Harvesting and dewatering can account for up to 30% of the overall cost of production of usable microalgae biomass for the biotechnology and bioenergy sectors. Harvesting is particularly challenging due to the small amount of algal biomass produced relative to water volume. This process exacts high energy and cost demands and therefore limits further expansion in the microalgae biomass industry. Foam fractionation has potential to deliver a low cost, low energy harvesting solution.

This work is dedicated to principles of energy harvesting or scavenging from free energy around us. Energy harvesting principles are described in the first part. Following chapter is devoted to description of piezoelectricity and piezoelectric materials. Next part researches already reported results on piezoelectric energy harvesters. Following chapter shows simulations on designed structures in ANSYS® Workbench. Next the fabrication of the structures is described. Measurement are made regarding to maximum generated power.

Abstract:
Energy harvesting is a promising and evolving field of research capable of supplying power to systems in a broad range of applications. In particular, the ability to gather energy directly from the environment without human intervention makes energy harvesting an excellent option for powering autonomous sensors in remote or hazardous locations. This dissertation examines the possibility of using energy harvesting in new and innovative ways to power wireless sensor nodes placed in the substructures of highway bridges for structural health monitoring. Estimates for power requirements are establ

At the rate in which India population is increasing, it is said that India will surely replace China from its number 1 position of most densely populated country of the world after 20-30. These will lead to high rate of consumption of most valuable natural resource „Water‟ resulting in augmentation of pressures on the permitted freshwater resources. Ancient method of damming river and transporting water to urban area has its own issues of eternal troubles of social and political. Abstract:
Shrimp harvesting techniques playa major role in the efficient and profitable operation of traditional shrimp farms. It is a labour intensive operation. However, there is a paucity of information of harvesting techniques in the traditional sector of shrimp culture in India. Problems are encountered in harvesting cultured shrimps especially in the farms, which are not fully drainable. Various harvesting techniques such as sluice net operation, cast netting, gill netting, complete draining of the farms and hand picking are deployed at different stages to harvest the shrimp from the farms.
