Abstract:
Dans cette thèse, l'accent est mis essentiellement sur l'influence de la pensée et de la littérature françaises sur l'art romanesque et l'esprit critique de l'écrivain égyptien Mohammad Hussayn Haykal, précurseur du roman arabe moderne au début du XXe siècle. En effet c'est grâce aux orientations de ses maîtres à penser que Haykal a passé plus de trois ans en France pour obtenir le doctorat en droit. Depuis, il s'adonne à la littérature et la pensée françaises (voir l'appendice). Ansi, Zaynab, son premier roman est le fruit de la lecture de Rousseau, Zola et Bourget. C'est un chef d'oeuvre qui reflète les tendances romantiques et naturalistes françaises. On trouve beaucoup de ressemblances à travers des comparaisons entre Zaynab et la Nouvelle Héloi͏̈se de Rousseau. L'interprétation des thèmes, et éléments des deux tendances réaliste et naturaliste franç̀aises est clairement identifiable dans chaque roman, conte ou nouvelle de Haykal. Aussi on a procédé à l'approfondissement de l'étude contrastive des oeuvres romanesques de Haykal et celles des écrivains français qui l'avaient profondément marqué : Rousseau, Flaubert, Anatole France, Taine, Zola etc. .<br>In this thesis, the research has focused on the influence of the French literature and thought on the art of the novel and criticism of the Egyptian writer Mohammad Husayn Haykal. He has been to France where he spent more than three years to obtain a PHD in law. But Haykal showed complete interest in the French literature and culture. Zaynab, his first novel was obviously written under the auspices of French romanticism. It is the fruit of the reading of Rousseau, Bourget and Zola. It reflects the French romanticist and naturalist trends. Many resemblances and analogies have been thoroughly found through comparison between Zaynab and La nouvelle Héloi͏̈se of Rousseau as well as between Haykal's Waladi (my son) and Les confessions of Rousseau. Themes and elements of the French realism and naturalism are clearly identifiable in each novel, fiction and short stories of Haykal. Comparative studies are continously conducted everywhere in the research on the romanticist novel works of Haykal along with those of the French novelists who had clear impact on his art of narration and thinking : Rousseau, Flaubert, Anatole France, A. Comte, Taine and Zola. .

La description se manifeste dans le roman zaynah sous deux formes essentielles : le portrait et le chronotope. La methode d'analyse est de caractere stylistique en ce sens qu'elle cherche a delimiter les faits linguistique specifiques au discours descriptif, a les classer et a envisager leur valeur stylistique ainsi que leur fonction par rpport a l'ensemble de l'oeuvre. Cette etude montre que la description peut etre identifiee sur les plans semantique, typographique et linguistique. Elle est denombrable et reflete le point de vue du descripteur. Elle met en oeuvre un langage specifique. Sa specificite apparait notamment dans l'usage du vocabulaire, du temps grammatical et des faits de style<br>The novel zaynah provides two basic forms of description : characters portrayal and spatictemporal representation. The aims of our work, a stylistic attempt, is not only to classify and to define the scope of the linguistic features typical of the descriptive discourse - but to study their stylistic value and their functional role in the novel as a whole, as well. This work proves that while the descriptive mode can be identified at three levels: namely, semantics, typography, and linguistics, it is quantitatively listed, too. Generally, the descriptive discourse mirrors the viewpoint of the describer, creating a specific language which brings into play an original handling of vocabulary, tense, and stylistic figures

Abstract:
Heikal est une journaliste egyptien qui a commence sa carriere dans les annees 40 dans de grands journaux du caire, de tendances politiques differentes. Cette activite lui a rapidement permis de penetrer les cercles de pouvoirs politiques egyptiens et, avec l'arrivee de nasser en 1952, de participer activement au regime revolutionnaire. Cette eriode lui a permis en tant que redacteur en chef du journal al ahram d'etre le porte-parole semi officiel du regime de nasser. Sa fidelite a nasser reste intacte jusqu'a la mort de ce dernier en 1970 avec sadate, heikal a dirige la campagne electorale du futur president. Mais, avec l'expulsion des experts sovietiques en 1972, et surtout les options de sadate sur le probleme de la paix avec israel depuis la guerre de 1973, en passant par la visite de sadate a jerusalem en 1977, leurs relations se deteriorent definitivement. Heikal devient tres critique a l'egard de sadate et de sa politique. Ces differentes positions fit d'heikal un homme controverse. Il a ete accuse a la fois d'etre un agent de la cia, et un agent des sovietiques. Notre objectif a ete dans ce travail de montrer si heikal a ete fidele a nasser en tant que chef d'etat, ou fidele a une idee, un ideal supreme, celui de "socialisme arabe".

