Zbadano przeżywalność komórek nerek zielonej małpy (GMK) poddanych rosnącym dawkom promieniowania γ. Do hodowli komórek dodano kompleks 99mTcDMSA (technetu 99mTc z kwasem merkaptobursztynowym, DMSA). Rozmiary zmian post-radiacyjnych oszacowano na podstawie liczenia komórek. Dodanie ekstraktów z kory zwiększyło przeżywalność komórek, w porównaniu do grupy bez dodatku radioizotopu, a zwłaszcza potraktowanej technetem bez środków ochronnych.
