Master’s thesis deals with object pose estimation using monocular camera. As an object is considered every rigid, shape fixed entity with strong edges, ideally textureless. Object position in this work is represented by transformation matrix, which describes object translation and rotation towards world coordinate system. First chapter is dedicated to explanation of theory of geometric transformations and intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of camera. This chapter also describes detection algorithm Chamfer Matching, which is used in this work. Second chapter describes all development tools used in this work. Third, fourth and fifth chapter are dedicated to practical realization of this works goal and achieved results. Last chapter describes created application, that realizes known object pose estimation in scene.

Förslag till skolbyggnad, inom ramarna för Kulturskolan Stockholm. Platsen är Älvsjö, på en fastighet som idag hör till Stockholmsmässan. Centralt i projektet är vikten av kontakt mellan skolans och stadens rum samt möjligheten att, i och genom en byggnad, stärka det publika rummet i en växande del av staden. Genom sin placering och riktning upprättar skolan möjligheter för en ny publik park, på en idag dåligt utnyttjad del av fastigheten. De olika verksamheternas lokaler samlas i tre volymer kring ett inglasat atrium, vilket utgör både skolans centrala rum och koppling mellan skola och stad.<br>Proposal for a school building, within the framework of Kulturskolan Stockholm. The site is Älvsjö, on a property which today belongs to the Stockholm International Fairs. A central motif in the project is the importance given to the contact between the school and the space of the city as well as the possibility that, in and through a building, strengthen the public space in a growing part of the city. Through location and direction the building establishes opportunities for a new public park, on a poorly used part of the property. The rooms of different activities are spread out in three volumes around a glassed atrium, which constitutes both the central space of the building and the connection between the school and the city.

Jag har upplevt under mina tidigare verksamhetsförlagda utbildningsperioder (VFU) att hallen är ett rum på förskolan som inte används så aktivt, mer än till på- och avklädning. För att få en klar bild av användandet av hallen, gjorde jag en enkätundersökning med pedagoger på tre olika avdelningar. För att styrka pedagogernas tankar gjorde jag även observationer på en av förskolorna. Den insamlade empirin analyserades ur ett kvalitativt synsätt och resultatet presenterades ur ett fenomenologiskt perspektiv. Resultatet delades in i kapitel utifrån vad jag observerat och vad pedagogerna har svarat i enkäten. Kapitel jag lyft är ”pedagogens syn och pedagogiskt synsätt”, där jag presenterar pedagogerna svar från enkäten. Jag har även ett kapitel där avdelningarnas hallar beskrivs av pedagogerna. Jag har även fyra kapitel ifrån observationerna och ett där jag jämför det jag sett och det pedagogerna svarat. Studien kan användas av pedagoger ute i verksamheterna för att reflektera över sin egen miljö på förskolan och förhoppningsvis få nya tankar och idéer.

Från tidigare kurser i utbildningen och begränsad litteratur visste vi att det förekommer lite forskning om hallen som lärmiljö. Syftet med denna studie var att utifrån ett sociokulturellt perspektiv studera när pedagoger använder hallen och se vilka aspekter som påverkar hur pedagoger utnyttjar hallen i ett lärandesyfte. Med vårt examensarbete ville vi kunna bidra till nya tankar och idéer om hallens möjligheter och begränsningar.Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie och använt oss av kvalitativa metoder, som videoobservationer under av- och påklädning i hallen och intervjuformulär som pedagogerna svarade på. Relevanta begrepp och teorier från ett sociokulturellt lärande har använts för att analysera vårt resultat. Vår analys visade att lärandet i hallen förekom i samspelet mellan barn och pedagoger där dialogen fick en betydelsefull funktion. Dialogen påverkade hur hallens material användes i lärandesyfte, hur tiden utnyttjades samt hur samtalets längd och innehåll utvecklades för att bidra till barns lärande och utveckling. Våra slutsatser på vilka aspekter som påverkade pedagogers förhållningssätt i hallen är barns ålder, verksamhetens rutiner, hallens material och samspel mellan barn och pedagoger.

