expressed in specific programming formats, especially in regard to mechanisms of representing time and space. Also the “interpretative modalities” or the various, often conflicting mechanisms of managing “collectively shared meaning-systems” are discussed. For instance, in response to ritualistic and non-dialogic elements of the program that were conditioned by the soviet ideological apparatus the local journalists also aimed at representing the quotidian experiences of the common men and at establishing relatively free and dialogic relationships with their audiences and with their sense of reality. As a result, the program evolved as a mixture both ideologically and modally different as well as, paradoxically, mutually conditioning elements.

Abstract:
“Israeli Hope in Academia” is a program, designed by the president of the state of Israel, Reuven Rivlin. The program is based on the perception that Israeli society is changing, from having a clear majority and several minorities to a society comprised of four principal sectors that are roughly similar in size: secular Jews, religious Jews, Haredi (ultra-orthodox) Jews and Arabs. The program acts to encourage a more diverse and culturally competent higher education system that promotes partnership. One of the means to achieve that goal is to create meaningful educational interactions between people from academia and the younger generation of these sectors. Over the past year, students from various faculties in the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) took part in a course called “Green Ambassadors”, which corresponds with the “Israeli Hope” program. This course was considered an action learning course, which is a course that combines academic learning and social involvement that has an impact on the community. In order to illustrate the environmental topics and to achieve high participation levels of the pupils, the students created a mobile laboratory containing experiments and demonstrations in which the pupils took an active part. Thus, the course managed to make a significant impact on the community and achieve the goals set by the “Israeli Hope” program. This paper presents the “Israeli Hope” program, HIT and the “Green Ambassadors” course, as well as the methodology used to achieve the course’s goals. Finally, this paper will discuss the success levels of the course.

Abstract:
During the last 15 years more than 9,000 speckle interferometric measurements of binary stars have been collected using large optical telescopes (McAlister & Hartkopf 1988). Among them a significant contribution to the world speckle data has been made by the 6-m telscope near Zelenchuk. Up to now this instrument provides the maximal spatial resolution for single–aperture telescopes. First speckle images of the binary Capella were recorded at the telescope in 1977 (Balega & Tikhonov 1977), but we spent 5 more years to create special television techniques for photon counting and digital means for image processing before we started the regular interferometric program of binary observations in the wide range of stellar magnitudes. At first, the measurements were conducted in cooperation with French astronomers from the Centre d’Etudes et de Recherches Geodynamiques et Astronomiques using the optical camera and the television detector developed by Blazit et al. (1977). Since 1983 our equipment has been in use. The program of observations was oriented upon the traditional problems of multiple star speckle interferometry:1.Determination of stellar distances and masses for different types of binaries whose orbital elements can be derived. This includes already known fast visual and astrometric pairs with undetermined orbits, spectroscopic binaries that can be resolved directly, and newly discovered interferometric pairs which show fast orbital motion. The main attention was devoted to the late–type dwarfs in the vicinity of the Sun.2.Search for the secondary components whose existence could explain anomalies of stellar spectra or photometry (stars with composite spectra, occultation binaries, etc.)3.Study of unusual binaries (symbiotic stars, binaries with relativistic components, such as SS 433, etc.)

Abstract:
Green infrastructure (GI) is a new term that aims to accomplish sustainable development. It is a platform to achieve a balance between environmental preservation and urban development and achieve economic, social and environmental benefits. However, many countries are suffering from a lack of investment in GI benefits, especially developing countries. Therefore, this study aims to assess the level of attitude among practitioners through assessing their willingness to invest in GI benefits. A quantitative research approach and the questionnaire were designed, containing 17 main benefits of GI to achieve the aim of this study. The questionnaires were distributed manually to the agencies of planning and designing of urban area in Mukalla city. The total number of completed questionnaires entered into this study was 82—the SPSS program approved for results analysis. Relative important index (RII) was used to rank the items, means (X̄) was used to assess the level of attitude among practitioners. Pearson's Chi-square test (χ2) was used to explore the impact of the demographic factors of practitioners on their attitude. In contrast, multiple linear regression was used to predict the relation between attitude and demographic factors. Firstly, the overall means (X̄) revealed that the GI attitude among practitioners in Mukalla city was positive. Secondly, the cross-tabulation revealed that all-male, old and non-government practitioners having a positive attitude, similarly all highly experienced and postgraduate practitioners also had a positive attitude. Pearson's Chi-square test (χ2) showed that experience has no significant influence on GI's economic, social and environmental benefits. Thirdly, multiple linear regression showed that gender and education of practitioners contribute positively toward increasing the level of attitude among practitioners in Mukalla city.

