Abstract:
The primary role of the counsellor during the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to be able to formulate individual counselling services that are in accordance with the needs of students today. One of the guidance and counselling services is an individual counselling service which refers to Permendikbud Number 111 of 2014 to obtain limited information about individual counselling. It is hoped that the implementation of guidance and counselling will be able to implement individual counselling services properly. Guidance and counselling must be able to: 1) Prioritize the welfare of the counselee, 2) Able to develop the counselee's diversity of competency skills, 3) Develop information and emotional control skills, 4) Have high resilience in dealing with one's own problems and counselee problems. Individual counselling services are teacher guidance and counselling services in schools to help students solve problems about truancy, interaction with friends, personal problems and career studies. The function of individual counselling services in guidance and counselling can help students in overcoming problems, getting change, direction and support and better attention. Therefore, the role of guidance and counselling in individual counselling services is very important in guidance and counselling in schools. So the counsellor must have the ability to guide, understand the characteristics of students well so that the counsellor can provide optimal guidance services to students.

Abstract:
Guidance and counselling constitute the best approach to help children and their families deal with life’s frustrating issues. In the school context, guidance and counselling services assist the school to manage discipline and deal with the influence of social evils on learners and the learning environment. However, for guidance and counselling services to be effective in schools, several factors must be put in place. Among these factors, the key is school management support for guidance and counselling services. In recognition of this fact, the study examined the influence of the schools’ management attitudes towards guidance and counselling on the implementation of guidance and counselling programmes in secondary schools in Baringo Central Sub-County. The study used the descriptive survey research method. It relied on a sample of 36 secondary schools with 36 principals and 72 teacher-counsellors. The research employed a questionnaire to collect the data. The collected data was then analysed using SPSS, version 22. The results of the study revealed that although most schools’ managers had embraced and recognised the role of guidance and counselling in their schools, little time and resources were availed to sustain these important services. This situation had negatively affected the implementation of guidance and counselling in schools. Therefore, it was recommended that guidance should be conceptualised in a broader and more comprehensive and holistic view, incorporating vocational and other aspects of development

The major instrument used for data collection was questionnaire. Questionnaire was used because it is the most appropriate instrument that could be used to collect data on the variables for the study. Content-related evidence of validity was established for the instrument. The researchers personally administered the questionnaire. The entry of quantitative data and analysis was done using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings: The results from the study showed that guidance and counselling services were vibrant and visible in Komenda College of Education. The study revealed that Seventy-five per cent (75%) of the respondents claimed that attitudes of Guidance and Counselling Coordinators and Tutors were very appropriate for counselling services. All types of guidance and counselling services were rendered in the college. The study further revealed that some students had negative attitudes towards accessing guidance and counselling services. Unique Contribution to Practice and Policy: The researchers therefore recommend that, school authorities should be provided with needed logistics for effective guidance and counselling services in schools and colleges. Also, there should be in-service trainings and refresher courses and seminars for guidance and counselling coordinators to up-date their skills in guidance and counselling. Finally, the Ghana Education Service should organise periodic educational programmes for both teachers and students on the role of guidance and counselling in schools and colleges.

Abstract:
Since its genesis in vocational guidance, career guidance and counselling has followed the approach developed in the early 1900s in the work of Parsons (1909). Indeed, the profession has been well served by this approach which has come to be known as the trait and factor approach. However, since the time of Parsons the world of work has changed dramatically. We are living in a time of rapid change. Thus society's needs in terms of career guidance and counselling are significantly different. For career guidance and counselling to remain a relevant force in the next century, career guidance practitioners are being challenged to move away from strict adherence to the traditional model toward more client-centred approaches. One of the biggest challenges to existing practices comes from the influence of constructivism. The constructivist world view has been well documented in the field of counselling. In particular, it has influenced the development of solution-focused and narrative approaches to counselling, which are now well-established counselling modalities. However, it is only comparatively recently that the influence of constructivism has begun to be felt in career guidance and counselling. This paper will briefly examine the history and traditions of career guidance and counselling and discuss the changing nature of the world of work and the needs of clients. Following this, it will examine the nature of constructivism, the challenges and opportunities it presents, and its implications for career guidance and counselling practitioners.

