Abstract:
As the gymnasiums in subtropical region with hot and humid climate are naturally ventilated during non-competition periods, occupants exercising indoors often feel uncomfortable, especially in summer. In order to provide thermally comfortable and healthy environment for the occupants, the design on architectural form is found to be an effective solution on improving indoor thermal comfort of naturally ventilated gymnasiums. Therefore, a new perspective regarding optimization of naturally ventilated gymnasiums is proposed in the aspect of the architectural form. This paper presents the optimization of architectural form in naturally ventilated gymnasiums in which simulation and orthogonal experiment methods are combined. Through numerical simulation with FlowDesigner software, the significance of architectural form affecting indoor thermal comfort has been given, and the optimal architectural forms of naturally ventilated gymnasium are determined. The results show that the roof insulation type is the most significant factor influencing indoor thermal comfort; thus, it should be considered primarily in optimization. Moreover, the range analysis and variance analysis reveal the rankings of the factors for the gymnasium thermal comfort. In addition, it is demonstrated that the optimal gymnasium model, when compared with the initial gymnasium model, has a satisfactory effect on improving the indoor thermal comfort, as the average value of Predicted Thermal Sensation (PTS) in August decreased from 1.11 (Slightly hot) to 0.86 (Comfortable). This study provides a new insight for the designers in optimizing the architectural form of gymnasiums for achieving the indoor thermal comfort at hot and humid climate.

Abstract:
Background: Nutritional supplements refer to a product ingested to increase the nutritional content of a normal diet, to fill a dietary need and/or presumed deficiency. The usage and popularity of nutritional supplements, however, raises concerns from a health benefit and risk perspective. In South Africa, there is currently no adequate regulatory framework of enforcement for nutritional supplement products and undeclared constituents by the statutory body, the Medicines Control Council (MCC). Education awareness programmes by organisations that should take consumer protection and the general public health and wellness as a right, needs to be improved. Objectives: To investigate the attitudes toward nutritional supplements by adult gym users from commercial gymnasiums in the Johannesburg North region of South Africa. Methods: A cross-sectional quantitative design, using a selfadministered questionnaire was applied to 364 recruited study participants who attended commercial gymnasiums in Johannesburg North. Results: One hundred and fifty users (41%) claimed that they ‘always’ read the information about the nutritional values, benefits, and side effects of the supplements on the labels prior to use. Three hundred and three users (83%) indicated that the number of users of nutritional supplements in gymnasiums is on the increase. Two hundred and seventy-three (75%) of main information sources for nutritional supplements may be found on the internet, while 292 (80%) indicated the need for gymnasiums to provide educational programmes pertaining to nutritional supplement consumption. Conclusion: Gymnasium users are aware of the increase in nutritional supplement use in commercial gymnasiums. Many of the users were unaware of the potential mislabelling and health concerns regarding these supplements. Therefore there is a need for improved nutritional supplement education programmes and diligence at multiple levels.

Abstract:
Modernization, which consisted in the transition from feudalism to capitalism in post-reform Russia, had a significant impact on education. Due to the fact that the Russian Empire was a classic world economy with a large city at its center, it varied in the development of different territories. In the Tomsk Province, as well as in the center of the country, there was a large city — Tomsk, and smaller cities in the same way included the surrounding territories in their sphere of economic and socio-cultural influence. In order to replenish the staff, pedagogical classes were organized in gymnasiums. They were of particular relevance for Siberia, where there was only one university at the beginning of the 20th century. Detailed sources remained on the pedagogical class of the Barnaul First Women's Gymnasium. In this regard, it is relevant to study this topic on the materials of this gymnasium. The preserved protocols of the trial lessons contain information about the requirements for teachers and students in pedagogical class. The experience of prerevolutionary gymnasiums can be useful in our time.

