Abstract:
The presence of the capital market in Indonesia is marked by the number of investors who have started investing in the food and beverage industry. The more rapid development of the food and beverage sector is followed by the increasing demand for public needs, thus making investors need funds from external sources. Funds from external sources can be obtained through the capital market. Therefore, the owner is directed to the capital market which can attract investors. Investors tend to choose stocks that can provide maximum returns. This study aims to determine the effect of return on equity (ROE), price earning ratio (PER), and debt to equity ratio (DER) on stock returns in food and beverage companies listed on the IDX (case study 2012-2014). The analysis technique used in this research is multiple linear regression to obtain a comprehensive picture of the relationship between one variable and another. The explanatory technique used is the multiple linear regression method (F test and T-test) coefficient of determination analysis and correlation coefficient analysis. So it can be concluded that the variable (X) is ROE, PER, and DER and variable (Y) RETURN SHARES. The results of the study show that together the financial performance as measured by ROE, PER, and DER has a significant effect on stock returns in food and beverage companies in the 2012-2014 period. The results of this study are expected that the variables ROE, PER, and DER can be used as a good guideline for the management of the company in improving financial performance, especially capital management, debt, and the ability to generate profits, or by investors in determining investment strategies.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction Although numerous efforts have aimed to reduce suicides in the U.S. Army, completion rates have remained elevated. Army leaders play an important role in supporting soldiers at risk of suicide, but existing suicide-prevention tools tailored to leaders are limited and not empirically validated. The purpose of this article is to describe the process used to develop the Behavioral Health Readiness and Suicide Risk Reduction Review (R4) tools for Army leaders that are currently undergoing empirical validation with two U.S. Army divisions. Materials and Methods Consistent with a Secretary of the Army directive, approximately 76 interviews and focus groups were conducted with Army leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain feedback regarding existing practices for suicide risk management, leader tools, and institutional considerations. In addition, reviews of the empirical literature regarding predictors of suicide and best practices for the development of practice guidelines were conducted. Qualitative feedback, empirical predictors of suicide, and design considerations were integrated to develop the R4 tools. A second series of 11 interviews and focus groups with Army leaders and SMEs was also conducted to validate the design and obtain feedback regarding the R4 tools. Results Leaders described preferences for tool processes (eg, incorporating engaged leadership, including multiple risk identification methods), formatting (eg, one page), organization (eg, low-intermediate-high risk scoring system), content (eg, excluding other considerations related to vehicle safety, including readiness implications), and implementation (eg, accounting for leadership judgment, tailoring process to specific leadership echelons, consideration of institutional barriers). Evidence-based predictors of suicide risk and practice guideline considerations (eg, design) were integrated with leadership feedback to develop the R4 tools that were tailored to specific leadership echelons. Leaders provided positive feedback regarding the R4 tools and described the importance of accounting for potential institutional barriers to implementation. This feedback was addressed by including recommendations regarding the implementation of standardized support meetings between different echelons of leadership. Conclusions The R4 development process entailed the simultaneous integration of leadership feedback with evidence-based predictors of suicide risk and design considerations. Thus, the development of these tools builds upon previous Army leadership tools by specifically tailoring elements of those tools to accommodate leader preferences, accounting for potential implementation barriers (eg, institutional factors), and empirically evaluating the implementation of those tools. Future studies should consider utilizing a similar process to develop empirically based resources that are more likely to be incorporated into the routine practice of leaders supporting soldiers at risk of suicide, very often located at the company level and below.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT INTRODUCTIONPrescribing physical activity is an inexpensive method to promote patients’ long-term health, but determinants of adherence with physical activity prescriptions are seldom considered. AIMTo identify facilitators and barriers experienced by adults with type 2 diabetes when prescribed regular walking. METHODSParticipants were prescribed a regular walking routine that met current physical activity guidelines for type 2 diabetes management for a period of 3 months. Pre- and post-intervention questions considered participants’ self-rated health and physical activity amount. Thematic analysis of recorded interviews held after the 3-month prescription identified barriers and facilitators to adherence for participants. RESULTSTwenty-eight adults (aged 60±9 years, body mass index 32.3±4.0kg/m2, HbA1c 59±16mmol/mol) participated in the 3-month intervention, providing 7 years of lived experience. Self-rated health (14%; 95% confidence interval (CI) 7–22%) and time spent walking (+11 min/day; 95% CI 4–18 min/day) increased following the prescription. Major themes motivating participants were: establishing a walking routine; the support of their family members; observing health benefits; and being monitored by a health professional. The greatest barriers were associated with walking in the evening and included feelings of insecurity in the dark or a preference for sedentary behaviour. DISCUSSIONA prescription to walk increased time spent in physical activity and self-rated health in adults with type 2 diabetes. Health-care professionals can support walking prescriptions by promoting facilitators and reducing barriers to prescription adherence. Practical solutions to barriers include identifying alternative physical activity opportunities within the house or advice to develop support networks to provide company while walking.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to offer instructors a real managerial dilemma faced by a prestigious Brazilian jewelry company as it decides how it should expand into two Asian countries: China and South Korea. Design/methodology/approach – The authors followed guidelines for developing teaching cases as those suggested by Gill's (2011) seminal contribution, Informing with the Case Method. Findings – Since this is a teaching case, there are no “findings” in the usual sense of the word related to traditional empirical studies. Research limitations/implications – Data for the case came mainly from the stated visions and opinions of the firm's spokesperson and may reflect his own particular (though influential) views. The authors also used public secondary data from consulting companies, market research firms and business magazines. Although these accounts may be partial, this is not a severe limitation since a teaching case is expected to provide some information, but not a full set of information, in order to better reflect real managerial situations. Practical implications – This case study may help students understand and “live trough” a real managerial dilemma, related to international expansion to a rather distinct environment from those the firm has been accustomed to. Originality/value – This teaching case brings relevant material for in-class discussion of a successful emerging market firm that has successfully paved its way into developed Western markets and now seeks to expand into Eastern lands. Decisions related to strategic positioning and international marketing make the core of the managerial dilemmas that the firm has to face.

