Abstract:
We study the lepton flavor violating [Formula: see text] and the lepton flavor conserving [Formula: see text] decays in the framework of the general two-Higgs doublet model, the so-called model III. We estimate the decay width of LFV (LFC) process at the order of magnitude of 10-5 GeV (10-4 GeV), for mH0 = 150 GeV , and the intermediate values of the coupling [Formula: see text]. The experimental result of the process under consideration can ensure comprehensive information about the standard model Higgs boson H0 and the model III free parameters.

Many measurements in cosmology depend on the use of integrated distances or time, but. galaxies evolving passively on a timescale much longer than their age difference allow us to determine the expansion rate H(z) solely as a function of the redshift-time derivative dz/dt. These model-independent "cosmic chronometers" can therefore be powerful discriminators for testing different cosmologies. In previous applications, the available sources strongly disfavored models (such as Lambda CDM) predicting a variable acceleration, preferring instead a steady expansion rate over the redshift range 0 les

Low molecular weight (LMW) heparin has been proven effectively and safely at low doses with one injection per day in the postoperative medicine. This hasnot been confirmed so far in general medical patients requiring prophylaxis of thromboembolism. We report here of the results of a double blinded prospective randomized trial with normal and LMW heparin. Two hundred patients were included into the study after having given informed consent. They received 3 × 5.000 units sodium pig intestinal mucosa heparin (MW12.000) or 1 × 1.500 aPTT units (MW 3.800, Sandoz AG, Niimberg, FRG) for 10 days. The d

Abstract Preliminary results are given on a new class of nonlinear oscillator equations that generalize those of the usual linear harmonic case. These equations take the form ẋ = f(x)y and ẏ = −g(y)x, where f(x) and g(y) are continuous with first derivatives, and f(0) > 0, g(0) > 0. Of interest is the fact that these equations have a first-integral, i.e., there exists a function H(x,y) such that along a particular trajectory in the (x,y) phase space, H(x,y) = constant. We work out several general results related to this system of equations and illustrate them with several special

In the present study, water-oil flow patterns and slug hydrodynamics were experimentally studied in square glass microchannels with various hydraulic diameters (Dh = 600 μm, 400 μm, 200 μm). The aqueous phase is the continuous phase while the organic phase is the dispersed phase. The ranges of flow rates of the continuous phase and the dispersed phase are 0–200 ml/h and 0–12 ml/h, 0–120 ml/h and 0–6 ml/h, and 0–60 ml/h and 0–2 ml/h in the microchannels with Dh = 600 μm, 400 μm and 200 μm, respectively. The results show that the hydraulic diameter has significant effects on flow patterns and th

The characteristics of an open channel turbulent flow over a forward facing step (FFS) are investigated in the present study. Two step heights, h = 6 and 9 mm, at Reynolds number, Reh, (based on the approach freestream velocity, U0, and step height, h) of 1900 and 2800 respectively were studied. Particle image velocimetry technique (PIV) was used to obtain detailed velocity measurements upstream of the FFS, in the reattachment region (x/h = 0, 1, 2) and in the redevelopment region (x/h = 4, 10, 15 and 50). The boundary layer integral parameters, mean velocity profiles and Reynolds stresses obt

The simplest experimental approach for a theoretical description of platelet aggregation is based on kinetics of early multiplet formation (‹4 platelets per aggregate)occurring with diffusion-dependent particle collisions (no flow). The Smoluchowski theory was used to calculate collision efficiencies, αβ, from a linear plot of platelet particle count (Nt)−1 vs time (t) following addition of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to citrated platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) for 7 human (H) and 2 rabbit (R) donors. A 0.1 ml sample of PRP was stirred with ADP for 0.5s, then immediately transferred to a 37°C bath

This report maps the African landscape of Open Science – with a focus on Open Data as a sub-set of Open Science. Data to inform the landscape study were collected through a variety of methods, including surveys, desk research, engagement with a community of practice, networking with stakeholders, participation in conferences, case study presentations, and workshops hosted. Although the majority of African countries (35 of 54) demonstrates commitment to science through its investment in research and development (R&D), academies of science, ministries of science and technology, policies, rec