Abstract:
A long-span sports centre generally comprises multiple stadiums and gymnasiums, for which mutual interference effects of wind-induced snow motion are not explicitly included in the specifications of various countries. This problem is addressed herein by performing wind tunnel tests and numerical simulations to investigate the snow distribution and mutual interference effect on the roofs of long-span stadiums and gymnasiums. The wind tunnel tests were used to analyse the influences of the opening direction (0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°) and spacing (0.3 L, 0.5 L, 1 L, 1.5 L, 2 L, and 2.5 L, where L is the gymnasium span) of the stadium and gymnasium. The wind tunnel tests and numerical simulations were used to analyse the influence of the wind direction angle (from 0° to 315°, there are a total of eight groups in 45° intervals). The following results were obtained. The stadium opening had a significant effect on the snow distribution on the surface of the two structures. An even snow distribution was obtained when the stadium opened directly facing the gymnasium, which corresponded to the safest condition for the structures’ surfaces. As the spacing between the buildings increased, the interference effect between the two structures was reduced. The interference was negligible for a spacing of 2 L. The stadium had the most significant amplification interference effect on the gymnasium for a wind direction angle of 45°, which was extremely unfavourable to the safety of the structure. The most favourable wind direction angle was 270°, where there were both amplification interference and blockage interference.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to explore and optimize natural lighting schemes for college gymnasiums through dynamic light environment simulation. The study used Daysim software, combined with Rhino & Grasshopper for modeling and parameter optimization, to evaluate different lighting schemes through a multi-objective optimization approach. The results show that the effective indoor illuminance of the top lighting scheme at DA300lx, UDI100-2000lx, aDGP(0.4), DA580lx, and UDI300-890lx are 91.50%, 88.44%, 90.58\%, 92.56%, and 52.89%, respectively, which show good lighting effects. The side lighting scheme also shows excellent lighting performance in different configurations. In addition, the side + top synergistic light harvesting scheme achieved efficient light environment utilization while ensuring visual comfort. This study suggests that the top and side synergistic lighting scheme can effectively enhance the natural lighting effect of the gymnasium. This study provides a scientific basis for the lighting design of college gymnasiums and is of great significance in guiding the actual engineering design.

Abstract:
The study described in this article analyses the interpersonal relationships between the classmates in their first grade of gymnasium, as well as the factors influencing on these relations. Empirical study has confirmed the interpersonal relationships between the fist-grade gymnasium students to play an important role in their adjustment to the school community. The aim of the study: to determine the factors regulating the interpersonal relationships between the fist-grade gymnasium students during their adjustment in the school community. The object of the study: the interpersonal relationships between the fist-grade gymnasium students during their adjustment in the school community. Organisation and ethics of the study Both qualitative and quantitative surveys were carried out following the research ethics. The concept of the study was presented to the administration, teachers and students of the gymnasium involved in the study. Every participant received the explanation of the goals of the study, was guaranteed the anonymity and was ensured a free personal choice for participation. The research was conducted only on the approval of the administration of gymnasium and the student’s parents. The timing of surveys was adapted to the respondents’ comfort. The total of 482 first-grade gymnasium pupils and 377 teachers participated in the quantitative survey. Area covered by this research included the gymnasiums of Vilnius, Kaunas, Šiauliai, Klaipėda, Tauragė, Telšiai and Utena districts and Elektrėnai, Klaipėda, Mažeikiai, Panevėžys, Utena, Vilnius, Tauragė towns. 51 of the participant students coming from the Vilnius and Klaipėda city gymnasiums were also involved in the qualitative research. The survey was carried out by a researcher passively participating in the class meeting. The methods used Study of the scientific publications, questionnaire-based surveys, semi-structured essays. Data of the quantitative surveys was processed with SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 17.0 Windows software. For the statistical analysis we used the methods of descriptive statistics, the criteria of Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman’s correlation and factor analysis. Statistical significance of the trait differences was evaluated by Pearsons Chi-Square (c2) test and Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Analysis of data of the qualitative assay was based on the strategy by I. E. Seidman, inductive reasoning, content analysis and constant comparative method. The main results and conclusions The obtained data has shown that the interpersonal relationships in the newly formed class of gymnasium depend upon the following factors active during the adaptation process: perception of a membership in gymnasium‘s community, feelings of safety and respect, absence of bullying, number of earlier-formed friendships in the class. It’s worth noticing that the psychological climate in school as well as bullying affect the formation of new friendship bonds within a new class. The very basis of the adaptation process is the atmosphere of trust and collaboration. It facilitates the constructive problem-solving and encourages the personalities of the gymnasium fist-grades to unfold. We have also discovered that the familial structure of the students influences the formation of interpersonal relationships in their new class. Pupils placed into completely newly-formed classes, which exclude any former classmates from the 8th grade of school, have displayed a more favorable attitude towards spending time with their new classmates.

