Full textThe aim of this thesis is, in the first place, to study the evolution of the agro-industrial food consumption in france, brazil and, more specifically, sao paulo: specially from the nineteen-sixties on. Backed by the definitions of malassis (1973) and malassis and padilla (1986), we try to explore the main features of this model, as well as its differentiation factors, in a social economical context. The development process, based on economical growth, is believed to reinforce the differences in access to food products and also the lack of nutritional balance. The city of sao paulo has been chosen for it represents best the case of brazil. Representatives from industries, supermarkets, associations, public offices and about thirty other people representing the population with low or medium incomes have been interviewed in the attempt to figure the alimentary diversity in this city and also the characteristic features of this agro-industrial model