Studien utgår från ett projekt som initierats av en förskola där vi som examensarbetesskribenter har haft som uppgift att titta på pedagogernas roll ur ett utomstående perspektiv. Det relationella perspektivet har fått en betydande roll genom hela studien då just mötet mellan pedagog och barn varit i fokus. Syftet med studien är att iaktta pedagogernas bemötande av barnen i hallen ur ett jämlikhetsperspektiv. Första mötet i hallen på morgonen kan ha en varierande betydelse för varje individ. För vissa barn betyder det att man får springa in och leka med kompisar och för andra är det en ledsam stund där man måste lämna sina vårdnadshavare. Därför är hallen intressant att undersöka närmre för att få inblick i hur pedagogerna arbetar när de möter barnen i hallen på morgonen. Studien baseras på semistrukturerade observationer där ett observationsschema följts. Reflekterande samtal har därefter förts med pedagogerna på avdelningen med utgångspunkt i den insamlade empirin från observationerna. Empirin har varit ett verktyg för pedagogerna att bli självmedvetna och uppmuntra till självreflektion kring sin progression. Resultatet visar att pedagogerna ger barn den tid som behövs för en god lämning samt ett bemötande som är anpassat efter varje enskild individ. Detta kan tolkas som att pedagogerna utgår från ett jämlikhetsperspektiv i mötet med barn i hallen.

The aim of this diploma´s thesis is to design steel-concrete structure of the office building and steel structure of production hall situated in Moravské Budějovice. The dimensions of the office building are 48,0 x 60,0 meters and height is 17,0 meters. The main constructional material is S 255 steel and C30/37 concrete. The load bearing structure of the hall consists of the columns, primary and secondary beams. The axial distance of columns is 6 meters (5 meters). The dimensions of the production hall are 24,0 x 60,0 meters and height is 12,0 meters. Inside the production hall is craneway. An analysis of two solutions of the supporting structure was performed. The first variant is consists of rigid frames. Truss girder in the second variant is an alternative solution. Both variants were compared and the amount of steel was found. The selected option was developed in greater details with static calculation, drawings and material report. The static analysis of the main load bearing parts of the structure is processed. The calcuation were made in accordance with the European design codes.

The theme of the bachelor thesis is a new building of an administrative building with a storage hall, which will primarily serve for storage in the village of Troubsko. This work is aimed at elaborating project documentation for construction work. The building is non-basement with three above-ground floors. The construction is designed from the Porotherm system with prefabricated ceilings made of prestressed Spiroll panels. The storage hall will be made of a steel skeleton, single-skinned with sandwich panels. The roof is on the top of 2.NP flat single-layer with top layer on parts of concrete pavement on rectifiable targets and vegetation parts. Above the 3rd floor there is a flat single-layer roof with a top vegetation layer and above the storage hall there will be a flat roof with a classical layout of layers with a top layer of PVC foil. The object is functionally divided into 2 parts. The administrative part is primarily used as a base for employees of the production hall in the 1st floor, in the 2nd floor and 3rd floor there are offices. The storage hall will then serve mainly for storage purposes and dispatch preparation.

Sammanfattning Syftet med denna studie är att studera vilka färdigheter och förmågor barn får möjlighet att utveckla vid av- och påklädning i förskolans hall samt att undersöka förskollärares uppfattningar kring lärande i hallen. Detta i syfte att vidga våra perspektiv i ämnet och titta närmare på hur hallen används som ett pedagogiskt utrymme. Utifrån våra frågeställningar undersöktes detta med hjälp av intervjuer med förskollärare samt observationer av barn och pedagoger. Resultatet visar att barnen får möjlighet att utveckla en rad olika färdigheter vid av- och påklädning, med hjälp av medvetna och aktiva pedagoger. Pedagogens roll och förhållningssätt i dessa situationer blir mycket viktiga. Även de medierande redskapen vars karaktär kan vara språkliga, materiella eller intellektuella blir viktiga för att möjliggöra ett lärande. Förskollärarna var medvetna om hallens möjligheter och de gav en bild av en förändrad syn där man börjat ta tillvara på dessa möjligheter. Språk och kommunikation beskrivs som två av grundstenarna till att ett lärande ska kunna ske och även att pedagogerna ger barnen möjlighet att få utvecklas. Tidsbrist och stress beskrivs dock som hinder i arbetet med att främja barns lärande och utveckling.