Abstract:

Abstract:

In the article the author examines the role of classic gymnasium in the education of the leading fi gures of the Silver Age. The selection of most prominent fi gures (six representatives from each of the four groups, - symbolist poets, non-symbolist poets, prose writers and around-literary fi gures (patrons of art, publishers, essayists) shows that classic gymnasium was the dominating type of their education. A proportionally similar role belonged to the cadet schools (the smaller number of representatives can be explained by the smaller number of this type of educational institutions); such institution types as real gymnasiums and theological seminaries were much less represented. The most prominent educational institution of the classic type was L.I. Polivanov’s Moscow private gymnasium. From the above it can be concluded that in contemporary Russia, where respective educational institutions are lacking, the cultural heyday comparable to that of the Silver Age, is not possible

based on regulatory and archival documents analysis, the article considers the problem-solving experience when opening noble gymnasiums’ boarding schools in the Kiev educational district curator’s council activities. The Council’s position on this issue, the procedure for making and executing its decisions are clarified on the example of opening the second boarding school at the first Kiev gymnasium in 1836. Thoroughly analysing the state of affairs of the already-performing noble boarding school at the first Kiev gymnasium, Kiev educational district curator’s council members came to the conclusion that one more boarding school opening was necessary. They either approved of the staff developed by the educational district curator, and made proposals on sources of its initial arrangement funding. It is established that the opinion of Kiev educational district curator’s council regarding the second noble boarding school opening at the first Kyiv gymnasium was taken into account by the Ministry of public education when making the final decision.

Abstract:
From a sociological point of view, the article examines the problem of differentiation of Russian schools, which came in the post-Soviet era to replace the relative equality of educational opportunities. The differentiation of schools, presumably, did not lead to the differentiation of Russian teachers. In general, there are few studies comparing schools and teachers in different schools by any parameter. The everyday practices of teachers are also poorly studied by both sociology and social psychology and social pedagogy. The current moment of time is unique because the restrictions introduced during the pandemic have created new conditions for the work of educational institutions. In this regard, it was decided to study the differences in the attitude of school teachers that have the status of a gymnasium or lyceum, and schools that do not have such a status, to the conditions and opportunities for the manifestation of activity and initiatives, as well as differences in the practices of professional activity, including during pandemics. The research method is a questionnaire survey. The empirical object was the teachers of the middle and senior level of secondary schools in the city of Novosibirsk. Differences in teachers› perception of conditions and opportunities for the manifestation of activity were revealed, as well as differences in the practices of manifestation of activity, indicating a more favorable situation in gymnasiums and lyceums than in schools. There were no types of teacher activity in which school teachers would be more active than teachers of gymnasiums and lyceums. A common problem for teachers in both types of educational institutions is overload, which is felt more strongly by teachers in gymnasiums and lyceums. The possibilities of attracting outside organizations of specialists to the school are discussed as a solution to the problem of teacher overload and elimination of inequality of opportunities.

