Hufvudsson, Marcus. "DATAKONSUMTIONEN I EN GWT-APPLIKATION : En jämförelsestudie mellan en webbapplikation skriven i GWT och en traditionell webbsite." Thesis, Högskolan i Skövde, Institutionen för informationsteknologi, 2014. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:his:diva-9508.

Full text
Abstract:

O'Brien, Maureen Anne. "The Use of Mock Code Training in Improving Resuscitation Response." ScholarWorks, 2015. https://scholarworks.waldenu.edu/dissertations/1607.

Full text
Abstract:
The American Heart Association's Get With the Guidelines (GWTG) has established measures for how quickly a resuscitation team is to respond in a cardiac arrest with performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation. Two of the core measures for GWTG require initiation of CPR within 1 minute of cardiac arrest and defibrillation within 2 minutes in at least 85% of cases. The problem of interest in this Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project was that the facility had not been able to reach 85% on these 2 measures. The purpose of this project was to achieve nursing response times for CPR and defibrillation to meet the core measures. Using the logic model, the project leader implemented mock code training over an 8-week period on the medical-surgical units. The study design for this project was a nonexperimental, retrospective chart review. Compliance data were obtained from the American Heart Association's GWTG database for the facility before and after implementation of mock code training. The results included a review of 10 cardiac arrest cases that occurred after implementation of training. There was 100% compliance with initiation of first compression within 1 minute of cardiac arrest. However, of 2 cases that required defibrillation, only 1 received the shock within 2 minutes. Quantitative descriptive analysis used percentages and a runs chart to compare response times prior to training with response times after training. The chart showed improvement in the area of first compression in meeting the goal of 85% compliance. As a result, the facility will continue to implement mock code training on a routine basis in its effort to improve patient outcomes, including survival and quality of life.

Abstract:
The traditional definition of a dynamic web application is about a collection of programs executed at server-side to provide content for clients. These types of web applications produce content at server-side and deliver it to their clients via multiple pages. In result, the client-side has the responsibility to render the content and perform a limited amount of calculations to increase the performance and user experience.    Meteor is a web framework designed for developing Single Page Applications and compared with traditional web frameworks, it takes a new approach in which most of the computations are done at the client-side. This leads to having the server-side primarily used for data storage and secondarily performing a limited amount of computations based on the Model View View-Model pattern.    This thesis tries to examine how web development is affected by Meteor framework from different angles by performing an experimental analysis on Meteor framework. It will investigate different attributes of Meteor framework used for developing a real-world application and finally concludes by presenting the advantages and disadvantages of using it.

Lee, Cameron C. "The Development of a Gridded Weather Typing Classification Scheme." Thesis, Kent State University, 2014. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=3618946.

Full text
Abstract:
<p> Since their development in the 1990s, gridded reanalysis data sets have proven quite useful for a broad range of synoptic climatological analyses, especially those utilizing a map pattern classification approach. However, their use in broad-scale, surface weather typing classifications and applications have not yet been explored. This research details the development of such a gridded weather typing classification (GWTC) scheme using North American Regional Reanalysis data for 1979-2010 for the continental United States. </p><p> Utilizing eight-times daily observations of temperature, dew point, pressure, cloud cover, u-wind and v-wind components, the GWTC categorizes the daily surface weather of 2,070 locations into one of 11 discrete weather types, nine core types and two transitional types, that remain consistent throughout the domain. Due to the use of an automated deseasonalized z-score initial typing procedure, the character of each type is both geographically and seasonally relative, allowing each core weather type to occur at every location, at any time of the year. Diagnostic statistics reveal a high degree of spatial cohesion among the weather types classified at neighboring locations, along with an effective partitioning of the climate variability of individual locations (via a Variability Skill Score metric) into these 11 weather types. Daily maps of the spatial distribution of GWTC weather types across the United States correspond well to traditional surface weather maps, and comparisons of the GWTC with the Spatial Synoptic Classification are also favorable. </p><p> While the potential future utility of the classification is expected to be primarily for the resultant calendars of daily weather types at specific locations, the automation of the methodology allows the classification to be easily repeatable, and therefore, easily transportable to other locations, atmospheric levels, and data sets (including output from gridded general circulation models). Further, the enhanced spatial resolution of the GWTC may also allow for new applications of surface weather typing classifications in mountainous and rural areas not well represented by airport weather stations.</p><p> </p>

Cho, Sylvia. "Data Quality Assessment for the Secondary Use of Person-Generated Wearable Device Data: Assessing Self-Tracking Data for Research Purposes." Thesis, 2021. https://doi.org/10.7916/d8-jcmb-gw93.

Full text
Abstract:
The Quantified Self movement has led to an increased routine use of consumer wearables, generating large amounts of person-generated wearable device data. This has become an opportunity to researchers to conduct research with large-scale person-generated wearable device data without having to collect data in a costly and time-consuming way. However, there are known challenges of wearable device data such as missing data or inaccurate data which raises the need to assess the quality of data before conducting research. Currently, there is a lack of in-depth understanding on data quality challenges of using person-generated wearable device data for research purposes, and how data quality assessment should be conducted. Data quality assessment could be especially a burden to those without the domain knowledge on a specific data type, which might be the case for emerging biomedical data sources. The goal of this dissertation is to advance the knowledge on data quality challenges and assessment of person-generated wearable device data and facilitate data quality assessment for those without the domain knowledge on the emerging data type. The dissertation consists of two aims: (1) identifying data quality dimensions important for assessing the quality of person-generated wearable device data for research purposes, (2) designing and evaluating an interactive data quality characterization tool that supports researchers in assessing the fitness-for-use of fitness tracker data. In the first aim, a multi-method approach was taken, conducting literature review, survey, and focus group discussion sessions. We found that intrinsic data quality dimensions applicable to electronic health record data such as conformance, completeness, and plausibility are applicable to person-generated wearable device data. In addition, contextual/fitness-for-use dimensions such as breadth and density completeness, and temporal data granularity were identified given the fact that our focus was on assessing data quality for research purposes. In the second aim, we followed an iterative design process from understanding informational needs to designing a prototype, and evaluating the usability of the final version of a tool. The tool allows users to customize the definition of data completeness (fitness-for-use measures), and provides data summarization on the cohort that meets that definition. We found that the interactive tool that incorporates fitness-for-use measures and allows customization on data completeness, can support assessing fitness-for-use assessment more accurately and in less time than a tool that only presents information on intrinsic data quality measures.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立中正大學<br>資訊工程所<br>98<br>In order to popularize our Cadabia database system, we have studied how to use the GWT tools to develop Web applications for the Cadabia database. Through a Web browser, users can easily use Cadabia. Unlike the old Java application user interface, where users must install the Java runtime interpreter to use the Cadabia database system, GWT allows developers to write Ajax applications in their Java development tools in the Java language, and then the GWT compiler translates the Java source code into optimized JavaScript. This JavaScript can run across all browsers. So, we choose this GWT tool to develop the default Web editor for the Cadabia database system.

Abstract:
Dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Master of Science in Geospatial Technologies.<br>Sensor Networks have become very popular in recent years. With the proliferation of the use of these networks for very different purposes, it has appeared also the necessity of developing one standard to unify all these types of networks and make them interoperable. This standard is Sensor Observation Service (SOS) and was developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) in 2007 as part of the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) activities. The access to the information provided by sensor networks can be done using PC, laptops on mobile devices such as mobile phones, and that’s why in this project, it has been developed a thin client in Google Web Toolkit (GWT), which follows the SOS standard to access to all information contained in the server without overloading the device.