This thesis presents a comparative study of two modern Muslim biographers of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad Husayn Haykal and Sayyid Ja$ rm sp{c}$far Murtada, the one a Sunni the other a Shispc$ = i. In dealing with their works on the { it s = i ra}, the intention is to focus on some aspects of the life of the Prophet of Islam from the time when he resided in Makka. After outlining the authors' scholarly backgrounds, sources, methods, and purposes, etc., the thesis deals with certain specific issues concerning the Prophet's birth, his nursing and the reason behind the custom of having foster-mothers, the controversial stories of the splitting of his chest and of his participation in the sacrilegious war, his state both before and after the announcement to him of his Mission, the authors' interpretations of his night journey and ascent to heaven and lastly their discussion about the Prophet and miracles. This research should not be considered as historical in nature; rather, it aims at clarifying the similarities and differences which may be discovered between our two biographers, and at comparing their respective Sunn = i and Sh = i$spc$ = i approaches.

Abstract:
This study is centred around the thoughts and contributions of three Egyptian Udaba namely, Taha Husayn (d. 1973), Muhammad Husayn Haykal (d. 1956), and 'Abbas Mahmud al-'Aqqad (d. 1964). The significance of their writings lies partly in the critical period in which they appeared, which was a period of religious, spiritual and national crisis. On the religious side, it was not confined to Egypt, but covered the whole Islamic world for it was the period in which the Ottoman Caliphate was abolished. With the collapse of Islamic political power, the Christian missionary thrust tried to penetrate the core of Islamic belief itself by portraying Islam as a necessary obstacle to progress. For this purpose, several attacks were simultaneously engineered. One was directed against the Arabic language which was described as unfit for modern usage. Its replacement by spoken dialects would have meant creating a delinkage between language and the Qur'an, relegating the Qur'an to the position of a liturgical and ritualistic document that interests only a few scholars and religious specialists. Another attack was directed against Arabic literature casting doubts on its content and value for modern generations with new thoughts, ideas and aspirations. A more powerful attack was directed against the Prophet Muhammad, and his companions and immediate successors. The Udaba' took up the challenge by upholding the Arabic language, expounding the true facts of the Prophet's life, and by introducing new styles of literature which derive from the Islamic fountainhead, and using styles attractive to modern readers. Among other things, the thesis shows how the Udaba's contributions in this respect were instrumental in blunting the attacks of missionaries, and incidentally, in pre-empting the attacks of Marxism which assumed dangerous proportions after World War II. Their assertion of the dignity of Islam and of the unquestionable Islamic identity of Egypt and of the great potentials of the Arabic language will remain as lasting contributions.

Abstract:
This thesis, which is an analytical study and annotation of the book entitled Al-libyan Jima Yahill wa-Yahrum min al-Haywan by Ibn al-`Imad al-Aqfahsi, is divided into two parts. The first part contains a study of the book and its author, while the second part contains the Arabic edition of the book. They are divided into two volumes. The first volume consists of an introduction, four chapters and two appendices. The introduction of the thesis highlights the reasons for the selection of this particular research. indicating that this kind of research has not been undertaken before, as far as the researcher knows. Moreover, the importance of this research for Muslims is highlighted since it gives the relevant injunctions on various kinds of meat that they can eat. The research offers a summary of what some Muslim scholars have written on the science of zoology as they understand it. It also examines the masons for their writing on the subject and the main features of their treatises and studies. Following that, the researcher tries to ascertain the correct name of the book Al-Tibyan and the authenticity of its reference to the author. It is ascertained that the actual name of the book is Al- Tibyan fima Yahill wa-Yahrum min al-Haywan. Then the date for the composition of the book is discussed. The methodology of this edition follows. In the second chapter the researcher studies the author, trying to ascertain his name, date of birth, upbringing, attributes and ethics. The views of other people on the author and his writings are also presented. The third chapter deals with the political, social, and intellectual ethos. The fourth chapter comprises a study of the biographies of people mentioned in the manuscript. Them are two appendices at the end of the thesis: the first is a glossary of ambiguous words used in the manuscript and the second is a verification of the places mentioned in the manuscript and study. In order to facilitate the reader for cross reference to the Arabic manuscript, the researcher has indicated the relevant page/ line number, where necessary, (e.g. 000/00) in chapters four and appendice only. Finally the bibliography and indexes conclude the thesis.

