Abstract:
This article challenges the empirical generalization that the possessed element in the Hebrew possessive dative (PD) construction cannot be an external argument ( Borer and Grodzinsky 1986 ), a generalization that has been leveraged in the use of the PD construction as an unaccusativity diagnostic. An acceptability judgment experiment shows that the PD construction is dispreferred when the possessor is less prominent than the possessee on the animacy or definiteness scale; however, it shows no effect of unaccusativity, raising serious doubts regarding the construction’s validity as an unaccusativity diagnostic.

Abstract:
The approaches to the problems of applying of analogy of the criminal procedural law in the works of the well-known Ukrainian scientist, founder of Kharkiv school of criminal procedural law, Morits Markovych Grodzinskyi, were investigated. The basic hypotheses of the scientist are considered through the prism of modern problems, which still remain unsolved in modern science of criminal procedural law and legislation. Therefore, the clarification of the legal nature of analogy as one of the means to overcome the gaps in legislation and the possibility of applying the law by analogy in criminal proceedings has not ceased to be relevant. The author notes that in view of the modern understanding of law, based on the increased requirements to the quality of the law, legal certainty, modern advances in legislative technology, the researchers began to return to these traditional problems and examine them at a new paradigmatic level. On the basis of the analysis of modern multidisciplinary scientific approaches regarding the possibility of using the analogy as means to overcome the gaps in regulatory regulation in the criminal process, it is noted that M.M. Grodzinskyi reasonably substantiated the conclusion about the existence of the institute of analogy in criminal proceedings as the most effective means of overcoming the gaps. The approach of the scientist, who, while studying the application of analogy in the criminal process, focuses on its correlation with the notion of disseminating interpretation; the correlation of such concepts as the analogy of law and the analogy of the statute are disclosed. The author points out that M.M. Grodzinskyi has always associated the use of analogy in the criminal process with the need to comply with the conditions, under which its application is possible. In particular, the scientist defined such conditions: 1) lack of law that directly resolves a particular issue; 2) overcoming of the gap should be in strict conformity with those tasks that are subject to the criminal procedural norms; 3) in is necessary to respect the rights that the criminal procedural law guarantees to the participants in the process.

Abstract:
Chien and Wexler (1990) reported that children obeyed Principle B of binding theory when the antecedent was a quantifier but not when the antecedent was referential. This was argued by Grodzinsky and Reinhart (1993) to support Reinhart's (1983) theory according to which Principle B affects only bound pronouns. Since then, other studies have supported the asymmetry between referential and quantifier antecedents. This article, however, argues that previously unremarked experimental factors lessen the force of all these studies, and it points to other relevant experiments that seem to showthat children do not obey Principle B at all. It reviews previously offered theories on the acquisition of Principle B that are compatible with the latter view of the facts.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to examine whether adult L2 learners of English have the same kinds of problem interpreting pronouns as L1 learning children do. Based on Reinhart and Reuland’s (1993) ‘Reflexivity’ and Grodzinsky and Reinhart’s (1993) ‘Rule I’, specific error patterns were predicted for 58 Japanese high school students, as compared to 14 English native controls, and 40 Japanese native controls. The experimental sentences included simple as well as complex sentences with both quantified and referential antecedents. Results indicate that L2 learners do have similar problems to L1 learning children. Specifically, they can use syntactic and lexical knowledge of English pronouns in interpreting pronoun reference but they have difficulty using the pragmatic principle Rule I.

Abstract:
This paper is intended to show that a proposal (Grodzinsky & Friederici 2006) on dissociation between two types of movement (MOVEXP and MOVEV) is not supported by a critical review of data found in the literature of studies dealing with agrammatic aphasia. This procedure is considered to be of fundamental relevance for studies that plan to use evidence derived from studies based on linguistic aphasiology, since this field exhibits some problematic aspects concerning data analysis. Some conclusions reviewed here, thought to be straightforward, are, indeed, subject to questioning. In other cases, there are contradictory results that are commonly ignored in the construction of hypotheses. It is offered, then, a new posture on the consideration of the validity of studies that focus on aphasic syndromes within a linguistic framework.