The outer halos of galaxies are known to store vital information about the formation history and merger-induced evolution of their central galaxies, since the relaxation timescales are much larger than in the innermost parts and thus the memory of the events is conserved over a long period. This information provides fundamental insights into the processes of mass growth and morphological changes, broadening our understanding of the different mechanisms of structure formation. Additionally, the radius regime where the stellar component starts to dominate over the dark matter component is the perfect place to study the interplay between dark matter and stars. This interaction between the collisionless components of a galaxy, although much slower than the gas-induced processes, significantly alters the appearance of a galaxy in the long term. A better understanding of those processes can help to shed light on the dark sides of the galaxies.
In this work, we use the combined strength of idealized high-resolution simulations of individual galaxies and large cosmological simulations to unveil some of the information encoded in the outer halos of galaxies. The high resolution simulations allow us to disentangle the impact of selected physics on the formation and evolution of galaxies in particular, while the large cosmological simulations provide a statistically meaningful sample of galaxies covering a large range in masses and environments. The first part of this thesis focuses on the interplay between dark matter and stars, revealing that both parts actually do interact through their common potential by re-ordering into a stable state where the total halo is isothermal and its density distribution follows a $\rho \propto r^{-2}$ profile. The gas, which dissipates energy and sinks towards the center on much shorter timescales, disturbs this process, forcing the total halo into a more compact state with approximately $\rho \propto r^{-3}$. Therefore, as long as gas is present, the collisionless attractor state can not be reached, but every dry merger evolves the system towards it. This is also apparent by the fact that more evolved halos have higher central dark matter fractions and smaller amounts of stars formed in situ, and that the slopes are generally steeper at high redshifts. We conclude that the equilibrium attractor state of dry merging systems provides a new test case for $\Lambda$CDM and prove that, if $\Lambda$CDM is correct, the dark matter and the stars do communicate through their common gravitational potential.
The second part of this thesis deals with the information provided by the stellar halo. We show that the radial density profiles of all stellar halos have a universal shape which can be described by a curved exponential, independent of the morphology of their central galaxy. The strength of the curvature appears to be an indication for the amount of merging a galaxy suffered, since the stellar halo mostly grows through merging as the cold gas density in the halo region is much too low to cause a significant amount of star formation at all redshifts. With such a universal shape at hand, it is possible to study the deviations from this shape to learn about the details of the stellar accretion history of a galaxy, since different types of events leave distinct signatures. We suggest that more emphasis on the understanding of those different signatures is needed in the future to fully exploit the rich information contained in the outer halos, to learn more about the accretion driven but also the secular evolution of galaxies.<br>Es ist bekannt, dass die äußeren Halos der Galaxien wichtige Informationen über die Entstehungsgeschichte und die durch Verschmelzungen von Strukturen verursachten Entwicklungen der zentralen Galaxien speichern, da die Relaxationszeiten in den Außenbereichen wesentlich länger sind als im Zentralbereich. Daher bleibt die Erinnerung an diese Ereignisse dort wesentlich länger erhalten. Die Verschmelzungsgeschichte gibt Einsicht in die fundamentalen Prozesse, die zum Wachstum der Galaxien und zur Veränderung ihrer Morphologien beitragen. Die Entschlüsselung dieser Information wird massiv dazu beitragen, unser Verständnis der verschiedenen Mechanismen der Strukturentwicklung zu erweitern. Des Weiteren gewinnt in diesem Bereich der Galaxien die Dunkle Materie im Vergleich zu den Sternen an Dominanz, wodurch diese Region perfekt geeignet ist, um das Zusammenspiel der Sterne mit der Dunklen Materie zu untersuchen. Diese dynamische Interaktion der kollisionsfreien Komponenten der Galaxien kann das Erscheinungsbild einer Galaxie signifikant prägen, wenn auch über deutlich längere Zeiträume hinweg als gasbedingte Prozesse. Ein besseres Verständnis dieser dynamischen Prozesse kann maßgeblich dazu beitragen, Licht in die dunklen Bereiche der Galaxien und ihrer Entstehung zu bringen.
In dieser Dissertation nutzen wir die kombinierte Stärke idealisierter, hochaufgelöster Simulationen individueller Galaxien und großer kosmologischer Simulationen, um einige der Informationen zu entschlüsseln, die in den äußeren Halos der Galaxien verborgen sind. Mittels der hochaufgelösten Simulationen kann der Einfluss einzelner physikalischer Prozesse auf die dynamischen Strukturen der Galaxien im Detail untersucht werden, während die großen kosmologischen Simulationen ein statisch relevantes Sample an Galaxien verschiedenster Massen in unterschiedlichen Umgebungen bereitstellen.
Der Fokus des ersten Teils der Dissertation liegt auf der Untersuchung des Zusammenspiels von Dunkler Materie und stellarer Komponente im Falle sphärischer Galaxien wie beispielsweise Ellipsen. Wir zeigen, dass diese Interaktion mittels des gemeinsamen Potentials stattfindet und die Komponenten sich so anordnen, dass ihr Gesamtprofil isotherm ist und die Gesamtdichteverteilung einem Potenzprofil der Form $\rho \propto r^{-2}$ entspricht. Dieser Zustand, wenn er erreicht ist, erweist sich als ausgesprochen stabil. Das Gas, das auf deutlich kürzeren Zeitskalen interagiert und seine Energien mittels Dissipation umverteilen kann, stört diesen Prozess und verursacht eine deutliche Komprimierung der Gesamtdichteverteilung, die dadurch eher einem Potenzprofil der Form $\rho \propto r^{-3}$ entspricht. Solange das Gas innerhalb der Galaxie Sterne bilden kann, wird der dynamische Gleichgewichtszustand zwischen den stoßfreien Komponenten nicht erreicht, jedoch sorgt jedes gasarme Akkretionsereignis für einen Schub in diese Richtung. Dies wird auch durch die Tatsache verdeutlicht, dass dynamisch weiter entwickelte Systeme einen größeren Anteil an Dunkler Materie im Zentrum besitzen und der Anteil der Sterne, die innerhalb der Galaxie selbst geboren wurden, kleiner ist. Generell sehen wir, dass die Gesamtdichteverteilung der sphärischen Galaxien bei höheren Rotverschiebungen komprimierter ist. Zusammenfassend schlußfolgern wir, dass der Gleichgewichtszustand, den kollisionsfreie Systeme anstreben, einen hervorragenden Testfall bietet, um einen Eckpfeiler der modernen Kosmologie -- die Existenz Dunkler Materie -- zu überprüfen, da nur in einem solchen Falle die Dunkle Materie und die Sterne auf eine Art miteinander interagieren, dass sich ein Dichteprofil obengenannter Form ausbildet.
Im zweiten Teil dieser Dissertation analysieren wir Informationen, die in den stellaren Halos der Galaxien verschlüsselt sind. Wir zeigen, dass das Dichteprofil aller stellarer Halos von ähnlicher Form ist und sich durch ein gekrümmtes Exponentialgesetz beschreiben lässt. Diese universelle Form ist dabei unabhängig von der Morphologie der Galaxie im Zentrum. Der Krümmungsgrad kann als Indiz dafür gewertet werden, wie viele (kleinere) Strukturen die Galaxie bereits verschlungen hat, da der stellare Halo im Wesentlichen durch Akkretion kleinerer Strukturen wächst. Dies liegt darin begründet, dass die Gasdichte in den äußeren Bereichen der Galaxien dauerhaft zu niedrig ist, um einen signifikanten Anteil an Sternen zu erzeugen. Mittels eines derartigen universalen Dichteprofils ist es nunmehr möglich, die Abweichungen von diesem Profil zu bestimmen und daraus Details der Akkretionsgeschichte individueller Galaxien zu rekonstruieren, da die unterschiedlichen Akkretionsprozesse (wie zum Beispiel der Einfall kleiner oder großer (Zwerg-)Galaxien oder das Akkretieren einzelner Sterne von vorbeifliegenden Strukturen) unterschiedliche Signaturen im Halo hinterlassen. Daher schlagen wir vor, dem detailierten Verständnis der Signaturen der einzelnen Akkretionsprozesse in der Zukunft eine größere Bedeutung zukommen zu lassen, um die ergiebigen Informationen, die in den stellaren Halos enthalten sind, auswerten zu können, wodurch ein deutlicher Fortschritt im Verständnis sowohl der akkretionsgetriebenen als auch der sekularen Entwicklung von Galaxien erreicht würde.

