Abstract:
The paper explores the significance of the Chinese concept of harmony (he, xiehe) for establishing a stable and efficient global governance. The author assumes that to meet demands of the emerging global community this concept should be assessed in the context of two other important notions: “commonality” (yong) and “similarity” or “sharing” (tong). The merging of these concepts has been a real basis of the Chinese tradition and it can serve as a foundation of a new global order based on the principle of synergy.

Abstract:
Although their value-judgments diverge, neo-Confucian and American continental philosophers agree that Gadamer’s hermeneutics is anti-foundationalist. Neither side, however, has asked why he frequently appeals to standards of harmony, or why he models the art of medicine on the order of nature. These indicate a commitment to trans-historical foundation of One and many that forms the basis for comparisons with Chinese aesthetics in the Yijing tradition. These foundations are grounded in Gadamer’s reading of Plato and shape his onto-dialogical interpretive method. In contrast to Whitehead, Gadamer cements the One and many in practical life by removing the contradiction through a transformation in human ethos.

Abstract:
Harmony is one of the concepts that permeate the history of human creation in varied fields: philosophy, arts, music, science, economics, politics, etc. It is a preoccupation of the Pythagorean, of Plato and Aristotle, and a governing principle theorised during the times of the Byzantine Empire. However, in Cicero’s political thinking, harmony is the foundation stone of the organisation and functioning of the republic as body politic, a political principle which reflects the principle of the entire universe. Somnium Scipionis (The Dream of Scipio), an allegory on the harmony of the universe, is the closing part of the treatise De re publica, by which Cicero, inspired by Plato and synthetizing stoic, epicurean and neoplatonic ideas, bestows his political testament upon world culture and advocates the cultivation of virtue.

Abstract:
The study of the dynamic behaviour of non-uniform thickness circular plate resting on elastic foundations is very imperative in designing structural systems. This present research investigates the free vibration analysis of varying density and non-uniform thickness isotropic circular plates resting on Winkler and Pasternak foundations. The governing differential equation is analysed using the Galerkin method of weighted residuals. Linear and nonlinear case is considered, the surface radial and circumferential stresses are also determined. Thereafter, the accuracy and consistency of the analytical solutions obtained are ascertained by comparing the existing results available in pieces of literature and confirmed to be in a good harmony. Also, it is observed that very accurate results can be obtained with few computations. Issues relating to the singularity of circular plate governing equations are handled with ease. The analytical solutions obtained are used to determine the influence of elastic foundations, homogeneity and thickness variation on the dynamic behaviour of the circular plate, the effect of vibration on a free surface of the foundation as well as the influence of radial and circumferential stress on mode shapes of the circular plate considered. From the results, it is observed that a maximum of 8.1% percentage difference is obtained with the solutions obtained from other analytical methods. Furthermore, increasing the elastic foundation parameter increases the natural frequency. Extrema modal displacement occurs due to radial and circumferential stress. Natural frequency increases as the thickness of the circular plate increases, Conversely, a decrease in natural frequency is observed as the density varies. It is envisioned that; the present study will contribute to the existing knowledge of the classical theory of vibration.

Abstract:
This essay is an invitation to consider the possibilities of dancing as a process of education and human development. The intention of this theoretical work is to bring some foundations about how human development may benefit from dancing as a reference for constructing parameters based on affectivity and the search for existential self-realization. With this ambition, we explore the notions of human development, corporeity, affectivity, interaction, playfulness, arts and dancing. The primary foundation is the Theoretical System of Affectfulness and the respective concepts of Affectfulness and Psychic Cell. Further, we dialogue with other authors in order to expand the discussion. We support dancing as an artistic expression with the potential to extend individual’s perception, balance and sensitivity. If experienced as an activity connected with the sense of harmony that gives us existential pleasure, i.e. if the dancers experience corporeity while willing to connect to the implicit needs of their bodies towards a rhythmic harmony, dancing may lead to discovery of the unfragmented essence of being, in consonance with nature and the universe. This is owed to the potential of dancing to outline affective-emotional parameters that may serve as models to be generalized to other interactional situations, contributing to nourishing a cycle of more positive and pleasant interactions.