Abstract:
The present-day educational scenario placed the teachers with multiple roles, and one such area is guidance and counselling where they are expected to be competent through their pre-service teacher training programme as students look up to them for guidance and support in every situation of their student life. Guidance and counselling services in educational system is to develop, assess and improve educational programmes for all the stakeholders to effectively handle the children. The learners consist of different age groups who are vulnerable and need support. The National Curriculum Framework (NCERT, 2005) has endorsed the inclusion of guidance and counselling in the curriculum. In the light of this, it is inevitable that pre-service teachers are equipped with basic guidance and counselling skills since it is evident that India is still deprived of the true spirit of guidance and counselling wherein adequate attention has not been paid yet. The initiation of effectively integrating guidance and counselling along with the teacher educational programme is encouraged by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT, 2015). In this study, the author has discussed the pressing need of furnishing pre-service teachers with the skills of guidance and counselling so that they are well equipped as they venture into their teaching profession.

Abstract:
Throughout member countries of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a number of important policy directions are placing increasing demands upon career information and guidance services. A growing emphasis upon lifelong learning for all and active employment and welfare policies are among the more important. Yet alongside these pressures for wider community access to career assistance services, recent OECD work reveals weaknesses in the organisation and delivery of career information, guidance and counselling. A key challenge facing governments is to widen access to these services in an affordable way and yet to maintain their quality. This paper describes a new OECD activity on policies for career information, guidance and counselling services that will examine this challenge.

Methodology: The researchers used exploratory research design for the study. The researchers considered all the 105 Junior High Schools (J.H.S.) in the Municipality as the subject for the study. The researchers sampled 50 schools for data collection. They (researchers) administered questionnaire to the headmasters and teachers in-charge of guidance and counselling in the selected 50 Junior High Schools (JHSs) arriving at a total of 100 respondents. The instruments used for data collection were questionnaire. Data gathered were analysed in tables and converting them into percentages. They also offer prompt response to such issues. It further came out that there were not even a single school in the Municipality, which had a place as an office earmarked for guidance and counselling services. There were also some interference from other teachers, parents and headmasters in the affairs of counselling which hampered the effectiveness of the guidance and counselling services. Some teachers too felt reluctant to report identified problems to the notice of the counselling coordinators. Unique Contribution to Practice and Policy: The researchers suggested that misconceptions that some teachers, parents and other stakeholders have about guidance and counselling services should be expunged from their minds. Finally, recommendations from the researchers were that, to improve the guidance and counselling services for junior high school students in KEEA Municipality there should be regular workshops and orientation for teachers who ate mandated to offer guidance and counselling services to students. Teachers should be made to understand that counselling is geared towards cooperation, teamwork and meant for all students and develop well in confidential setting. Abstract:
This paper describes the changing role, practice and institutional setting of career guidance and counselling in Hungary from the 1950s to the present time. The article defines the relation between the institutional settings (polity), changes in the content of guidance policies implemented in those decades (policy), and decision-making processes (politics). It is argued that the lack of institutional resilience and the vagueness of the career guidance theoretical models created a relatively unstable guidance system in Hungary. Our description concerns both the theoretical development of guidance and counselling and legislative and institutional changes. It addresses the changing role of career guidance and counselling, including access to guidance service, and the changing perception of the two manifested by citizens, companies and politicians.

This research was conducted to investigate the process of spirituality values in the counselling process carried by counsellors to students of Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Ummah Kota Gede Yogyakarta. The urgency of this study is according to the facts in which show that Guidance and Counselling is considered as something that is scary, shunned and becomes an enemy to students. This condition occurs because the majority of Counselling Guidance in schools are considered as school police, lawyers, guardians of the rules and courts for sanctioned students. This qualitative research was conducted by interviewing and observing counselling teachers at the Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Ummah regarding spirituality values in its implementation. Based on the results of the analysis, Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Ummah has unconsciously practiced spirituality values in the Guidance and Counselling process by conducting classical counselling services such as providing understanding and socialization about Guidance and Counselling, learning motivation, inspirational stories (role models). Besides that, the Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Ummah also teaches values and spirituality by commanding students to read the Asmaul Husna, and dhikr at every morning to strengthen their piety and characteristic.

It was thus recommended that the training of teacher counsellors in school guidance and counselling be improved, reduced workload for teacher counsellors, better resources and facilities for guidance and counselling, and for teacher counsellors to be supported in order for guidance and counselling to be successfully implemented in schools.