Abstract:
Compared to other parts of the Nordic education systems the Danish gymnasium or upper secondary school has been reformed very late. Today however, the tendencies in neoliberal educational politics represented by the European Bologna process, the PISA studies and OECD’s recommendations are implemented in national governance in Denmark, and the gymnasiums have to adapt to the new management technologies embedded in New Public Management: Competence orientation, accountability and commercialisation as means or ends. How are gymnasium principals coping with this new situation? This article sheds light on strategies that gymnasium heads will use to create room for manoeuvre and the discourse they draw upon in order to give these strategies political legitimacy. The analysis shows how the Danish tradition of self-management, participant or ‘bottom-up democracy’ continues to have considerable significance. Despite internationalisation the traditional Danish concepts of self-ownership and cooperativeness still appear to be mental shapes or frames of understanding.

Abstract:
Through building performance simulations, previous studies showed the effect of occupants on buildings' energy consumption. To further demonstrate this effect using empirical evidence, this study analyzed the effect of occupancy on real-time electricity consumption in three case-study schools in Manitoba. Within each school, one classroom as well as the gymnasium were sub-metered to collect real-time electricity consumption data at half-hourly intervals. The study focused on electricity consumption for lighting and plug loads, which make up 30% of energy consumption in Canadian commercial and institutional buildings. A comprehensive method was developed to investigate energy-related occupant behaviour in the sub-metered spaces using four different tools simultaneously: 1) gymnasium bookings after school hours over a four-month period, 2) half-hourly observations of lighting and equipment use in the sub-metered spaces in each school over a two-week period, 3) a daily survey administered to teachers in the sub-metered classrooms over a two-week period, and 4) occupancy and light sensors to evaluate actual recorded occupancy and light use durations over a four-month period. Results showed that recorded occupancy durations over a 4-month period only explained less than 10% of the variations in classrooms' lighting electricity consumption, meaning that lights may have been used frequently while classrooms were unoccupied. Results also showed the differences in gymnasiums' electricity consumption were still statistically significant between the three schools, even after school hours and when the gymnasiums were not used or booked for other activities. This study is the first to provide in-depth evaluation of the effect of occupancy on electricity consumption in Canadian schools.

The badminton gymnasium of Beijing University of Technology is the main built gymnasium for Olympic Games in 2008 in Beijing. Based on the design requirement, the velocity in the playing-field should be less than 0.2m/s in the region of 9m above the playing-fields ground. To guarantee the design requirement, this paper uses the methods of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology and field test to optimize and modify the original design of the cavity’s structure. After optimization and modification, plenum makes obvious sense on air distribution of structure of the cavity, which guarantees the 9100 swirl diffusers uniform air supply under the grandstand seats, the velocity in the playing-field is less than 0.2m/s, which meets the design requirement. The results can be referred to optimization design of air-conditioning ventilation system in large badminton gymnasiums.

Abstract:
The applicability of the in-situ measurement method for sound absorption characteristics of materials using the ensemble averaging technique, i.e. EA method, is examined. A series of in-situ measurement are conducted at two gymnasiums located in Oita-city, Japan. Two kinds of building materials are measured: one is a small sized glass-wool panel which is brought around from one gymnasium to the other; and the others are building materials installed on the floors/walls of each gymnasium. The glass-wool panel has the dimensions of 0.5 m by 0.5 m by 0.05 m and with the density of 32 kg m^(-3). Several measurements are conducted during badminton plays are undergoing. Measured sound absorption coefficients of the glass-wool panel revealed that most results agree well with those measured in reverberation rooms and that measured values of floors and walls show acceptable consistencies.

Abstract:
In this study, the authors used shake-table tests to assess the modal parameters of a small-scale gymnasium model with simulated damage, the feasibility of estimating the damage to large-span building structures was studied. In Japan, large-span structures, such as gymnasiums, are expected to be used as evacuation shelters when a natural disaster occurs. As the shelter itself may be damaged in case of an earthquake, it is critical to determine whether damage has occurred, where it occurred, and how serious it is, before the shelter is used. The small-scale gymnasium was designed based on the similarity rule. Observed earthquake ground motions scaled to aftershock levels were applied to the model. The natural frequencies and mode shapes were obtained from the measured response accelerations. To study the influence of structural damage on the modal parameters, a gymnasium model with simulated damage was also tested. The results indicate that the modal parameters, e.g., natural frequencies and mode shapes, can be obtained from the response accelerations, and the damage patterns can be estimated from the changes in these modal parameters.