Abstract:
This master's thesis deals with the valuation of BEZNOSKA, s.r.o. Situated in Kladno, the Czech Republic, this company engages in the development and production of instruments and implants for bone surgery. The company was established on the basis of the "surgery" division of then POLDI Kladno at the beginning of the nineties, during the "big privatisation" period. The aim of this thesis is to estimate the market value and investment value of the company as of 31 December 2009 as defined in the International Valuation Standards. The valuation is carried out using two basic methods. The focus of the work is based on the DCF method the result of which is verified by a method based on the market analysis, in particular the similar public company method. The book value method is only complementary. The thesis is divided into six chapters. Sequenced logically, it contains the basic information on the company valued, financial analysis, strategic analysis, analysis and forecast of the value drivers, financial plan and the valuation itself based on the method mentioned above. These topical units are further divided into several subchapters as necessary. Various analyses and statistical methods needed to successfully meet the set objective are applied throughout the text.

Abstract:
Effective communication by a company with a wide range of persons including its members, employees, bond-holders, debenture-holders and other stakeholders is of fundamental importance to the efficient management of a company. Equally, the ability of shareholders and others to be able to send communications to a company in an orderly and timely manner is a matter of importance. Until recent times the companies legislation has always required documents, notices and other corporate literature such as reports and accounts to be sent by post or delivered to members in what in modern terminology is called ‘hard copy form’. A company’s articles of association, including the 1985 Table A, usually contain detailed provisions dealing with the service of such notices and documentation. However, electronic communication has become the preferred method for many shareholders to receive documents and communications from companies. In recent years, even before the enactment of CA 2006, a large number of public quoted companies with many thousands of members have taken active steps to encourage as many shareholders as possible to elect to receive their documentation in this way rather than in paper format through the postal system substantially for reasons of cost-saving.

