Abstract:

This thesis presents the design, modeling, and development of adaptive robot hands that are capable of performing dexterous, in-hand manipulation. The robot hand comprises of anthropomorphic robotic fingers, which employ an adaptive actuation mechanism. The mechanism achieves both flexion/extension and adduction/abduction, on the finger's metacarpophalangeal joint, by using two actuators. Moment arm pulleys are employed to drive the tendon laterally, such that an amplification on the abduction motion occurs, while also maintaining the flexion motion. Particular emphasis has been given to the modeling and the analysis of the actuation mechanism. Also, a model for spatial motion is provided that relates the actuation modes with the finger motion and the tendon force with the finger characteristics. For the hand design, the use of differential mechanisms simplifies the actuation scheme, as we utilize only two actuators for four fingers, achieving affordable dexterity. A design optimization framework assess the results of hand anthropometry studies to derive key parameters for the bio-inspired actuation design. The model assumptions are evaluated with the finite element method. The proposed finger has been fabricated with the Hybrid Deposition Manufacturing technique and the actuation mechanism's efficiency has been validated with experiments that include the computation of the finger workspace, the assessment of the force exertion capabilities, the demonstration of the feasible motions, and the grasping and manipulation capabilities. Also, the hand design is fabricated with off-the-shelf materials and rapid prototyping techniques while its efficiency has been validated using an extensive set of experimental paradigms that involved the execution of grasping and in-hand manipulation tasks with everyday objects.

The design is minimal and the hand is capable of performing selective interdigitation, robust grasping, and dexterous, in-hand manipulation. Particular emphasis has been given to the modeling and the analysis of the actuation mechanism. For the hand design, the use of differential mechanisms simplifies the actuation scheme, as we utilize only two actuators for four fingers, achieving affordable dexterity. A design optimization framework assess the results of hand anthropometry studies to derive key parameters for the actuation design. The robotic fingers and the anthropomorphic hand were fabricated using off-the-self materials and additive manufacturing techniques. Several experiments were performed to validate the efficacy of the robot hand.

Abstract:

Internet har blivit nästintill oumbärligt i dagens värld. Från online-spel till e-handel och från kommunikationskanaler till ett informativt nät, är Internet förmodligen en av de mest framträngande och vitt spridda uppfinningarna av vår tid. Medan säkerheten kring användandet av Internet har diskuterats vilt så har användbarheten av Internet i olika områden inte utforskats till samma grad. Det finns mycket statistik och information om Internethandel men få fokuserar på lokala vanor eller specifika genres inom området. Med den här uppsatsen vill vi undersöka vilka nyckelelement som är de viktigaste när det gäller handel av kläder online, och vi har begränsat vår forskning till människor som bor i Stockholm. Det vi har kommit fram till är en blandning utav överraskningar och siffror som vi gissade oss till innan vi startade, men i sin helhet har det här projektet lärt oss mycket, inte bara om de frågeställningar vi har ställt oss utan även om e-handel i allmänhet och en hel del oväntade faktorer som an leda till framtida forskning i det här området.
Internet has almost become inevitable in today’s world. From on-line gaming to e-shopping and from communication channels to an information web, Internet is probably one of the most penetrated and widespread inventions of this era. While the topic of uses and abuses of Internet has widely been discussed, its usefulness in various sectors has not been widely researched. There are a lot of statistics and information about e-commerce but few focus on local habits and specific genres within online shopping. With this paper, we want to examine what key elements are the most important when it comes to shopping clothes online, and we have limited our research to people living in Stockholm. Our findings are a mix between surprises and numbers that we guessed before we started, but all in all – this project has taught us a lot, not only about the questions we raise at the beginning but also about e-commerce in general and a lot of unexpected factors that might lead us to future investigations in this area.