Professional information and consultation services, provided effectively are the most important teaching and occupation policy element at the national, regional and local levels, also a constituent part of active labour market policy. The aim of Professional information centres (PIC) is to provide qualitative information about the world of professions, to encourage self cognition, to help making a decision which profession to choose while projecting one’s career, to provide parents and pedagogues with necessary information and support. New professional information and consultation service provision tendencies having formed, the demand of obtaining virtual information is getting more urgent for a contemporary man. Therefore, PIC internet cafes’ informativeness and provided information conformance to consumer demands are analysed in this research. The research is based on objectivism, which requires neutrality, indifference from social sciences and researchers, fact registration without their social, political evaluation. The authors keep the position, that the research based on objectivism accepts social information as objective information about really existing phenomena and processes. Analysing information in gymnasium internet cafes about PIC activity, qualitative approach dominates, i.e. interpretive paradigm which harmoniously matches with normative paradigm. Data for the research were collected between September and December, 2011. The information about accredited PIC activity was selected from 76 gymnasium internet cafes. In order to analyse research data, measures of descriptive statistics (absolute and percentage frequencies) are applied. Analysing research data, repetition frequencies of categories PIC link in the internet menu bar, PIC localisation place, PIC working hours, people participating in PIC activity, responsibilities of people participating in gymnasium PIC activity, aims and tasks of PIC activity, PIC cooperation, PIC consultations, PIC activity forms for students, PIC activity forms for students’ parents, PIC methodological help for class teachers, PIC methodological support for subject teachers, PIC information spread were measured. The obtained results allowed to identify, what information about PIC activity is provided in gymnasium internet cafes, the problems of its provision in virtual space and to create recommendatory universal PIC activity provision model, adapted for providing information in gymnasium internet café. Abstract:
The daylighting environment in university gymnasiums affects daily teaching and sports training. However, direct sunlight, glare, and indoor overheating in summer are common problems. Semi-transparent photovoltaic glass can solve these issues by replacing shading facilities, blocking solar radiation, and generating electricity. This study examines the influence of different types of CdTe semi-transparent film photovoltaic glass on the daylighting environment of six typical university gymnasium skylights. The optimal types of CdTe semi-transparent film photovoltaic glass are determined by dynamic daylighting performance metrics DA, DAcon, DAmax, and UDI. The results show that, for instance, centralized rectangular skylights benefit from the 50–60% transmittance type, while centralized X-shaped skylights require the 70–80% transmittance type to enhance indoor daylighting. The research results offer specific recommendations based on skylight shapes and photovoltaic glass types and can provide a reference for the daylighting design of university gymnasium buildings with different forms of photovoltaic skylights in the future.

Abstract The article based on the sociocultural approach to literacy (Barton & Hamilton 1998, Barton 2007, Eames 2006, Gee 2012). The literacy has to do with reading, whereas multiple abilities to “read” certain types of texts in certain ways or at certain levels are used. This allows to claim that in that area various types of abilities are needed depending on the type of literacy and there is a set of literacy practices (Gee 2012, 40). Based on sociocultural approach conducted in 2007 the survey Literacy level of students of adult gymnasiums. The survey focuses on the analysis of literacy of young adults learning at adult gymnasiums in Estonia. The main research question was: how do young adults who learn at adult gymnasiums assess their coping with literacy-related activities and what are their skills in reading texts with different degrees of difficulty? The survey revealed that the majority of young adults who had had reading difficulties during childhood also experienced reading difficulties as adults. Significant proportion of young adults learning at adult gymnasiums had difficulties with finding necessary information in written texts and using this information.

