ABSTRACT The observed time delays between photons with different circular polarizations from an astrophysical object provide a new, interesting way of testing the Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP). In this paper, we constrain the EEP by considering both Shapiro time delay and Faraday rotation effects. We continue to search for astronomical sources that are suitable for testing the EEP accuracy, and obtain 60 extragalactic radio sources with multiwavelength polarization angles in three different radio bands (20, 8.6, and 4.8 GHz) and 29 brightest stars within our own Milky Way galaxy with mu

Abstract This study focused on an explosive cyclone migrating along the southern periphery of the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension in the middle of January 2013 and examined how those warm currents played an active role in the rapid development of the cyclone using a high-resolution coupled atmosphere–ocean regional model. The evolutions of surface fronts of the simulated cyclone resemble the Shapiro–Keyser model. At the time of the maximum deepening rate, strong mesoscale diabatic heating areas appear over the bent-back front and the warm front east of the cyclone center. Diabatic heating over the

SUMMARY Objectives: To characterize the chemical interactions and analyze the interface of adhesive systems containing 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP) and N-methacryloyl glycine (methacrylamide) functional monomers with the dentin in noncarious cervical lesions (NCCLs) compared with artificial defects (ADs). Methods and Materials: Twenty human teeth with natural NCCLs on the buccal surface were used. Class V cavities, similar to NCCLs, were created on the lingual surface to serve as controls. Teeth were randomly allocated to two groups according to the functional monomer

Methodology. The study of the works of the new generation of Ukrainian artists, which was completely formed after 1991, is just beginning. In particular, it refers to Liudmyla Bruievych, one of the most famous contemporary domestic graphic artists. The vast majority of publications about her works are popular and belong more to the genre of essay or interview (Bychkova (2000), Ivanochka (2012), Taran (

Abstract Controlling the temporal and spectral properties of light is crucial for many applications. Current state-of-the-art techniques for shaping the time- and/or frequency-domain field of an optical waveform are based on amplitude and phase linear spectral filtering of a broadband laser pulse, e.g., using a programmable pulse shaper. A well-known fundamental constraint of these techniques is that they can be hardly scaled to offer a frequency resolution better than a few GHz. Here, we report an approach for user-defined optical field spectral shaping using a simple scheme based on a freque

We used a data set comprising 1,149 fully sequenced individuals from the German population, subsetting the SNPs to approximate the Illumina I

Introduction This paper offers a survey of familiar popular music performers and songwriters who reference coffee in their work. It examines three areas of discourse: the psychoactive effects of caffeine, coffee and courtship rituals, and the politics of coffee consumption. I claim that coffee carries a cultural and musicological significance comparable to that of the chemical stimulants and consumer goods more readily associated with popular music. Songs about coffee may not be as potent as those featuring drugs and alcohol (Primack; Schapiro), or as common as those referencing commodities li
