Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (CO2RR) is a promising route to address the excessive emission of CO2 and the depletion of fossil fuels.[1] Metallic Cu and Cu-based materials have attracted increased attention, as Cu is the only metal that can reliably convert CO2 into hydrocarbons and oxygenates, such as ethanol, ethylene, and n-propanol.[2] To optimize CO2-to-C2+ conversion, considerable efforts were made to modify the catalyst composition and structure, adjusting the electrolyte, and optimizing the electrochemical setup.[3] In this context, molecular catalysts (i.e. transition meta

Water splitting is a very hot research topic as a preferred source for green hydrogen, as a key vector to facilitate a transition into an environmentally friendly and sustainable energy economy in the mid-term. But it is still far from being economically competitive with respect to current hydrogen production technologies based on fossil fuels. One of the major economic hurdles to reduce electrolysis costs is the lack of low-cost catalysts for hydrogen evolution and, more importantly, for oxygen evolution. The water oxidation process is considered the main bottleneck in the advancement of wate

The growing demand of batteries for electric mobility enhances the overall environmental impact of battery production. Among the different cathode cell chemistries, the Ni-rich layered oxide LiNi x Co y Mn z O2 (NCM)-based cathode active material (CAM) is regarded to have the lowest global warming potential of around 75.5 kg CO2-Eq/kWh1, whereas ≈25 % is attributed to cell manufacturing. Around 1930 the impulses previously at work among an elite of educators and publicists broadened out to energize American Catholics more generally, especially young people, and the Catholic Revival became a full-fledged movement. It was self-consciously countercultural in the sense that it proclaimed and attempted to actualize the ideal of a Catholic culture set over against and in opposition to modern culture. Since it was so distinctly an intellectual movement, institutions of higher education were of course integrally involved. On the one hand, the revival shaped the mentality that dominate

Societies have faced steadily growing challenges in recent decades. Global climate change, demographic shifts and geopolitical conflicts are constantly creating new framework conditions for companies and organisations that need to be mastered (Faix et al, 2021). In order to be able to operate successfully in the long term, companies and organisations need specialists with meta-skills to recognise, initiate and success-fully implement the necessary transformation processes in social systems (Bergmann, 2016). Furthermore, the social impact means that students are increasingly demand-ing their ri

The widespread approach for Multi-Disciplinary Optimization (MDO) problems adopted in the Space industry generally follows a sequential logic by neglecting the interconnection among different disciplines. However, since the optimization objectives in the different fields are often conflicting, this methodology can fail to find global optimal solutions. By restricting the analysis to just structure and control fields, the common hierarchy is to preliminary define the structure by optimizing the physical design parameters and then leave the floor to the control optimization. F-class gas turbines comprise a major part of the heavy-duty gas turbine power generation fleet worldwide, despite increasing penetration of H/J class turbines. F-class gas turbines see a wide range of applications, including simple cycle peaking operation, base load combined cycle, demand following in simple or combined cycle, and cogeneration. Because of the different applications, local power market dynamics, and varied emissions regulations by region or jurisdiction, there is a need for operational flexibility of the gas turbine and the combustion system. In 2015, GE introduced a DLN2.6+ c

Non-linear fracture mechanics equations for through-wall cracks in a pipe are used to analyze piping systems for either critical flaw size or critical loading conditions as part of probabilistic Leak-Before-Break (LBB) failure analyses under the eXtremely Low Probability of Rupture (xLPR) program co-sponsored by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC) and the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The xLPR analysis techniques use a large number of independent analysis solutions to determine an overall assessment of system failure probability. As part of the assessment, each independ

In recent years, Europe has been moving towards a concept of inclusivity as highlighted by the sixteenth goal of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals Agenda that promotes peaceful and inclusive societies. (UN Dept. of Global Communications, 2015). The increasing awareness of social diversity has attracted the attention of designers who started to adopt an inclusive design approach and design products or services to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, without the need for specialised adaptions. The inclusive design approach has been largely applied in adaptive sports to improv

ABSTRACT: Density difference between fluids always exists in cementation, gravity generated stress caused the horizontal well cementation displacement process more complex. In this paper, we investigated the influence of fluid viscosity on cementing, classified the displacement process and further illustrated long time cementing development by simulations. Based on relative value of viscosity, the displacing process are separated into two patterns, call P-1 and P-2. In P-1 pattern, the viscosity of displacing fluid is larger than that of displaced fluid. Interface of two fluids is a regular sl

This open file reports geochemical data for stream and groundwater samples collected around the Casino porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposit, one of the largest and highest-grade deposits of its kind in Canada. The calc-alkaline porphyry is hosted in a Late Cretaceous quartz monzonite and associated breccias in the unglaciated region of west central Yukon. Water chemistry around the deposit was investigated because: (i) the deposit has not yet been disturbed by mining; (ii) the deposit was known to have metal-rich waters in local streams; and (iii) the deposit has atypically preserved ore zones.