We have used high resolution N-body simulations to investigate the internal properties of Cold Dark Matter (CDM) halos with virial masses of M(_200) ~ 10(^10) M(_o) at z = 0, comparable to those of dwarf galaxy halos, forming in the ACDM cosmology. In particular, we have focused on providing accurate constraints on the mass distribution in these objects at ~ 1% of the virial radius, r(_200)-. After a brief introduction (chapter 1), the first part of this thesis is concerned with establishing the conditions under which the distribution of mass in simulated CDM halos is unaffected by finite numerical resolution. In chapter 2, we present results from a comprehensive set of simulations of a single galaxy mass halo in which numerical parameters have been varied systematically in order to determine their impact on the spherically averaged mass profile. Based on these results, we have defined a set of convergence criteria that allow us to identify the radial extent over which the spherically averaged circular velocity profile can be considered reliably resolved to better than 10%. In chapter 3, we have examined the abundance of substructure found in three sets of "converged" simulations, and quantified the effect of increasing mass resolution on the number of resolved subhalos of a given mass. The second part of this thesis is concerned with the detailed analysis of the internal structure and kinematics of the simulated dwarf galaxy halos in our sample. In chapter 4, we analyse the structure and kinematics of the dwarfs for possible redshift dependence, and investigate whether these halos could sustain a gaseous disk. In chapter 5, we concentrate on mass dependent trends by performing a detailed comparison with galaxy and cluster mass halos. Finally, chapter 6 provides a summary of the main findings of this work and highlights aspects that may prove rewarding for further study.