Abstract:
In this study, the influence of the gymnasium building form on energy consumption and photovoltaic (PV) potential was investigated to address its high energy consumption and carbon emissions issues. Five cities in different climate zones in China (Harbin, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Kunming) were selected as case study environments to simulate and calculate the energy use intensity (EUI), photovoltaic power generation potential (PVPG), and CO2 emission (CE) indicators for 10 typical gymnasium building forms, while also assessing the impact of building orientation. This study found that changes in gymnasium building orientation can cause a 0.5–2.5% difference in EUI under the five climatic conditions, whereas changes in building form can cause a 1.9–6.4% difference in EUI. After integrating a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system on the roof, changes in building orientation and form can lead to a 0–14.4% and 7.6–11.1% difference in PVPG and a 7.8–68.1% and 8.7–72.0% difference in CE. The results demonstrate that both the choice of form and orientation contribute to a reduction in carbon emissions from BIPV gymnasiums, with the rational choice of form having a higher potential for carbon savings than orientation. These research findings can guide the initial selection of gymnasium designs to pursue low-carbon goals.

Abstract:
The article deals with the information about the parents' committee in Biysk Nikolayevskaya Women's Gymnasium in the early 20th century. Parents' committees were an important part of gymnasium life, but little attention is paid to their studying. Minutes of the meetings of the parents' committee of the Biysk Women's Gymnasium have been preserved, which contain information about the thinking of the students' parents at that time. In addition, details of the daily life of the students were mentioned in the discussions. The modernization in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, which consisted in the transition from feudalism to capitalism, had a strong impact on the mentality of Russian society. It was also reflected in the life of educational institutions. Modernist features appeared in society, but at the same time many traditional ones remained. The gap between the generations was widening. Parents' committees were an important forum for the students' parents to speak out. In this regard, their meetings were used to discuss pressing issues of concern to Russian society. The study of daily life and thinking of pre-revolutionary gymnasiums may have practical value in our time.

Abstract:
The point of this study is to cover the issue of history of women’s secondary education in Katerynoslavprovince in the 2nd half of the XIX – early XX centuries. Patriarchal judgments and views on the women’srole have been characteristic of the society of the Russian Empire for centuries. It has been found out thatthe democratic reforms of the 60-70s of the XIX century marked the beginning of the changes towardswomanhood. The historical premises for the formation of the women’s education system are covered. Itis established that the creation of women’s educational institutions of all classes in terms of legislativeframework begins in the 1950’s. Women’s educational institutions were subordinate to different institutionsand had different organizational and educational backgrounds. Thus, the Ministry of Public Education hadthe most rights and opportunities in the sphere of education. In addition to state schools, there were privateand public schools. It is established that the new system of educational sector management is claimed asstate-public. The main types of general secondary schools in Katerynoslav province in the II half of theXIX – early XX centuries were gymnasiums, progymnasiums, parochial secondary school for girls. Thefeatures of the financial situation of the gymnasiums on the example of certain educational institutions arerevealed. Thus, a large number of women’s gymnasiums and progymnasiums and their popularity withthe population were directly related to the rapid economic development of the region and the vigorousactivity of local self-government bodies. The content of education of those secondary schools is defined. The popularity of gymnasiums with the population comes from their class-inclusive nature. The range ofwomen’s gymnasiums in the early XX century is distinguished on grounds of division into classes andreligion. Education for daughters of clergymen was of a limited nature compared to the gymnasiums. As aresult, women’s religious secondary education evolved less dynamically. It is established that the religiousaffairs authority opened professional secondary educational institutions – parochial secondary school forgirls – primarily for the daughters of clergymen. There was only one such school in Katerynoslav province– in the principal town of the province. The content of the education of parochial secondary school forgirls is described. The proportion of disciplines of the humanities and mathematical and natural sciences iscompared. The article states that the end of the XIX - early XX centuries was marked by the decline in thesystem of parochial secondary school for girls, and defines the content of the reforms of the religious affairsauthority. The sources of funding of Katerynoslav parochial secondary school for girls and gymnasiums arecompared. The role of parochial secondary school for girls in the problem of providing public school withteachers is figured out.

