Abstract:
Una leyenda moderna dice que el Santo Grial fue escondido a O Cebreiro en Galicia. Me encontré con una posible explicación de esta en la realización de investigaciones sobre San Gerardo de Aurillac, santo francés del siglo décimo. Había en la Edad Media un convento dedicado a él, mas tarde abandonado. Fue también un milagro recordado por haber tenido lugar allí, donde un sacerdote, no convencido de la transubstanciación, vio el pan y el vino ritual transforma en carne y sangre. Cuando San Gerardo se mencionó a los peregrinos que pasaran por O Cebreiro, cofundaron su nombre –Sant Gral en gallego– con el cáliz del milagro y lo mal identificaron como el Santo Grial-Sant Grial en gallego. La leyenda se elaboró por Ramón Cabanillas, poeta gallego moderno, de manera nostálgica que recuerda San Gerardo y sus biografías medievales: una mezcla de devoción religiosa con un código marcial.

El mito del Santo Grial se ha asociado, normalmente, a la búsqueda, a la espiritualidad, a la salvación; en una palabra: a la redención. Lo que no podemos, sin embargo, afirmar desde ahora es que se trate de una redención física o espiritual ¿O ambas? Lo que aquí nos proponemos hacer es, aunque de un modo un tanto vertiginoso, buscar sus orígenes, algunos aspectos de la hermenéutica simbólica que ha surgido a partir de la especulación del tema, resumir dos de sus versiones literarias y una operística, y bordear su esencia fenoménica desde una lectura de corte psicoanalítico. Y, en la búsqueda del mito del Grial es probable que demos con nuestro Grial.

Durante años, Grial fue “la revista” por excelencia en Galicia, y, si bien es cierto que no produjo una cantidad significativa de traducciones, las que tradujo eran cualitativamente importantes. El espíritu universal que le imprimieron sobre todo sus fundadores, orientándola a actuar como un vehículo de cultura en Galicia y promoviendo el establecimiento de puentes entre la cultura universal y la gallega, se halla aún presente en la actualidad. La revista está abierta a los nuevos valores de la cultura contemporánea. Los artículos publicados en Grial muestran una doble orientación: la de ofrecer información sobre la realidad gallega, y, a la vez, la de reflejar los diferentes aspectos de la cultura universal. Grial es aún hoy en día una fuente esencial de información para investigadores de varias disciplinas, especialmente literatura, lingüística, filología, historia y traducción, especialidades a las que esta revista ha dedicado una gran cantidad de páginas desde su creación.

En las letras inglesas, el mito de la Tierra Baldía, célebre sobre todo por su inscripción en las narrativas del ciclo artúrico, se convirtió en un claro ejemplo de mito con un gran peso moral. Y, como todo mito, la Tierra Baldía ha evolucionado y el Grial, que la restituiría en paraíso, ha abandona la función curativa y se convierte en un imposible. En Machines Like Me (2019), Charlie hace frente a la adopción de un androide, Adam, que desde el comienzo se definirá como «el Grial de la Ciencia» y que, poco a poco, adquirirá un comportamiento más humano que el de su padre adoptivo. Las frustraciones de Charlie y la consecuente devastación de su vida personal, con Adam como eje motor, le embarcarán en la búsqueda de su propio paraíso en una Tierra Baldía asolada por la guerra de las Malvinas, donde Reino Unido será derrotado.

O Movimento Armorial tem tido, antes e a partir de sua oficialização (1970), os mais variados resultados estéticos nos diversos campos artísticos. Porém, o conjunto mais significativo de formulações teóricas a seu respeito esteve sempre a cargo de seu criador e maior incentivador, Ariano Suassuna. Este escritor construiu até hoje uma trajetória como artista, professor, teórico e gestor cultural, coerente com os princípios armoriais e com a sua interpretação da cultura brasileira, identificada como uma Nação Castanha . Nosso objetivo, neste trabalho, é discutir, por um lado, a complementaridade entre discurso e obra de Ariano Suassuna quanto à afirmação épica das identidades populares (Canclini, 2005) subjacente à Nação Castanha . E, por outro, de que forma essa afirmação é retomada e reforçada nas experiências de dança armorial desde a década de 1970; mas também reformulada pelo conjunto da trajetória do Grupo Grial (existente desde 1997 e atuante até hoje), através da noção de corpo‐história (Louppe, 2004), implicado em todo o percurso do grupo e levado como questão para seus últimos espetáculos. Consideramos, na nossa discussão, variados depoimentos, artigos, entrevistas de Ariano Suassuna, mas em especial seu romance armorial brasileiro , A Pedra do Reino (1971), e sua tese de livre docência, A Onça Castanha e a Ilha Brasil (1976). No âmbito da dança, discutimos as várias tentativas de realizar uma dança armorial desde a década de 1970, sobretudo os investimentos no Balé Armorial do Nordeste e no Balé Popular do Recife; mas focalizamos nossa atenção no trabalho do Grupo Grial, especialmente em três espetáculos representativos das suas diferentes fases: A Demanda do Graal Dançado (1998); As Visagens de Quaderna ao Sol do Reino Encoberto (2000); e Ilha Brasil Vertigem (2006)

