Abstract:
Our attention was recently drawn to a problem of homonymy with Villiersia d’Orbigny, 1837, a nudibranch genus, posed by Villiersia Omodeo, 1987, an oligochaete genus of the family Haplotaxidae described from the Segea cave near Kindia, Guinea (Omodeo 1987). Examination of this case of homonymy has revived an old nomenclatural issue that dates back to 1958 when several taxa of the family Haplotaxidae were first proposed in a work on the oligochaete fauna of Mount Nimba (West Africa) (Omodeo 1958). A re-examination of the nomenclatural history of these taxa shows that subsequent nomenclatural in

Abstract:
A combination of classical and computer-aided methods suggests that the Haplotaxidae can now be divided into several genera. Alphadrilus nov.gen. is monotypic for Alphadrilus smithii n.comb. Delaya nov.gen. contains D. bureschi, D. leruthi, D. corbarensis, D. cantabronensis, and D. navarrensis, all n.comb. Adenodrilus is retained for A. denticulatus, Heterochaetella for H. glandularis, and Villiersia for V. guanivora. The new genus Hologynus nov.gen. is erected for H. ornamentus and H. hologynus and its probable synonyms. Haplotaxis is retained for the gordioides-like species with specialized

Abstract:
Fourteen taxa in three families are noted from regions of South America. Monopylephorus moleti (Tubificidae) and Haplotaxis aedeochaeta (Haplotaxidae) are new to science, while Potamothrix bavaricus (Tubificidae) and Phreodrilus lacustris (Phreodrilidae) are new records for the continent. The tubificids Isochaetides lacustris, Epirodrilus antipodum, and Paranadrilus descolei are redescribed. The report for Rhyacodrilus palustris from South Georgia is shown to be erroneous and should refer to Rhyacodrilus coccineus. The list of known species from the area is reviewed and some anatomical feature

In this paper, we present the results of the first survey for aquatic oligochaetes in Lake Çıldır, northeastern Turkey, during which 22 oligochaete species were recorded from the lake. The results of this survey were integrated into an updated and annotated list of oligochaetes and other aquatic annelids occurring in the country, summarized from historical and recent publications. Currently, the freshwater annelid fauna of Turkey includes 150 species of oligochaetes (1 Crassiclitellata, 21 Enchytraeidae, 1 Propappidae, 1 Haplotaxidae, 4 Lumbriculidae, 56 Naidinae, 64 Tubificinae, 2 Lumbricidae
