Traoré, Bakary. "Histoire sociale d'un groupe marchand : les Jula du Burkina Faso." Paris 1, 1996. http://www.theses.fr/1996PA010652.
Full textThis research includes four parts of unequal importance. The first part is entitled writing a history of the Jula. In the first place it presents the sources related to that history and point out their importance and limits. Then it deals with the status of knowledge and the epistomological problems that this knowledge arises namely difficulties of classifications. And for these reasons we found it useful to conduct this research in a new perspective, that of a social history that takes account the manner in which the Jula society represented itself in term of identity and evolution. The second includes eight chapters articulated around the following main themes : commercial geography, commercial and political spaces, history of population, social organisation and problem of origins. The third part presents the commercial activities of the Jula during the 19th century. Since economic is related to religion, islam occupies a major place in this third part, with a sounding title : dynamic of the Jula society : economy and religion. This place of islam in the Jula society is studied in a new dimension in the fourth part. Under the title, the Jula evolution until 1973 : crises and identy problems, this part shows how the Jula, according to their political, social and economic situations, reacted by developing strategies of concilation, banning, restructuration, identity reappraisal. Starting from problems of kene (political and commercial space) in the 18th and 19th centuries

Full textMost of the spoken languages in the southern part of Senegal are endangered and will disappear if an important action of linguistic documentation and description is not undertaken. Bayot is a bak language of the joola subgroup spoken by a community of more than ten thousand members. It evoluate in a linguistic ecosystem in which more dynamic languages limits its usage in family surroundings. The ATR feature and the marks of tenses, aspects and moods are important elements in understanding how the rules of this language work. Bayot is an SVO type. The data base of this analysis are collected with the help inormants from various erias: Nyassia, Dakar, Yeumbeul, Thiaroye, and Rufisque

Full textNew field work and petrological studies in the Boumnyebel area has led us to redefine rock types and discuss their bearing on the evolution of the Pan-African fold belt of central Africa. Two units are distinguished. A Palaeoproterozoic unit consists of orthogneisses and amphibolites restricted to the south and southwest of the area studied. It is overlain by a Pan-African unit (nappe) comprised in its lower part of garnet micaschists associated with amphibolites, metagabbros, hornblendites and pyroxenites, and towards its top of garnet + kyanite micaschists locally associated with marble and amphibolites; talcschists occur as discontinuous =30 m thick layers mainly above the lower micaschists. The rock types in the lower part of this nappe suggest active margin environments with detrital input from a nearby continental crust (arc or back-arc context), whereas in the upper part they rather suggest detrital input from a nearby continental crust submitted to erosion. Metamorphism in the Pan-African formations corresponds to amphibolite facies conditions, reaching anatexis to the NW of the area studied (migmatites). The metamorphic peak (syn-D2) is estimated at ~ 650-670°C / ~ 9.5 kbar at ca. 620 Ma (monazite Th-U-Pb data), and the isograds are in normal positions. These data suggest that the thermal peak postdate nappe emplacement. We emphasize that the presence in significant proportions of mafic and ultramafic rocks of tholeiitic affinity in the lower part of the series suggests the existence of an active margin to the North of the Congo craton during the Neoproterozoic

Full textLeebu, Serer and Wolof share some convergent customs and institutions. When a personality belonging to their ethnicities suffers of disorder of which etiology is referred to pangol-rab (invisibles creatures) occupying bodily and psychical space, NDEP is asked and practiced. What sort of problematic does it reveal? What efficiency does appear on it? Acknowledged as a collective therapy, doesn't it show in an individual and psychical dimension? In order to find answers to these questions, we have betaken ourself to Senegal to verify this hypothesis : the structuring process is accompanied with an anguish all the more as deep that culture prepares human to a form of being. Pulled about desire and reality, he unfolds codifiable symptoms amid his culture which settles a battery of therapies. Among those, Senegalese culture proposes one which refers to an analytical dimension and in the course of which the drawing up in language of what has been printed inside the subject brings him towards an anguish resolution and an inscription into the symbolic order which pre-exists towards him. This treaty argues a triple approach : - anthropological : conception of the human being, representation of disorder,- psychological : codification of madness, analysis of the situations, -psychoanalytical : real frame, imaginary and symbolic, so concepts such as signifying, phantasm, dream, body, myth, language, transfer. . . In a word, the intimate story of the subject, are asked through the underlying dynamic of dance, handling, watch songs but in the relation ndepe-ndepkat, too. This frame staying as a holder, the subject allows himself to untie his story and express his desire close to the ndepkat empowered to hear him. The accompaniment aims at the dislodgement of the rab towards the ancestral altar and the registration of the subject in his fathers' symbolic order

Full textFrom 2000 to 2004, the socioeducational institutions or French judicial send about fifteen of kongo families, whose one of the members is accused by a close to be sorcerer and the author of family disorders, to the Centre Georges Devereux at the university Paris8 for consultations. This Centre, who uses the procedures of ethnopsychiatry, is mandated to elucidate the accusation problem in witchcraft and to bring a psychological help to these families. In this thesis, I attempt to analyze certain of these clinical cases as well as other met on the African ground in the course of the traditional trial in punitive witchcraft so as to identify the therapeutic techniques of the ethnopsychiatry and of the approach of kongo traditional lawsuit in the resolution of the conflicts qualified of sorceress origin by the patients and their family. My hypothesis is that in witchcraft the lawsuit traditional is akin to device of care, that it has similarities and differences in relation to ethnopsychiatric device