"La matèria artúrica en la literatura catalana medieval i les seves connexions europees" vol explorar les possibilitats d’aquesta matèria més enllà de l’esfera estrictament catalana. En primer lloc, es proposa l’anàlisi de tots els treballs de Chrétien de Troyes, un autèntic mestre de la “conjointure”, que establí les bases per al posterior desenvolupament de la matèria artúrica. A més, l’últim dels seus "romans", que restà inacabat, proporcionà una excel·lent font d’inspiració per a la següent generació d’escriptors, a la vegada que el Graal va esdevenir el gran misteri capaç de fer-se amb més d’una solució. El fascinant procés de transformació del Graal ens mena cap a la literatura catalana amb una forta convicció que ha d’haver alguna cosa més que allò que realment conservem. Quatre casos (La Stòria del Sant Grasal, els fragment del Tristany, La Faula de Guillem de Torroella i La Tragèdia de Lançalot de Mossèn Gras) exemplifiquen diferents resultats de la difusió a través de tota Europa de les històries del rei Artús i els cavallers de la Taula Rodona. Les conclusions sobre això són clares: potser el material seleccionat pugui ésser ampliat, però hem de pensar que el profund coneixement del context històric de l’època, els treballs codicològics i l’estudi dels manuscrits escrits en altres llengües són les assignatures pendents en aquesta qüestió.

Para hacerlo, la tesis propone analizar todos los trabajos de Chrétien de Troyes, un auténtico maestro de la “conjointure”, que estableció las bases para el posterior desarrollo de la materia artúrica. Además, el último de sus "romans", que quedó inacabado, proporcionó una excelente fuente de inspiración para la siguiente generación de escritores, al mismo tiempo que el Grial se convirtió en el gran misterio capaz de dar con más de una solución. El fascinante proceso de transformación del Grial nos conduce hacia la literatura catalana con una fuerte convicción que tiene que haber alguna cosa más que lo que realmente se ha conservado. Cuatro casos (La Stòria del Sant Grasal, los fragmentos del Tristany, La Faula de Guillem de Torroella y La Tragèdia de Lançalot de Mossèn Gras) ejemplifican diferentes resultados de la difusión por toda Europa de las historias del rey Arturo y sus caballeros de la Tabla Redonda. Las conclusiones sobre esto son claras: quizás el material seleccionado pueda ser ampliado, pero tenemos que pensar que el profundo conocimiento del contexto histórico de la época, los trabajos codicológicos y el estudio de los manuscritos escritos en otras lenguas son las asignaturas pendientes sobre esta cuestión.
"La matèria artúrica en la literatura catalana medieval i les seves connexions europees" wants to explore the possibilities of this subject beyond the Catalan sphere. First, it is proposed the analysis of all works of Chrétien de Troyes, a truly master of “conjointure”, that established the bases of the later development of Arthurian Matter. In addition, the last of his "romans", without a proper end, provided an excellent background to the next generation of writers, and the Grail became a huge mystery with a more than one solution. The fascinating process of Grail’s transformation leads us to the Catalan literature with a strong certitude that it had to be more than what we actually preserve. Four cases (La Stòria del Sant Grasal, the Tristan fragments, La Faula of Guillem de Torroella and La Tragèdia de Lançalot of Mossèn Gras) exemplifies different results of the spread across Europe of the stories about King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The conclusions on this topic are clear: maybe the selected material for this work can be enlarged, but we must keep in mind that a detailed knowledge of historical context, the codicology works and the study of other language’s manuscripts are the pending issues in this subject.