Through a study of Rooke's work on natural history and meteorology, and ancient and Roman Britain, the processes through which antiquarian and natural historical knowledges were negotiated and legitimised are highlighted. This includes how landscapes were interpreted and understood - how antiquarian and natural historical practice functioned as a form of engagement with place.

O objetivo deste trabalho é demonstrar e analisar o percurso narrativo no qual o diretor japonês Hayao Miyazaki apresenta a evolução de sua personagem principal, a menina Chihiro, no longa-metragem de animação A Viagem de Chihiro (2001). Este percurso apresenta-se em duas ambientações, os mundos primário e secundário, aqui chamados de mundo-aqui e outro-mundo. Serão historiados os filmes de Miyazaki produzidos no Studio Ghibli, com protagonistas femininas, e, especialmente, seus traços que remetem ao maravilhoso e ao fantástico, partindo-se previamente das definições destes termos dadas pelo crítico Tzvetan Todorov, seguidas por outras visões neste campo nos trabalhos das teóricas Irène Bessière e Maria Nikolajeva. Tendo essas definições em mente, será analisada a inserção do modo fantástico e das modalidades de interpretação nos filmes selecionados de maneira a presentar o trajeto do diretor rumo ao fantástico que resultou no longa-metragem A viagem de Chihiro. Para examinar o filme escolhido, utilizar-se-á um processo indutivo de análise do longa-metragem de animação sequência a sequência, tendo como ferramentas de análise principais os estudos sobre funções e esferas de ação desenvolvidas pelo folclorista russo Vladímir Propp na década de 1920, na obra Morfologia do conto maravilhoso. O acompanhamento do processo de maturação da heroína será observado através da evolução de algumas funções de Propp e da sua relação com outros personagens, pertencentes a outras esferas de ação proppianas. As sequências da animação, objetos desta observação, serão comparadas com o conceito de rito de passagem do antropólogo Arnold Van Geenep. Paralelamente, serão estudadas as fontes religiosas, mitológicas e folclóricas japonesas nas quais o diretor Hayao Miyazaki inspirou-se, por meio dos trabalhos das antropólogas Gergana Petkova, Birgit Staemmler e Carmen Blacker, da crítica literária Noriko Reider e do psicólogo Hayao Kaway. Espera-se, assim, observar as múltiplas leituras que se podem extrair da narrativa de A Viagem de Chihiro sem a necessidade de se ater a uma distinção reducionista de realidade ou fantasia, aproveitando as modalidades narrativas miméticas e simbólicas como os fatores que propiciam a movimentação entre as interpretações da obra, vendo seus aspectos paralelos de narrativa maravilhosa e fantástica.<br>This study aims at presenting and analyzing the narrative course by which Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki portrays the personal evolution of his main character – the girl Chihiro – in feature-length animation movie Spirited Away (2001). This course is presented in two environments: the primary and the secondary worlds, namely the here-world and the another-world. Miyazaki’s movies produced in Studio Ghibli – featuring females as main characters and, specially, containing marvelous and fantastic situations – will be described taking into account previously given definitions brought by critic Tzvetan Todorov, as well as other points of view on the subject as presented by theorists Irène Bessière and Maria Nikolajeva. Having these definitions in mind, the insertion of fantastic narrative and of interpretative modalities will be analyzed within the selected movies, in order to track the director’s path en route to the fantastic that ultimately resulted in the feature movie Spirited Away. In order to scanning the movie, a sequence by sequence inductive analysis process of the feature animation will take place, using the analysis tools described in Morphology of the Folktale – written in the 1920’s by Russian folklorist Vladímir Propp – about functions and spheres of action. The monitoring of the heroine maturation process will be observed through the evolution of some functions – described by Propp – and her relationship with other characters – which belongs to other Propp’s spheres of action. The sequences of the animation, subjected to observation, will be compared as per the concept of rite of passage given by anthropologist Arnold Van Geenep. At the same time, Japanese religious, mythological, and folk resources that inspired director Hayao Miyazaki will be studied, through the works of anthropologists Gervana Petkova, Birgit Staemmler, and Carmen Blacker; literary critic Noriko Reider; and psychologist Hayao Kaway. By doing so, it is expected to provide an overview of the multiple understandings that can be conveyed by the narrative of Spirited Away, without the need to be attached to a reductionist distinction of reality or fantasy – by taking advantage of mimetic and symbolic narrative modalities as transition points between the various interpretations of the movie, and considering the parallel aspects of marvelous and fantastic narratives.

