Abstract:
Hand-to-hand combat based on a set of techniques is a universal mean of the system of professional activity of law enforcement officers and the Armed Forces, and is a separate sport. Techniques of hand-to-hand combat are performed against the opponent with weapons and without. In the conditions of the socio-political situation in Ukraine, the formation of hand-to-hand combat skills among the population requires special attention. The purpose of the study is to analyze the native and foreign experience of scientific research on hand-to-hand combat, with the aim of outlining promising directions for its development among other types of martial arts. Research methods: method of analysis of scientific and methodical literature, systematization, generalization. Research results. The modern scientific field of knowledge on the theoretical foundations of hand-to-hand combat separates several main directions, among which are the system of training employees of security forces to perform their professional duties, the system of training athletes in hand-to- hand combat as a sport, and fragmentary studies on the use of hand-to-hand combat tools in the system of physical education of the children of school age. The current state of theoretical studies of hand-to-hand combat for school-aged children encourages a more detailed study of it.

AbstractIntroduction. The aim of the study is to analyse existing tests for assessing agility in combat sports and martial arts, as well as to develop new tests and to test their effectiveness.Material and methods. The study involved 16 athletes at various competitive levels specialising in hand-to-hand combat. It used the following methods: review of specialised literature along with policy and normative documents, an expert survey, testing, instrumental methods of assessing psychophysical capabilities, a pedagogical experiment, and methods of mathematical statistics.Results. The article clearly delineates the concepts of “agility” and “coordination”. It was found that most of the exercise tests recommended for assessing agility actually only evaluate coordination, without taking into account unexpected and unpredictable situations, which are the key components of agility. While some tests allow for the assessment of agility, they are based on motor actions which are non-specific for combat sports. Moreover, the use of computer-based techniques for studying the visual-motor reaction has proven to be ineffective for assessing agility in sports.Conclusions. The article proposed three variants of specialised tests for assessing agility in motor actions specific for hand-to-hand combat. According to the results of all the three tests, the programme proposed for the development of agility and coordination caused a significant improvement in the level of agility in six months.

Abstract:
Given the current conditions, the involvement of servicemen of all levels in combat operations and the experience of performing military professional activities by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine once again confirms that the successful completion of a combat mission depends on the level of physical and psychological fitness of the personnel. The purpose of the study is to analyze the opinion of servicemen on the organization and conduct of hand-to-hand combat and psychological training and to determine the impact of indicators on the quality of assigned tasks. Material and Methods: To determine the effectiveness of the organization of psychological training and hand-tohand combat classes with the Armed Forces, to determine the effectiveness of the use of hand-to-hand combat means and the impact on the psychological readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the performance of military and professional activities, we organized and conducted a survey of military personnel of the formed groups. The study involved servicemen majoring in «Management of actions of mechanized troops» (n=87, II-IV year of study). The respondents were aged 18-25 years (middle age – 20.8±0.2). Results. It has been established that the current system of physical and psychological training of servicemen of mechanized units does not meet the peculiarities of military professional activity in the chosen specialty and requires new approaches and improvement, as well as the introduction and use of special exercises and training for actions in extreme conditions, readiness to perform combat missions. Conclusions. The survey and analysis of the results showed that 59.8 % of the respondents feel fear before performing training and combat tasks, 32.2 % of infantrymen perform professional tasks without feeling fear, 55.2 % of the personnel feel fear when performing and learning new techniques (actions), 34.5 % of the soldiers still have a feeling of using and performing hand-to-hand combat techniques, only 10.3 % of the servicemen confidently declare that they do not feel fear in the process of using hand-to-hand combat means and performing any techniques (actions).

Abstract:
The research objective is to study the current state of hand-to-hand combat and determine the prospects for its development.
Materials and methods. The researchers studied the documents on organizing and holding the competitions that took place in 2014-2016, the number and quality of their participants, coaches, hand-to-hand combat referees. The researchers analyzed training programs and competition rules of the most popular combat sports, constituent documents of public associations engaged in hand-to-hand combat development, normative documents on physical training of law enforcement agencies, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and armies of the world’s leading countries.
Results. Hand-to-hand combat is closely related to solving military tasks. Due to its ability to adapt to modern military requirements, it is included in military training programs of various law enforcement agencies, the Armed Forces of Ukraine and armies of many countries of the world. The sports type of hand-to-hand combat is the basis for shaping and improving professional and applied skills and has its peculiarities, namely combat (applied) sections included in its training program and competition rules. The analysis of regulatory documents of hand-to-hand combat competitions of different levels among adults held in Ukraine in 2014-2016 proved that the overwhelming majority of them, 65% (of the total number of competitions held among adults) are competitions among employees of various law enforcement agencies and servicepersons. The analysis of competition rules revealed the peculiarities of organizing and holding competitions in this sport, in particular the possibility to hold competitions demonstrating the techniques used in standard situations of a real combat with an enemy, with and without weapons. This provides an opportunity to control servicepersons’ and law enforcement officers’ proficiency level of the applied section.
Conclusions. The modern hand-to-hand combat is a unique sport that combines sports and applied types. Due to its peculiarities, it is currently a significant part of combat and professional training of servicepersons and law enforcement officers.

