Abstract:
Objective: Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with antioxidative properties. It is recommended to use different doses and durations according to the characteristics of the patient and the type of disease. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to investigate the effect of using aspirin at different doses and for different durations on oxidative stress in ovarian tissue.
Material and Methods: Female Wistar albino rats were divided into five groups. Group 1: control group, no special treatment was applied to the rats in this group. Group 2: 1 mg/kg aspirin was administered orall

Abstract:
The 2-groups of coclass 1 are widely known and James (in 1975) looked at the 2-groups of coclass 2. Development of the p-group generation algorithm implemented by O'Brien at ANU enabled group presentations to be provided for the 2-groups of coclass 3 by Newman and O'Brien for groups of order up to 223. Newman and O'Brien (in 1999) conjectured the number of descendants of 2n for all n. They introduced the concept of a family, with each family related to a different pro-p-group and the concept of a sporadic p-group, a p-group external to any family. They found 1782 sporadic 2-groups with order

Abstract:
We construct an algorithm for getting a reduced expression for any element in a complex reflection group G(m, 1, r) by sorting the element, which is in the form of a sequence of complex numbers, to the identity. Thus, the algorithm provides us a set of reduced expressions, one for each element. We establish a one-one correspondence between the set of all reduced expressions for an element and a set of certain sorting sequences which turn the element to the identity. In particular, this provides us with a combinatorial method to check whether an expression is reduced. We also prove analogues of

Abstract:
The Lorentz group is a symmetry group on Minkowski space, and as such is central to studying the geometry of this and related spaces. The group therefore shows up also from physical considerations, such as trying to formulate quantum physics in anti-de Sitter space. In this thesis, the Lorentz group in 2+1 dimensions and its representations are investigated, and comparisons are made to the analogous rotation group. Firstly, all unitary irreducible representations are found and classified. Then, those representations are realised as the square-integrable, analytic functions on the unit circle an

This thesis describes the synthesis of a series of bis(quinolinolato)aluminium ethyl, (quinolinolato) gallium and (quinolinolato)zinc ethyl compounds which have been synthesised and fully characterised using spectroscopic techniques, elemental analyses and in some cases single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compounds are shown to be active initiators for the ring-opening polymerization of rac-lactide, with the activity being dependent on the metal, zinc > gallium > aluminium. All initiators show characteristics consistent with a controlled polymerization: predictable molecular weights and narr

Abstract:
IP multicast is an efficient solution for group communication over the Internet, as both the sender resources and the network bandwidth are relieved with the aid of this emerging technology. However, this superiority suffers, when the group communication must fulfill some security requirements. An essential issue relates to sharing the communication key. Particularly, this key must be updated and securely distributed, every time the group membership changes. This process, which is denoted as group rekeying, raises a scalability problem in large dynamic groups: Rekeying is based on computationa

Abstract:
The current understanding of students’ group metacognition is limited. The research on metacognition has focused mainly on the individual student. The aim of this study was to address the void by developing a conceptual model to inform the use of scaffolds to facilitate group metacognition during mathematical problem solving in computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL) environments. An initial conceptual framework based on the literature from metacognition, cooperative learning, cooperative group metacognition, and computer supported collaborative learning was used to inform the study.