Abstract:
The association between nostalgia, nature and disenchantment has been and still is a very common trope in cultural and literary studies (Saler 138) within the scope of modernity. In fact, it has almost become “a cliché of our time” (Saler 138) in which people often view modern experience as an oppressive status of disillusionment rather than a liberating condition of enlightenment. Since this thesis aims to open up and point at different dimensions of modernity and become “part of a grandiose modernist project yet to be finished” (Hu 23-4), I would like to use Miyazaki’s works to argue that modernity is never a simple, one-sided condition of being ‘disenchanted’ as proclaimed by many scholars. In order to pinpoint some of the contradictory impulsions and potentialities of the experience of modernity, this thesis would first start with a brief overview on the ideas of ‘disenchantment’ and ‘nostalgia’ and their relations to the experience of modernity. The second part would be a general introduction to Miyazaki’s anime, briefly introducing his works in terms of style, content, characterization and such. In particular, I would like to point out how Miyazaki’s works have created alter-tales about disenchanted modernity by showing the multiple facets of modern life and exploring the possibility to (re)enchant modern experiences through his childlike protagonists and the fantastical form of anime. Part three to five would be comprehensive textual analyses about Laputa: Castle in the Sky (1986), Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (1984) and Spirited Away (2001) respectively, examining their relationships with and responses to the ambivalent experiences of modernity. I uppsatsen behandlas två filmer av filmskaparen Hayao Miyazaki: Nausicaä från vindarnas dal och Prinsessan Mononoke. Uppsatsen börjar med en kort bakgrundsbeskrivning av Miyazaki för att sedan gå in på dennes tankar kring naturen, filmerna, framtiden och den värld som vi lever i idag. Därefter följer analyser av de två filmerna som innehåller handling, viktiga karaktärer, teman, motiv, budskap och diskussion. I denna del tar jag också upp det visuella i Nausicaä från Vindarnas dal och Prinsessan Mononoke. Jag tittar även på vad andra har sagt om filmerna och skriver om kraften i det visuella med utgångspunkt i artikeln The ecological and consumption themes of the films of Hayao Miyazaki av Kozo Mayumi, Barry D. Solomon och Jason Chang. Uppsatsen avslutas med en slutdiskussion.