Abstract:

Under de senaste åren har mobiltelefontekniken utvecklats väldigt snabbt i takt med att smartphones kommit in på marknaden. Den traditionella mobiltelefonens funktioner finns också i smartphonen, men denna har också många fler funktioner. Det som utmärker smartphonen mest är att den oftast har touch-skärm, webbläsare och kan hantera applikationer. I postens e-barometer Q4 år 2010 (undersökning om e-handel) framgår att 19 procent av respondenterna någon gång e-handlat på sin mobiltelefon. I samma undersökning visar siffror också på att 20 procent av respondenterna anser säkerheten vara en faktor som gör att de inte handlar via mobiltelefonen. Vi undersöker i denna studie om samma siffror gäller även för enbart smartphones. Men vi går också ett steg längre och undersöker vilka säkerhetsrisker som finns i smartphones och vilka av dessa som påverkar användarens köpbeslut. I studien har vi även undersökt vilka möjligheter det finns till att förebygga säkerhetsriskerna som finns i smartphonen.Den empiriska undersökningen skedde genom en enkät som 50 personer svarade på. En statistisk prövning baserad på sex hypoteser genomfördes sedan vilket bland annat visade antydan till att det finns en skillnad i köpbeslut mellan iOS - och Android-användare. Resultatet visar även att det enbart är säkerhetsrisken att lämna ut sitt kontokortsnummer som möjligen påverkar användarens köpbeslut. Det visar sig också att 74 procent av deltagarna i denna studie någon gång e-handlat på sin smartphone och av dessa personer hade 84 procent e-handlat en applikation. Ytterligare tyder det på att även om risken om att ange sitt kontokortsnummer kan påverka användarens köpbeslut så pekar resultatet på att denna betalningslösning är den användaren föredrar allra mest. Studien visar också att många av deltagarna använder säkerhetskod på sin smartphone och att detta är en funktion som användaren tycker är viktig.

Abstract:

Den elektroniska handeln har varit på framfart i många år, den erbjuder stora potentiella affärsmöjligheter för företag. Med hjälp av internet kan företag idag erbjuda produkter och tjänster till kunder över hela världen. Elektronisk handel kan också erbjudas via mobiltelefoner, även kallat mobilhandel. Den handeln har i Sverige haft en trög tillväxt jämfört med den elektroniska, en förklaring till detta kan vara säkerhetsaspekten. Flera forskare uttrycker att det råder en osäkert hos konsumenten i transaktionsutförandet. Även fast tillväxten börjat ta fart sedan det explosionsartade användandet av smartphone kan vi fortfarande se att företag är försiktiga med att investera i den mobila försäljningskanalen. Eftersom den mobilahandeln fortfarande är relativ ny i Sverige är den också oprövad, det finns inte tillräckligt med teorier som säger hur företagen bör arbeta för att skapa en lönsam mobilkanal. Statistik visar att de flesta använder sin smartphone för att söka information, det krävs således att företag kan konvertera sina besökare till kunder. En annan problematik som vi valt att fokusera på är målgruppsanalysen, vilka är det som kan tänka sig använda sig av m-handel och vad för faktorer är viktiga för konsumenten om de handlar via mobilen. Med den utgångspunkten är vårt syfte att studera de personliga, tekniska och finansiella faktorerna som ligger till grund för en djupare förståelse av vad som påverkar konsumenters acceptans att handla/betala via mobilen. Vi vill även undersöka om det finns andra faktorer som kan dyka upp i resultatet, som kan ha en viktig betydelse relaterat till vår forskningsfråga. Studien skrivs ur ett konsumentbeteende perspektiv. Vidare bygger studien på en kvantitativ metod som vi valt att utföra med hjälp av enkäter. Det var 144st smartphone-användare som besvarade enkäten och som ligger till grund till resultatet. Våra slutsatser besvarar vår problemformulering utifrån de tre faktorer som vi valt att fokusera på. Resultatet visade att de tekniska faktorerna spelade en större roll än de två andra.

