Abstract:
Currently the fatigue testing of bevel gears are being done by using non rotating type of fixtures that applies fatigue load on a single tooth, which does not resemble the actual loading condition in an automotive differential gear box. This paper discusses the experimental setup with the noise and vibration analysis approach to determine the signature of failures of spiral bevel gears. The proposed experimental setup seems promising for further research and development in the fatigue testing of spiral bevel gears. The Crown pinion and wheel assembly is used for the testing. Nonlinear differential equations for an electromechanical integrated magnetic gear (EIMG) system are developed by considering the nonlinearity in the magnetic force of the system components. Expressions for the main resonances and superharmonic resonances are obtained for output wave frequencies close to the natural frequency and half the natural frequency of the derived EIMG system. The response laws are discussed in detail. The magnetic coupling stiffness among the components is found to exhibit distinct nonlinearity, leading to strong main resonances and superharmonic resonances. Smaller va

The peculiarity of the technological equipment of light industry is the significant dynamic loads that occur during unstable operating modes and is one of the main reasons for reducing the reliability and durability of its operation. The problem of increasing the reliability and durability of their work by reducing the dynamic loads is relevant, because the known means of reducing the dynamic loads in the drive of machines can not always be used in light industry machines. Therefore, when designing light industry equipment, first of all, attention should be paid to reducing the dynamic loads i

Abstract:
Radial shaft sealing rings (RSSR) are important machine elements used in rotating and oil lubricated systems. Their main task is to prevent oil from exiting the system and dirt particles from entering the system. When this function is not fulfilled, a leakage can occur and cause excessive damage after certain operating times, such as gear failure due to insufficient lubrication. This is the reason for the high level of current research interest in seals. The sealing function of RSSR occurs in the contact area between the sealing lip and the shaft. The contact takes place over a very small cont

In the process of engineering use, the elastic coupling of the RT60 crane transmission system has a large noise and even breaks down sometimes. In this paper, RT60 crane transmission system is the research object. A finite element model and a discrete model for torsional vibration of transmission system are established by finite element method and lumped parameter method. Through the study of the finite element model and the vibration test of transmission system, the correctness of the system model, equivalent parameter, calculation method and MATLAB program are verified. Ball bearings are key components in the gear transmission system. Supported ball bearings have great influences on the vibrations of the gear transmission system, especially the presence of the local faults. Although some reported works formulated the local fault in the supported bearings of the gear transmission system, the box and shaft were considered as rigid bodies. To overcome this problem, a rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model for a flexible gearbox with the supported ball bearings is developed, which cannot be described by the previous multibody models. The recent development of semi-analytical methods (SAM) has led to numerous improvements in their capabilities in terms of phenomena that can be accounted for and numerical efficiency. They now allow to perform fast and robust simulations of contact between inelastic—with either elastic–plastic or viscoelastic behavior—and anisotropic or heterogeneous materials. All effects may be combined, with either coating, inclusions, cavities, or fibers as inhomogeneities. The coupling between local and global scales remains numerically difficult. In an associated work [9], a low-ratio Epicyclic drive is developed that resembles a Planetary drive but has crank-shaft pinions, an additional carrier replacing its ring gear, and half the reduction ratio of a similarly sized Planetary drive. Adding couplings that reverse the sun and planet engagement, further reduces the ratio below unity. Interchanging the roles of the input and output shafts results in high reduction ratios similar to a Cycloid drive. Like a Cycloid drive, it has co-axial drive shafts and a reduction ratio that depends on the difference between gear pitch diameters. Unlike