Abstract:
Hand-to-hand combat is a qualitatively new applied sport, which includes the most effective techniques of various types of martial arts and impoverishes sports and applied fields. Due to its characteristics, this sport is gaining popularity not only among military personnel, but also among the general population. A distinctive feature of hand-to-hand combat as a sport is the holding of competitions in various directions, one of which is the demonstration of applied equipment section. It is in this type of competition that athletes demonstrate the technique that is used in standard situations of a real battle model with an unarmed and armed opponent using special equipment and weapons. Due to its specifics, this is precisely the direction that remains insufficiently studied at this time, despite the fact that there is a large amount of specialized literature devoted to the subject of hand-to-hand combat. The modern method of teaching hand-to-hand combat is largely based on practical experience, and not on special scientific research. The purpose of the study was to analyze the section demonstrating the applied technique of hand-to-hand combat in the dynamics of competitions, to identify the features of the implementation of techniques, to outline ways to further improve the educational process. Material and methods. To achieve the goal of the work, we conducted an analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature and analysis of documentary and regulatory materials. To study the features of the demonstration section of applied equipment, we analyzed the video materials of the championship of Ukraine of one of the state power departments. We studied 183 standard situations – models of real combat with an unarmed and armed enemy using special equipment and weapons, which were performed by 43 athletes, 3 of them were MSIC, 9 MS, 21 CMS, from the 10th to the 1st dan. We also developed a Questionnaire, which was proposed to 14 hand-to-hand combat trainers. The questions of the questionnaire dealt with the features of the competition in hand-to-hand combat, the criteria and requirements for the implementation of applied equipment. Results and discussion. The data obtained as a result of the questioning let us determine the requirements for the use of competitive model situations, their phase structure, the peculiarities of liberation from grips and grips, the use of weapons and disarmament. The hand-to-hand combat is an applied sport that will be iced up in various directions. A distinctive feature of this sport is the use of an element of surprise, which greatly complicates the implementation of competitive exercises. To improve the preparation process, it is necessary to improve the technique of performing the initial phases of simulated competitive situations. Taking into account the peculiarity of hand-to-hand combat we must pay attention to the fulfillment of final provisions, especially with the use of weapons. Conclusion. To increase the attractiveness of the competition, it is necessary to take measures to increase the reality of performing motor actions on the part of the opponent and increase the variability of model situations by separating the competition for modeling the situations of attack of an armed and unarmed enemy separately in directions

Abstract:
Abstract. In modern conditions, the military profession does not exclude activities related to the forcible detention of a criminal or aggressor. A serviceman who is proficient in hand-to-hand combat often achieves superiority over a physically stronger enemy who outnumbers him. In this case, the defenders use motor actions that, if properly directed and applied by internal and external forces, provide either a gain in strength or a gain in time. Naturally, in the process of special physical training (SPT) the issue of effective training of hand-to-hand combat techniques plays an important role in achieving a positive result in the performance of the task.
The existing practice of special physical training in higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine shows that today, in the process of cadets' SPT, the rich material accumulated by specialists in the theory and methods of physical education and sports training is not yet fully used.
The introduction of the latest technologies based on the use of hand-to-hand combat requires specialists to search for and apply innovative teaching methods and technologies, identify the most effective areas of the educational process that contribute to the achievement of a high professional level of students.

Abstract:
The long-term experience of physical training of the Armed Forces of foreign countries convincingly proves that hand-to-hand combat, with appropriate organization and conduct, can serve as an effective means of educating personnel in the spirit of devotion, contribute to instilling in servicemen a sense of responsibility, camaraderie and mutual assistance, loyalty to one’s duty, collectivism and cohesion. Today, when our servicemen take part in the defense of the state, it is especially important to use all possible means for the psychological readiness of servicemen in order to perform their assigned tasks in a high-quality manner. The successful performance of military tasks and the future fate of our country depend on the psychological preparedness of military personnel. The purpose of the research was to determine modern technologies and methods of improving hand-to-hand combat techniques to improve the combat and psychological training of servicemen. Research methods. To conduct the research, the methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, questionnaires among experts (15 people) and cadets-future officers (120 cadets) were used, regarding the effectiveness of the application of the training model for future officers in hand-to-hand combat in the system of physical training. The methods of theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature were used to conduct the research. In total, more than 60 sources of information were analyzed, after which a final review was conducted and 34 literature sources were singled out, the material of which was processed using general scientific methods. The results. According to the results of the study, it was established that special physical training as an educational discipline aims to provide training of military personnel and specialists of power structures with a high level of versatile physical and psychological readiness, capable of effectively and qualitatively solving assigned tasks, to withstand mental, neuropsychological and physical stress without reducing the effectiveness of military professional activity, mastering the skills of using means of physical influence and self-defense, as well as minimizing the negative impact of the factors of the real situation on the general efficiency and combat readiness of personnel, which becomes especially relevant in the conditions of long, continuous combat operations. Conclusions. The need for the process of training the future personnel of military personnel and specialists of the security forces of Ukraine for complex forms of pedagogical activity, in which medical-biological, psychophysiological, and organizational-methodical approaches are integrated, is determined. Accounting for all the mentioned approaches in a complex is the most important condition for increasing the effectiveness of the learning process