Abstract:
It is generally believed that, in determining the real value of a company, the best results are obtained by using the Dicounted FCF method. The overall value of the firm itself or the value of equity is determined by discounting the “appropriate” cash flows by “appropriate” discount rates. We basically need to determine three major parameters: free cash flows, cost of capital, and the terminal value. All these three parameters have sub-parameters within themselves. Because all these parameters and their sub-parameters are to be future values, many factors like the riskiness of the firm in question, its leverage ratio, whether it is a profitable firm, newly-established or public company will not only influence the calculation of these parameters/sub-parameters but will also make it more difficult for the analyst. This chapter explains what variables are needed for company valuation, how they are determined, and what problems may be faced in calculating these values. Finally, authors propose solutions to all the problems analysts will likely face.

In data analytics, the application of text analysis is always challenging, in particular, when performing the text mining of Chinese characters. This study aims to use the micro-blog data created by the users to conduct text mining and analysis of the impact of stock market performances in China. Based upon Li's instance labeling method, this chapter examines the correlation between social media information and a public-private partnership (PPP)-related company stock prices. The authors crawled the data from EastMoney platform via a web crawler and obtained a total of 79,874 language data from 10 January 2017 to 28 November 2019. The total material data obtained is 79,616, which the authors use for specific training in the financial corpus. The findings of this chapter indicate that the investor investment sentiment has a certain impact on the stock price movement of selected stocks in the PPP sector.

Abstract:
Fluoride has made an enormous contribution to declines in dental caries (Kidd 2005; Murray and Naylor 1996). Fissure sealants are a proven preventive agent. This chapter provides a brief overview of the history of fluoride and presents a brief synopsis of the mode of action, method of delivery, safety, and controversies in the use of fluoride. A public health perspective on fissure sealants will also be presented. An account of the history of fluoride can be found in Kidd (2005) and Murray et al. (2003) and is summarized in this section (see Box 12.1 for key dates). In 1901, Frederick McKay, a dentist in Colorado Springs, USA, noticed that many of his patients, who had spent all their lives in the area, had a distinctive stain on their teeth known locally as ‘Colorado stain’. McKay was puzzled and called in the assistance of a dental researcher G.V. Black. They found that other communities in the USA had the characteristic mottling. Their histological examination of affected teeth showed that the enamel was imperfectly calcified, but that decay in the mottled teeth was no higher than in normal teeth. McKay suspected that something in the water supply was producing the brown stain, and more evidence came from Bauxite, a community formed to house workers of a subsidiary of the Aluminium Company of America (ALCOA). A local dentist noticed that children in Bauxite had mottled teeth, whereas children in nearby Benton did not. McKay investigated the problem but was unable to find a cause for the staining when the water supply was tested. In 1933, Mr H.V. Churchill, Chief Chemist for ALCOA (anxious that aluminium would not be blamed for the mottling), analysed the water and found that the fluoride ion concentration in the water supply of the Bauxite community was abnormally high (13.7 ppm). He tested other communities affected by mottling which had been previously identified by McKay and found that they too had high levels of fluoride present in the water supplies.

Social media networks have become platforms that the private and also public sector health corporations use for communucating with their patients and also finding solutions for their needs. To establish a healthy health communucation in between the patients and the health organisations and facilities and also to cover the needs of patients to reach true information is very important. Because of this, the performers using the social media must be examined. In this study, the authors examine and study the targets and the communucation strategies of medicine companies by using the social media and also thier medicine specifications to make a harmony in between these organisatipons and their products. In this study, the content analysis method is used to examine the Facebook page of Pfizer company in September and October 2020 posts. As a result of this Facebook page study of the company, the authors saw that 50% of the posts are acknowlagments, 31% about treatments of illnesses, and the rest (19%) are greetings.