Abstract:
Hormones are messenger molecules that distribute across all tissues and thus operate on the whole-organism level. Moreover, a given hormone typically affects a number of different biological processes. As such, hormones coordinate concerted cooperation between the cells and tissues of an organism, a phenomenon that has been termed ‘organismal harmony’. Furthermore, a concept that has recently been gaining traction is that hormones mediate or represent life history trade-offs, which are ultimately moulded by evolutionary pressures. Here, this concept is extended to include all ‘decisions’ or ‘choices’ that are made at the organismal level. A formal framework is sketched to explore the proposition that organismal biology, together with the ‘fitness landscape’, suffices in principle to determine minimalistic dynamics of the endocrine system.

Abstract:
Poverty is a risk to harmony, which results in the dismissal of human rights. Microfinance is a tool that is famous across the world as a solution to alleviate poverty. Through this tool, lowincome households can have permanent access to a range of high-quality and affordable financial services that are offered by a range of retail providers. Community-based organizations, commonly known as "CBO", play a vital role in providing microfinance to the needy group of people, which determined the relationship between microfinance and poverty alleviation. This research presents a comparative study between Akhuwat Foundation and Kashf Foundation microfinance models for providing housing finance to low-income groups. A qualitative approach has been applied to determine the relationship between microfinance and poverty alleviation. In-depth interviews are conducted with working staff and borrowers of Akhuwat Foundation and Kashf Foundation (microfinance organizations). The research concludes that both organizations strive to alleviate poverty and to enhance the living standard of low-income people through mutual support in the system. The study also suggests that these organizations should need to emphasize more on the diversified needs of the poor people and must aim to serve the most extremely poor strata of the population.

Abstract:
AbstractExplorations of communion in the New Testament most frequently start with examination of the use of the koinonia word group. This paper provides a sketch of the history of such examination, including the most recent comprehensive study by N. Baumert, in order to highlight the disputed central issue about the meaning of koinonia and to expose major problems in approaching the topic of communion through a word study of koinonia. More positively, the main part of the paper attempts to address the question that studies of koinonia in Paul are presumably seeking to answer, namely, what do Paul's letters have to say about communal life among Christian believers? To that end, there follows an analysis of the ethos of communion as presented by Paul in Romans and in Philippians, with attention given to how Paul endeavours to establish and maintain harmony in the community in the midst of diverse and sometimes conflicting convictions about the gospel that he proclaimed. Some of the distinctive features of communion shaped by Paul's gospel are then summarized in conclusion.

Abstract:
This article is an examination of the theological foundation that lies at the core of the expression of Israelite piety; that is, the foundational and defining characteristic reflexes in Israelite religious experience of human access to Yahweh. The article is rightfully anchored on the premise that individuals and communities have the privilege of access to Yahweh. However, Psalm 15 presents certain ethical preconditions of continuous experience of access and intimacy with Yahweh. These ethical preconditions constitute Israel’s practice of pilgrimage with Yahweh, a practice that witness to the passionately penetrating symbolism of the requirements of a consistency of life direction. Psalm 15 insists that those who approach Yahweh for divine help or worship may do so having their internal and external condition in harmony with Yahweh. They must do so from hearts and lives of integrity. This article thus focuses on the context, content and concludes by reflecting on the ethical implications of Psalm 15 for both individual and corporate experience of worship.

Abstract:
Despite their laudable intent, extraterritorial legal initiatives to promote corporate sustainability development have not been well received in practice, and are often seen as a window-dressing exercise. This article aims to conduct a conceptual and doctrinal analysis, offering a theoretical foundation that interprets corporate extraterritorial legislative attempts as legitimate in the context of globalisation, using the lens of “the commons” and “the common good”. We try to link the values and dimensions of “the commons” to the goals of corporate extraterritorial legislation, so that lawmaking attempts with extraterritorial reach will gain additional foundational support and achieve more effective and better controlled compliance. In particular, the article makes an original attempt to justify and develop a new notion, namely “the extraterritorial commons”. This notion is in harmony with, rather than contradicting, progressive legal attempts to address the mismatching and conflicting nature of the relationship between the traditional voluntarism of corporate extraterritorial responsibilities, particularly in relation to sustainability issues, and global trends towards more regulation in this area.