Abstract:
Actuality. A characteristic feature of hand-to-hand combat is the technique demonstration section. Applied hand-to-hand combat fully corresponds to the specifics of solving operational tasks without and with the use of weapons by representatives of various military and law enforcement agencies. It is known that in certain types of martial arts, throwing is a means of achieving an advantage over an opponent, so these technical elements are often used to solve competitive or operational-service tasks. Athletes from hand-to-hand combat during competitive activities, as well as law enforcement officers during the performance of operative tasks quite often use throwing equipment. But, despite the similarity of technical performance, the use of throwing technique in the application section of hand-to-hand combat has its own characteristics. It is clear that the characteristics of hand- to-hand combat require new approaches to the construction of the training process of the combat direction, which differ from the classical types of martial arts. Research results. Competitive activity from the applied section of hand-to-hand combat fully corresponds to the specifics of solving operational-service tasks without and with the use of weapons by representatives of various power structures. Throwing technique is one of the main tools for solving a competitive task. The use of the throwing technique depends on the type of attack and has its own characteristics and patterns for effective execution. The most versatile throwing action is the rear leg throw. In certain types of threats: with a knife or a gun - the use of throwing techniques is impractical. Catching and reaching create conditions for the use of a large number of options for various throws, most of which are performed with the help of the body. Conclusions. It has been established that in hand-to-hand combat, throws are an important component of the technical arsenal for solving competitive tasks, both in the duel section and in the technique demonstration section, but the features of hand-to-hand combat do not create an opportunity to immediately throw the opponent, it is necessary to carry out preliminary offensive or defensive actions with a simultaneous reduction of the distance and by capturing or covering individual parts of the opponent's body or clothing. The main feature of the performance is maintaining balance in the rack position for further technical actions. The use of throws from certain classification groups depends on the type of attack. Threats in the form of captures and captures have the greatest variability for the use of throws, and a universal and effective means of using counterattacking actions (throws) from various types of attack from a practical point of view is the back step. In case of a threat with a knife or a gun, taking into account the specifics of this type of attack, the use of throwing techniques to repel the attack is impractical.

Abstract:
The purpose of this publication is to provide generalized knowledge of the area of changes that took place over past centuries in relation to health, social and cultural conditions. In Greek mythology, it was necessary to nurture both body and spirit to be a perfect human being. This link between the concepts of physical beauty and goodness can be also found in later works dedicated to ancient Greek history. Particularly in Greek myths, and in Greek education in general, it was believed that both physical and spiritual excellence were necessary to raise men to achieve their true form. Some of the main forms of implementing this idea were hand-to-hand combat exercises (wrestling, boxing and pankration). Ideas characteristic of the world of ancient Greece, in a general sense, can be observed in the culture of the Far East. The main difference is the fact that these principles did not survive in Western culture as a result of transformation into a consumer society focused on the rejection of moral principles. The brutalisation of the forms of the Roman Games meant that the ideals of the ancient world were forgotten for more than 1500 years. The modern Olympic Games were resurrected in the 19th century. Inspired by the ancient Greek cult of health of body and spirit, they gave rise to a movement known as Olympism. In the Olympic Charter written by Coubertin, Olympism was called “a philosophy of life exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind”. The combat sports disciplines have had their place there since the beginning of the modern Olympic Games. The evolution of hand-to-hand combat disciplines, including numerous scientific studies indicating a very broad impact in the area of health, led to this type of physical activity being reached for as an essential element in supporting the health-promoting behaviour of society. Nowadays, physical activity in the area of exercise with elements of hand-to-hand combat, combat sports, or martial arts is an indissoluble link in the prevention and treatment of 21st century diseases. For Parkinson’s disease patients, drug treatment is an essential resource for continuing to function in society, but it will not be completely effective without supporting the treatment with appropriate and attractive physical activity (e.g., “Rock Steady Boxing”). Of similar importance is the prevention of dangerous falls, which are common in this population as well as among the elderly or those affected by other diseases of civilisation. Implementing the principles and techniques of safe falling in the teaching of the young population significantly increases the likelihood of applying appropriate responses to these individuals in adulthood and old age. Actions that should be taken now for prevention can be implemented through social programmes, such as “Active today for a healthy future”.

