In the statistical literature there are many test measures to study the independence of features in the two-way contingency tables. For statistical analysis, the family of six so-called ”chi-squared statistic” was selected — including Pearson’s X² statistics — and the proposal of the author in the form of modular statistics. In order to free themselves from the limitations of the applicability of the ”chi-squared statistic”, critical values for all analyzed statistics were determined by simulation Monte Carlo methods. ABSTRACT We examine different measures of asymmetry for galaxy H i velocity profiles. We introduce the channel-by-channel asymmetry and the velocity-of-equality statistics to quantify profile asymmetries. Using a sample of simulated galaxies, we examine how these and the standard lopsidedness morphometric statistic depend on a variety of observational effects, including the viewing angle and inclination. We find that our newly introduced channel-by-channel asymmetry is less sensitive to the effects of viewing angle and inclination than other morphometrics. Applying our statistics to the WHISP

The CP1 Hopf term responsible for exotic spin and statistics for the solitons in that model can be thought of as an abelian Chern Simons term due to the fact that CP1 is an example of G/H models (CP1=SU(2)/U(1)). This leads us to consider, for any G/H model, a non-abelian CS term (for the gauge group H). We analyze the consequences of such a term for the statistics of solitons in G/H models. With a suitable point particle limit of soliton configurations, we find that solitons obey anyon-like statistics.

The approach taken is informed by theories about the life-course, the stress process, the stress response and the inflammatory theory of depression. Immune dysregulation is measured by onsets of asthma and rheumatoid arthritis during adulthood. Comprehensive life-course data are used to provide valuable evidence about the epidemiology of each

Abstract:
A theory of the vibrational spectra of glasses, based on allowance for the statistical fluctuations of the local elastic constants, is proposed. The existence is established of two characteristic energies h, and h, , dividing the spectrum into regions of qualitatively different behavior of the density of states n (h). At low frequencices w 4 w, the increase of the density of states is determined by the additive contributions of phonons and mutually noninteracting quasilocal vibrations in random soft atomic potentials in the glass. In the intermediate region w , 5 w 5 w, the quasilocal vibratio

Abstract:
Over the years, public transit agencies have been trying to improve their operations by continuously evaluating best practices to better serve patrons. Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) oversees the transit bus operations in the Washington Metropolitan Area (District of Columbia, some parts of Maryland and Virginia). One practice attempted by WMATA to improve bus travel time and transit reliability has been the implementation of designated bus lanes (DBLs). The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) implemented a bus priority program on selected corridors in the Dist

Abstract:
Scenario-based testing is a pillar of assessing the effectiveness of automated driving systems (ADSs). For data-driven scenario-based testing, representative traffic scenarios need to describe real road traffic situations in compressed form and, as such, cover normal driving along with critical and accident situations originating from different data sources. Nevertheless, in the choice of data sources, a conflict often arises between sample quality and depth of information. Police accident data (PD) covering accident situations, for example, represent a full survey and thus have high sample qu