Es werden Prozesse der Verwitterung und des Stoffaustrages aus Halden des Kupferschieferbergbaus untersucht. An zwei Halden unterschiedlichen Typs und Alters wurden mineralogische und geochemische Untersuchungen durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse belegen eine geringe Mobilität der Schwermetalle in den älteren Armerzhalden. In den modernen Großhalden stellt die Salinität ein mobilisierendes Moment für die Metalle dar. Aus den erhobenen standort- und stoffspezifischen Daten wurden unter Einbeziehung des Ionenwechselwirkungsansatzes nach PITZER geochemische Modellvorstellungen entwickelt, die eine adäquate Beschreibung der Lösungs- und Mischungsprozesse in der Halde sowie eine Prognose der künftigen Sickerwasserqualität erlauben. Die Ergebnisse werden im Hinblick auf die Umweltrelevanz und Möglichkeiten des weiteren Umgangs mit den Halden diskutiert.

Lain mukaan kaikki lapset, joilla on suomenkielinen tausta ja perustavat taidot suomen kielessä, ovat oikeutettuja suomenkielen opetukseen.</p><p>Tämä opinnäytetyö on pieni muotoinen kvalitatiivinen kartoitus Ruotsin peruskoulun suomen kielen opetuksesta. Teoria perustuu Ruotsin lakiin ja Ruotsin suomen kielen opetushistoriaan. Empiirinen osuus koostuu suomen kielen opettajien ja suomea opiskelevien oppilaiden haastatteluista sekä ruotsinsuomalaisen vapaakoulun rehtorin ja suomalaistaustaisen vanhemman kanssa käymistäni keskusteluista. Olen myös kysynyt usealta kunnalta suomen kielen opetuksen järjestelyistä ja sen toteuttamisesta.</p><p>Työn tavoitteena on kartoittaa suomen kielen opetuksen tämänhetkinen tilanne Ruotsin peruskoulussa. Eräs tutkimustulokseni osoittaa, että kunta ei tiedota tarpeeksi suomen kielen opetuksesta. Olen saanut myös selville, että pätevistä suomen kielenopettajista on pulaa Ruotsissa. Lisäksi olen todennut, että suomen kielen oppituntien pituus ei joissakin kunnissa yllä edes yhteen tuntiin. Kiertävien suomen opettajien työolot ovat stressaavia ja työpäivät koostuvat lähes pelkästään opetustunneista.</p><p>Kaikesta tästä olen tehnyt johtopäätöksen: suomen kielen opetuksen tilaa on parannettava laadukkailla opetustunneilla ja pätevillä opettajilla, joilla on hyväksyttävät työolot. Lisäksi opetuksen määrää täytyisi lisätä.</p><br><p>Finska är ett av Sveriges nationella minoritetsspråk. Enligt svensk lag har barn som har finsk bakgrund och grundläggande kunskaper i finska språket rätt till att få undervisning i finska.</p><p>I detta examensarbete presenterar jag en kort kvalitativ kartläggning av undervisningen i finska i den svenska grundskolan. Teoridelen bygger på förordningstexter och andra styrdokument samt litteratur om den historiska bakgrunden till dagens finskundervising i Sverige. Den empiriska informationen består av intervjuer av finska lärare och elever som läser finska samt diskussioner med en rektor i en sverigefinsk friskola och en förälder till ett barn som har ansökt om finskundervisning. Jag har även frågat flera kommuner om deras sätt att organisera och genomföra finskundervisning.</p><p>Syftet med detta examensarbete är att kartlägga finska språkets situation i dagens svenska grundskola. Ett av mina resultat är att kommunen inte informerar tillräckligt om finskundervisningen. Jag har också fått reda på att det råder brist på behöriga finska lärare i Sverige. Jag har även kommit fram till att finska lektioner i vissa kommuner är kortare än en timma. Ambulerande lärarna har stressiga arbetsförhållanden och arbetsdagarna består nästan endast av undervisningstillfällen.</p><p>Med hjälp av allt detta har jag kommit fram till följande slutsats: man måste förbättra villkoren för finskundervisningen med hjälp av högkvalitativ undervisning och behöriga lärare, som arbetar under acceptabla arbetsförhållanden. Dessutom bör undervisningstiden utökas.</p><br><p>Finnish is one of the Swedish minority languages. According to Swedish law children who have a Finnish background and basic knowledge of the Finnish language have a right to Finnish education.</p><p>In this Degree Project I present a short qualitative survey of the field of teaching of Finnish in Swedish primary schools. The theoretical frame work is based on Swedish law and the literature on the history of Finnish teaching in Sweden. The empirical data consist of interviews with Finnish teachers and their pupils and some discussions with a principal of the Sweden Finnish independent school and a parent for a child who had applied for Finnish education. In addition, several municipalities were surveyed about their plans forteaching Finnish.</p><p>The purpose of this study is to document the situation of the Finnish language in Swedish primary schools today. One of my findings is that municipalities do not provide adequate information about teaching in Finnish. A further finding is that there is a shortage of competent Finnish teachers in Sweden. I have also established that in some Swedish states schools the Finnish lessons are not even an hour long. The travelling teachers have stressful circumstances at work and workdays consist almost only of lessons.</p><p>From this my conclusion is that we have to improve conditions for Finnish language teaching with high qualitative teaching and with competent teachers who have acceptable working conditions. Furthermore teaching time should be increased.</p>