Abstract:

Climate change is something that people are growing more concerned about. In conjunction with this, sustainability is becoming more important for Swedish consumers who shop online. Studies have also shown that it has become more common to shop second hand. A company that seeks to capitalize on this is Sellpy. The company describes itself as Sweden's largest e-commerce for second hand items. The purpose of this essay was to conduct a critical rhetoric analysis to investigate how the rhetoric works in Sellpy's communication on the web page “Vårt ansvar”. In addition the study aimed to investigate if there were underlying meanings in Sellpy's communication. To accomplish the purpose of the study the theoretical framework includes rhetorical theories, more particularly the rhetorical situation and the rhetorical disposition. The theoretical framework also includes the terms greenwashing and corporate social responsibility. These terms are used as tools to strengthen our reasoning and to helps us interpret why Sellpy's communication looks the way it does. The method used in this study is critical rhetoric analysis and includes the aspects disposition and situation. It aims to gather a deeper understanding of why a message is formatted as it is. The result showed that the text on the page "Vårt ansvar" largely follows the five parts included in the rhetorical disposition. The results also indicate that the rhetoric in Sellpy's communication is used to convince the audience that Sellpy is a reliable company with a good sustainability agenda that continuously strives for improvement through its sustainability work. Finally our results show that there is a primary underlying meaning in Sellpy's communication, namely that Sellpy wants to capitalize. In addition to this we interpret that there are also two secondary underlying meanings: the audience is good and does the environment and society a favour if they use Sellpy’s service and Sellpy is a reliable company that does good.

Abstract:

Den digitaliserade second hand-handeln är en unik marknad i det att den kombinerar nya miljömedvetna affärsmodeller med teknologiska innovationer, för att skapa en mer hållbar konsumtion. Syftet med denna uppsats är att ta reda på unga konsumenters befintliga attityder gentemot den digitaliserade second hand-handeln. För att avgränsa undersökningen studeras konsumenter tillhörande generationen ”Millennials” och den produkttyp som studeras är kläder. Undersökningen bygger på teorierna bakom Tricomponent Attitude-modellen samt Marknadsföringsmixens 4P vilka sedan operationaliserades i en kvantitativ enkätundersökning. Resultaten visar att ”Millennials” har en övergripande positiv attityd till digitaliserad second hand. Vidare framgår det att trots att övervägande del av respondenterna ännu inte har handlat second hand-kläder på internet uppskattar majoriteten att det är sannolikt att de skulle göra det. Studien bidrar även med ökad insikt och implikationer för företag inom denna bransch vid utformande och anpassning av marknadsföringsstrategier.

Abstract:

The fragmentation endemic to modernism poses the difficult question of how we read the modernist body. In this thesis, I propose a new critical approach in response to this question – theoretical partialism – whereby looking at the particular and reading the representation of the hand as a signifier offers further insight into wider concerns such as, female subjectivity, performativity, sexuality and societal positioning. Because the hand can be both male and female, it allows for an interpretation of the body which does not rely on biological determinism, masculine discourse or essentialist feminism but, instead, provides the site for a new understanding of the body and constructions of gendered identities. Theoretical partialism finds its origins in psychoanalysis, sexology and feminist discourse and suggests that the hand can be used as a starting point for a wider theoretical discussion of totality. The paradox of the hand’s power of unification and differentiation is explored and the fetishistic approach reveals that there is not necessarily one totality but the potential of understanding different interpretations of the total. Therefore, theoretical partialism is used not as a method of regaining conventional ideas of totality but rather as a means for gaining a reconstituted notion of the whole and of selfhood from the fragments of modernity. My thesis develops this approach through readings of six texts: predominantly Dorothy Richardson’s Pilgrimage; Arthur Munby’s material is also investigated in order to establish the hand’s significance in the Victorian imagination; and as a method of illustrating the extent to which the hand features as a signifier in modernism, I explore the fragmented form and gendered identities in James Joyce’s Ulysses, T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, Katherine Mansfield’s “The Little Governess” and Jean Rhys’s Voyage in the Dark.

