Abstract:
The aim of this study was to analyze the movie "Hachiko: A Dog's Story" in terms of empathy and solidarity with animals. For this purpose, the scenes in the movie were interpreted on the basis of empathic reactions towards animals (cognitive and affective; self/other-oriented) and solidarity with animals (emotions and behaviors such as attachment, belonging, intimacy, and cooperation). The movie is about the attachment between a dog and a human, and it encourages the viewers to understand this attachment. In order for this to happen, audiences should be able to empathize with the protagonist o

In the present study, we aimed to evaluate 23 selected constituents of a four-leaf water clover (Marsilea species) as potent inhibitory agents of human acetyl cholinesterase (hAchE), carbonic anhydrase II (hCA-II), and protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (hPTP-1B) using an in silico method. The 23 selected constituents of the four-leaf water clover (Marsilea species) were studied on the docking behavior of hAchE, hCA-II, and hPTP-1B by using the Webina docking method. In addition to doc

Here the humanities are called upon to look into the underpinnings of the meanings assigned to digital space, in its conception and its technological praxis. This

A combination of flash chromatography, solid phase extraction, high-performance liquid chromatography, and in vitro bioassays was used to isolate phytocomponents endowed with anticholinesterase activity in extract from Phyllanthus muellarianus. Phytocomponents responsible for the anti-cholinesterase activity of subfractions PMF1 and PMF4 were identified and re-assayed to confirm their activity. Magnoflorine was identified as an active phytocomponent from PMF1 while nitidine was isolated from PMF4. Magnoflorine was shown to be a selective inhibitor of human butyrylcholinesterase—hBChE (IC50 = 1