Abstract:
Esta investigación busca encontrar el significado del símbolo del árbol en la filmografía de Hayao Miyazaki, renombrado director de animación japonés. Se plantea como hipótesis que el árbol simboliza la vida misma, fuerza y fuente de poder y familia a la vez para Miyazaki. Para esta tesis se ha decidido utilizar metodología cualitativa mixta: en primer lugar interpretar, bajo la luz de conceptos como el sintoísmo y mitología, el significado del árbol en tres películas de Miyazaki, y luego utilizar instrumentos cuantitativos para analizar el lenguaje audiovisual de sus películas. Abstract:
In the 1970's a major debate took place on the question of rule ordering in phonology. One group argued that the specific ordering of phonological rules, if needed at all, was always intrinsic, being predictable on the basis of universal principles. The second group, following in the tradition of Chomsky and Halle and the SOUND PATTERN OF ENGLISH, responded that these principles did not work, and that rule ordering is extrinsic, having to be stipulated in the phonologies of a number of languages. In the course of this debate, the proponents of extrinsic rule ordering sometimes argued that the analyses forced by the universal, intrinsic approach lacked insight, missed generalizations or simply did not work. Curiously, although positions were taken against extrinsic rule ordering and in favor of either simultaneous or random sequential ordering, no one to my knowledge argued in parallel fashion that the extrinsic approach lacked insight, missed generalizations, or simply did not work. In this paper I would like to present one such possible case. I shall attempt to demonstrate that in the lexical tonology of Haya, an Eastern Bantu language spoken in Tanzania, extrinsic rule ordering simply gets in the way. In section 1 I present the relevant tonal data, showing that a classical autosegmental analysis utilizing extrinsic rule ordering runs into serious problems. After showing, in section 2, that various alternative solutions involving rule ordering still fail to overcome these problems, I then consider in section 3 two possible analyses: one with simultaneous application of the three lexical tone rules in question, the other exploiting morphemic planes. I will conclude that this may be one language where simultaneous rule application is warranted. The data come from the lexical tonology of Haya, a subject that was covered in some detail in Hyman and Byarushengo (1984). For reasons of simplicity, I shall present only the underlying and lexical representations of Haya verb forms. It should be borne in mind that the forms cited in this study are subject to subsequent postlexical tone rules that are described in the Hyman and Byarushengo paper.

In this sense, this research has as general objective to identify the composition of the female representations and how the transgressive character of them is given. We adopt specific objectives: to understand how the anime genre emerged and to contextualize the course of Hayao Miyazaki as director of animation. Understand how Hayao Miyazaki are embedded in a context of production and media consumption, demonstrating negotiations between the director and the animation industry. Verify that his aesthetic is constructed, from the textual memory and analysis of the composition of the scenarios, characters, plot, costumes and other aspects. Analyze how make up the female representations in the works of Hayao Miyazaki and, finally, to verify how the female characters produce a representation of memory that subverts the memory of what we understand as a Japanese woman. For this, an analysis is made from a corpus of ten works scripted and directed by the director [Ponyo: A Friendship that Came of the Sea (2008), the Service of Deliveries of Kiki (1989), The Castle animated (2004), Princess Mononoke (1997), My Friend Totoro (1988), Porco Rosso: The Last Romantic Hero (1992), Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), Lives to the Wind (2013), The Journey of Chihiro (2001), The Castle in the Sky (1986)]. In order to highlight the female characters, formulating a methodological framework dividing them into six phases: children, girls, youth, adults, mothers and the elderly. Using the basilar pillars: consumption and communication; memory; women were bibliographical and documentary research, mobilizing authors such as Lotman, Le Goff, Halbwachs, Pollak, Canclini, Rocha, Martel, Miyazaki, Luyten, Barbosa Junior, Sato, Laurel, Hane, among others, with different theoretical contributions. The results demonstrate that the awakens, through his women and his hybrid aesthetics, a critical thinking in which one makes possible to question about aspects concretized by society and to think about the possibility of change and restart.<br>As narrativas fílmicas do diretor de animação japonês Hayao Miyazaki – tema da presente pesquisa – expõem algumas questões que envolvem a vida em sociedade ao questionar situações e estereótipos através da sua estética híbrida, e principalmente por meio das suas personagens femininas. Desta forma, tomamos como objeto teórico o consumo da estética híbrida – na qual se encontram as personagens femininas – e das camadas de memória aí implicadas. Nesse sentido, esta investigação tem como objetivo geral identificar a composição das representações femininas e como se dá o caráter transgressor das mesmas. Adotamos como objetivos específicos: compreender como surgiu o gênero animê e contextualizar o percurso de Hayao Miyazaki como diretor de animação. Entender de que forma as obras de Hayao Miyazaki estão inseridas em um contexto de produção e consumo midiático, demonstrando negociações feitas entre o diretor e indústria de animação. Verificar de que maneira é construída sua estética, a partir da memória textual e análise da composição dos cenários, das personagens, do enredo, do figurino e outros aspectos. Analisar como se compõem as representações femininas nas obras de Hayao Miyazaki e, por fim, verificar como as personagens femininas produzem uma representação de memória que subverte a memória do que entendemos como mulher japonesa. Para tal, é feita uma análise a partir de um corpus de dez obras roteirizadas e dirigidas pelo diretor [Ponyo: Uma Amizade que Veio do Mar (2008), O Serviço de Entregas da Kiki (1989), O Castelo Animado (2004), Princesa Mononoke (1997), Meu Amigo Totoro (1988), Porco Rosso: O Último Herói Romântico (1992), Nausicaä do Vale do Vento (1984), Vidas ao Vento (2013), A Viagem de Chihiro (2001), O Castelo no Céu (1986)]. De modo a destacar as personagens mulheres, formulando um quadro metodológico dividindo-as em seis fases: crianças, garotas, jovens, adultas, mães e idosas. Valendo-se dos pilares basilares: consumo e comunicação; memória; mulheres, foram adotadas pesquisas bibliográficas e documentais, mobilizando autores como Lotman, Le Goff, Halbwachs, Pollak, Canclini, Rocha, Martel, Miyazaki, Luyten, Barbosa Júnior, Sato, Louro, Hane, entre outros, com diferentes aportes teóricos. Os resultados demonstram que o diretor desperta, através de suas mulheres e sua estética híbrida, um pensamento crítico no qual se faz possível questionarmos a respeito de aspectos concretizados pela sociedade e pensarmos na possibilidade de mudanças e recomeço.