Abstract:
Given the current events, the supply of weapons and military equipment by partner countries and its rapid development in everyday military life, the nature of combat operations against the Russian aggressor, we can conclude that modern combat does not exclude the occurrence of close combat between military personnel, units (groups) and the enemy, which may turn into hand-to-hand combat. The analysis of combat operations and experience has shown that most close combat engagements in wartime are conducted indoors, in populated areas, in wooded areas, in a limited area, in trenches, etc. In addition to the above, hand-to-hand combat is possible in cases of absence or loss of personal weapons and in conditions where the use of personal weapons is impossible or inappropriate for any reason.
The use of hand-to-hand combat means is a weapon that cannot be seen, but is always available to the soldier. The ability to master hand-to-hand combat techniques in certain situations when facing the enemy can be the only means and factor in achieving a successful outcome in combat, preserving the life and health of subordinate personnel, personal and fellow soldiers.
The training of military personnel and structural units in general for hand-to-hand combat in close combat in order to increase the combat capability of troops remains an urgent issue in modern combat. After all, hand-to-hand combat is an effective factor and element in the development and improvement of the physical, psychological and combat readiness of military personnel.
Thus, it is expedient to develop, substantiate and experimentally test the effectiveness of the program of psychological preparedness of servicemen for military and professional activities based on the use of hand-to-hand combat.

Abstract:
The introduction shows the role and importance of physical training in improving the service and operational activities of police officers.
The article reveals the problem of using combat fighting techniques for cadets and students of educational organisations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, their development and application in further service in the practical internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation, and also notes that combat fighting techniques are one of the main components of the service and operational activities of policemen in hand-to-hand combat with offenders. Consequently, this is a kind of combat in which both firearms and cold weapons are used, as well as improvised means and martial arts without weapons. These techniques constitute the basic complex of self-defense at close range with the help of preemptive strikes to enhance the activities of police officers and other law enforcement agencies in order to protect civilians. In the process of discussing the research results, recommendations were developed for the protection of the civilian population from criminal arbitrariness, based on the analysis; it was proposed to rename the section «Combat fighting techniques» to «Hand-to-hand combat».
The results of the study showed that the cadets are well-prepared in terms of mastering the legal foundations for the use of combat fighting techniques; they study these techniques more qualitatively than poorly trained officials and perform them with an «excellent» rating.
In addition, fighting techniques of wrestling are an integral part of self-defense. It is shown that for a better and deeper mastering techniques studied within the framework of this discipline, an official of the internal affairs bodies must first at least theoretically study the system of self-defense, and then, enriched with knowledge, practically learn the basic combat techniques.
In conclusion, it was noted that hand-to-hand combat contributes to the development and improvement of physical qualities and the effective implementation of operational and service tasks. It is recommended that physical culture and sports societies organize courses for the general population on the study of self-defense techniques.

Abstract:
Modern hand- to-hand combat is often characterized by the manifestation of unfavorable aspects associated with the lack of effective psychological training and psychological justification for intense physical and psychological stress that lead athletes to socially significant competitions. It involves the execution of punches and kicks and defense against them, throws, painful techniques associated with significant risks and danger for military personnel involved in this sport. Thus, the formation of the state of mental and psychological readiness of hand-to-hand specialists in the process of military professional activity and preparation for competitions remains an urgent issue. Analyzing the current conditions and actions caused by the invasion of the Russian aggressor, taking into account the state of military personnel during combat operations, the use of physical force in the absence of weapons and military equipment, we can state that hand-to-hand combat and hand-to-hand combat at this stage will be crucial in shaping the psychological readiness to perform combat missions as intended and achieve victory over the enemy in close combat.

Today's conditions, changes in the directions of military and professional activity and the conditions for conducting combat operations by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the state against the aggressor of the Russian Federation require from hand-to-hand combat the improvement of the set of means for training, education and formation of soldiers in technical, tactical, physical and mental readiness for actions in difficult conditions of close combat.
The article presents the main results of experimental research on the testing in real conditions of the educational process of the proposed experimental program for training female servicemen in hand-to-hand combat, which are used during practical classes in accordance with the training program at the VZVO (Lviv) during the academic year. The purpose of the experimental training program for female servicemen was to prepare cadets for hand-to-hand combat and self-defense. The program is designed for the period of study at the VZVO: in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years - study and training of techniques and actions, in the 4th and 5th years - improvement of previously learned techniques and actions of hand-to-hand combat with the inclusion of a section in various forms of physical preparation

Abstract:
It is clear that the characteristics of hand-to-hand combat require new approaches to the construction of the training process of the combat direction, which differ from the classical types of martial arts.