The article considers the organization of pupils’ extracurricular activities in labor education to substantiate its structural components, which make up a holistic system of extracurricular work organization. The main structural components of extracurricular activities in labor education organization methodology are analyzed. They are the following: aim, objectives, functions, content, forms, methods, and means of implementation. It is proved that the aim of extracurricular activities in labor education is the initial component of its organization methodology, which determines pupils’ knowledge, skills, personal qualities (character traits), and mental, sensory, and motor qualities. General and specific objectives are the means of achieving the goal. The content component of pupils’ extracurricular activities in labor education is determined by the Standard educational program, school curriculum and curricula of labor education, subject, and interdisciplinary groups, electives, labor and creative associations of pupils. Organizational features of extracurricular activities in labor education structure are due to the number of pupils (mass, group, individual forms), and the time of its implementation (regular and periodic classes). To the organization methods of extracurricular activities labor education, we have selected the following teaching methods: upbringing and stimulation of pupils’ cognitive activity and independence. Organization means of pupils’ extracurricular activities in labor education are defined. They are the following: didactic (posters, technical documentation, presentations, samples, models, models of objects and processes to be studied), technical, means of material and technical support of work (simulators, ICT means, multimedia, television); means of material and technical support of pupils’ work (tools, devices, technological and auxiliary equipment, materials for laboratory and practical work in extracurricular activities).

Abstract:
Purpose – This paper aims to investigate a guest’s subjective appraisal of a hotel’s green marketing program, or green equity, along with value, brand and relationship equities on guest loyalty. Design/methodology/approach – Study 1 presents three models to explicate the role of a luxury hotel’s green initiatives in influencing guest loyalty. By means of structural equation modeling, one model emerges with the best fit. Study 2 examines how tourists assign economic value to a hotel’s green programs. Findings – Green equity plays a significant role in customers’ overall assessment of a hotel’s marketing programs; however, the effect is weaker when compared with the other indicators, including a hotel’s value proposition, brand image and loyalty programs. Furthermore, the results reveal that tourists are willing to pay a price premium for a hotel’s green marketing programs. Research limitations/implications – The paper links green marketing to the customer equity model and clarifies the impact of green marketing programs on loyalty and profitability. However, the study was conducted among luxury hotel guests and tourists in Macau, a leading gambling destination; thus, these customers might not have been concerned with green marketing initiatives. Practical implications – The results show that green initiatives are beneficial as long as managers include these initiatives in their overall strategic marketing programs that also promote firm value propositions, brand images and reputation. Originality/value – The paper clarifies the role of green marketing programs in hospitality and shows how hotels can benefit from enhanced guest loyalty and decreased operational expenses by implementing green initiatives.

Abstract:
IntroductionThe University of Cincinnati has been doing NeuroVisual Training (NVT) as part of an injury prevention and performance enhancement program since 2010. We recently noticed that some athletes have substantial differences in visual reaction time based on color, specifically red versus green. We set out to assess if they may have had any color processing deficiencies.MethodsWe identified 4 out of 107 screened athletes with deficiencies in their ability to react to green compared to red. After identifying these color deficiencies, we developed a protocol to assess and manage the said deficiencies. The protocol included assessing for color blindness with the Ishihara plates, color Visual Evoked Potentials (cVEP), and color-based visual reaction times.ResultsNone of the individuals had color blindness based on the Ishihara plates. There were significant differences in visual reaction times for red and green with red being significantly slower. cVEP mean red P100 latency was 115.5 ± 3.2 ms versus 104.4 ± 1.3 ms for green, and mean voltage was 7.30 ± 1.4 µV versus 9.20 ± 1.4 µV for green. DiscussionNVT is becoming a mainstream means to improve performance and safety for athletes in competitive sports. It was interesting to note that high caliber athletes in a division 1 college football program were showing relatively slow visual reaction times. We were able to train them to a higher level of NVT proficiency once we included color-based tasks that best suited their ability to see and process quickly. People performing NVT on athletes may wish to be aware of and consider checking for color processing deficiencies such that one can train the athletes to the highest level possible.