Magíster en Estudios Internacionales<br>Este estudio caracteriza la relación Chile-Perú desde la teoría del conflicto, identificando las dimensiones que componen la relación bilateral. Se plantea que la relación Chile-Perú ha oscilado entre disconformidades y tensiones en las diversas dimensiones que la componen, siendo la demanda interpuesta por Perú ante La Haya sólo una expresión más de esta relación conflictiva. Asimismo, busca evitar los tres errores de la teoría del conflicto: concebir negativamente al mismo, realizar análisis estáticos y generar reflexiones unidimensionales. Por ello, se diferencian los elementos que componen la estructura, la coyuntura y los eventos. Los elementos estructurales identificados son: la importancia otorgada a las fronteras para ejercer el poder durante la Colonia e Independencia en América Latina; la relación amigo-enemigo desde la Guerra del Pacífico y su impacto en la conformación de la identidad social de Chile y Perú; y los Tratados Internacionales vigentes relacionados con delimitación marítima. Entre los eventos, se identifican dos de diferente orden: i) eventos que se producen por acciones a nivel estatal y ii) eventos que se producen por acciones de privados con repercusiones a nivel estatal. Isso porque as imagens atribuídas a ambos eram de atrasado x avançado como o pseudo antagonismo entre mito e logos. No entanto, a falência do discurso cartesiano de verdade, como narrativa organizadora do cenário contemporâneo, abre espaço para uma nova abordagem do mito como parte atuante na leitura do mundo. Nesta tese nos propomos a utilizar a recuperação do mito através da metáfora ainda presente no discurso filosófico feita por Hans Blumenberg, e fazer um paralelo com a recuperação da metáfora feita por Paul Ricoeur para um approach entre oriente e ocidente pelo viés da literatura midiatizada que identificamos na obra do renomado diretor japonês de animação Hayao Miyazaki.<br>For a long time the words used to refer to East and West were exotic, civilized, archaic or developed. That s because the images assigned to both were backward vs. advanced as well as the pseudo antagonism between myth and logos. However, the failure of the Cartesian discourse of truth as a structuring ordering narrative of the contemporary world opens a door to a new approach to myth as an active part in the reading of the world. This thesis proposes to use the restoration of the myth through metaphor as in Hans Blumberg s philosophical work and to form a parallel with Paul Ricouer s restoration of the metaphor, employing this method as an approach between East and West to delve into the work based on the literary world of renowned Japanese animation director Hayao Miyazaki.