Summarizing the results of the analysis of the scientific methodical and reference literature, it is established, that the urgent issue of forming the tactical preparedness of representatives of the institutions of the security and defense sector of Ukraine (SDSU) to use the techniques of service-applied hand-to-hand combat in extreme conditions of service-combat activity (SCA) – an insufficient number of scientific works are devoted to it. This emphasizes the relevance and practical component of the chosen direction of scientific research.
The main goal of the study is the construction and approval of a content-functional model of the formation of the readiness of future law enforcement officers to use tactical schemes of hand-to-hand combat with the enemy in simulated extreme SCA conditions.
As a result of the empirical study, the members of the research group constructed and tested a content-functional model for the formation of the readiness of future law enforcement officers to use tactical schemes for conducting hand-to-hand combat with the enemy in simulated SDSU conditions. When comparing indicators before and after approbation of the above-mentioned content- functional model, it was established that the results obtained at the end of the pedagogical experiment in the studied groups Kg and Eg increased relative to the initial and intermediate indicators, and these differences are mostly reliable (Eg, Р≤0.05).
Prospects for further research in the chosen field of scientific intelligence include the development of tactical schemes for hand-to-hand combat with the enemy in the aquatic environment.

Abstract:
The peculiarities of today's events in the state, the significant workload of military personnel, the inept application of the methodology regarding the correctness of the organization of physical training classes lead to the need to find relevant directions and methods of conducting individual classes on training for receptions in various conditions of military-professional activity. Taking into account the lack of proper professional selection in physical training for higher military educational institutions, in our opinion, is one of the main reasons for the low level of development of basic physical qualities of first-year cadets.
Taking into account these circumstances, at the initial stage of training there is a need to carry out significant preliminary work on the general strengthening and rehabilitation of cadets, which, in turn, significantly reduces the training time required for the formation and development of motor skills and the skills of mastering complex ordinal high-speed motor actions, which are techniques hand-to-hand combat.
Thus, in order to increase the effectiveness of the educational process in the existing conditions, it is necessary to consider a comprehensive approach to the organization and conduct of educational classes, which is based on the effective interaction of several scientific and pedagogical workers.

Abstract:
Taking into account the increased competition in the female discipline "hand-to-handcombat" today, a scientific theoretical substantiation of the long-term training of athletes inthis complexly coordinated sport is put forward in a number of urgent and timely tasks. Dueto the variety of techniques from different types of martial arts, a certain rigidity ofcompetitive fights, the training process in hand-to-hand combat has a number of features, andpreparation for specific competitive activity requires athletes to have a high level ofpsychological stability, physical fitness and technical-tactical skill. The analysis is part of a comprehensive study on the scientific and theoreticalsubstantiation of the long-term sports training of women specializing in the sport of "handto-hand fighting". Within the framework of the study, the characteristics of the organism of young athletes, the morphological and functional state, the possibilities of the cardiovascular, respiratory systems, the musculoskeletal system, physical performance were studied, as wellas the strengths and weaknesses of their physical fitness were revealed.According to the results of the study, it was stated that in the practice of women'ssports training in hand-to-hand fighting, a contradiction was formed between the public orderfor high physical conditions of athletes necessary for complex competitive activity and theinsufficient level of physical development and preparedness of girls for the upcoming specifictraining activity in the groups of initial sports training. The low efficiency of the approachesproposed by the current programs to the formation of appropriate physical fitness for furthertraining activities at the stage of sports specialization was revealed. The results obtained will form the basis for the scientific and theoretical substantiationof the content-technological approaches to the physical and special physical training of girlsat the stage of initial training in hand-to-hand combat.

Abstract:
Background Intestinal anastomoses in military settings are performed in severely injured patients who often undergo damage control laparotomy in austere environments. We describe anastomotic outcomes of patients from recent wars. Methods Military personnel with combat-related intra-abdominal injuries (June 2009-December 2014) requiring laparotomy with resection and anastomosis were analyzed. Patients were evacuated from Iraq or Afghanistan to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (Germany) before being transferred to participating U.S. military hospitals. Results Among 341 patients who underwent 1053 laparotomies, 87 (25.5%) required ≥1 anastomosis. Stapled anastomosis only was performed in 57.5% of patients, while hand-sewn only was performed in 14.9%, and 9.2% had both stapled and hand-sewn techniques (type unknown for 18.4%). Anastomotic failure occurred in 15% of patients. Those with anastomotic failure required more anastomoses (median 2 anastomoses, interquartile range [IQR] 1-3 vs. 1 anastomosis, IQR 1-2, P = .03) and more total laparotomies (median 5 laparotomies, IQR 3-12 vs. 3, IQR 2-4, P = .01). There were no leaks in patients that had only hand-sewn anastomoses, though a significant difference was not seen with those who had stapled anastomoses. While there was an increasing trend regarding surgical site infections (SSIs) with anastomotic failure after excluding superficial SSIs, it was not significant. There was no difference in mortality. Discussion Military trauma patients have a similar anastomotic failure rate to civilian trauma patients. Patients with anastomotic failure were more likely to have had more anastomoses and more total laparotomies. No definitive conclusions can be drawn about anastomotic outcome differences between hand-sewn and stapled techniques.