Abstract:
This community service program aims to implement a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) to provide electrical energy in tourist areas called rice field tourism, in order to reduce the cost of purchasing electrical energy for managers. Besides, it is also a means of education for visitors to introduce green energy in the future. The design of PLTS is adjusted to the requirements of the load that will be served at the tourist attraction. Before carrying out development, the Team first conducted outreach to local residents to introduce technology in rural areas. After the rotating program for managing tourism objects, in this case BUMDes Johar Mandiri, was given training in the operation, maintenance / maintenance of the solar power generation system, so that after the program it was able to solve the troubleshooting that occurred both in the generation system, control and distribution system. The resulting capacity of the Solar Power Plant in this Sawah Tour is 3500 WP which is used to meet all lighting needs. With this program, managers can reduce costs by Rp. 3,000,000 / month for electricity needs.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of broiler chickens in different lighting programs. Broiler chickens were fed on feeders of different colours at different breeding phases. In total, 240 Cobb500™ chicks mixed at 1 d of age were used. They were distributed in a completely randomized design. The treatments followed a 2 × 4 factorial design: two lighting programs (continuous and intermittent), and four colours of feeders (white, green, blue, and red). The birds were evaluated for weekly productive performance and the data were submitted to analysis of variance and later Tukey’s test for comparison of means. In the periods 1–7, 1–21, and 1–42 d of age, lighting programs and feeder colours affected weight gain, feed intake, and feed conversion. Intermittent red feeders influenced positively the performance of birds. It is possible to replace conventional lighting programs for intermittent lighting programs. Red feeders exert a positive influence on the performance of broiler chickens.

Abstract:
One of the growing epidemics in the world today is HIV/AIDS. In the cities with high mobility, bus drivers are considered as the risk group for HIV/AIDS. Most of these younger people do not have access to information, condoms, supportive services which enable them to have safer sex. A descriptive cross sectional study was done to access knowledge about HIV/AIDS among drivers of Birgunj Bus Park. The analysis of the data revealed that majority of the respondents were between ages 20-24 years; have heard from media (radio, Television and newspapers); unsafe sex is the means of transmission and using condom during sexual intercourse can prevent HIV/AIDS. The present study strongly recommends that there is immediate need of program to create awareness among drivers including co-workers, vulnerable youths and other high risk groups such as migrant populations. Abstract:
This article describes the development and pilot testing of a computer-based, multiple-behavior obesity prevention program for adolescents. Using the Transtheoretical Model as a framework, this intervention offers individualized feedback based on readiness to engage in physical activity, to consume fruits and vegetables, and to limit television viewing. Focus groups and interviews with students, teachers, school administrators, and experts guided the development. Forty-five students participated in a baseline intervention session and completed a 16-item acceptability measure. Ratings were positive, with item means ranging from 3.60–4.75 on a 5-point scale. Student responses to open-ended questions aided in the enhancement of the intervention, for which an effectiveness trial begins in September 2006. This formative work demonstrated the acceptability of this school-based intervention approach, which can be promoted and prescribed by school nurses. Further, if found effective, it can be disseminated as an efficient, low-cost, population-based approach designed to address the epidemic of obesity.

Abstract:
Employees as one element in a company have rights and obligations to the company. One of the rights for employees is leave or permission for a certain time. The obligation of a company is to provide such leave or permission. In the process of applying for leave or employee permits so far, many use conventional processes. Conventional here means still using a form in the form of a sheet of paper leave or permission and must be sent to various parties for approval. This will take a long time and is not in line with the Go Green Program that is being carried out by many companies. Reduce, Re-use, Recycle and Replace are the four concepts of the Go Green program. Replacing the application for leave or permission that has been using a form (paper) by using a web-based application program is a step forward by the company to implement the Go Green concept. Web-based application programs in addition to reducing paper usage also do not require large physical data storage areas. This can be realized by making a web-based leave application which is certainly easier in terms of access to all employees. Meanwhile, data storage can be stored in cloud storage media. In this study, an application design will be made using UML (Unified Modeling Language) to be used as a reference during development. UML provides many diagrams, but in this study only a few diagrams were used. The results of the study indicate that application design using UML can facilitate communication between stakeholders, can make it easier for programmers to translate into programming languages. Using UML can reduce application creation errors and speed up completion.
