Abstract:
Nowadays, more and more children are exposed to all kinds of online games, which can bring different effects to children, both good and bad. Guild systems in some games are able to allow children to meet new people, realize the importance of teamwork and sociability, and improve their confidence and teamwork skills. Game guilds have become one of the most popular social choices for the younger generation. According to the current research, the game guild management system also has some functions that can be optimized, mainly reflected in the user's inconvenience. Therefore, we propose a reasonable and practical solution to this problem, which is to design a WeChat program to handle transactions anytime and anywhere. Based on the existing excellent cases and the analysis of various platforms and tools, this paper designs and implements a game guild management system based on Spring Boot framework, Spring Security framework and WeChat Applet. The system can serve three objects of guild: guild administrator, guild member and guild president. The main functions include member information management, association active management, reward information management, forum management and comment management. The system is easy to operation, to a certain extent to simplify the work of the guild administrator, and convenient for users and visitors.

Abstract:
AbstractThe wealthiest guilds of the Choson Dynasty (1392-1910) capital, Seoul, formed part of the government's provisioning system, providing mainly luxury goods for royal palaces, government offices and tribute gifts to China and Japan. The guild merchants were also expected to provide corvée labour to the government on a regular basis, although by the late nineteenth century much of this labour was commuted to cash payments. Using a collection of surviving documents from the guildhall of the Myonjujon (Guild of Domestic Silk Merchants), this paper looks in detail at the burden of corvée labour, particularly during the politically and economically tumultuous years between 1884 and 1894. It finds that the merchants' corvée reflected the close relationship between guilds and government and also the two-sided nature of this relationship for the merchants. Thus, while they received certain protections and privileges from the government, the guild merchants were also particularly vulnerable to official corruption, which found a damaging outlet in the corvée system.

Abstract:
Ancient India (especially during the Maurya and the Gupta empires) had an organized private credit dispensation system. Although there were no banks in the modern sense of the word, but the merchant guilds did have systematic procedure of evaluating, vetting and sanctioning of credit to its members. The system was not open to the general public but then, the membership of the guild could be acquired quite easily by anyone desirous and serious enough to do business in the specific area that a particular guild promoted. This system of credit dispensation remained in India till the advent of the British East India Company.

Abstract:
This article investigates the relationship between social mobility and status in guilds and the political situation in sixteenth-century Ghent. First, it argues that Ghent guilds showed neither a static picture of upward mobility nor a rectilinear and one-way evolution. It demonstrates that the opportunities for social promotion within the guild system were, to a great extent, determined by the successive political regimes of the city. Second, the article proves that the guild boards in the sixteenth century had neither a typically oligarchic nor a typically democratic character. Third, the investigation of the houses in which master craftsmen lived shows that guild masters should not be depicted as a monolithic social bloc, but that significant differences in status and wealth existed. The article concludes that there was no linear positive connection between the duration of a master craftsman's career and his wealth and social position.

Abstract:
In this paper, I analyse the educational and teaching systems developed for boys joining Vilnius craft workshops. The boys worked (participating in production) and prepared themselves for their future profession. In my paper, I present the educational and teaching paths leading to an apprentice assuming the status of a fellow. It is interesting how the students operated in the structures of the guild workshops and what skills they possessed. The research does not encompass the sons of master craftsmen and out-of-guild craftsmen who would come to Vilnius and attempt to join the craft guilds. These issues require a separate analysis. It was not my intention to provide a holistic study of the issue; rather, I revised and supplemented Józef Morzy’s research in which he partly analysed craft guilds in Vilnius with respect to the essential work skills. In my analysis, I made use of the statutes of the craft guilds operating in Vilnius, one of the biggest cities in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, in the early modern period.