This article is to examine the way of harmony that is initiated in the Analects of Confucius, and further elaborated in the other three of the Four Books. It will argue that the Confucian harmony is a philosophy defining the relation between the self and the other and among the elements of the unity, that it is a way of living and behaving that leads to modesty and flexibility, and that it is a moral process starting from the self and reaching the Middle Way. It concludes that the way of harmony is not only theoretically important for Confucian philosophy but also practically significant for Chinese culture because it later became central to the doctrinal foundation on which all philosophical schools operated.

The foundation of harmony between the two religions rests on the sustainability of three harmony models, namely: First, interfaith prayer in the celebration of family or village level; Second, culture visits each other during feast days, when someone is sick, and the inter-food sharing as a form of connecting harmony. Third, practical model dialogue in the Selapanan forum that brings together two religious groups in order to discuss various issues of security and social development. Building an attitude of sympathy among followers of religion created with the participation of Christians in "<em>tahlilan</em>" activities, visiting each other in commemoration of religious holidays is another part of the forms of harmony they build together. Counteracting religious radicalism is another aspect of harmony that is built by the community with an awareness of the interrelationships of their recent lives with their ancestors.

This article discusses the mathematical foundations of al - Farabi music, and suggests the main actions of arithmetic operations with Farabi relations to obtain musical intervals. Farabi drew attention to some problems for the study of musical art. This article provides an extensive understanding of how the three main problems are needed to get the ratio. Musical intervals have different values. You can divide them, multiply them, and listen to them. In music theory, you need to be familiar with the mathematical foundations for working with ratios, as well as arithmetic operations like multiplication, division, and addition. Farabi not only gives a scientific idea of the ratio of sounds, but also reveals the mathematical foundations of the emergence of harmony and musical melodies.

For this article the author focuses on the vertical dimensions of this issue, providing a "harmonic dialects" model that accounts for variants in chordal membership of stable sonorities, and an outline of psychoacoustic phenomena that affect how various piano voicings are interpreted as stable or unstable in different contexts.

Social conflict that has occurred in the District of Sigi cannot be separated from the withering of social values that have become the foundation of society so far in the same group, culture, ethnic group, religion, and social values. This similarity does not guarantee that people can live in peace and harmony. Therefore, communication is needed to spread Islamic values to community in order that social conflict between people of villages in Sigi can be avoided. This in turn can lead to building peace and social integration based on Islamic values.

Abstract:
Much recent international relations scholarship has argued that states are unable to control e-commerce, so that private actors are coming to play a dominant role. However, this body of literature fails to account for emerging “hybrid institutions,” in which states create general frameworks of rules, which are then implemented by private actors. This article examines a prominent example of such an institution, the EU-U.S. Safe Harbor arrangement in the field of privacy, and sets out an alternative explanation of state–private actor relations in the sphere of e-commerce. It shows how Safe Harbor had its origins in efforts by the European Union (EU) and United States to mitigate problems of interdependence that threatened to undermine the principles of order on which their regulatory systems were based. Safe Harbor reflects neither the EU nor U.S. approach, but rather a novel blend of state and private regulation. The article demonstrates the vital role of argument and persuasion in identifying Safe Harbor as a solution, and in negotiating its particulars. It finds that conventional game-theoretic accounts of bargaining are unable to explain the negotiation of Safe Harbor, and argues that constructivist approaches should pay more attention to how argument can disclose new possibilities of action.