Abstract:
This paper presents the findings of a user study conducted at a company, a global leader in its industry, in order to engage experts by experience in the research and development of the company’s future products. People who have life-changing experiences such as being ill or having a disability, and who are trained to consider their environment in terms of those experiences, can be called experts by experience. They can be inventive in creating solutions to the challenges of an inaccessible environment. Currently, their expertise is primarily used by the public sector, mainly in welfare and health-related initiatives. The corporate sector seems to have not yet actively engaged them. This study adopted a design research approach and applied a case study method to a research and development project conducted at a company. The user study comprised experts by experience testing a physical prototype that had digital content, by thinking aloud, interacting and participating in a design game. The aim was to understand the strengths, opportunities and development needs of the prototype, as well as to gain the experts’ insights into future requirements and how to meet them with similar products. The study resulted in usability-, appearance- and feel-related product qualities, as well as ideas regarding the product’s potential applications and digital content. The findings suggest that trained experts by experience can provide a company with information that could act as design drivers that benefit strategic development. Due to the inclusion and empowerment of users, as well as fostering their equality, engaging experts by experience in research and development could also be considered to be an example of corporate social sustainability and responsibility.

Abstract:
The chapter focuses on the Finnish public service broadcasting company Yle (former Yleisradio), which was founded in 1926 and on the possible uses by digital historians of its online archive. The dataset used in the research are non-traditional in that it consists of Yle’s archival metadata. This digital material is analysed as a historical source material using the method of Named Entity Recognition (NER) as it is implemented in the digital tool the Finnish rule-based named-entity recogniser (FiNER). This chapter explores how a canon of salient Finnish events and persons is built up in the national audio-visual archive in the digital age. The authors suggest that the cultural contextualising and close reading of the themes pointed out by the results of NER-based analysis still play an important role in the analytical process as the metadata material, as well as the digital tool, has its limitations.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background: Company X is a company engaged in drilling mud, due to the high intensity of work and an unhealthy lifestyle, occupational health and safety (OHS) becomes a problem. In 2018, employees were facing cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, obesity and hyperuricemia problems and in addition, there were three employees experiencing heart attacks, one stroke, two employees experiencing kidney dysfunction, and one employee experiencing gallstones. Meanwhile, the OHS program in the company has not been implemented optimally. There was a decline in the trend of sports programs participation from January 2018 (75%) to January 2019 (25%). It is necessary to improve and develop OHS based on the RAPCRIEC method (Recognition, Analysis, Planning, Communication, Preparation, Implementation, Evaluation, and Continuity) to reduce the percentage of employees who experience cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, and obesity. Subjects and Methods: This was a quantitative design carried out at PT X conducted in June-December 2019. The study subjects were all 69 employees of PT X. The independent variable of the study was the health program. The dependent variables of the study were cholesterol levels, triglycerides, hypertension, obesity and employee hyperuricemia. Data on cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, obesity and hyperuricemia were obtained from medical check-ups. Data were analyzed using the percentage reduction in the number of employees who experience cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, obesity and hyperuricemia. Results: In the results of the medical check-up in 2018, it was found that the most health problems were cholesterol (37%), triglycerides (22%), hypertension (11.5%), obesity (7.5%), and hyperuricemia (7.2%). After the using of RAPCRIEC method, in December 2019 a medical check-up was conducted and showed the decrease health problems percentage among workers. They were experienced cholesterol (21.7%), triglycerides (11.6%), hypertension (7.2%), obesity (5.7%) and hyperuricemia (2.8%). Conclusion: The development of a health program using the RAPCRIEC method at company X has reduced the percentage of employees who experience cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, and obesity. Feng, Wenxing, Xiaoqiang Xiang, Guangming Jia, et al. "Applying the Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) to Improve Safety Management of Oil and Gas Pipeline Stations in China." In 2012 9th International Pipeline Conference. American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2012. http://dx.doi.org/10.1115/ipc2012-90130.