Abstract:
Zoologists have widely acknowledged the utility of classification systems for characterising variation in anuran egg and clutch types, tadpole morphotypes, embryonic and tadpole development, amplexus types and reproductive modes. These classification systems have facilitated unambiguous communication between researchers, often working in completely different fields (e.g. taxonomy, ecology, behaviour), as well as comparisons among studies. A syntactic system, classifying anuran call guilds, is so far lacking. Based on examination of the calls of 1253 anuran species we present a simple, easy to use dichotomous key and guild system for classifying anuran advertisement calls – the call type most frequently emitted by anurans and studied by researchers. The use of only three call elements, namely clearly-defined calls, notes, and pulses, plus presence or absence of frequency modulation, allows assigning all currently known anuran advertisement calls to one of eight distinct call guilds defined here. This novel toolkit will facilitate comparative studies across the many thousand anuran species, and may help to unravel drivers of anuran call evolution, and to identify ecological patterns at the level of acoustic communities.

Abstract:
The relationship between feeding ecology and sexual dimorphism is examined in a speciose South African monkey beetle clade. We test whether feeding and mating at a fixed site (embedding guild) is associated with greater levels of sexual dimorphism and possibly sexual selection than species using unpredictable feeding resources (non-embedding guild). Sexual dimorphism was measured using a point scoring system for hind leg and colour across the two feeding guilds for >50% of the regional fauna. Quantification of hind leg dimorphism using a scoring system and allometric scaling were used to identify traits subject to sexual selection. Feeding guild had a significant effect on hind leg dimorphism, with embedders having high and non-embedders low scores. The sessile and defendable distribution of females on stable platform flowers may favour contests and associated hind leg weaponry. In contrast, degree of colour dimorphism between the sexes was not associated with any particular feeding guild, and may serve to reduce male conflict and combat. Embedder males had high proportions (∼76%) of species with positive allometric slopes for almost all hind leg traits. For male non-embedders, only ∼37% of species showed positive scaling relationships. Phylogenetic data, in conjunction with behavioural data on the function of leg weaponry and visual signalling among males is needed to better understand the link between sexual dimorphism and sexual selection in the radiation of the monkey beetles.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the mechanisms of contract enforcement and dispute resolution in the trade of timber in Shanghai from the 1880s to the 1930s. It shows that merchant guilds, chambers of commerce, and the court system constituted complementary institutions of contract enforcement. Timber trade guilds relied on reputation mechanisms and information sharing to maintain intra-group solidarity and monitor outside trading partners. Horizontal communications among timber guilds in different localities further enhanced their capability to respond promptly to cross-regional cases. When disputes escalated beyond the scope of a single merchant guild, chambers of commerce (after 1904) and the court system became involved. Vertical communications among these organizations strengthened the continuity from informal norms of business practices to guild regulations, and thence to adjudications in court. Whereas the typical story, drawn from European history, was one of transition toward more formal institutions, this case study shows that formal and informal institutions could complement each other and that they existed along a continuum rather than in separated spheres. The convergence of the expected outcomes as a result of resorting to different platforms of dispute resolution reinforced the consistency and credibility of the cost of defaulting.

Abstract:
During the English Civil War period, parliament freed apprentices who had left their masters to serve in parliament's armed forces, thereby nullifying the postwar efforts of companies to force disbanded soldiers to return and finish their seven years of training. In effect, legislation favoring apprentices undid the traditional cooperative relationship between the English state and the guilds. By freeing apprentices who had yet to complete labor contracts, parliament made more common the practice of renegade apprentices abandoning their masters to set up shop, a problem that had plagued the guild system since its inception. The many Civil War apprentices who took advantage of these innovative state benefits can remind us that we have been too inclined to associate the unraveling of the guild system and the rise of capitalism with the bourgeoisie rather than with the laboring classes.