Abstract:
Abstract There are no uniform exit tests in physics at the end of secondary school studies in the Czech Republic to give a picture of what students take away from their physics studies. Therefore, we decided to take advantage of the fact that in 1995 the Czech Republic participated in the TIMSS international survey of learning outcomes in mathematics and science, in which for the first and also the last time secondary school students were tested, including those who had taken more demanding mathematics and physics courses. The specialised physics 90-minute test was then taken by students in the final year of four-year gymnasiums in the Czech Republic. This particular physics test was administered to current gymnasium students. Gymnasium students represent the population of secondary school students who have physics instruction listed as a compulsory part of their education in the Framework Educational Programmes. Therefore, these respondents can provide very valuable information about what students take away from studying physics in primary and secondary school. Abstract:
Identifying gifted children and teenagers and their educational needs is one of the most relevant psychological and pedagogical problems, which is currently of great interest worldwide. Recognizing person's talents in education does not create added value by itself, the design of the educational process and the progress of the person's maturity related to diagnostics is much more valuable. The article analyzes how to educate gifted children, how different trends in the education of gifted children are developed, and what means are used to achieve affordable, high quality, modern education that meets the needs of a free civil society. The aim of the qualitative research was to reveal the views of Lithuanian and Ukrainian teachers about the peculiarities of the education of gifted students in gymnasiums. The data obtained during the research in identifying gifted students, the peculiarities of the education of these students and the effectiveness of educational tools revealed the educational difficulties faced by teachers and the opportunities for improving the education of gifted students in gymnasium. A qualitative study of teachers' views revealed that the identification of gifted students in the gymnasiums of both countries takes place when teachers pay attention to such student traits as creativity, critical thinking, etc.; teachers of both countries apply additional and individualized teaching methods when working with gifted students. The findings of the study revealed teachers' views about the effectiveness of educational methods of gifted students, the difficulties of educating gifted students, and provided practice-based suggestions for pedagogues who educate gifted students.