Abstract:
The thing is about sambo – a fighting art between self-defence and sport. Or is it more of a form of wrestling? Is it a martial art, a combat system, or a sport? How similar is sambo to jujutsu or judo? How should this fighting art be defined? The author takes into account the statements of various specialists and seeks explanations by logical proof. Therefore, the method of research here is the analysis of the content of the literature on the subject, direct interviews, and the analysis of documents. Older publications (textbooks and other books) were also treated as sources. Then the process of logical deduction was carried out. Sambo is not homogeneous – sport sambo and combat sambo are like separate fighting arts. Sport sambo is a wrestling fight based mainly on Japanese technical and tactical patterns. It is like a combination of freestyle wrestling and judo. In contrast, other forms of sambo are a form of self-defence, a system of military hand-to-hand combat, or an eclectic mix of different fighting techniques. Sambo does not meet the criteria for martialart and martial way. It is therefore a form of fighting art, as a combat sport or training program for MMA, eclectic self-defence or combat system.

Abstract:
The article considers the problem of theoretical and methodological support of the educational and training process of members of the hand-to-hand combat team of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine. Mastering martial arts by cadets of higher military educational institutions of Ukraine is of particular relevance in modern conditions, which are characterized by an increased level of threats to the security of the state and citizens. Martial arts help develop strength, endurance, reaction speed, and coordination of movements, which are necessary for performing official duties in difficult conditions. Learning self-defense techniques, neutralizing an opponent without the use of weapons, is critically important for working in situations where the use of firearms is impossible or impractical. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, generalization and concretization, classification and systematization, modeling, historical method, logical method, comparative (comparative) method, formalization, forecasting, abstraction, hypothetical-deductive method. The article focuses on the importance of systematic and comprehensive training of athletes to ensure their high level of physical and psychological readiness for competitions and the performance of assigned tasks. A modern approach to planning the educational and training process has been developed and substantiated, which takes into account the specifics of the activities of employees of the Security Service of Ukraine. The proposed methodological recommendations are aimed at improving the technical- tactical, physical and moral-volitional training of athletes. The results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of the developed methodological support, which contributes to improving the sports results of team members and their readiness to perform professional duties in stressful and extreme conditions. Mastering martial arts by cadets of the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine is not only a means of professional training, but also an important factor in their psychological, physical and moral readiness to perform tasks in the face of modern challenges. This not only contributes to their personal development, but also ensures a high level of security for the state and citizens. Prospects for further research in the chosen direction of scientific exploration involve the development of an experimental training program for representatives of the studied category (annual training cycle).

AbstractIntroduction: It is a well-known fact that during a dental impression, some patients suffer from the gag reflexes. Aim of the study: Even if the main tendency is to use medication, our goal is to find a way to combat it.Material and methods: With the help of our 155 volunteering students, from UMFST Târgu Mureș, who agreed on having their dental impression taken, using alginate material, we tried to combat the gag reflex, using the following techniques: the high-leg method, salt crystals, as well as using a special impression tray. Results: When we applied all of these methods, great attention was payed, as we diligently wrote everything down. After all the work was done, we obtained the following results: 130 did not show any vomiting signs, 17 of them presented moderate vomiting reflex and only 8 of them have shown extreme vomiting reflex, leading to the point where the impression could not be performed. Conclusions: On the one hand, for the less informed people, these techniques present a better outcome; on the other hand, however, we wish to highlight one thing: the skills of the doctor are of utmost importance.

Abstract:
In contemporary times, training in various martial arts disciplines has become quite popular among the general population. The percentage of individuals with some degree of proficiency in martial arts is as high among lawbreakers as it is among the general population. Therefore, the demands on the level of professional training for police officers are increasing in response to the challenges they face. Currently, there is no unified system of training for law enforcement personnel in Ukraine, making it challenging to draw statistical conclusions about the overall effectiveness of any specific system. However, in Western law enforcement agencies, Jiu-Jitsu has long been recognized for its effectiveness, particularly in defending against strikes during its utilization in the context of so-called “No-Holds- Barred” fights in the early 1990s, which we now know as MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). The high sporting efficiency of Jiu-Jitsu, supported by years of statistical research in Western countries, suggests that its application in police work could be a pivotal factor in changing the professional training landscape for law enforcement personnel in Ukraine. Research objective. To evaluate the potential use of Jiu-Jitsu methods to enhance the effectiveness of police officers during detainment procedures and further refine their skills in the application of hand-to-hand combat techniques. Abstract:
Strength-endurance is one of the trainable physical capacities that could determine the success in some combat sports and its inclusion is obligatory in the training periodization of high-level athletes. In striking combat sports, such as boxing and taekwondo, it seems likely that increases in dynamic strength-endurance improve the ability to execute combat movements repeatedly. On the other hand, grapplers need to develop high levels of strength-endurance because during the match much time is spent in grip dispute and the success in this phase may determine the possibility to execute scoring techniques. Furthermore, in mixed combat sports, where a combination of striking and grappling are required, athletes needs to have the capacity to maintain dynamic or static muscular actions during prolonged periods during the match, and the strength-endurance is one key element. Therefore, this chapter presents the strength-endurance requirements during the match, the specific tests for its evaluation, scientific evidence of longitudinal studies on the development of strength-endurance in combat sports athletes and the methods for its development.