Abstract:
For that, we used a long-term monitoring design located in ‘Ille-Et-Vilaine’ (Brittany, France), composed by spatially pair-matched fields under organic vs. conventional farming systems. First, we found that landscape heterogeneity, also interacting with farming systems, drives the diversity and abundance of trophic groups for both ground- and vegetation-dwelling arthropods. In a second chapter, we showed the importance of landscape context in shaping assemblages of predatory arthropods, and suggested that mechanisms behind the distribution of individual species strongly differ between spiders and carabids. Lastly, we highlighted the importance of distinguishing between resident (emergent) and mobile (circulating) individuals when assessing the differential role of local vs. landscape factors in community assembly. Overall, our results show a strong and positive effect of organic farming on arthropod populations, assemblages and communities, both at local and landscape scales, as well as in interaction with other landscape metrics. We also highlighted the relevance of using different levels of biological organization, and related response variables, when assessing the structure and functioning of arthropod communities in agroecosystems

Abstract:
During the past few years an increased attention has been paid to environmental issues in the construction and property sector in Sweden. In order to simplify the work with these issues a Swedish environmental certification system for buildings called Miljöbyggnad has been developed. This thesis aims to investigate the opinion of a selected number of selected property owners of Miljöbyggnad. From that basis recommendations and actions for the future work with the system will be presented. The investigation has been conducted through personal interviews with five property owners. The main issues that the interviews have been based on are their purpose, experiences, perceived complications and future prospects in terms of certification using Miljöbyggnad. The system intends to be cost-effective, simple and to offer a relevant environmental assessment of buildings and the result from the report indicates that this is largely fulfilled. All respondents believe that Miljöbyggnad offers a relevant environmental assessment. All of them also believe that the system is simple except for some complications and 80 % believe that the system is cost-effective. In terms of the future, all interviewed property owners will most likely certify buildings under Miljöbyggnad, some to a greater extent than others. The conclusion from this investigation is that the system needs to be dynamic. Adaption to the social, environmental, technical, economical and legal conditions that prevail is vital. However, it is recommended that Miljöbyggnad retains its simplicity and avoid growing to become too comprehensive.

Abstract:
There is much previous research in the area of knowledge management and all that it may include. This case study focuses on knowledge transfer of tacit and explicit knowledge, where we identified a knowledge gap for practical tools for knowledge retention. We find that previous studies address what tacit and explicit knowledge is and the definitions for it, rather than how companies should practically use it. With this, the students have identified that there is missing an information logistic perspective for suitable tools for how tacit and explicit knowledge should be preserved in organizations. The problem in this study is that Electrolux Professional AB in Ljungby currently claim that they don't use any tools for knowledge retention and dissemination. The company is in a period when many key people who have worked at Electrolux for many years in several different departments and / or positions quit and retire. The key people possess broad knowledge, which risks leaving the company when the key people either resign or retire. The problem has been studied through interviews where the problem has been highlighted through interviews by seven employees to identify their perspective on how they preserve, disseminate and store knowledge. The result of the study highlights various tools that Electrolux use today in different departments. The study is based on the theoretical frameworks: Knowledge management, tacit and explicit knowledge, and intellectual capital. The result has shown that Electrolux already use different types of tools for spreading knowledge. The conclusion for this study is that the most important tools for the dissemination of knowledge is the individual's social network, which the individual employee gradually builds up on Electrolux over time. Factors that the study claims to influence knowledge retention are a breadth of knowledge, past experiences and the individual's awareness of how important the dissemination, preservation and storage of knowledge is. We cannot emphasize enough the importance and benefits of mapping the social network with different individuals and positions of knowledge. The mapping provides great advantages for storing, retaining and disseminating knowledge in an optimal and efficient way in organizations.

