Abstract:
Guidance and counseling programs have been implemented in Kenyan secondary schools to help students improve their personal, social, and academic skills. The success of these programs, however, has been questioned due to a paucity of studies attempting to clarify this idea, a problem that this study discussed. The aim of this study was to look at the current state and challenges of guidance and counseling. The study's aim was to ascertain the types of services available for implementing guidance and counseling programs, as well as the most common cases of indiscipline among secondary school students. Noise making, theft, property damage, and truancy were found to be the most common forms of indiscipline in schools, according to the report. According to the findings, the schools under investigation have a long way to go in terms of maintaining disciplinary management by supervision and counseling. According to the report, schools can first invite parents, churches, other supporters, and the surrounding community to endorse guidance and counseling programs for students' social adjustment. Secondly, the Ministry of Education should reinforce guidance and counselling units in the implementation of the program in schools by requiring all teacher counsellors who do not have basic guidance and counselling training to attend mandatory in-service training. Finally, the Ministry of Education should make peer counseling training more accessible so that advice and support can be provided.

Abstract:
Empathy is an essential quality for counselors when delivering counseling services, as it allows them to connect with their clients on a deeper level. However, it's recognized that empathy levels can fluctuate, with one potential factor being the onset of compassion fatigue. Compassion fatigue refers to the exhaustion experienced by individuals providing care and attention to those they're assisting, a phenomenon commonly observed among social workers like counselors. This research seeks to examine the impact of compassion fatigue on empathy within the context of counseling services. This research employed a correlational methodology, utilizing the Pearson Correlation formula. The study population comprised guidance and counseling teachers from secondary schools in Pekanbaru city. This research used a random sampling technique and convenience sampling technique for a total of 36 people form 90 populations. The instrument used was a Likert scale with 5 closed model answer choices. The fatigue level among guidance and counseling teachers in secondary schools of Pekanbaru City falls within the medium category at 66.66%, with the remaining 33.33% categorized as low. The empathy level among guidance and counseling teachers is predominantly in the very high category, accounting for 47.22%, while the remaining 52.77% falls within the high category. The correlation analysis indicates a significant inverse relationship between compassion fatigue and the empathy levels of guidance and counseling teachers in Pekanbaru City secondary schools. This is substantiated by a correlation coefficient of -.604. At a significance level of 0.01, the statistical analysis confirms the significance of this relationship, as evidenced by the p-value of 0.00, which is below the threshold of 0.05.This has shown that guidance and counselling teachers can still carry out their role well in counselling services, even though they have experienced compassion fatigue on average in the moderate category.

This was reflected in parental involvement, trust enhancement, self-awareness and appreciation, self-discipline and parent-child bonding. The study concluded that the tripartite framework of guidance and counseling had a positive and compelling influence on student outcomes in the selected public secondary Schools in Kenya. Implementation of the framework resulted in immediate transformative behavior change that potentially set the students up not just for long-run future academic success but potentially holistic life outcomes. Incorporation of the tripartite framework of guidance and counseling into the school curriculum was endorsed by the study participants, and this should be adapted in public secondary schools in Kenya. In order to ascertain the suitability of the model across all public schools, replication of the study in other public secondary schools especially within a rural setting is recommended.

Abstract:
Infrastructure facilities are essentially a support in the implementation of an educational process or the implementation of counseling guidance. Without the infrastructure, the implementation of counseling guidance will be constrained and the goals to be achieved are not as expected. If the infrastructure does not exist in an educational institution, it will cause counseling guidance personnel in schools to have difficulty collaborating in the implementation of counseling guidance in schools. From that counseling guidance requires facilities and infrastructure to be used in the implementation of counseling guidance in schools.
