Full textThe aim of this research is a attempt to analyse the programmes of the war of the peassants of 1525 or those that revolve around this important avent in the history of germany, and to make clear the importance of the utopic dimension in these writings. The first part, after a brief reminder of the outline of utopia, constitutes a review of the elements that will contribute to the begetting of a way of utopic thinking in germany at the beginning of the sixteenth century, so: the golden age, natural right and millenarism; the principles of civil and religious society falling into the sphere of examination with nicolas de cuse, the reformatio sigismundi or the revolutionary from the upper-rhine. In the second part,we note that if the ideal of the generations of the middle ages rested on celestial jerusalem and the promised land, the way of thinking of the time that followed shows a far more concrete objective: the time of waiting in the earthly world. After having mentioned the broad lines of thomas more and the situation of germany and of the empire at the dawn of the war of the peasants,we examine the plans and programmes that go fur-ther in their views on social change(conceptions that rest essentially on divine right, that all reflect the same refusal of a system and of a society) and how far the intentions of eberlin von gunzburg and of thomas muntzer, the project of friedrich weigandt and of michael gaismair or the text "von der newen wandlung eynes christlichen lebens" have points in common with the work of thomas more. We point out that beyond the in-depth criticism, the reform movement, utopia and humanism all aspired to the same ideal: to build a world which would be far more just, but the expression of the utopic thought of germany remains more often than not indissociable from the ideas of the revolution