Abstract:

Fast and reliable communication between human workers and robotic assistants (RAs) is essential for successful collaboration between these agents. This is especially true for typically noisy manufacturing environments that render verbal communication less effective. This thesis investigates the efficacy of nonverbal communication capabilities of robotic manipulators that have poseable, three-fingered end-effectors (hands). This work explores the extent to which different poses of a typical robotic gripper can effectively communicate instructional messages during human-robot collaboration. Within the context of a collaborative car door assembly task, a series of three studies were conducted. Study 1 empirically explored the type of hand configurations that humans use to nonverbally instruct another per- son (N=17). Based on the findings from Study 1, Study 2 examined how well human gestures with frequently used hand configurations were under- stood by recipients of the message (N=140). Finally, Study 3 implemented the most human-recognized human hand configurations on a 7-degree-of- freedom (DOF) robotic manipulator to investigate the efficacy of having human-inspired hand poses on a robotic hand compared to an unposed hand (N=100). Contributions of this work include the presentation of a set of hand configurations humans commonly use to instruct another person in a collaborative assembly scenario, as well as Recognition Rate and Recognition Confidence measures for the gestures that humans and robots expressed using different hand configurations. These experimental results indicate that most gestures are better recognized with a higher level of confidence when displayed with a posed robot hand. Guidelines and principles are provided based on these results for the mechanical design of robotic hands.

Abstract:

The skin of the palm of the hand has no friction. It is only when in contact with other objects that frictional forces appear. This friction does not, however, conform to the classic laws of friction. The thesis shows that static skin friction is lower than dynamic friction, and that increased velocity increases the coefficient of friction, but increasing load reduces it. Consequently, references to coefficient of friction where palm skin is one of the friction partners require velocity, surface pressure and skin conditions to be specified in addition to contaminants in the friction interface, before reliable conclusions can be drawn. Eleven textured and one non-textured samples all made from the same material were investigated using eighteen male subjects. They were exposed to five contaminants, three skin conditions, three levels ofload and velocities in the range 2-128 mm/so It was concluded that velocity in the friction interface is the most dominant factor contributing to palm friction. Only small, non-significant, differences in friction were found between different types of textures under non-contaminated conditions, but major, and significant differences were observed under contaminated conditions. Coarse textures increased discomfort. For static- and dynamic friction the type of texture, coarse or fine, will affect friction in different ways depending on the skin conditions being "clean" or "contaminated." Experiments show that coarse textures generate less friction than fine under the clean conditions. Under contaminated conditions however coarse textures generate more friction than fine. The highest coefficient offriction 1-1=2.22 (SO=1.12) was recorded under dynamic conditions for a clean hand on a non-textured surface when the surface pressure was low - 6.3 kPa (SO 2.1). The lowest coefficient offriction 1-1=0.05 (SO=0.03) was found under static conditions, with lard present on a non-textured surface when the surface pressure was high - 81.4 kPa (SO=31.0). Two regression models were developed. Regression coefficients are presented for surface topography variables as well as skin condition and contamination, velocity surface pressure and discomfort. Two new surface topography representations explain the generation of friction forces. The uppermost 5% of the volume of texture peaks provided significant information for transfer offriction forces.

Abstract:

Denna studie undersöker hur mikroföretag inom second hand använder sociala nätverket Facebook för att interagera med kunder och öka sin kundkrets. Den undersöker även vilka funktioner som e-handeln skulle kunna erbjuda second hand-butiker. Varför studien är viktig är för att om second hand-butiker driver en e-handel kan de ge fler personer möjligheten att handla second hand, och på så sätt få fler människor att spara på jordens resurser genom att handla med hjärtat istället för nyproducerat. Studien genomfördes med hjälp av ett flertal intervjuer med second hand-butiker, en kundenkät och observationer på ett socialt nätverk och dess funktioner. Resultatet visade att det är bilder som används mest för att interagera med kunder på Facebook, det låter kunder se det aktuella sortimentet samt att nya kunder kan se vad butiken erbjuder innan sitt besök. E-handeln kan erbjuda second hand-butiker en större omsättning och kunder runt om i landet till och med utomlands. Resultatet sammanställdes sedan och det gjordes en tematisk analys. Studiens slutsats är att en e-handelsverksamhet för mikroföretag som säljer begagnade saker är möjlig om det är enkelt att starta och driva. Utifrån studiens resultat skulle en e-handelsverksamhet på ett socialt nätverk i framtiden för mikroföretag vara tidssparande. Vårt designförslag för mikroföretag med en begränsad ekonomi och tidsbrist är att de ska kunna driva marknadsföring, kommunikation och e-handel på ett och samma ställe.
This paper presents a study about how second hand micro enterprises are using Facebook to interact with their customers and to increase their clientele. The study also examines what benefits e-commerce may offer second hand companies. Why this study is significant is if second hand companies would operate an e-commerce it could make more people interested in second hand, and by that make more people shop second hand and help save the earth’s resources. The study was accomplished with several interviews with some second hand shops, one customer survey and observations on a social network and its functions. The result shows that images is the thing the companies uses most to interact with their customers on Facebook, the images lets the customers see the current range the store has and it also allow new customers to get the information they need before a visit to the real store. E-commerce can offer second hand shops bigger sales, when reached out for customers around the country and even abroad. The result was later complied and was put in an tematic analysis. The study’s conclusion is that an e-commerce on a social network can be time saving for micro enterprises. Our design proposal is for micro enterprises with lack of time and limited economy to manage marketing, communication and e-commerce all in one place.

The field of virtual reality (VR) is getting increasing attention from the scientific community and it is being portrayed by advertisements as the user interface (UI) of the future. This is a fair statement since the prior uses of VR that used to exist only in fiction movies and books are now widely available in many forms and settings to the public. One of the most interesting outcomes from this technological evolution is that now VR can be experienced through the use of a mobile phone and the addition of some inexpensive means typically in a form of a headset. The combination of the phone’s screen as attached to the headset creates a form of Head Mounted Display (HMD) which can be utilized in order for the user to be immersed within a virtual environment (VE). The argument here is that even if the means to get access to VR are cheap, this should not be the case with the experience as well. On the contrary, the low entry requirements in combination with a high quality experience are the basis for the medium's success and further adoption by the users. More specifically, the capability of utilizing a three dimensional space (3D) should not limit the medium’s use on just that but instead, this space should be used in order to offer immersive environments which make the user feel as if he is there. There are many factors that contribute to that result and significant progress has been made to some such as the quality of screen or other hardware parts that allow the user get immersed into the virtual scenery, however, little progress has been made towards the conceptual means that allow the user of better experiencing this VE. Most of the VR applications so far are specifically designed for a single user session. This creates an isolation of the user from any other type of communities which further increases the stigma of VR being a solitary experience. Another issue is the interaction method that is available to users in order to interact with the VE. The use of buttons in most of the available headsets is a counter intuitive method for a person to interact with an environment that wants to be called real. The technological advancements in the field of image processing have resulted in many new methods of interaction and multimodal manipulation within VE and it would be worthy of exploring their effects on the user experience (UX) when used as an interaction method. For these reasons, this thesis used the case of VR games as a setting to study how UX can be enhanced from its current state by introducing a bare hand gesture interaction method and expanding the VR setting in order to host two users in shared VE. Two individual studies were conducted where user feedback was collected in order to describe the effects of this approach in both a qualitative and quantitative manner. As results indicate, by utilizing gesture analysis on a headset equipped with a smartphone, it is possible to offer a natural and engaging solution for VR interaction capable of rich UXs while maintaining a low entry level for the end users. Finally, the addition of another player significantly affected the experience by influencing the emotional state of the participants in the game and further enforcing their feeling of presence within the VE.