Abstract:
Building religious harmony is the duty and responsibility of all Indonesian people. Church is an essential part of Indonesian society which is also obliged to develop religious harmony. Answering the question of how the church should behave and act in a pluralistic society is to offer the teaching concept of the mindset of Christ. As it is contained in Philippians 2: 5, the church has to serve as the foundation of religious harmony. The mindset of Christ in question is the act of Christ who does not defend his rights, the act of Christ who willingly becomes the same as an ordinary man and the act of Christ who takes the form of a slave and acts like a slave who cares for the interests of his master. This study utilizes technical data analysis with a descriptive-interpretive model, which is to elaborate the focus of the study by parsing and re-interpreting it in a certain context. In this case the text described is Philippians 2: 5 using the hermeneutic method as a scalpel and then interpreted in the context of religious harmony in Indonesia.

Purpose One’s standpoint and consequent research paradigm impacts how we conduct research, including study design, analyses interpretation and dissemination of results. In 2017, the authors began PhD, studying the potential barriers to aftercare treatment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children aged under 16 who had sustained a burn injury in one of five major hospitals in Australia. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach As Aboriginal PhD students, the authors are conducting research using Aboriginal ontology as a framework, which is based on a holistic framework with interconnectedness, person-centred care and Aboriginal ways of knowing as the foundation. The framework has been shaped by the first author’s knowing, being and doing, and the authors’ worldview has informed and shaped the standpoint and the way the research has been developed and conducted. Findings It was important for the authors to have a connectedness to each aspect of the research and to each individual person that shared their story: this was paramount to the ways of being. Originality/value This connectedness stems from growing up on the authors’ country and learning from elders, from the connection to all entities living around, within and with the authors. The Indigenous research methodology was used throughout the study, including yarning and Dadirri, a way of deep listening and learning, as the basis for interviewing.

Many modern forms of yoga can be located in the holistic milieu. Discourses of health and wellbeing for mind, body and soul are central in the holistic milieu. Ideas about food and diet are frequently significant aspects of this therapeutic discourse. This paper focuses on ideas about food and diet in the Art of Living Foundation (AOL), a modern transnational yoga movement. AOL legitimises its beliefs about food through an appeal to concepts found in traditional texts on yoga and āyurveda. In particular, the concept of sattva, which can be translated as balance or harmony—both significant tropes in the holistic milieu—is central to discourses about food choices in AOL and other writers in the holistic milieu.

Abstract:
The coastal city of Bejaia, located 250 kilometers east of the capital Algiers, Algeria, is characterized by soft soils. The residual grounds encountered on the first 40 meters usually have a low bearing capacity, high compressibility, insufficient strength, and subject to the risk of liquefaction. These unfavorable soil conditions require deep foundations or soil improvement. Since late 1990s, stone columns technique is used to improve the weak soils of the harbor area of the city. A shallow raft foundation on soft soil improved by stone columns was designed for a heavy storage steel silo and two towers. The improvement of 18m depth have not reached the substratum located at 39m depth. The stresses transmitted to the service limit state are variable 73 to 376 kPa. A rigorous and ongoing monitoring of the evolution of loads in the silo and settlements of the soil was carried out during 1400 days that is from the construction of foundations in 2008 to 2012. After the loading of the silo in 2010, settlement occurred affecting the stability of the towers due to excessive differential settlements. Consequently, the towers were inclined and damaged the transporter. This paper presents and discusses the experience feedback of the behavior of these structures. Numerical calculations by finite elements have been carried and the results are compared with the measurements.

Abstract:
Si Ganjua Lalai dance work is a picture of Minangkabau women who besides having strength also has tenderness. Si Ganjua Lalai is an expression for the Minangkabau girl who portrays the Minangkabau female personality who is gentle yet firm, wise and acts upon the truth. Si Ganjua Lalai dance work originated from visual stimuli that is when getting information from the story of Kaba Sabai Nan Aluih in the form of the saying “alua tataruang patah tigo, Samuik tapijak indak mati ”. From the saying goes that Minang women in addition to having strength also has a tenderness. The foundation of creation used is creativity and choreography. Creativity approach is used because the creation of art cannot be separated from the process of thinking and working creatively. Through this approach the way of thinking and how to work creatively will be built. The second approach is choreography, which is used as a foundation in creating aesthetic dance that includes gestures, composition, unity and harmony, as well as other aspects of behavior and visual.