Abstract:
This paper aims at examining whether grammatical errors produced by Broca’s aphasics are a consequence of a selective impairment of functional categories in three closely related Ibero-Romance languages — Catalan, Galician, and Spanish — for which almost no work had hitherto been done. In addition, a reinterpretation will be proposed under cartographical terms (Cinque 1999, 2002, 2006, Belletti 2004, Rizzi 2004) of previous structural neurolinguistic models of agrammatic production, more specifically the Tree-Pruning Hypothesis (Friedmann 1994, Friedmann & Grodzinsky 1997, and subsequent work). Cartography has been applied to the field of language variation. However, the present article constitute a completely new use. Since the Tree-Pruning Hypothesis was based on a model of monolithic nodes, the application of the cartographic tree structure provides us with further insights about the degree of structural preservation or damage of functional categories.

Abstract:
Over the years, models proposed for second-language (L2) processing have been remarkably parallel to those proposed for Broca's aphasia. Differences between agrammatic and unaffected language processing have been explained, e.g., in terms of lack of detailed syntactic structure building (Grodzinsky, 1995), resource deficits (Haarman, Just & Carpenter, 1997), slow syntactic processing (Burkhardt, Avrutin, Piñango & Ruigendijk, 2008), or slowed lexical access (Love, Swinney, Walenski & Zurif, 2008). Each of these approaches have their homolog in L2 processing (e.g., Clahsen & Felser, 2006; McDonald, 2006; Dekydtspotter, Schwartz & Sprouse, 2006; Hopp, 2013, respectively). It is therefore not surprising that Cunnings's proposal (Cunnings, 2016) parallels another idea in aphasia and aging research, namely that deviations from healthy young adult monolingual sentence processing can be attributed to an increased susceptibility to interference (e.g., Sheppard, Walenski, Love & Shapiro, 2015).

Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
Measured values of the swelling pressure of charged proteoglycans (PG) in solution (Williams RPW, and Comper WD; Biophysical Chemistry 36:223, 1990) and the ionic strength dependence of the equilibrium modulus of PG-rich articular cartilage (Eisenberg SR, and Grodzinsky AJ; J Orthop Res 3: 148, 1985) are compared to the predictions of two models. Each model is a representation of electrostatic forces arising from charge present on spatially fixed macromolecules and spatially mobile micro-ions. The first is a macroscopic continuum model based on Donnan equilibrium that includes no molecular-level structure and assumes that the electrical potential is spatially invariant within the polyelectrolyte medium (i.e. zero electric field). The second model is based on a microstructural, molecular-level solution of the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) equation within a unit cell containing a charged glycosaminoglycan (GAG) molecule and its surrounding atmosphere of mobile ions. This latter approach accounts for the space-varying electrical potential and electrical field between the GAG constituents of the PG. In computations involving no adjustable parameters, the PB-cell model agrees with the measured pressure of PG solutions to within experimental error (10%), whereas the ideal Donnan model overestimates the pressure by up to 3-fold. In computations involving one adjustable parameter for each model, the PB-cell model predicts the ionic strength dependence of the equilibrium modulus of articular cartilage. Near physiological ionic strength, the Donnan model overpredicts the modulus data by 2-fold, but the two models coincide for low ionic strengths (C0 < 0.025M) where the spatially invariant Donnan potential is a closer approximation to the PB potential distribution. The PB-cell model result indicates that electrostatic forces between adjacent GAGs predominate in determining the swelling pressure of PG in the concentration range found in articular cartilage (20–80 mg/ml). The PB-cell model is also consistent with data (Eisenberg and Grodzinsky, 1985, Lai WM, Hou JS, and Mow VC; J Biomech Eng 113: 245, 1991) showing that these electrostatic forces account for ˜ 1/2 (290kPa) the equilibrium modulus of cartilage at physiological ionic strength while absolute swelling pressures may be as low as ˜ 25 – 100kPa. This important property of electrostatic repulsion between GAGs that are highly charged but spaced a few Debye lengths apart allows cartilage to resist compression (high modulus) without generating excessive intratissue swelling pressures.

Enhancing biomass production and yield by maintaining enhanced capacity for CO2 uptake in response to elevated CO2. Can. J. Plant Sci. 94: 1075–1083. Using four model plants, two members of the Gramineae, rye and wheat, and two Brassicaceae, Brassica napus and Arabidopsis thaliana, two fundamental approaches were exploited to determine how regulating source-sink development would alter photosynthesis, productivity and yield during long-term acclimation to elevated CO2. In one approach we exploited the cold acclimation response of winter wheat, rye and B. napus. In the other approach we modified the dark respiration in A. thaliana to alter availability of respiratory substrates required for anabolic processes, such as fatty acid metabolism, thus reducing sink limitations on canopy photosynthesis at elevated CO2. Taken together, the data show the importance of maintaining strong demand from active sinks when the above-ground canopy is being exposed to elevated levels of the primary substrate of photosynthesis, CO2.

