Abstract - This article explores within the field of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), focusing on the complicated relationship between emotions, decision-making, and robot behaviors. Emotions are essential to effective communication and interaction, requiring the development of emotion recognition systems in robots. The article explores both individual and group emotion recognition, including microexpressions and macroexpressions. Yet, it is unknown whether the responses are a measure of simple emotional reactivity or if they are also influenced by emotion regulation. Given the importance of emotions in out-group evaluation (see Intergroup Emotion Theory; Smith and Mackie, 2008), we investigated emotional reactivity and regulation in response to out-group victimization. First, it emphasizes the distinction between collective emotions as affective experiences and underpinning mechanisms. Second, it elaborates on other types of affective experience, namely the social sharing of emotion, group-based emotions, and joint emotions. Then, it proposes a working definition of collective emotion via a minimal threshold and four structural features. Finally, it develops a taxonomy o

Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of civilizational populism on intergroup emotions, social cohesion, and civility in the United Kingdom using quantitative analysis of British Social Attitudes Survey (BSA) 2021 data. The findings reveal significant correlations between exposure to populist rhetoric and heightened negative emotions, such as fear and anger, toward ethnoreligious and political minorities (r = 0.56). While political affiliation demonstrates a weaker direct influence (r = 0.14), perceptions of migration as culturally and economically beneficial are strongly associated with higher

Abstract:
The Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) has experienced conflicts, displacement, socioeconomic shocks, and climate change effects. Marginalised people, especially those facing intersecting inequalities, are disproportionately affected. Many face unemployment, poverty, and limited health care access. With formal social assistance broadly unavailable, marginalised groups rely on ad hoc informal assistance. This briefing presents evidence on marginalised people’s circumstances in the KRI and their experience accessing social assistance, gathered through Participatory Action Research with peer research

Abstract:
The authors have studied daily decision-making processes in groups under uncertainty, with an exploratory field study in the medical domain. The work follows the tradition of naturalistic decision-making (NDM) research. It aims to understand how groups in this high reliability context conceptualize and internalize uncertainties, and how they handle them in order to achieve effective decision-making in their everyday activities. Analysis of the survey data shows that uncertainty is thought of in terms of issues and sources (as identified by previous research), but also (possibly a domain-specif

Abstract:
Artists have often used artworks to express emotions and thus prompt public dialogue about contemporary challenges. At the same time, it has been suggested that collaborative art-making can be used in environmental deliberation processes, where stakeholder groups discuss contentious challenges such as the effects of flooding. Policy actors have rarely been deeply involved in these processes. Our recent research showed that collaborative art could be used to develop relationships between groups, including policy actors, in deliberation processes, by creating artworks to bring concerns into the

Abstract:
This study investigates the ways in which Syriac native speakers from Iraq conceptualise their understandings of various abstract domains, feelings, emotions, actions, customs, traditions and practices through their experiences of the concrete fields of food and drink metaphors. The conceptual metaphor theory (1980) by Lackoff and Johnson has been adopted for the data analysis. A focus group discussion (FGD) was employed as a tool for data collection and 43 idiomatic food and drink expressions were collected from this.