Resumo: Esta tese descreve a análise da Dança Negra elaborada e ressignificada em dois diferentes contextos sócio-histórico-cultural brasileiro. Para isto realiza-se uma análise das diferenças e similitudes nas re-elaborações etno-ética-estéticacoreográfica e dramatúrgica do Balé Folclórico da Bahia/Salvador/BA e do Grupo Grial de Dança/Recife/PE a partir dos elementos presentes nos signos, símbolos, mitos e danças de origem afro-brasileira. As questões levantadas apontam que estas danças podem ser fontes de produção artística e criação coreográfica concebendo uma proposição dramatúrgica para a Dança Negra Contemporânea Brasileira. Transpondo fronteiras geográficas e culturais, a tese descreve as possibilidades de pesquisa e criação artística a partir da temática afro-brasileira baseada nas relações tecidas entre corpo, memória, tradição e contemporaneidade. A metodologia utilizada será a análise fenomenológica orientada na proposta da etnóloga Juana Elbein dos Santos. O referencial teórico traz autores como Bastide (1983), Kerkhove (1997), Munanga (1999), Santos I. (2006), Santos J. (1996), Silva e Calaça (2006), Suassuna (1977, 2004) e Verger (1997) para ratificar as idéias apresentadas. A análise videográfica e a utilização dos princípios da dança africana são os elementos norteadores do processo de investigação das criações coreográficas do Balé Folclórico da Bahia e do Grupo Grial de Dança. Estas estratégias possibilitam apontar caminhos que explicam como estas companhias de dança lidam com a estética e os conceitos de arte africana no âmbito da Dança Negra Brasileira Contemporânea Brasileira. Propõese uma dramaturgia para a Dança Negra Contemporânea, baseada em princípios etno-ético-estético-coreográfico referenciada na pluralidade das danças tradicionais populares de origem afro-brasileira.
Abstract: This thesis describing the analysis of the Black Dance elaborated and re-signified in two different Brazilian social-historic-cultural contexts. For this one, accomplishes an analysis of the differences and similarities in the re-elaborations ethno-ethics-aesthetic-choreographic and dramaturge of the Folkloric Ballet of Bahia/Salvador/BA and the Grial Group of Dance/Recife/PE from the elements present in the signs, symbols, myths and dances of Afro-Brazilian origin. The raised questions point that these dances can be sources of artistic production and choreographic creation conceiving a dramaturge proposal for Black Brazilian Contemporaneous Dance. Transposing geographic and cultural boundaries, the thesis describes the possibilities of research and artistic creation from the Afro- Brazilian thematic based on the relations between body, memory, tradition and contemporaneousness. The methodology is guided in the proposal of the phenomenology analysis by Juana Elbein dos Santos. The theoretical references bring authors as Bastide (1983), Kerkhove (1997)), Munanga (1999), Santos I. (2006), Santos J. (1996), Silva and Calaça (2006), Suassuna (1977, 2004) and Verger (1997) to ratify the presented ideas. The video graphic analysis and the application of the African Dance principles are the guided elements of the process of investigation of the choreographic creations of the Folkloric Ballet of Bahia and the Grial Group of Dance. These strategies to enable to point ways that explain as these dance companies deal with the aesthetic and the African Art concepts in the scope of Black Brazilian Contemporaneous Dance. To propose a dramaturgy for the Black Brazilian Contemporaneous Dance based on the ethno-ethics-Aestheticchoreographic principles referenced in the plurality of the popular traditional dances of the Afro-Brazilian origin.