Abstract:
This study examines agrammatic comprehension of object-subject-verb (OSV) and object-verb-subject (OVS) structures in Hebrew. These structures are syntactically identical to the basic order subject-verb-object (SVO) sentence except for the movement of the object to the beginning of the sentence, and thus enable empirical examination of syntactic movement in agrammatic comprehension. Seven individuals with agrammatism, 7 individuals with conduction aphasia, and 7 individuals without language impairment, all native speakers of Hebrew, performed a sentence-picture matching task. The task compared OSV and OVS sentences to SVO sentences and to subject and object relatives. Individuals with agrammatism performed more poorly than those in either of the other groups. Their comprehension of SVO sentences was significantly above chance, but comprehension of OSV and OVS sentences was at chance and was poorer than comprehension of SVO sentences. These results show that agrammatic comprehension of structures that involve movement of a noun phrase is impaired even when the structure is a simple active sentence, in line with the Trace Deletion Hypothesis (TDH; Y. Grodzinsky, 1990, 1995a, 2000). A modification is suggested to accommodate the TDH with the VP Internal Subject Hypothesis, according to which individuals with agrammatism use an "Avoid Movement" strategy in comprehension.

Abstract:
Since 1999 a study subject called ‘Elements of Science’ has existed in Polish primary schools. Elements of the science covers issues from biology, geography, physics and chemis-try. There is no separate university course of studies in Poland that would prepare teachers to teach this subject. Natural science is taught by biology, chemistry, geography, and physics teachers, who obtain additional accreditation in order to teach this subject (Grodzinska-Jurczak, 2000). Students of the Jagiellonian University’s chemistry department can also ob-tain these credentials. In order to do so, they must participate in the Methodology of Teach-ing of Science course. One of the elements of this course is environmental education. The first aim of this study was to determine to what extent the students at various levels of the educational system are familiar with ecological problems. The second aim was to develop a format for lessons that can be used by teachers to introduce ecological issues in the class-room or through extra-curricular activities. Key words: environmental protection, science, primary school, reduce-reuse-recycle.

Abstract:
Abstract Transgender identity can be defined as the self-awareness of a discrepancy between the assigned sex at birth and the personal gender identity of an individual. This study assumed the constructionist perspective, focused on the influence of culture on sex-typing and the representations of gender in child development. This research considers how parents of transgender children emotionally handled the transition. Being faced with a child’s transgender identity may cause an emotional experience similar to mourning, in particular, ambiguous loss (Coolhart, Ritenour & Grodzinski 2018, McGuire et al. 2016, Norwood 2013). In this qualitative research, 97 associations dealing with Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) issues were contacted to recruit participants from three different countries: Italy, Spain and U.S.A. The sample includes 18 parents of trangender people who completed an ad hoc questionnaire. A brief standard story was constructed about an experience of sexual transition, followed by some questions on the experience of parental mourning during the transgender transition of their children. The corpora were analysed in the three original languages, and the analysis was performed with Atlas.ti. From the qualitative analysis of the texts that describe parents’ experience, three fundamental elements emerged. The first is inherent to the mourning orientation to loss and the fear of death; the second to the disenfranchisement of mourning and transgender identity between family and society; and the third illustrates the final restorative outcome of mourning.

Full text
Abstract:
The effects of tissue compression on the hyaluronate-binding properties of newly synthesized proteoglycans in calf cartilage explants were examined. Pulse-chase experiments showed that conversion of low-affinity monomers to the high-affinity form (that is, to a form capable of forming aggregates with 1.6% hyaluronate on Sephacryl S-1000) occurred with a t1/2 of about 5.7 h in free-swelling discs at pH 7.45. Static compression during chase (in pH 7.45 medium) slowed the conversion, as did incubation in acidic medium (without compression). Both effects were dose-dependent. For example, the t1/2 for conversion was increased to about 11 h by either (1) compression from a thickness of 1.25 mm to 0.5 mm or (2) medium acidification from pH 7.45 to 6.99. Oscillatory compression of 2% amplitude at 0.001, 0.01, or 0.1 cycles/s during chase did not, however, affect the conversion. Changes in the hyaluronate-binding affinity of [35S]proteoglycans in these experiments were accompanied by no marked change in the high percentage (approximately 80%) of monomers which could form aggregates with excess hyaluronate and link protein. Since static tissue compression would result in an increased matrix proteoglycan concentration and thereby a lower intra-tissue pH [Gray, Pizzanelli, Grodzinsky & Lee (1988) J. Orthop. Res. 6, 777-792], it seems likely that matrix pH may influence proteoglycan aggregate assembly by an effect on the hyaluronate-binding affinity of proteoglycan monomer. Such a pH mechanism might have a physiological role, promoting proteoglycan deposition in regions of low proteoglycan concentration.