Abstract:
The existence of threats to national security, especially the territorial integrity of the country, requires the existence of such Armed Forces in Ukraine that could to ensure the complete security of our state in all situations. Analyzing the activities of reconnaissance specialists, the conditions of the present and the fighting on the territory of the state, we can say that recently a weak possession of personal small arms, hand-to-hand combat techniques, insufficient skills of servicemen to overcome existing engineering barriers, rubble, especially against the background of fatigue, have been revealed. At the same time, there is a lack of scientific, theoretical, theoretical and methodological justification of practical ways to achieve the physical readiness of military personnel, the presence of weak links in the system of their preparation for action in extreme conditions of combat activity. One of the reasons, in our opinion, is the imperfect and long-term solution of organizational issues regarding the introduction of a scientific approach to the physical training of servicemen of intelligence units in the conditions of warfare. Thus, the urgent issue remains the search for ways to increase the effectiveness of physical training of the reconnaissance units of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their implementation in the guidance documents on physical training.

Abstract:
Reducing unemployment and then creating productive jobs are the two biggest barriers in most developing countries. However, the achievements of the two programs face a dilemma. On the one hand, broad job creation leads to a decrease in labor compensation. On the other hand, increasing labor compensation implies that employers will change their production techniques to be capital intensive (i.e. lay off their workers). This study tests the hypothesis that workers whose compensation packages contain a profit-sharing component are less prone to being laid off in the face of negative shocks to product demand than workers who are paid a fixed time-based wage. The theory is tested on macroeconomic data, particularly on two selected manufacturing industries in Indonesia. The estimation results show that the profit sharing meets the theoretical requirements to stabilize employment. This means that profit sharing can be considered as a means to combat unemployment.

Abstract:
Visual response time is essential in combat sports such as taekwondo, as it allows players to react to the opponent's movement and quickly apply techniques with sufficient power. Therefore, it is necessary to determine how coordination exercises and routine training affect visual response time in Taekwondo players. Based on this information, our study aimed to investigate the effect of eight-week hand-eye coordination training on visual response time in 12-14-year-old male taekwondo players. Thirty-two male taekwondo athletes aged 12-14 participated in the study voluntarily. The participants were divided into a training group (n:16) and a control group (n:16). The training group practiced hand-eye coordination exercises and routine taekwondo training twice a week for eight weeks. The control group continued their routine taekwondo training without any coordination training. Visual response times before and after the hand-eye coordination training were determined using the Blazepod System. 2*2 Repeated Measures ANOVA was used to compare pre-test and post-test measures. Abstract:
Combat penetrating gunshot injuries are frequently associated with damage to the liver. A bile leak and an external biliary fistula (EBF) are typical complications. Biliary decompression is commonly applied for the management of EBF. Furthermore, there is insufficient data available regarding the characteristics of combat trauma and its management in the context of ongoing hybrid warfare in East Ukraine.
A 23yearold male was admitted with a thoracoabdominal penetrating gunshot wound (GSW) that was caused by a highenergy multiple metal projectile (a fragmented sniper bullet). Damage control tactics was applied at all 4 levels of military medical care. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic sphincterotomy, and placement of a biliary stent were used for evaluation and biliary decompression. Stent occlusion was treated with stent replacement and scheduled ERCP. Partial EBF was diagnosed based on the primary wound defect of the liver and was closed without surgical intervention on the 34th day after injury. Acute cholecystitis was associated with ERCP and was managed with cholecystostomy.
The combination of operative and nonoperative techniques for the management of the combat GSW to the liver is effective, along with the application of damage control tactics. Scheduled ERCP is effective for the management of EBF, so liver resection can be avoided. The transpapillary intervention with stent placement was successfully used for biliary decompression. Early posttraumatic stent occlusion can be diagnosed and effectively managed by scheduled ERCP as well as stent replacement with a largediameter stent inserted as close as possible to the site of bile leak.

Abstract:
The study is devoted to the study of the problem of formation of combat readiness of cadets of military institutions of higher education in the process of special and physical training. During the study, it was found that special training of military personnel is a system of measures aimed at mastering special techniques, actions, samples of special equipment for the purpose of performing official duties. It is revealed that the mastery of motor action occurs in the following methodological sequence: the formation of knowledge about the essence of motor action, the development of motor action in general, the development of automated skills. Differentiation of motor action into three levels is conditional, since there are no clear and stable boundaries for separation, but such a classification is necessary for the formulation and implementation of educational tasks. The development of physical fitness of future military personnel is carried out by improving physical qualities, the formation of professional and applied skills in moving across rough terrain, overcoming obstacles, hand-to-hand combat, military-applied swimming, etc. The content of physical training with a general orientation includes a variety of exercises, such as middle and long distance running, athletic gymnastics, exercises for the development of static and dynamic endurance, swimming, exercises in heights and stops (on bars and crossbeams) plyometrics, etc. Special physical training of cadets is a set of classes aimed at the development of physical qualities necessary for the performance of service and combat missions and focused on ensuring readiness and ability to act in various, including extreme conditions. The symbiosis of special and physical training programs for cadets provides an increase in the speed of shooting and the effectiveness of hitting the target, the development of skills for the rational use of fire weapons and tactical shooting techniques, increasing general and special endurance and strength, improving mental and physical health.