The graduates-maturists had the opportunity to continue their studies at the university after its completion. The Academic Gymnasium was the oldest gymnasium with the Ukrainian language of instruction. The information concerning the gymnasium's organization's functioning and principles till 1848 was lost due to revolutionary events. We can find the data about the organization of the institution's functioning, the number of teachers and students, and their social origin from 1849. At the same time, this date coincides with the secondary school's reform in 1849 based on the «Organizational Essay of High Schools and Actual Schools of Austria» and the «Normative Plan of Education for Gymnasia», which functioned until 1910 with minor changes. Exactly these normative documents regulated the functioning of the gymnasium - the organization of the educational process, the language of teaching, the priority of disciplines, the number and load of teachers, the organization of extra-curricular activities of high school students. Since 1907, the gymnasium is reorganized into the Main Gymnasium due to the number of students' growth and moving into a newly built building on L. Sapieha street and the Branch in the premises of the Narodnyi dim (People's Hall). The educational process in the gymnasium was carried out based on ministerial plans. By the end of the 20th century, more than 60% of the educational time was spent on learning languages, and the natural and mathematical cycle reached 25%, which indicates the humanitarian direction of gymnasium preparation. The situation was changed by the curriculum for classical gymnasiums in 1909, according to which the disciplines of the natural-mathematical cycle were synchronized with the requirements of universities. The article's main thesis is that during the 1849-1914 years, the Tsissar-Royal Academic Gymnasium in Lviv developed into a leading secondary educational institution. Mostly Ukrainian Greek Catholics, natives from Halychyna, studied here. The headmasters of the gymnasium were experienced teachers, skilled administrators. During the second half of the 19th century - at the beginning of the 20th century, the gymnasium was headed by Franz Brugger (1848-1858), Ivan Piontkovskyi (1858-1868), Vasyl Ilnytskyi (1868-1892 ), Edvard Kharkevych (1892-1911) and Illia Kokorudz (1911-1927). The teaching staff was increasing quantitatively and qualitatively. Careful selection, education requirements, and teaching methods provided the gymnasium with qualified specialists and responsible officials. The institution's educational process was provided by about 23-25 teachers, 70% of whom were gymnasium professors. Teachers of gymnasium conducted classes on a high professional level with students and created original textbooks in their native language, literature, history, and geography. Many teachers of the gymnasium and later graduates became well-known socio-political figures, scientists, and artists. So, Academic Gymnasium in Lviv is a secondary educational institution of the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries. It functioned following Austrian secondary school legislation. The Academic Gymnasium, being in the structure of the Lviv University, provided it with well-prepared entrants. Students received a profound knowledge of normative disciplines in the gymnasium and a good national and religious education. The heads of the educational institution were experienced teachers and organizers who took care of the proper provision of the educational institution with teaching staff. The educational and methodological literature was supported, developed, and implemented in the educational process, together with teachers and public figures. Teachers of the gymnasium constantly worked on self-education and were active socio-political leaders. Abstract:
Modern-day clothing is an all-encompassing marker of social identities. We deepen the usual political economic and socio-demographic analysis of Ukrainian society with a cultural one, which acquires a significant mobilizing resource. The source base of the study is the materials of clerical correspondence of the trustee of Kyiv educational district with the heads of women’s educational institutions and the Heads of the Pedagogical Councils of the female gymnasiums and pro-gymnasiums of the Ministry of National Education regarding the introduction of uniforms for women who worked in women’s secondary education institutions. The hermeneutic method and the constructivist tradition of discourse analysis, as well as the latest approaches of Western feminist theory, were identified as research methods for the implementation of research tasks. Gender-specific experience should become an integral part of historical knowledge. The opinions of heads of women’s educational institutions of the Kyiv educational district regarding the introduction of uniforms for their female employees were studied. It was established that the absolute majority (95.65 %) of managers supported the proposal, as well as the fact of wearing uniforms by staff in some female gymnasiums without sanction from above. Self-affirmation of female teachers in the service took place through fashionable clothes, which contrasted with their small salary. Self-affirmation of female teachers in the service took place through fashionable clothes, which contrasted with their small salary. The latent dissatisfaction of the bosses with the fashion of female educators in institutions was revealed. It is substantiated that the “highly desirable / useful” introduction of uniforms to female educators was caused by individual and group level factors. The socio-economic and corporate-ethical motives of the chiefs prove the difficult gender relations in the teaching teams, which the uniform of female employees of gymnasiums and pro-gymnasiums had to correct. The recommended uniforms of female educators provided for the functional parameters of its cut, the minimization of decorative details and, most importantly, the dark blue color of the fabric.

Abstract:
This contribution focuses on an important chapter in the history of education that has not yet been investigated, that is the methods of inspections in government gymnasiums and lyceums in the first thirty years after the Unification of Italy. Starting from the legal framework and on the basis of archival documentation, the historical passages of a system centered on university professors are reconstructed. Between 1863 and 1889, they were called upon by the ministry as government inspectors to visit gymnasiums and lyceums to assess first and foremost the teaching activity of the teaching staff.

Abstract:
With people's attention to and participation in sports, large-scale and comprehensive gymnasiums have sprung up nationwide. Unlike previous small gymnasiums, large modern gymnasiums have more robust functions, more intelligent control, and humanization. However, some shortcomings remain, such as too centralized control and inflexible control. Therefore, intelligent control and energy saving of lighting will become the development direction of lighting systems. To ensure the normal progress of sports events and the quality of TV broadcast, the requirements of gym lighting are increasingly stringent, so the lighting control system of gyms has higher requirements accordingly. To solve these problems, this paper designs a gym intelligent control lighting system based on LED bus, which can adapt to the corresponding lighting scenes of different venues. The experimental results show that the intelligent lighting control system designed in this paper can run normally and stably, and can complete the detection of crucial working parameters. This system can automatically control the light and dark and switch off according to the indoor lighting brightness, achieving a sound energy saving effect, improving the lighting environment, and achieving the desired goal.
