Abstract:
A growing body of literature presenting the results of research regarding text book illustrations indicates that visual gender bias is obvious in several acade mic fields, including business communication. To date, however, no study has extended those observations to clip art files in popular computer programs. The current study examines over 14,000 clip art images for gender bias from six different Windows-based programs: WordPerfect Presentations, PowerPoint 4.0, Microsoft Publisher 2.0, Harvard Graphics 3.0, Power Up!, and Corel 3.0, CD-ROM. Tabulations indicate that only 4.54% of total images depict women and that they are typically presented in stereotypical roles, such as secretaries, nurses, teachers. Reasons include a male bias in the computer science field (a 3:1 ratio in programming), apparent gender-based differences in relationships with machines, and a societal gap in traruitioning between old and new media.

Abstract:
The name of the graphics card is a form of information devices and laptop computers are very important at this time, in addition to its functions very preferred in almost all circles of computer devices, this one could not be further from his partner a processor, no graphics card then the processor will not indicate it functions optimally. Call it one of the brand famous, i.e. graphics card AMD (Advanced Micro Device). But the naming of the given graphics card AMD passing drivers still less clear and accurate, due to the developer who manages the Division drivers AMD is still lazy graphics card product name change one by one each brand, therefore then the author would mak e engineering change name AMD Radeon graphics cardusing Notepad on a windows operating system 10, so with this user or users of the AMD Radeon graphics card will be able to understand more deeply why this graphics card name is not appropriate.

Abstract:
We define a new model of complexity, called object complexity, for measuring the performance of hidden-surface removal algorithms. This model is more appropriate for predicting the performance of these algorithms on current graphics rendering systems than the standard measure of scene complexity used in computational geometry. We also consider the problem of determining the set of visible windows in scenes consisting of n axis-parallel windows in ℝ3. We present an algorithm that runs in optimal Θ(n log n) time. The algorithm solves in the object complexity model the same problem that Bern3 addressed in the scene complexity model.

Abstract:
In the visualization of nonlinear dynamic systems with computer, we construct the planar symmetry dynamic systems with truncated trigonometric series by Clifford A.Reiters method of constructing crystallographic groups. To analyze the characteristics of the iteration mapping with truncated trigonometric series. It used the operation of matrix product as tool. To construct dynamic systems of the nonlinear function with truncated trigonometric series. We construct two planar dynamic systems with truncated trigonometric series. Monte Carlo method is used to search the parameter vectors in the parameter space. The Lyapunov exponent is used to judge the characteristics of dynamical systems. We construct chaotic graphics in the cyclic windows. We present a method to construct symmetry dynamical systems which can be used to generate square plane tiling. A great of chaotic attractors in the fundamental regions can be continuously tiled without gaps in the plane. Furthermore, we can provide a plenty of material with a novel and unique structure for the decorative patterns of the buildings.

Abstract:
The random number generator (RNG) is indispensable to modern cryptography since cryptographic services make use of random numbers for deriving encryption keys or nonces in protocols for secure communication. Operating systems like Linux and Windows provide built-in random number generators which can be accessed by cryptographic modules and other processes. If the system fails to collect sufficient entropy from the operating environment, the output from the RNG is blocked or becomes less secure. In this paper, we propose a method providing sufficient entropy to RNGs using graphics processing units. By estimating run-time of the kernel function in GPU, we can gather noisy data with bias. After the distillation process, we obtain a binary sequence for entropy input to the deterministic part of RNG. Our scheme was implemented on the computing environments using NVIDIA’s GPU GTX 580 and GTX 610M.

Abstract:
A scalable Graphics User Interface Architecture for open Computer Numerical Control (GUIAC) application is presented in this paper. The GUIAC is based on Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) design pattern. The WPF and MVVM pattern are used to decouple the User Interface (UI) presentation and business logic. This method makes the CNC application UI presentation design and the CNC application logic implementation work in parallel for improving the development and maintenance efficiency. Using the extensible application markup language can reduce the UI presentation design workload. The GUIAC has a loosely coupled structure with three layers. The experiment results of developing the CNC application using GUIAC show that the application graphics user interface is scalable and maintained easily.

Abstract:
SSD-3, the third version of the NIST Surface Structure Database, appeared in 1999 as a major update. A complete revision of the database and graphics software upgrades SSD to a Windows environment (MS Windows 95, 98 and NT). SSD-3 includes over 1100 structures published through the end of 1997. SSD is an interactive PC-based database of critically selected surface structures determined with a variety of experimental techniques. The data include not only atomic coordinates, bond lengths and bond angles, but also information about experimental preparation, measurement and analysis methods. The software provides advanced search and display facilities, as well as interactive three-dimensional color visualization and analysis tools of great flexibility. In addition, the program can generate publication-quality color or gray-scale prints of any structure, with a host of user-selectable options (such as view angle, perspective, colors, ball and bond styles, and labels).

Abstract:
Video games are typically executed on Windows platforms with DirectX API and require high performance CPUs and graphics hardware. For pervasive gaming in various environments like at home, hotels, or internet cafes, it is beneficial to run games also on mobile devices and modest performance CE devices avoiding the necessity of placing a noisy workstation in the living room or costly computers/consoles in each room of a hotel. This paper presents a new cross-platform approach for distributed 3D gaming in wired/wireless local networks. We introduce the novel system architecture and protocols used to transfer the game graphics data across the network to end devices. Simultaneous execution of video games on a central server and a novel streaming approach of the 3D graphics output to multiple end devices enable the access of games on low cost set top boxes and handheld devices that natively lack the power of executing a game with high-quality graphical output.

The sheer volume of information, 15 books and over 1,500 graphics, contained in CSC's corporate system development methodology, Catalyst,sm has created a need to have this information on-line. On-line access, it was felt, would dramatically impact productivity. To help support users and facilitate the use of Catalyst, the Microsoft (MS) help system, in conjunction with RoboHELPTM, was used to put Catalyst online in a hypertext format. Incorporating feedback and usability concerns was key in determining how its more than 20,000 users could best utilize this product. The design evolved over several months and in its final form also extended the limited functionality of the MS help system, providing a more robust product. This paper discusses the challenges surrounding the design of a large windows help system, approximately 53 MB in size (33 MB when fully compressed). The lessons learned can form the basis for creating an effective help system development process for meeting users' needs.

Abstract:
A program,MASSHA, for three-dimensional rendering and rigid-body refinement is presented. The program allows display and manipulation of high-resolution atomic structures and low-resolution models represented as smooth envelopes or ensembles of beads.MASSHAis coupled with a computational module to align structural models of different nature and resolution automatically. The main feature is the possibility for rigid-body refinement of the quaternary structure of macromolecular complexes. If high- or low-resolution models of individual subunits are available, the complex can be constructed on the computer display and refined to fit the experimental solution scattering data.MASSHAprovides both interactive and automated refinement modes to position subunits in a heterodimeric complex (general case) and in a homodimeric complex with a twofold symmetry axis. Examples of application of the program (running on IBM PC compatible machines under Windows 9x/NT/2000) are given.