Abstract:
The Muslims of Bangladesh are separated into diverse religious, political, and social groups. Several scholars tried to unite Muslims. One of the most significant Islamic intellectuals of Bangladesh, Sheikh Azizur Rahman Nesarabadi, proposed a paradigm of religious harmony to unite the Bangladeshi people and global nations. According to him, religious harmony with the doctrine of Ittihad Ma’al al-Ikhtelaf (Unity in Diversity) is the only key answer to the current disunity at the national, international, and global levels. This study examines his concept and his role in the society and politics of Bangladesh by textual analysis of primary and secondary data. After analyzing religious harmony itself, we deliver a brief biography of Sheikh Azizur Rahman, presenting his contribution to both Sharia and Sufi education, and their effects on his vision. The study then emphasizes his thoughts on four steps of religious harmony and analyses in light of current social realities in Bangladesh and the Muslim world. This paper concludes that Sheikh Nesarabadi’s thought and theory on religious harmony depend upon three foundations: common good interest, moderation, mutual respect, and the Tawhidic model. These contain the structure for religious harmony of Muslim unity whose implementation by Muslims can achieve the command of Allah to empower the Ummah to continue a leading role in the world as a Khalifah of Allah SWT almighty.

Abstract:
The Republic of Indonesia is characterized by ethnic and religious diversity. Islam is the most widespread religion in Indonesia and most of the Indonesian population is Muslim. Indonesian society is based on the principles of religious tolerance. The equality of people is the most important socio-political value of the Indonesian society, which guarantees an equality for allpeople, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or social class. Religion can be the foundation that can strengthen the country and become the foundation for development. At the same time, religion may not be the official state ideology. We study the relationship between religion and state in Indonesia. What problems arise in the relationship between religion and the state? This study aims to find out how Islam and politics in Indonesia are in harmony with the ideology of the Indonesian nation and how religious values can support moral foundations of Indonesian politics. We used analyze secondary sociological data and studied researches of the largest Indonesian academics on the problems of the relationship between religion and politics. We used the method of library research with abstracting and collecting data. A new set of scientific sources in the Indonesian language is being introduced into scientific circulation. The results of the study showed that Indonesia is not a democracy based on the principles of democratic processes of Western Europe. The peculiarity of Indonesia lies in the interaction of religious values and the politics. Indonesian politics is characterized by religious tolerance. At the same time, religious and cultural values are incorporated into the political practices of Indonesia in the form of moral and ethical guidelines. Thus, Indonesia is not a religious or secular country, but a country where religious values are the moral and ethical main ideology of state development.

Abstract:
The paper is aiming to answer such questions, where does the development of a new common European identity stand, which countries or regions show stronger or weaker European identification inside the EU, how this has changed over the past decades in the process of enlargement of Europe, what could be the value content of the new common identity, and how this will affect to the traditional national attachment and identity. More narrowly, the question is what changes have happened in Hungary in the public attitudes to Europe since the mid-90s and does the process of accession has an effect or not on the traditional Hungarian national identity. The empirical foundation of our study is the international comparative empirical research series of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), in the years 1995 and 2003 aiming to reconstruct the stock of knowledge of national and European identities in the member states. This study uses temporal and spatial comparison to consider national connectedness and the characteristics of European identity in various countries across Europe. Based on this data in our paper we make an effort to explore what characterizes national identity in Europe, how people see foreigners and domestic minorities, whether we can identify the development of a transnational or supranational identity that goes beyond national identity, and if there is a new frame of identification for people in Europe, what extent we can expect increasing conflicts in the relation of the two types of identity.

A three-story underground structure shaking table test had been carried on to study the earthquake damage mechanism of underground structure in layered foundation. The test model was similar to typical subway station according to a certain similarity ratio, and the soils were disturbed sandy soil and silty clay dug from the site of Harbin subway. Shaking table tests to this typical model in silty clay and alternating layers of clay and sand were performed to reveal the effect of different layered soils. Results show that the sandy soil layer can reduce the damage of the soil and underground structure, the damage of underground structure is mainly controlled by displacement of the surrounding soil, and the response of shallow buried underground structure is larger than deep buried.