I denna undersökning vill jag visa att film har ett egenvärde som berättarform separat från skönlitteraturen, där särskilt japansk animerad film är ett område som tidigare marginaliserats inom filmteorin men bör ges ett större akademiskt utrymme. Med hjälp av de fem filmanalytiska aspekterna berättelse, mise-en-scène, kameraanvändning, klippning, ljud och filmmusik undersöker jag hur regissören Hayao Miyazaki konstruerar den japanska animerade parallellvärlden i filmen Spirited Away samt hur det animerade mediet påverkar filmen. Min analys visar att publikens inlevelse i parallellvärlden skapas genom en otillgänglig narration där kamerans låga vinklar och point-of-view-shots gestaltar världen ur huvudpersonens vinkel. Parallellvärlden kommer till liv genom en detaljerad traditionell japansk scenografi, runda karaktärer och en rik diegetisk ljudbild. Den långsamma klippningen bjuder in publiken att bli medskapare av parallellvärlden och musiken skapar en känslomässig inlevelse samt fungerar som en sammanknytande väv genom filmen. Den animerade formen möjliggör en större frihet i animatörernas skapande av filmens mise-en-scène, samt bidrar till en större tolerans hos publiken för det irrationella intuitiva händelseförloppet och en delvis överdriven ljudbild.

Traditional stylistic classifications have not provided conclusive dates for the rock art of the Sahara, and the imagery can therefore not be placed securely in its cultural or environmental context. This thesis proposes a new methodology in which content and patina of the engravings are used to establish a chronological sequence, against the background of changing palaeoenvironmental conditions. This framework can then be used to explore aspects of the relationship between the rock art and the changing Holocene landscape. The engravings of the Wadi al‐Hayat, which were recently recorded by the Fezzan Rock Art Project, form the basis of this research. A total of 2466 images of animals were individually analysed and entered into a database. The depicted species are shown to reflect the local fauna, and their habitats coincide with the palaeoclimatic conditions of the central Sahara. Additionally, recent geomorphological analyses of the rock surfaces of the Messak provide a chronology for the patina, and show that the formation of each type of patina was dependent on environmental conditions. Through analyses of the animal engravings, categorised according to positively identifiable species and patina types, this thesis demonstrates a direct correlation between the content (i.e. species depicted) and patina of the engravings, and the palaeoenvironment. Both content and patina of the engravings indicate a development from wet savanna to dry savanna, and finally to desert conditions, consistent with the Holocene climatic sequence. This provides a chronological framework for the engravings and places them into a palaeoenvironmental context. The locations of the engravings of each patina group also correspond to the changing lake levels of the al‐Hayat palaeolake identified in previous palaeoenvironmental research projects, which in turn supports the chronology of the engravings. Through spatial analyses, the locations and landscapes preferred by the engravers for the creation of rock art can be identified, whilst the new chronological sequence allows us to explore changes in the cultural conventions that underlie the creation of the engravings. As well as providing a chronological framework and environmental context for the engravings for the Wadi al‐Hayat, the research presented in this thesis therefore has the potential to change our understanding of Saharan rock art.

Abstract:
Las cerámicas de carburo de silicio biomórfico (bio-SiC) pertenecen a una nueva clase de materiales producidos a partir de recursos naturales renovables (madera o productos derivados de ella). Éstas, conjugan las ventajas funcionales dadas por la estructura celular porosa de la madera precursora, con las propiedades de las cerámicas. La tecnólogia expuesta en el presente trabajo, permite obtener este tipo de cerámicas a bajo costo y de manera ecológica. El objetivo general de este trabajo fue estudiar la factibilidad de obtener SiC biomórfico a partir de madera de haya como precursor, mediante un proceso diseñado e implementado para tal efecto, a partir de estudios internacionales ya realizados. El proceso de obtención de bio-SiC implementado consta de 4 etapas principales: elección y preparación de la madera, pirólisis, infiltración y reducción carbotermal. En primer lugar, se eligió madera de haya como precursor y se fabricaron probetas de forma cilíndrica. Luego, se calentaron las probetas en ausencia de oxígeno, así fue descompuesta la estructura orgánica de las preformas de madera para obtener preformas de carbón. Finalmente, las preformas de carbón fueron infiltradas con Si fundido y calentadas a 1600 [_C] por 2 horas. Una vez enfriadas, las probetas así obtenidas fueron sometidas a análisis de difracción de rayos X y microscopía SEM, para determinar las fases presentes y su morfología respectivamente; y a pruebas para determinar las propiedades térmicas y eléctricas. Los resultados permiten concluir el bio-SiC obtenido está constituido principalmente por una fase cristalina de βSiC y Si remanente. Las pruebas de conductividad eléctrica y térmica, indican que el material cerámico obtenido posee propiedades funcionales comparables con las cerámicas tradicionales de ingeniería. Por lo tanto, es factible sintetizar βSiC a partir de madera de haya mediante el proceso implementado. Proceso más simple, en comparación a los procesos tradicionales de obtención de SiC.