Abstract:
The Macintosh Hierarchical File System Plus, HFS+, or as it is commonly referred to as the Mac Operating System, OS, Extended, was introduced in 1998 with Mac OS X 8.1. HFS+ is an update to HFS, Mac OS Standard format that offers more efficient use of disk space, implements international friendly file names, future support for named forks, and facilitates booting on non-Mac OS operating systems through different partition schemes. The HFS+ file system is efficient, yet, complex. It makes use of B-trees to implement key data structures for maintaining meta-data about folders, files, and data. The implementation of what happens within HFS+ at volume format, or when folders, files, and data are created, moved, or deleted is largely a mystery to those who are not programmers. The vast majority of information on this subject is relegated to documentation in books, papers, and online content that direct the reader to C code, libraries, and include files. If one can't interpret the complex C or Perl code implementations the opportunity to understand the workflow within HFS+ is less than adequate to develop a basic understanding of the internals and how they work. The basic concepts learned from this research will facilitate a better understanding of the HFS+ file system and journal as changes resulting from the adding and deleting files or folders are applied in a controlled, easy to follow, process. The primary tool used to examine the file system changes is a proprietary command line interface, CLI, tool called fileXray. This tool is actually a custom implementation of the HFS+ file system that has the ability to examine file system, meta-data, and data level information that isn't available in other tools. We will also use Apple's command line interface tool, Terminal, the WinHex graphical user interface, GUI, editor, The Sleuth Kit command line tools and DiffFork 1.1.9 help to document and illustrate the file system changes. The processes used to document the pristine and changed versions of the file system, with each experiment, are very similar such that the output files are identical with the exception of the actual change. Keeping the processes the same enables baseline comparisons using a diff tool like DiffFork. Side by side and line by line comparisons of the allocation, extents overflow, catalog, and attributes files will help identify where the changes occurred. The target device in this experiment is a two-gigabyte Universal Serial Bus, USB, thumb drive formatted with Global Unit Identifier, GUID, and Partition Table. Where practical, HFS+ special files and data structures will be manually parsed; documented, and illustrated.<br>ID: 031001395; System requirements: World Wide Web browser and PDF reader.; Mode of access: World Wide Web.; Title from PDF title page (viewed May 28, 2013).; Thesis (M.S.)--University of Central Florida, 2012.; Includes bibliographical references (p. 131-132).<br>M.S.<br>Masters<br>Computer Science<br>Engineering and Computer Science<br>Digital Forensics

Christmann, Rainer Marcus. "Strafrechtliche Schuld und gesellschaftliche Wirklichkeit." Doctoral thesis, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Juristische Fakultät, 2002. http://dx.doi.org/10.18452/14764.

Full text
Abstract:
The requirement of guilt as a prerequisite for punishment is both a constitutional principle and one of the central categories of penal law. Contrary to criminal law systems that focus on the outcome of a criminal wrongdoing, a criminal law system that requires the personal guilt of the offender before imposing criminal liability considers whether the offender has the capability and possibility to act legally in a certain situation. Based on this premise, the ability to self-determine one's actions and to conform them to ethical standards is a fundamental component of the image of human kind, which constitutes the basis of the German Basic Law that emphasizes the value and dignity of every single human being. The thesis begins with a report on street robberies committed by young offenders. It then expands to an analysis of the living situation of young people in modern society and interpretations of delinquent behavior, specifically violence and crime and the effect of legislative reactions to crime within a theoretical frame of the sociology of knowledge. Proceeding from this, the author next discusses the different dogmatic concepts of guilt. He shows that law depends on social values and contends that criminology plays an active role in the process of forming an understanding of values within society. Understanding guilt as an ethical concept, the author claims a foundation of the principle of guilt independent from the purpose of punishment and criminological policies. He rejects generalized approaches to the concept of guilt. Finally, he analytically discusses modern concepts of criminological policy that are increasingly shifting into regulatory law, thereby circumventing constitutional guarantees that are specifically related to criminal proceedings.