Uppsatsen har två syften där det ena är att undersöka fördelning av jord i Väse härad under början av 1700-talet samt hur handeln med jord såg ut med avseende på aktörerna. Det andra syftet är att studera jordtransaktioner i Väse härad för att se om det finns några tidiga tecken på den agrara revolutionen. Eftersom undersökningsperioden (1700–1749) ligger före det som kallas den agrara revolutionen undersöks tre faktorer. Befolkningsökningen var svagt stigande med en liten ökning i Väse socken omkring 1750. Den var för liten för att ha någon betydelse i sig själv men om den sätts i ett större sammanhang skulle den kunna ge en indikation att något var på väg att hända. Social skiktning är en annan faktor som brukas ta upp i samband med den agrara revolutionens inledning. Det innebär att ny grupp av storbönder började växa fram vilka gjorde fler köp av jord utanför den egna släkten. Det har till följd att en mängd bönder fick minskade jordareal medan andra fick större egendomar. En polarisering bland allmogens bönder tog fart. Kommersialisering är ett tredje mått som undersöks i samband med den agrara revolutionen. Den innebar att någon, en bonde, brukspatron eller annan person, köpte upp jord för att kunna öka sin produktion. Även om inga tydliga tecken på den agrara revolutionen syns är frågan om det man kan se beror på det eller är en följd av brukspatronernas aktiviteter.

Det här examensarbetet handlar om hur barnen på en specifik förskola utnyttjar hallen i den fria leken och på vilket sätt. Syftet är att undersöka vilka lekar som utspelar sig i hallen. Vi har använt oss av relevant forskning och litteratur för att få svar på våra frågeställningar, som är Hur uttnytjar barnen hallen i den fria leken? Och vilka lekar uppstår? I avsnittet om tidigare forskning presenteras forskning om förskolemiljö, lek och hallen. Till detta examensarbete har det gjorts en kvalitativ studie där observationer på en 3-5-årsavdelning står i fokus. Vi har valt att tolka observationerna ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv och vi går även in i Vygotskijs teori om fantasi och kreativitet. Analysen varvas av observationer, litteratur och Vygotskijs teorier. Det vi kommit fram till genom denna studie är att barnen verkar trivas i hallen och hallen stimulerar till fantasi och kreativitet. Våra tolkningar är att barnen ofta får vara i fred från pedagogers övervakande blickar och att det kan vara skönt att komma ifrån det som händer inne på avdelningen. Resultatet vi har kommit fram till är att det inte alltid är den mest pedagogiskt utformade miljön som fångar barnens intresse.

In this thesis we investigate a possible formation mechanism of non-linear structures, such as primordial black holes or similar screened objects, within a modified gravity framework. In particular, these structures can form during radiation era and provide the current dark matter component of the Universe. We refer to a model consisting of a long range attractive fifth-force stronger than gravity, mediated by a light scalar field $\phi$ - which could be in principle dynamical dark energy of Coupled Quintessence - interacting with a non-relativistic $\psi$-particle. The latter is coupled to radiation and matter species only via usual gravity.
By means of a dynamical system approach, we select the unique stable scaling solution of the phase space providing a radiation dominated era. Besides, after the introduction of the cosmological perturbation theory, we study the non-linear growth of the $\psi$ field density fluctuations in this epoch. The latter, being enhanced by the fifth interaction, in view of a field theory screening mechanisms that suppress the additional interaction, eventually collapse in stable and virialized structures, namely dark matter halos. We compare the theoretical predictions on the radius and the mass of the halos with experimental constraints on primordial black holes abundances, with an emphasis on their lensing signature in the solar mass window. In conclusion, we outline a viable scenario where the missing dark matter component of the universe might be completely supplied in form of dark halos.