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior
O presente trabalho tem como principais objetivos apontar os trechos de teor clÃssico presentes n' A Demanda do Santo Graal (ediÃÃo portuguesa), novela de cavalaria da primeira metade do sÃculo XIII, e explicar o porquà de excertos dessa natureza no Ãmbito da obra literÃria em questÃo. Procura, ainda, mostrar de que modo a Idade MÃdia realiza uma retomada de valores da AntigÃidade clÃssica; sobretudo no que concerne à postura do cavaleiro medieval: chegou-se à conclusÃo de que este tinha o herÃi que se movimenta nas epopÃias e nos mitos greco-romanos como ideal de bravura, de virtude e de lealdade, bem como à de que o imaginÃrio deste (ou âcriado em torno desteâ) era praticamente o mesmo daquele, por conta da semelhanÃa existente entre os contextos histÃrico-literÃrios em que surgiram ambos. A teoria que serve de base para a realizaÃÃo deste trabalho à a da Residualidade, elaborada por Roberto Pontes, crÃtico, ensaÃsta e professor da graduaÃÃo e do programa de pÃs-graduaÃÃo em Letras da Universidade Federal do Cearà â UFC. Durante a pesquisa, os conceitos de imaginÃrio e residual, propostos, respectivamente, pela Ãcole des Annales e por Raymond Williams, crÃtico literÃrio de orientaÃÃo marxista, fazem-se tambÃm presentes. No que concerne à metodologia, deve-se dizer que a pesquisa foi realizada, basicamente, por meio da leitura de clÃssicos da Literatura das antigas GrÃcia e Roma (IlÃada e OdissÃia, de Homero; Eneida, de VirgÃlio; e Metamorfoses, de OvÃdio) e de novelas de cavalaria portuguesas (Amadis de Gaula e, principalmente, A Demanda do Santo Graal), bem como por meio da Literatura Comparada, visto que houve um trabalho de confronto entre esses textos. Por fim, esta investigaÃÃo mostra-se relevante à comunidade acadÃmica porque aborda, numa novela tipicamente medieval e cristà (estamos falando d‟A Demanda do Santo Graal), um importante aspecto das novelas de cavalaria: o clÃssico, tÃo negligenciado pela maioria dos estudiosos que se debruÃam sobre as novelas do ciclo bretÃo.
The present work has as main objective to point the passages of classic content presented in the medieval novel A Demanda do Santo Graal (portuguese edition of The Quest for the Holy Grail), a novel about chivalry of the first half of the thirteenth century, in order to explain the reason why exist these passages in the novel in question. Another objective is to show how the Middle Ages realize a retaking of values of classical Antiquity. especially with regard to the attitude of the medieval knight: this was the greek hero (or roman hero) as the ideal of bravery, virtue and loyalty; the imaginary of medieval cavalier (or "the imaginary created around of the medieval knight") was practically the same imaginary of greek hero (or roman hero), because of the similarity between the historical and literary context in which they both arose. The theory that underpins this work is the Teoria da Residualidade, created by Robe1to Pontes, critic, essayist and professor of Literature of the Universidade Federal doo Cearà - UFC. During the research, the concepts of imaginary and residual, proposed respectively by the Ãcole des Annales and Raymond Williams, a marxist literary critic, are also present. With regard to the methodology, it must be said that the research was conducted, at first, through readings of classics of the ancient Literature (Homer's Iliand and Odyssey, Vergil's Aeneid and Ovid's Metamorphoses) and portuguese novels about chivalry (Amadis de Gaula and, especially, A Demanda do Santo Graal) and through comparative literature, since there was a work of comparison between these texts. Finally, this research is relevant to the academic community because in mentions, in a medieval and christian novel (A Demanda do Santo Graal), an important aspect of the novels about chivalry: the classic, so much neglected by most scholars which deal with the novels of the breton cycle.

O recorte temático desta tese são a Vita Apostolica e o Mistério Sacramental como sentido existencial e missão cristã para os homens do Ocidente Europeu na Idade Média Central (séculos XI-XIII) O documento a ser investigado é a versão alemã de Heidelberg do roman arturiano A Demanda do Santo Graal, cujo manuscrito germânico original foi compilado ao final do século XIII. O corpus corresponde ao códice 147 da Bibliotheca Palatina Germaniae de Heidelberg, não se tratando de mera versão dos originais bretões para o alemão medieval (Mittelhochdeutsch). A presente fonte constitui um corpus inaugural, um texto propriamente alemão, ainda que filiado ao Ciclo da Vulgata (Ciclo do Pseudo-Gautier Map), que correspondeu ao primeiro ciclo de prosificação das narrativas do Graal. Pretende-se perscrutar um elemento central do imaginário que caracterizou a experiência dos homens do Ocidente Europeu no apogeu da Idade Média Central. Tratase do sacramento, e a compreensão do sentido sacramental da existência humana no plano da imanência constitui relevante senha de compreensão e predicação de significado às experiências concretas destes homens. Isso se pode atingir por intermédio da apreensão do elemento axial de seu imaginário.
The thematic cutting of this dissertation are the Vita Apostolica and the sacramental mystery as life meaning and Christian mission for the people of the European Western World during the Central Middle Ages (11th to 13th centuries). The document to be analysed is the German version of the Arthurian romance The Quest of the Holy Grail, whose original German manuscript was compiled by the end of 13th century. The corpus corresponds to the codex 147 pertaining to the Bibliotheca Palatina Germaniae in Heidelberg, and this is no sheer translation of the original Bretonnic version to Middle German (Mittelhochdeutsch). The present source constitutes an original corpus, a properly German text, although linked up to the Vulgate Cycle (Pseudo-Gautier Map Cycle), which corresponds to the first prosification cycle entailing the Grail narratives. This study aims at scruting a central element of the imaginary concerning the historical experience of people of Western European World at the peak the Central Middle Ages. It is the sacrament, and the comprehension of the sacramental meaning of human life in the sphere of immanence builds up a relevant key to understanding and endowing concrete experiences with meaning. This can be achieved by means of aprehending the shaft element concernig their imaginary.