Full text
Abstract:
The oil and gas pipeline companies in China are facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges because of China’s increasing demand for oil and gas energy that is attributed to rapid economic and social development. Limitation of land resource and the fast urbanization lead to a determinate result that many pipelines have to go through or be adjacent to highly populated areas such as cities or towns. The increasing Chinese government regulation, and public concerns about industrial safety and environmental protection push the pipeline companies to enhance the safety, health and environmental protection management. In recent years, PetroChina Pipeline Company (PPC) pays a lot of attention and effort to improve employees and public safety around the pipeline facilities. A comprehensive, integrated HSE management system is continuously improved and effectively implemented in PPC. PPC conducts hazard identification, risk assessment, risk control and mitigation, risk monitoring. For the oil and gas stations in highly populated area or with numerous employees, PPC carries out quantitative risk assessment (QRA) to evaluate and manage the population risk. To make the assessment, “Guidelines for quantitative risk assessments” (purple book) published by Committee for the Prevention of Disasters of Netherlands is used along with a software package. The basic principles, process, and methods of QRA technology are introduced in this article. The process is to identify the station hazards, determinate the failure scenarios of the facilities, estimate the possibilities of leakage failures, calculate the consequences of failures and damages to population, demonstrate the individual risk and social risk, and evaluate whether the risk is acceptable. The process may involve the mathematical modeling of fluid and gas spill, dispersion, fire and explosion. One QRA case in an oil pipeline station is described in this article to illustrate the application process and discuss several key issues in the assessment. Using QRA technique, about 20 stations have been evaluated in PPC. On the basis of the results, managers have taken prevention and mitigation plans to control the risk. QRAs in the pipeline station can provide a quantitative basis and valuable reference for the company’s decision-making and land use planning. Also, QRA can play a role to make a better relationship between the pipeline companies and the local regulator and public. Finally, this article delivers limitations of QRA in Chinese pipeline stations and discusses issues of the solutions.