The interactions scatter the material from the smaller galaxy into structures with distinctive dynamics and morphology, including high local densities and a simple density profile related to properties of the participating galaxies. The role of the larger galaxy's tides in creating these structures and their relation to a well-studied class of mathematical objects motivates us to name them "tidal caustics". We study the densities achievable in tidal caustics for a typical merger of this type using an example from the Andromeda galaxy to determine whether they are sufficient to produce a detectable gamma-ray signal from self-interactions in the dark matter component, for likely particle models of dark matter. We find that the expected signal is an order of magnitude too low to be detected with current instruments. We also study the constraints that can be placed on the properties of the participating galaxies by observing the surface brightness profiles of the tidal caustics. We find that the local gravity and gravity gradient of the larger galaxy, and the energy spread and initial phase space density of the smaller galaxy, can be jointly constrained by fitting this profile. The constraints are degenerate but model-independent. We find that measurements of multiple caustics and the velocity of the material in each caustic along the line of sight give information about the orbital angular momentum and the deviations from spherical symmetry in the larger galaxy, though this information is somewhat model-dependent. We discuss the main technical difficulty in fitting the surface brightness profile: determining the inclination angle of the caustic. Cerca de 25% do conteúdo energético do universo se encontra sob uma forma de natureza ainda não determinada e é conhecida pelo nome de matéria escura. Desde as primeiras especulações acerca de sua existência (Zwicky ~ 1933), vários modelos foram propostos na tentativa de justificar os dados observacionais encontrados mas, até hoje, nenhum deles foi capaz de cumprir essa tarefa a contento. Nesta dissertação, apresentaremos uma breve discussão desses modelos, além de propor um novo, baseado na idéia de que tanto a matéria escura quanto a energia escura possam ser compostas pelo campo escalar de Born-Infeld.<br>Nearly twenty five percent of the energetic content of the universe appears in a form that is still unknown and is named dark matter. Since the first speculations about its existence (Zwicky ~1933), many models have been proposed trying to justify all the observed data but, until now, none of them has been able to solve this problem. In this monography, we will present a brief discussion about these models and propose a new one, based on the idea that both dark matter and dark energy could be the Born Infeld scalar field.