Abstract:
Given the transformation of Ukraine’s military education system, the experience of professional and physical training of officer personnel at military educational institutions in Great Britain is of particular interest. The aim of this article is to summarize the organizational and pedagogical foundations of the professional and physical training of British Armed Forces officers. The British Armed Forces are one of the largest armed forces in Europe; they are fully professional and voluntary. Although Britain’s national security concept includes an emphasis on countering the new threats of the information age, physical training of officers in military education institutions is a priority. It has been established that the United Kingdom has accumulated innovative experience that can be used to develop a system of continuous physical training of border guard officers. In particular, physical training of officers in British military education institutions remains a priority. Physical training programs for officers of the British Armed Forces include general gymnastics, athletics, swimming, soccer, boxing, and judo. In addition, in ground units designed for direct participation in combat operations, physical training programs are supplemented by overcoming obstacles and learning hand-to-hand combat techniques. A compulsory element is the so-called adventure course, covering a set of techniques and actions for moving on difficult terrain, overcoming natural and artificial obstacles in the conditions of tactical tasks. Physical training of future police officers in training centers is practice-oriented. This is a short and medium-distance running, the ability to use special techniques when detaining suspicious persons, etc. Key words: physical training system, officers, military schools and colleges, military education, British Armed Forces, sports.

Abstract:
Increasingly prevalent respiratory infectious diseases (e.g., COVID-19) have posed severe threats to public health. Viruses including coronavirus, influenza, and so on can cause respiratory infections. A pandemic may potentially emerge owing to the worldwide spread of the virus through persistent human-to-human transmission. However, transmission pathways may vary; respiratory droplets or airborne virus-carrying particles can have a key role in transmitting infections to humans. In conjunction with social distancing, hand cleanliness, and other preventative measures, the use of face masks is considered to be another scientific approach to combat ubiquitous coronavirus. Different types of face masks are produced using a range of materials (e.g., polypropylene, polyacrylonitrile, polycarbonate, polyurethane, polystyrene, polyester and polyethylene) and manufacturing techniques (woven, knitted, and non-woven) that provide different levels of protection to the users. However, the efficacy and proper disposal/management of the used face masks, particularly the ones made of non-biodegradable polymers, pose great environmental concerns. This review compiles the recent advancements of face masks, covering their requirements, materials and techniques used, efficacy, challenges, risks, and sustainability towards further enhancement of the quality and performance of face masks.

Abstract:
Taekwondo is a combat sport popular for its high-flying kicks and hard-hitting punches. Intrigued by the underlying techniques, this research aims to analyze and understand the intricate mechanics of flying front snap kicks, valued for their agility, and side punches, scrutinized for their effectiveness in close-quarters combat. Despite their distinctive potential efficacy, there is a lack of existing literature that delves into the details of these techniques, unlike roundhouse kicks and straight punches. In this study, a taekwondoin, Stephanie Kew Yen Nee, who achieved the remarkable feat of holding a black tip rank within a year, performed the kicks and punches. Every execution was captured in the form of three-dimensional (3D) data and examined through frame-by-frame analysis. The key findings demonstrated that the flying front snap kick necessitates well-coordinated body movements, including the lifting through contractions of the hip and leg muscles, which are vital for generating momentum. The side punch, on the other hand, predominantly depends on the right thoracic rotation and activation of the core muscles to exert force. Therefore, analyzing these mechanics can facilitate the tactical integration of these techniques into different facets of Taekwondo, including sparring and self-defense.

Abstract:
Phase Modulation Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (PM-OFDM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) have distinctive advantages. On one hand, PM-OFDM is an attractive technique to combat multipath fading and reduce high PAPR in conventional OFDM. On the other hand, CDMA has the ability to serve multiple users at the same time and/or frequency. In this article, a new PM-OFDM-CDMA system that combines PM-OFDM and CDMA is proposed. The idea behind the proposed technique is to combine the advantages of these techniques in order to enhance the performance of the 5G system by serving multiple users simultaneously. The performance of the proposed system is analysed in terms of BER under different channel conditions. A Minimum Mean Square Equaliser (MMSE) scheme is used in order to avoid the effect of multipath effect and noise simultaneously. From the simulation results, we conclude that the proposed system has good performance that can improve 5G wireless communication networks, especially for battery-powered mobile devices. This amounts to the constant envelope of the proposed waveform which generates constant instantaneous power and therefore reduced PAPR.