Abstract:
Finite element method modeling for flexible coupling of gas turbine compressor package installed in one of PT. Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore North West Java (PHE ONWJ) facility has been completed. The model delivered result which is in acceptable level of accuracy as compared to manufacturer operating guideline as well as follows in general to guidance of API 671 widely used as industrial code and standard for coupling. The scope of modeling is including the static and dynamic analysis for both perfectly aligned (used as base reference) and for misaligned condition. The scope covers as well the cyclic stresses which in turns determining the disc pack life time. The major challenge on the modeling is mainly to vary the degree of misalignment and how to distribute the additional load to the flexible part of the coupling causing deformation of disc pack. The static analysis modeling reveals that the stresses are still below the yield point when aligned perfectly even in high vibration situation, but when it reaches up to 0.1 degree of misalignment with maximum torque the Von-Misses stress has exceeded the yield. The dynamic analysis shows that for similar 0.1 degree the fatigue factor of safety also has exceeded API 671 requirement. Following the actual coupling failure events, the model has successfully indicated the location of highest stress correlated to crack initiation as compared to actual cracks found in existing discs specimen. The model has been validated as well with the result of material analysis of the damaged flexible discs showing that the failure occurred due to over misalignment. In addition to manufacturer manual description, the model is capable to recommend maximum angular misalignment that need to be monitored during compressor operation and provide basis to calculate safety factor to comply API 671 guideline. As oil and gas exploration and production company which focus on possible highest energy efficiency of its operating platforms — which all is located offshore, the work leads a way in integrity management of turbo-machinery equipment in order to maximize running time and minimize production shutdown.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of primary quantitative research aiming to determine the extent to which PR tools are used by chemical companies towards the public (wide and local) in the Czech Republic. It was found that, in the opinion of the respondents, the natural publicity of the company through word of mouth and media information has the greatest influence on public opinion, while the influence of social networks has not been appreciated yet. An important contribution of the paper may be the identification of the extent of use of a complex set of PR tools in the areas of information publicity, events and corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR) recommended by literature to support business reputation among the public. Thus, it was possible to identify PR tools often used by companies, albeit not very effective, and vice versa, those PR tools that are perceived to be effective, but not yet widely used in practice. The application of research results will facilitate a better allocation of company resources among PR tools in order to more effectively meet the company’s PR objectives towards the public. The research was conducted through the electronic questioning method and involved 53 marketing and PR managers of chemical companies in the Czech Republic.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Background: Preceptorship is a time-limited, education-focused model for teaching and learning within a clinical environment that uses a clinical staff as role models. Its primary goal is to assist new staff and students in adapting to their roles, develop clinical skills and socialize the novice to a department or institution. This difference has caused various opinions from related parties. This study aimed to determine the implementation of a tutorial system from different levels of student education to the entire midwifery health care system. Subjects and Method: A scoping review method was conducted in eight stages including (1) Identification of study problems; (2) Determining priority problem and study question; (3) Determining framework; (4) Literature searching; (5) Article selection; (6) Critical appraisal; (7) Data extraction; and (8) Mapping. The search included PubMed, Wiley, Google Scholar, dan Sciendirect. The inclusion criteria were English-language and full-text articles published between 2000 and 2019. The data were selected by the PRISMA flow chart. Results: Ten articles from total of 803 articles found. It was divided into two categories: Elements in the preceptorship model and application of preceptorship. Preceptorship can help preceptors to improve teaching effectiveness and create an effective learning environment so that preceptors can perform clinical skills to improve the quality of education. The problem that arises in preceptorship in many student reports is the difficulty students experience in finding their clinical practice area. Professional organizations provide several solutions to the issues that occur in a preceptorship, one of which is paying attention to student attendance and facilitating students to give input and ideas. Conclusion: The application of the principles in the practice of midwifery clinics varies because the guideline instruments are not standardized. Full text
Abstract:
In 2007, the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) published a report titled; ‘Integrity First’. This document strives to achieve two goals: 1. For the pipeline industry to communicate performance with its stakeholders and regulators in the areas of pipeline integrity, health & safety and environmental performance. 2. To define performance success quantitatively with appropriate metrics and statistics. This IPC paper will focus on discussing the second goal — most specifically on how voluntary reporting of performance metrics is a necessity in an era of goal-based regulations. For a regulatory agency to effectively manage its dual responsibility to protect the public while facilitating efficient energy transportation, it can be argued that goal-based regulations allow for the best compromise to satisfy both responsibilities. In theory, such regulations ‘set the bar’ at a level that is acceptable to society and it is up to the pipeline company(ies) to determine the most sensible method to achieve the intended goals. Arguably, the pipeline company is in the best position to make decisions on how to safely operate the pipeline with the least amount of risk to workers, the public and the environment while assuring financially viable operations. However, there must be some mechanism to transparently demonstrate to the regulator (and ultimately the public) that the company is meeting the intent of the regulations and not allowing conflicting interests to supersede safety, reliability and environmental responsibilities.

Abstract:
The article examines the world and Ukrainian history of corporate periodicals. The main purpose of this study is to reproduce an objective global picture of the emergence and formation of corporate periodicals, taking into account the business and socio-economic context. Accordingly, its tasks are to compare the conditions and features of corporate media genesis in different countries, to determine the main factors of their development, as well as to clarify the transformations of the terminological apparatus. The research is based on mostly foreign secondary scientific works published from 1915 to the present time. The literature was studied using methods such as overview, historical, functional and thematic analysis, description, and generalization. A systematic approach was used to determine the role and place of each element in the system, as well as to comprehensively consider the object in the general historical context and within the current scientific discourse. The method of systematization made it possible to establish internal and external connections, patterns and contradictions in the development of the object of study. The main historical milestones on this path are identified, examples of the first successful corporate publications and their contribution to business development, public relations, and corporate communications are considered. It was found that corporate media emerged in the mid-nineteenth century spontaneously, on the wave of practical business needs in response to industrialization, company increase, staff growth, and consumer market development. Their appearance preceded the formation of the public relations industry and changed the structure of the information space. The scientific significance of this research is that the historical look at the evolution of corporate media provides an understanding of their place, influence, capabilities, and growing communicative role in the digital age.