Detta arbete är det första steget i en lång process vars slutgiltiga mål är att utveckla en metod för automatisk övergång från en icke-generisk objektorienterad applikation till en generisk.

Helst borde stöd för en sådan transformation implementeras i en utvecklingsmiljö, IDE. En analogi skulle kunna dras till faktorisering av klasser, en operation som stöds av de flesta utvecklingsmiljöer idag. Som ett första steg i en pågående process är detta arbete tänkt att fungera som ett icke-trivialt exempel för framtida analys. Exemplet består av ett icke-generisk och ett generisk grafpaket som är skrivet i Java 1.4.2 respektive Java 5.0. Uppsatsen beskriver övergången från den icke-generiska till den generiska lösningen på systematiskt sätt som går att upprepa. Tanken är att detta arbete även skall kunna appliceras på andra språk och applikationer i framtiden.


This work is the first step in a long process, which final goal is to develop a method that automatically allows you to go from a non-generic object-oriented program to a generic one. Preferably, support for such a conversion should be implemented in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE). An analogy could be drawn to the factorisation of classes, an operation supported by the most common IDEs today. As a first step in an ongoing process, this work is meant to be a non-trivial example for future analysis. The example project constitutes of a non-generic and a generic graph package, which is written in Java 1.4.2 and Java 5.0 respectively. The thesis describes the transition from the non-generic to the generic solution in a systematic and repeatable way. The idea is that this work could be applied to other languages and applications in the future, as well.

Detta examensarbete på 30 hp har utförts i samarbete med Creative Entrepreneurs Solutions(CES), en icke vinstdrivande organisation baserad i Ondangwa i norra Namibia. MarieJohansson, grundare av CES, hade identifierat ett behov av energieffektiva grillar för öppnamarknaden då den huvudsakliga energikällan ved utgör en stor del av utgifterna för de som säljertillagad mat på marknaden. Syftet med projektet har därför varit att ta fram ett koncept för attminska vedkonsumtionen.För att förstå problemet och de förutsättningar som gäller i Namibia utfördes en två månaderlång fältstudie. Användarinvolvering har varit en viktig del under arbetets gång och därför harintervjuer och observationer utförda på marknaden i Ondangwa och närliggande städer utgjort enstor del av informationsinhämtandet. För att vidga vyerna har även andra metoder för matlagningän just grillning undersökts både hemma hos privatpersoner och på marknader. Under fältstudienundersöktes även olika material, möjliga tillverkningsmetoder och distributionssätt för dettilltänkta konceptet.Under fältstudien uppdagades att det var vanligt att använda två eldar för att kunna både grillaoch laga mat i kastrull. Ved utgör cirka 18% av kostnaden för matlagning under en dag och dengenomsnittliga vinsten vid försäljning av grillat kött är N$ 13 per dag. Av resultaten frånfältstudien togs sedan en kravspecifikation fram varpå ett koncept utvecklades där grillning ochmatlagning i kastrull kan ske med en och samma eld.Av konceptet byggdes sedan en prototyp som demonstrerades på öppna marknaden i Ondangwaför att ge de tilltänkta användarna möjlighet att kommentera konceptet och komma med idéer påmöjliga förbättringar. Efter en utvärdering byggdes och testades sedan en ny prototyp i Sverige.Då konceptet kombinerer grillning och matlagning med en och samma eld kan den mängd vedsom behövs reduceras med cirka 30% vilket innebär att försäljarna sparar cirka N$ 8 per dag.