Abstract:
In the absence of a pronounced anthropogenic impact, allelopathic tension in forest ecosystems of the main formations of the Sochi Black Sea region and its influence on the saturation of phytocenoses with an adventive plant group are analyzed. The studies were carried out in 38 forest ecosystems of 7 formations at 13 stationary sites in the foothill zone. The absence of anthropogenic load was determined by the average bulk soil mass and the class of atmospheric air pollution. The аllelopathy environment of individual trees was assessed according to the activity of the forest floor of 21 tree species recorded in the analyzed forest communities. The tension of biotopes in ecosystems was assessed with the joint growth of 1 to 5 tree species in the main canopy. The activity of water-soluble colins was determined by biotesting of water extracts from forest litter according to A.M. Grodzinsky. The activity of the solutions was assessed by the index of allelopathic activity. It is shown that the magnitude of the contribution of the influence of phytocenosis to the allelopathic background of the biotope depends on the species-specific features of the stand and the manifestation of a synergistic or antagonistic effect of аllelopathy related to the level of species completeness of communities. An increase in species completeness to 0,4-0,6 is accompanied by an increase in the synergistic effect, a decrease in the intensity of the аllelopathic background and saturation with adventive species, with their proportion increasing by 11,9-21,5%. An increase in the species completeness by more than 0, 6 is statistically reliably accompanied by a decrease in the synergistic effect and a transition to antagonism, with an increase in allelopathic tension in the community, increasing the proportion of native species, reducing the number of free niches for adventive species and the level of vulnerability of communities to their introduction and distribution.

Abstract:
We examined the abilities of aphasic patients to make grammaticality judgments on English sentences instantiating a variety of syntactic structures. Previous studies employing this metalinguistic task have suggested that aphasic patients typically perform better on grammaticality judgment tasks than they do on sentence comprehension tasks, a finding that has informed the current view that grammatical knowledge is relatively preserved in agrammatic aphasia. However, not all syntactic structures are judged equally accurately, and several researchers have attempted to provide explanatory principles to predict which structures will pose problems to agrammatic patients. One such proposal is Grodzinsky and Finkel's (1998) claim that agrammatic aphasics are selectively impaired in their ability to process structures involving traces of maximal projections. In this study, we tested this claim by presenting patients with sentences with or without such traces, but also varying the level of difficulty of both kinds of structures, assessed with reference to the performance of age-matched and young controls. We found no evidence that agrammatic aphasics, or any other subgroup, are selectively impaired on structures involving traces: Some judgments involving traces were made quite accurately, whereas other judgments not involving traces were made very poorly. Subgroup analyses revealed that patient groups and agematched controls had remarkably similar profiles of performance across sentence types, regardless of whether the patients were grouped based on Western Aphasia Battery classification, an independent screening test for agrammatic comprehension, or lesion site. This implies that the pattern of performance across sentence types does not result from any particular component of the grammar, or any particular brain region, being selectively compromised. Lesion analysis revealed that posterior temporal areas were more reliably implicated in poor grammaticality judgment performance than anterior areas, but poor performance was also observed with some anterior lesions, suggesting that areas important for syntactic processing are distributed throughout the left peri-sylvian region.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper presents the results of an elicitation task run with Italian-speaking people with agrammatic aphasia (PWAgr). Linguistic theories of aphasia have analysed the production of PWAgr as stemming either from a deterioration of grammatical knowledge or a limitation of extra-linguistic capacities which affect language. Among the former, the Tree Pruning Hypothesis (Friedmann and Grodzinsky, 1997) relates the height of the projections involved in the production of a structure with the chances of it being produced: the stronger the impairment in the speaker, the less likely they are to produce a structure involving higher nodes. Alternatively, syntactic knowledge may be preserved but its use is compromised by Working Memory (WM) limitations (e.g., Miyake et al., 1994; Jakubowicz, 2005). The two approaches make different predictions with respect to question production in Italian: according to the TPH, the production rates of yes/no-questions and who-questions should be comparable in moderate and mild aphasia. Why-questions involve a higher node and should thus not be available. Under a WM-limitation approach, the production rates of why-questions and yes/no-questions should be comparable and higher than those of who-questions. To determine which, if any, of the two approaches makes the correct predictions, three adult Italian speakers diagnosed with Broca’s aphasia and one with anomia performed an elicitation task targeting these three types of structures. Overall, yes/no-questions were the most frequent structures to be produced. The lack of who-questions, as opposed to the production of yes/no-questions, can be accounted for only if derivational complexity is taken into account, but the scarcity of why-questions suggests that the height of the nodes involved may play a role as well.

