The 2-groups of coclass 1 are widely known and James (in 1975) looked at the 2-groups of coclass 2. Development of the p-group generation algorithm implemented by O'Brien at ANU enabled group presentations to be provided for the 2-groups of coclass 3 by Newman and O'Brien for groups of order up to 223. Newman and O'Brien (in 1999) conjectured the number of descendants of 2n for all n. They introduced the concept of a family, with each family related to a different pro-p-group and the concept of a sporadic p-group, a p-group external to any family. We construct an algorithm for getting a reduced expression for any element in a complex reflection group G(m, 1, r) by sorting the element, which is in the form of a sequence of complex numbers, to the identity. Thus, the algorithm provides us a set of reduced expressions, one for each element. We establish a one-one correspondence between the set of all reduced expressions for an element and a set of certain sorting sequences which turn the element to the identity. We show that the in-group bias is strong in groups consisting of high-performing members, and it is weak in low-performing groups. This thesis investigates the influence of passenger group dynamics on passengers' behaviour in an international airport. A simulation model is built to analyse passengers' behaviour during airport departure processes and during an emergency event. Results from the model showed that passengers' group dynamics have significant influences on the performance and utilisation of airport services. The agent-based model also provides a convenient way to investigate the effectiveness of space design and service allocations, which may contribute to the enhancement of passenger airport experiences.

Abstract:

This study examines whether and to what extent risk-associated firms that are affiliated with a business group affect audit pricing decisions. The results indicate that auditors spend more audit hours and charge higher audit fees for group-affiliated firms than for other firms. Furthermore, when a group-affiliated client is economically important to auditors’ total revenue, higher audit fees are mainly explained by the increased audit effort.