Human hand transplantation became a medical reality at the turn of the 2 1st century. Often hailed by media and the general public as miraculous, these life-changing surgeries are also highly controversial. Many doctors, ethicists, and medical professionals feel the benefits of having a hand transplant do not outweigh the risks of the immunosuppressive drugs required to keep the complex foreign tissues alive on the bodies of chronically disabled yet otherwise healthy people. Patients' reactions to having the operation, to the drugs, to the physical therapy, and to the psychological consequences of wearing the hand of a dead person range from grateful acceptance to disgust and requested reamputation. This thesis explores the struggles and triumphs of human hand transplants through the stories of several patients and doctors. The rise of hand transplantation as a field, including the ongoing controversy surrounding the first successful human hand transplant, is also related as insight into how doctors and patients in innovative medicine make decisions, and where hand transplantation stands as a technology to benefit both medicine and scientific research.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka och få kunskap om elevers upplevelse av sin situation på en skola som bedriver ART- programmet och arbetar för integrering av ART i övrig undervisning och verksamhet.(ART - Aggression Replacement Training) Vi har även forskat i hur lärarna på den specifika skolan upplever situationen för eleverna i såväl skolgång som socialt samt hur lärarna arbetar med ART. Vi har använt oss av en kvalitativ undersökningsmetod där intervjuer med sammanlagt sju informanter ligger som grund för vårt forskningsresultat. Till vår kvalitativa undersökning kopplar vi bland annat teorin om fenomenologi, vilken utgår från en strävan att åsidosätta vår tidigare empiri och genom det få möjlighet att gripa tag i den subjektiva erfarenheten hos informanten. Vi vill också lyfta fram begreppet kontextualism, det vill säga att vi har en vilja att undersöka individer i det sammanhang de befinner sig i. Resultatet av intervjuerna med informanterna visar att lärarna anser att de ser en stor förändring hos elever som placeras på den specifika skola vi undersökt samt vilka genomgått eller genomgår ART: s program. De menar att efter genomgånget program visar eleverna prov på mognad och utveckling vilket resulterar i en positiv förändring i både skolarbetet samt i den sociala situationen. De ser en fördel med att ha ART integrerad i övrig verksamhet förutom de lektioner som är avsedda för programmet. Eleverna upplevde även de en förändring i sin livssituation sedan de börjat på den specifika skolan och deltagit i ART-programmet. De ansåg att ART hjälpt dem att hantera sin aggressivitet och givit dem verktyg för att kunna handla annorlunda. De uttryckte att det som skiljde deras förra skola från den nya är att de på den nya skolan får det stöd de behöver, till exempel genom ART:s metoder och strategier, samt att det finns fler pedagoger per elev och att klasserna är mindre. Följden av detta är att eleverna upplevde att deras koncentration ökade vilket resulterat i att skolgången blivit förbättrad. Slutsatsen av undersökningen är att ART integrerat i en skolverksamhet kan stödja aggressiva elever i att bryta sitt beteende. Vidare är slutsatsen att lärare och elever som ingår i en verksamhet med ART integrerad upplever skolsituationen som mer hållbar och positivt utvecklande än då eleverna ingick i en skolverksamhet utan ART eller där ART inte var integrerad i övrig verksamhet och i bemötande av eleverna.

Därefter producerades skisser som visades för en testgrupp, för att samla feedback. Fysiska tester utfördes, innan det slutgiltiga konceptet nåtts: En vagn man kan använda på fyra sätt. Man kan skjuta den framför sig medan man går, eller dra den efter sig, man kan använda den som sparkcykel eller man kan koppla den till en cykel.