The findings from the field study resulted ina specification of requirements and thereafter a concept combining cooking and barbecuing wasdeveloped.The concept was demonstrated at the open market in Ondangwa to let the users give theiropinion on the concept and to get ideas of what refinements could be made. Some adjustmentswere made and a second prototype was built and tested in Sweden. Since the concept combinesboth cooking and barbecuing only one fire is needed which reduces the firewood consumptionwith approximately 30% meaning the vendors at the open market would save N$ 8 per day.

Abstract:
This thesis aims to demonstrate the construction of masculinity in Grail romances, investigating the manner in which models of masculinity are created in relation to other models and the discourse of the masculine with the feminine, referring to studies in gender undertaken by Simon Grant and Sarah Kay. An important notion that is assumed at the opening of this study is the supposition that the hero of a romance represents the ideal model of masculinity, and it is this supposition I examine in this thesis. The investigation into the construction of masculinity necessitates an examination of the evolution of chivalry, evaluating the influence of theologians such as John of Salisbury, the manifestation of the Church’s view of chivalry in the Grail texts and its importance in creating an ideology of chivalry. This is the starting point from where an assessment of the construction of masculinity can begin, firstly by a study of the discourse of the ideal model of masculinity with a similar model, a case in which like is compared with like, incorporating a discussion of friendship derived from the Ciceronian model and that of Aelred of Rievalux through which is developed the notion of perfection in an individual inspiring other individuals leading on to the Girardian concept of the mimesis of desire as a mechanism by which the ideal model is imitated by similar models. Contrast is another means of the construction of the masculine ideal and the first point of call in the creation of the ideal model of masculinity is the interactions of the masculine with the feminine. These interactions serve the promotion of masculine subjectivity at the expense of the feminine and the interaction further bonds between the masculine that lead to imitation of the model by rendering an alternative model of masculinity identical to that of the hero, or the ideal model.

This chapter and the next propose that analogies can be drawn between Piers Plowman and the French grail texts, the Queste del Saint Graal and the Perlesvaus, though the chivalric materials are also radically transformed in Piers Plowman. The connection is cemented by a further set of connections to the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus and its narrative of the harrowing of hell and Joseph of Arimathea. In the romances and Piers Plowman a theological version of chivalric aventure foregrounds the mysterious and grace-dependent aspects of the spiritual life; the romances also contain enigmatic figures of seemingly involuntary guilt. However, these emphases stand in marked tension with other aspects of these texts, such as their more clear-cut allegorical glosses and their many practical ethical instructions. This is a tension that is particularly marked in Piers Plowman, where Langland repeatedly insists on the obligation to do penance and actively pursue dowel. The first part of this chapter introduces the Queste del Saint Graal, the Perlesvaus and the Gospel; it also provides evidence that Langland could have known both grail romances. The body of the chapter explores the rich texture of romance and grail romance allusions in the later parts of Piers Plowman (B.16–20), but also comments on the work that a series of grail romance structures do in the poem more generally.

Abstract:
The Geospatial Remote Assessment for Ingress Locations (GRAIL) Tools software is a geospatial product developed to locate austere entry landing zones (LZs) for military aircraft. Using spatial datasets like land classification and slope, along with predefined LZ geometry specifications, GRAIL Tools generates binary suitability filters that distinguish between suitable and unsuitable terrain. GRAIL Tools combines input suitability filters, searches for LZs at user‐defined orientations, and plots results. To refine GRAIL Tools, we: (a) verified software output; (b) conducted validation assessments using five unpaved LZ sites; and (c) assessed input dataset resolution on outcomes using 30 and 1‐m datasets. The software was verified and validated in California and the Baltics, and all five LZs were correctly identified in either the 30 or the 1‐m data. The 30‐m data provided numerous LZs for consideration, while the 1‐m data highlighted hazardous conditions undetected in the 30‐m data. Digital elevation model grid size affected results, as 1‐m data produced overestimated slope values. Resampling the data to 5 m resulted in more realistic slopes. Results indicate GRAIL Tools is an asset the military can use to rapidly assess terrain conditions.