Abstract:
The main criteria for the functioning of agronomic phytocoenosis are indicators of their economic and energy efficiency. In particular, the issues of manufacturability and rational use of sown areas during the growing season characterize the level of agronomic culture in a particular geographical area. Under these conditions, it is important to study the possibility of joint cultivation of agricultural plants, which will reduce energy consumption, improve the phytosanitary condition of crops and increase the profitability of agricultural production. When growing tomatoes in compatible crops, it is necessary to take into account not only aspects of technology, but also the interaction of plants with each other at the level of physiological and biochemical processes. That is why allelopathic relationship between plants, due to the physiologically active substances they secrete at the initial stage of ontogenesis, is not without the interest. It is the scientific basis for the development of sound crop rotation and mixed (compacted) crops, and also helps to increase the productivity of agro- and natural coenoses in order to prevent soil fatigue in monoculture, control weeds, pests, phytopathogenic organisms, etc. Allelopathic substances (collins) of some plant species cause different reactions to other species: some of them have active growth, others have suppressed growth processes, and still others remain neutral to such effects. The stimulating effect is manifested in the awakening of seeds, strengthening of growth processes and the formation of seedling organs. In future this fact will lead to the activation of plant development and an increase in their productivity. At the same time, mutual oppression of plants cannot be ruled out, which can be detected during laboratory studies using biological tests. Field studies of compatible (compacted) crops of tomato with other plants (sugar corn, shallots) were performed using allelopathic testing methods according to Grodzinsky. The expediency and economic efficiency of growing tomatoes in compatible crops with shallots on a green feather have been experimentally proved using statistical methods.

Abstract:
Aim. To study the effect of secretions of bioactive water-soluble compounds from leaves, stems, flowers, and the root system of Hyssopus officinalis L. on the root growth of the test sample (Lepidium sativum L.).Materials and methods. To determine the effect of biologically active water-soluble compounds released by hyssop plants, a series of biotests was conducted; the allelopathic activity of leaves, stems, and flowers of H. officinalis L. and its root system were determined. The preparation of extracts of physiologically active substances was carried out according to the method of A. M. Grodzinsky. The allelopathic effect of H. officinalis L. was assessed by the effect of the water extracts of various concentrations (100 %, 50 % and 10 %) on the root length of seedlings of L. sativum L. test objects. The inhibition index was determined by Williamson method. Results and discussion. According to the results of the research, it was found that the allelopathic activity of water-soluble compounds of common hyssop affected the germination and length of seed roots of L. sativum L. as it changed with the age of the plant : in the first year of vegetation, the stimulating effect of aqueous solutions of hyssop on seed germination was observed, in the second year, the stimulating effect decreased, and in the third year of vegetation, the inhibitory effect on seed germination of the test object was observed. Thus, the index of the allelopathic activity also changed.Conclusions. It was found that the highest allelopathic activity of biologically active water-soluble compounds of root secretions, leaves, stems and flowers of H. officinalis L. was during the flowering phase in concentrations of 100 %, 50 % and 10 %, affecting the length of the roots of seedlings of L. sativum L. test objects. At the same time, the maximum stimulating effect on the length of the roots of the test object was in the variant using an aqueous extract of plant flowers of the second year of vegetation in a 10 % concentration. The use of aqueous solutions of plants of the third year of vegetation had an inhibitory effect on the root length of L. sativum L seedlings.