Full text
Abstract:
碩士<br>中原大學<br>財經法律研究所<br>102<br>The Worship Guilds system in Taiwan has been implemented for long time. It did not have the Substantial Law to follow, but only the custom among the people. Until the Japanese-Occupied Period, the rulers fully and chronically investigated the Worship Guilds in Taiwan to understand the custom. The opinion of the law for the Worship Guilds was that this custom or system was not applied to the Japanese Civil Code, so it should have a special law to standardize the norm. Although the legislation of the special law was not completed due to some reasons, it still ordered the Juristic Person from the custom to empower the legal capacity in the Worship Guilds. However, when the National Government moved to Taiwan, the Civil Court suddenly changed the previous opinion and thought the Worship Guilds should follow the Civil Code, but not the custom of Worship Guilds because of the nature of the owned-in-common property. The change influenced that the drawbacks of the Worship Guilds could not be removed since the Japanese-Occupied Period, and it was disconnected between the law and the reality. Although the administrative agency repeatedly announced administrative construction and directive, and the civil Court repeatedly administered judgment and judiciary interpretation, such as the recognition of the partial custom efficacy from the inheritance of a member of the Worship Guild, it still could not fully solve the conflicts of the Worship Guilds among the custom, Substantial Law, and procedural law. This situation lasted over half a century, and it still needed to return to the system of Japanese-Occupied Period to administer a special law “Worship Guilds Act” and found “Juristic Person of Worship Guild” to solve the conflicts. This Act included not only the Juristic Person system to standardize the Worship Guild, but also the equal-gender initiatives to enlarge the qualification of members in the Worship Guild, as well as the land registration by government authority and co-ownership of respective shares to abolish the traditional Worship Guild. These actions are the final decisions from the legislators after weighing the original customs and current values. The legislation of the “Worship Guilds Act” is meaningful, especially in the solutions of the conflicts of the system and society from the traditional Worship Guild, but the protection of private rights is not complete due to the broad private rights or the lack of the knowledge of the legislators toward the custom of Worship Guilds. For example, the Act #50 “In order to abolish the Worship Guilds, “The land registration by government authority should be co-ownership of equal shares” is conflict with the “Scope of Property Right and Responsibility from a member of the Worship Guild” in addition, in the same Act, only one action to transact the land, and it should not limit the transaction of the Worship Guild. Moreover, the Act #5 orders that the member of the Worship Guild should qualify the “share the duty of ancestor worship”, but it increases the chances of conflicts when the member inherits the share. The topics discussed above in this study involve the transformation of the Worship Guilds system. The study starts from the understanding of the original custom and laws of the Worship Guilds, and then further explores the topics with the literature reviews. As to the transformation of the Worship Guilds system during the periods of Japanese-Occupied phase and the National Government moved to Taiwan, this study investigates the transformation and dis/advantages of the system from the basis of the policy. This study further provides the solutions and discussions using an inductive method on the basis of the Administrative construction, Civil court cases, Judicial construction, and researchers’ opinions. This study sheds the light on the improvement of the system and expects to be a reference for future studies.

Abstract:
While medieval guilds failed to absorb and encapsulate the entire world of labour into their fold, the moral, civic and political impact in medieval societies and the role in articulating rank in an increasingly hierarchical society is unquestionable. Guildsmen believed that their associations promoted 'justice' and that decisions within the guild should express the will of the majority of peers. However, this moral ethic, this concept of brotherhood, led to the exclusion from the world of production and, by extension, civil society, of all those who were outside the guild system. This system limited the resourcefulness of some and entailed the survival of the mediocre, but it was an acceptable compromise to ensure the security, order and reliability of the economic and social system for the majority.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this field survey of seed system dynamics in Myanmar, the authors note that the country’s dominant system of traditional agriculture faces pressure from the introduction of ‘improved’ varieties and shifts in policy. However, farmers—from small and subsistence growers to large-scale rice producers—continue to raise indigenous species. One is chinbaung, the collective term for several varieties in the genus Hibiscus. The authors traced differences in chinbaung cultivation and use among places, and examined production systems in three villages in central arid zone, each sited in a geographically distinct locale. They found that a local festival popular with seed sellers has become a prime conduit for disseminating diverse genetic resources. Poe Yon, a guild of agricultural brokerage firms with hubs in cities across the country, meanwhile involves firms and farmers in a unique relationship that ensures broader distribution. Ultimately, the autonomy of farmers has enabled agrobiodiversity to thrive in Myanmar—a success, the authors note, that agricultural policymakers should heed.