<p>Hierarchical structure formation in the standard Λ+cold dark matter (CDM) model produces gravitationally bound clumpy halos with abundant substructure. These subhalos are the remnants of dark matter halos that have been accreted by their host halo over cosmic time, and have survived tidal destruction. Understanding halo substructure is extremely important, as subhalos are believed to host satellite galaxies, boost the dark matter annihilation signal, cause tidal heating of fragile structures such as stellar streams and disks, and are potentially responsible for interesting phenomena in gravitational lensing. Most importantly, the demographics of subhalos contain information of the Universe, thus providing a stringent testbed for the cosmological model.</p><p> This thesis provides a comprehensive study of dark matter subhalos, using a combination of cosmological <i>N</i>-body simulations and semi-analytic modeling. We start with developing a new, semi-analytic model describing halo assembly and subhalo evolution. The model combines Monte-Carlo techniques of generating halo merging histories and simple analytical descriptions for the evolution of subhalos, thus offering extremely fast computation, the agility to experiment with different cosmologies, and the control of specific physical processes. The model accurately predicts the distributions of subhalo mass and structural parameters in cosmological simulations, and outperforms simulations in terms of mass resolution and statistical power. Taking advantage of the speed and agility of the model, we present universal fitting formulae for subhalo mass and maximum circular velocity (<sup>&ngr;</sup>max) functions that are valid for a broad range in host halo mass, redshift and CDM cosmology. </p><p> The remainder of the dissertation makes use of the model, together with a number of state-of-the-art <i>N</i>-body simulations, to study the statistics of halo substructure. Recent high-resolution CDM simulations reveal ~10 massive Galactic subhalos whose central potential wells are too deep to be consistent with those of the ~10 brightest Milky-Way (MW) satellite galaxies. This inconsistency, dubbed the `too-big-to-fail' problem (TBTF), has become a persistent challenge to the standard ACDM cosmology. However, the number of well resolved Galactic halos in simulations is too small to fully capture the halo-to-halo variance in substructure content, which hinders the interpretation of the inconsistency. Unleashing the power of the semi-analytic model, we generate thousands of MW-size halos with well-resolved subhalo populations, and explicitly demonstrate that a reliable assessment of TBTF requires such large samples. We argue that existing statistics used to address TBTF suffer from the look-elsewhere effect and/or disregard certain aspects of the data on the MW satellite population. We devise a new statistic that is not hampered by these shortcomings, and, using data of the MW satellites with vmax > 15 km s<sup>-1</sup>, demonstrate that 1.4<sup>+3.3</sup>-1.1% of MW-size host halos have a subhalo population in statistical agreement with that of the MW. We also discuss how the severity of TBTF depends on halo mass and cosmology.</p><p> We conclude the thesis with a study of unprecedented statistical power regarding the halo-to-halo variance of substructure. First, we study the mass fraction (<i>f</i><sub>sub</sub>) in subhalos as a function of host halo mass, formation redshift, and halo-centric distance. We note that recent measurements of <i>f</i><sub>sub</sub> from gravitational lensing are much higher than the average but within the 90th percentile of the <i> f</i><sub>sub</sub> distribution. Second, we quantify the deviation of the occupation statistics of subhalos from Poissonian statistics, which is widely assumed in halo occupation distribution (HOD) models. In particular, we clearly reveal the sub-Poissonian statistics at [special characters omitted] ≤ 3, aside from the already-known super-Poissonity at [special characters omitted] » 1, with [special characters omitted] the average number of subhalos. we also quantify the effect of the sub-Poissonity on the galaxy clustering predictions from HOD models. We further show that the extent of nonPoissonity depends on subhalo selection and on halo formation time - selecting subhalos by their mass or vmax at accretion yields weaker super-Poissonity for large [special characters omitted] but stronger sub-Poissonity for small [special characters omitted], compared to selecting by their present-day mass or vmax; earlier-formed halos exhibit less non-Poissonity than later-formed ones. Finally, we use the occupation statistics of the most massive satellites of the MW to put constraint on the mass and formation redshift of the MW halo. In particular, the `<sup>&ngr;</sup><sub>max</sub> gap' of MW satellites between ~ 30 km s<sup>-1</sup> and 60 km s<sup>-1</sup> favors a low-mass, late-formed MW halo, with 0.25 < <i>M</i><sub>vir</sub>/10<sup>12</sup> <i> h</i><sup>-1</sup>M[special characters omitted] < 1.4 and 0.1 < <i>z</i><sub>f</sub> < 1.4 at 90% confidence.</p>

This thesis is concerned with the design, development and testing of helium mass
flowmeters based on different technologies to be used as diagnostic tools for the
cryogenic system of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, the European
laboratory for particle physics. The flowmeters were designed and the
performance assessed for liquid, supercritical and superfluid helium down to
1.8 K and with pressures up to 0.3 MPa.
A testing regime and equipment to enable the performance of a range of
developed flowmeters to be validated at working cryogenic temperatures and
pressures is described in the thesis. In particular a novel cryogenic flow test
facility with 1.5 % accuracy as well as an irradiation test station designed,
constructed and used as part of the evaluation work are described in the thesis.
The final validation with metrological certification down to 0.5 % accuracy was
performed in collaboration with the Colonnetti metrological laboratory in Italy.
Devices based on the thermal exchange and transport properties of the fluid were
developed and proven to be reliable and inexpensive but with accuracy poorer
than 10 %. As part of this work a new empirical heat transfer correlation for
supercritical helium in the piping geometry and operating conditions of the LHC
was established.
Industrially available Coriolis meters which had not been employed before at
such low temperatures were extensively investigated. It was found that with some
minor modifications in the electronics (drive system) and in the elasticity modulus
(Young’s modulus) value for the flow tubes material at low temperature, accuracy
down to 0.5 % could be achieved. Additional features in the mechanical and
electrical design were also introduced to improve robustness and reliability at cryogenic temperatures. They mainly consisted in purging the meters secondary
containment with helium to avoid gas freezing at low temperatures and increasing
the internal gauge wire to improve its fatigue strength. The elasticity modulus of
316 L stainless steel below 20 K was characterised and compared to available
literature data.
The successful Coriolis flowmeters were validated to meter the cryogenic power
distribution in the 27-km long superfluid helium system of the future collider and
are now extensively and successfully used in superconducting devices test
facilities at CERN and in companion laboratories.