Abstract:
The biocentric-network configuration of landscapes (BNCL) is understood as a variety of biocenters that located at the matrix of landscapes and along which the biotic migrations take places. The theoretic-methodological contemporary apparatus of BNCL exploration formed by scientific results which we could find out in works of European and Ukrainian scientists, in particular: A. Buchek, Ja. Lazina, I. Ljov, P Kavaljauskas, R. Forman, M. Godron, M. Grodzinskyi, P. Shyschenko, V. Paschenko, S. Kukurudza, etc. Nevertheless, lack of works which could clarify questions of landscape representativeness and metrization BNCL under conditions of considerable fragmented and anthropogenic territories leads us to accomplishment becoming exploration. Thus, the aim of the article is to determine landscape representiveness (at the levels of type, and sort of landscape complexes) of BNCL by using results of our mapping modelling of landscape-typological structure of the Left-Bank the Dnipro river of Ukraine territory, the structure of BNCL and the nature reserved fund, which could be a good background for choosing criteria of landscape planning typological units distinguishing and for the future possibility of usage it for the purpose of landscape planning tools implementation. The region of the exploration – the Left-Bank the Dnipro river of Ukraine territory – is understood as a totality of four administration region of Ukraine, such as Poltavsjka, Sumsjka, Harkivsjka, and Chernighivsjka. The levels of landscape representiveness were determined by using GIS-parcel MapInfo Professional 10.0.1, and type, and sort of landscape complexes data, including 1 552 objects of nature reserved fund (by 1.11.2016). The methodical basis of the research is formed by the system of methods such as mapping, graphical, statistic, analysis, and synthesis, etc., especially the method of laying on to each other the mapping models of sort of landscape, the nature reserve fund, and the BNCL structure of the Left-Bank the Dnipro river of Ukraine territory done by the author. The level of landscape representiveness of landscapes sorts by the elements of BNCL is understood as plurality it on the unit of a biocentric area. According to the received results of region landscape representiveness calculation at the level of sort of landscapes, we summarized that same objects of BNCL has high or low level of its. The metrization of elements the BNCL structure helps us to distinguish “central” and “provincial” biocenters. Altogether, received results of graphical and matrix modeling the BNCL will be a good background for the future landscape planning tools implementation.

Full text
Abstract:
The main article investigate the standartisation problems of modern Ukrainian terminology. The industry terms are evolving and new units to denote special concepts are introducing. While currently working with professional terminology, the issue of terminological dictionaries is motivated by lack of funding and fragmentary interest in research of this type. Therefore, today Ukraine needs to emphasize the relevance of studying industry terminological terms. The role of the English language as the main one for borrowing the term units of a number of branches of modern science and technology is determined. It is noted that today the process of attracting foreign-language special units is sometimes unmanageable, and this fact raises some concerns among experts. After all, in the times of the formation of a multicultural space and the dominance of the English language as the main one in the scientific sphere, the preservation of linguistic identity becomes time. A certain balance must be maintained for each terminological system. The example of terminological systems of economics and radiology issues that need to be addressed as a matter of priority have been identified; a sign of modern Ukrainian terminology is the observance of classical principles of term formation. When creating special units, the suffixal method of word formation is used mainly with a combination of the basis of a specific / borrowed word and the actual Ukrainian affix. Another feature of modern domestic terminology is the incomplete normalization of individual terminological systems. This situation can be explained by several factors. Thus, there are terminological systems that serve the branches of science, which are now developing rapidly and continuously (for example, the terminology of information technology), as a result of which the number of new terms is significant. Naturally, the rationing and standardization of terms is somewhat delayed compared to the oral use of special units by specialists. However, there are terminology systems that have been operating for a long time, but include terms that need improvement or replacement (eg, radiology terminology, radiation safety, dosimetry). The reason for such incomplete standardization of certain terminological systems is primarily in the non-linguistic sphere, as the above branches of science developed most actively during the stay of Ukraine in the USSR. Hence, we have such a state of affairs that the terms of the vast majority of industries were regulated exclusively in Russian. The article also describes the leading lexicographical publications that meet the regulatory requirements for works: Dictionary of Ukrainian biological terminology, ed. Grodzinsky D.M., Symonenko L.O. and Economic Dictionary (compilers Zavadsky J.S., Osovska T.V., Yushkevich O.O.).

Abstract:
Abstract The possessive dative construction has been widely adopted as an unaccusativity diagnostic (Borer and Grodzinsky 1986). Gafter (2014) casts doubt on the relevance of unaccusativity to the acceptability of the construction. We ran a series of acceptability judgment experiments to investigate the validity of the possessive dative construction as an unaccusativity diagnostic, controlling for possible confounds such as animacy, definiteness, plausibility, lexical choice, type of possession and context salience. The experiments reveal that possessive datives are significantly more acceptable with unaccusative verbs than with unergatives, including reflexive and emission verbs. We conclude that unaccusatives, but not unergatives, are grammatical in the construction, and defend a structural account of the data.