Yan Ken Roll surge de la sinergia de las palabras “Yan ken Po”, siendo un nombre original y único, sobre todo una marca peruana. Este pack de Hand Roll tendrá los ingredientes básicos son el pollo, el arroz y las verduras. Será distribuida de forma únicamente por delivery, principalmente al distrito de San Miguel y aledaños. Finalmente, determinamos que nuestro hand roll está orientada al público en general, sin embargo, nuestro público objetivo está representado por personas quienes buscan algo rápido al paso y nutritivo, que les permita mantener un estilo de vida saludable y a la vez poder satisfacer su alimentación. Vi har i denna uppsats diskuterat och belyst hur den optimala vägledningen skulle kunna se ut. Anledningen till detta är att vi planerar att starta ett eget företag inom vägledning och vi har genom detta examensarbete lagt grunden till en affärsidé kring hur vårt företag i framtiden kan arbeta med studie- och yrkesvägledning. Detta har vi gjort genom intervjuer med studie- och yrkesvägledare på Infoteket och Malmö högskola samt intervjuer med sökande som varit och besökt dessa verksamheter. Vi har kommit fram till att varken Malmö högskola eller Infoteket bedriver det som vi efter denna uppsats anser vara den optimala vägledningen. Verksamheterna har inte någon möjlighet att individanpassa vägledningen på ett sådant sätt att vi kallar det optimalt, de väljer ibland att inte klargöra ramar och samtalsinnehåll för de sökande dessutom känner de sökande ibland att de inte satt igång någon process överhuvudtaget när de gått därifrån. Utifrån detta arbete har vi insett att det krävs en hel del för att kunna erbjuda den optimala vägledningen. Det allra viktigaste, och kanske svåraste, som vi kommit fram till är att vägledningen alltid måste individanpassas. Det som är optimal vägledning för en sökande är inte den optimala för en annan. För att kunna individanpassa samtalen har vi kommit fram till att det krävs flexibilitet, resurser m.m. Detta för att kunna skapa ett forum där det finns möjlighet att anpassa miljön, samtalsklimatet och vägledningsprocessen till varje individ. Vi vill dock tillägga att det viktigaste av allt är att den optimala vägledningen ska utgå ifrån att den sökande känner sig nöjd och fått den hjälp som han eller hon var ute efter.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur klädesaffärer kan skapa en mer positiv syn på second hand kläder bland konsumenter. Undersökningen utfördes genom att använda Tricomponent Attitude modellen och erkända strategier för attitydförändring. Tricomponent Attitude modellen utgörs av den kognitiva, affektiva samt konativa delen medan attitydstrategierna utgörs av tillvägagångssätt för att förändra attityden. En kvantitativ enkätundersökning utfördes och sändes ut till respondenterna med hjälp utav sociala nätverk och forum. Totalt samlades 343 svar in. Det visade sig att konsumentens inställning till second hand kläder mestadels utgjordes av den kognitiva delen av Tricomponent Attitude modellen, men att det samtidigt existerade ett klart samspel mellan modellens tre delar. Dock fick alla strategier till attitydförändring svaga resultat och skulle på så vis inte påverka konsumenterna att köpa mer second hand kläder. Den huvudsakliga upptäckten var att klädesaffärerna inte har en tillräckligt stark position för att påverka konsumenternas inställning till second hand kläder men att konsumentens positiva uppfattning om second hand kläder visar att förutsättningarna för en ökad konsumtion finns.

Abstract:

This report presents my bachelor thesis performed at the Department of Applied Physics and Electronics at UmeåUniversity. The Digital Media Lab was the assigner, supervising and assisting me during the project. A simple and smart system to verify a person’s identity using hand geometry as a biometrical identity is developed. The system should tolerate some deviation in hand placement and will not use pins or pegs. A complete system, hardware and software, is delivered. A webcam based hand-scanner is constructed and designed to operate on a PC utilizing Matlab for image processing.
Denna rapport beskriver mitt examensarbete utfört vid institutionen för Tillämpad Fysik och Elektronik vid Umeå Universitet. Uppdragsgivare var Digital Media Lab som har stöttat och assisterat mig under hela projektet. Målet med projektet var att utveckla ett system som ska verifiera en persons identitet genom att använda handens geometri som en biometrisk identitet. Systemet skall tolerera några avvikelser i handplaceringar och kommer inte att använda stift eller pinnar. Systemet består även av olika bildbehandlingsmetoder programmerade i Matlab. Systemet är byggt för att fungera på en PC.