Abstract:
Shame and the family of feelings associated with it such as humiliation, mockery, ridicule, denigration, disparagement, being ‘diss’d’ etc. hardly figure in the writings of Dicks, Fairbairn, Klein and Money Kyrle. Yet it is the emotion supremely associated with splitting and schizoid states. Some argue that there is no difference between guilt and shame, but the philosopher Bernard Williams, in ‘Shame and Necessity’, succinctly and clearly distinguishes between the two: ‘The psychological model for each emotion involves an internalised figure. In the case of shame this is a watcher or a witness. In the case of guilt the figure is a victim or an enforcer.’ (p. 219) ‘In contrast to guilt, there is no need with shame that the viewer should be angry or otherwise hostile. All that is necessary is that the viewer should perceive that very situation or characteristic that the subject feels is an inadequacy, failing or loss of power.’(p.221) In recent years James Gilligan, Head of Studies in Violence at Harvard and for more than thirty years in charge of the mental health provision in the Massachusetts prison system has drawn attention to the key role of shame and the family of feelings associated with it in precipitating violence. Shame is the bacillus of violence, he argues, the vector is the kind of society that leaves people vulnerable to it, i.e. societies where there is a high degree of inequality in the form of poverty, racism, and discrimination on grounds of gender, sexuality and age. His experience of psychotherapeutic practice over thirty years with prisoners who had been convicted of horrible acts of violence taught him that they had committed these acts because their victim had ‘diss’d’ them, and that if they did not respond with violence they would be regarded as gay. Gilligan’s findings are remarkably close to those of Henry Dicks, and indeed he points out that Hitler came to power on the promise of undoing the ‘shame of Versailles’, but Gilligan came to his conclusions unaware of Dicks’s work. Gilligan claims that education, and groupwork that challenges toxic patriarchal/authoritarian ideas about masculinity, have radically reduced recidivism in the prison system, but he has also been keen to draw attention to the fact that his findings have far reaching socio-political implications, as indeed does the work of Henry Dicks. There is a danger, however, that any attempt to base policies on them may be dismissed as ‘utopian’, with the argument that utopian thinking derives from apocalyptic ideation and always ends in violence. Neither claim has any historical foundation. Norman Cohn points out that apocalyptic ideas appealed to the marginalised, to the landless, or those with too little land to support life, to the powerless, who were understandably attracted to the notion of an all-powerful god who would rescue them and punish their abusers. The major example of apocalyptic thinking in the past two thousand years, moreover, has been Christianity, which, at its very heart, has a profound commitment to non-violence. Utopian experiments may derive from apocalyptic ideas or they may not, but there are various examples like Robert Owen’s New Lanark that simply came to a peaceful end.

Abstract:
Due to the significant demand for land resources and rapid urbanization, reclamation has become one of the essential choices for developing coastal cities. However, the intensive reclamation projects lead to the high vulnerability of the delta. Attention to the general discussion of ecological security, vulnerability, and sustainability has proliferated in recent years, but insufficient attention has been paid to a detailed explanation of the specific human activities' impact on the overall delta from a narrative historical aspect. In this article, the Deltas of Netherlands and Pearl River Delta (PRD) in multiple scales are selected as cases. The two deltas share similarities in geography, physical system description, ecological system, management Issues, and human activities. The comparative analysis offers a means to improve the understanding of mechanisms for addressing ecological vulnerability by comparing two deltas in social and environmental aspects. The analysis section elaborates the similar reclamation history of two deltas by the sequence of three stages. By comparing the diverse responses of respective projects in macroscale and microscale with similar morphological and ecological features, it is effortless to improve the understanding of reactive mechanisms of systems, which directly affect the vulnerability index. The Vulnerability index will also be listed and elaborated corresponding to the historical stages. Moreover, successful examples of the Netherlands show the advanced experiments in guild thinking, governance, strategies. Thus, the comparative analysis provides comprehensive syntheses, mechanistic insights, and feasible alternatives to PRD. And beneficial guidance to develop a sustainable urban delta could be proposed.