Abstract:
Japanese anime is 'one of the most explosive forms of visual culture to emerge at the crossroads of transnational cultural production' (Brown, 2006:1). This study proposes that anime is framed in a different wayfrom orthodox Hollywood cel animation (Wells,1998), influenced by Japanese aesthetics, iconography, social norms and a well developed role for individual anime directors. The significance of anime as a novel form of animation is specifically linked to a broader alignment within Japanese cultural identity. The study benefits from previous research by Thomas Lamarre (2009) who proposed the concept of the 'animetic process' and Hiroki Azuma's (2009) post-modernist discourse on 'otaku' (anime fans). Close reading analyses of selected feature films in the anime canon directed by Hayao Miyazaki (1941-), Satoshi Kon (1963-2010) and Mamoru Oshii (1951-) were conducted, to determine the significance (defined as sharing a common meaning and value) of anime within contemporary discourses on animation. The study concludes that anime represents a continuation of Japanese film tradition which has frequently borrowed from other film cultures, notably Hollywood, but then subverted this influence through a specifically Japanese gaze. Evidence for anime being regarded as novel in terms of the development of film tradition was found in relation to its adoption of digital trans-modality and interactivity to become a mediated cinematic form which breaks new ground. The dialogue between the anime director as the creative force and the viewer as the active consumer has wider implication for this hypothesis that modern anime is emerging as an interesting and important filmic form in digital environments.

Memoria (licenciado en ciencias jurídicas y sociales)<br>No autorizada por el autor para ser publicada a texto completo<br>El objetivo de la presente memoria es entregar al lector una visión comparativa de la normativa existente en materia de adopción internacional, entre los estados español y chileno, tomando como marco central la Convención de la haya de 1993, relativo a la protección del niño y a la cooperación en materia de adopción internacional. Para esto, he realizado un examen exhaustivo de la normativa general vigente, pero así también de la normativa autonómica que rige en las diferentes Comunidades Autónomas del Estado Español. Así también, se hace un estudio de los principios rectores en materia de adopción que informan, de manera transversal, tanto la normativa internacional como la de los diferentes estados que han ido ratificando dicha Convención y que con posterioridad han reformado su normativa interna. Se hace un estudio profundo sobre las Entidades Colaboradoras de Adopción Internacional que han pasado a tomar un rol preponderante en los procedimientos de adopción internacional, por lo que su conocimiento, creación, y su rol, no es superfluo dentro de la esfera de este trabajo. Además la Convención de la Haya de 1993, las trata específicamente en su texto. Hacia el final de esta memoria encontraremos lo concerniente a las políticas públicas que ha acogido España en materia de adopción internacional, para lo cual hemos considerado los diferentes tratados bilaterales que ha formado España con diferentes Estados, con el fin de hacer el procedimiento de adopción internacional, más expedito, transparente y adecuado a la normativa internacional. Para terminar he realizado una exposición crítica de la situación de la adopción internacional en Chile y de la posibilidad de que podamos contar con estos tratados bilaterales internacionales con nuestros aliados en materia de adopción. El método que he utilizado para realizar este trabajo ha sido de estudio de normativa, análisis de las mismas y comparación, así como también una investigación intensiva de los diferentes textos relativos a la materia, y de estadísticas que he podido acopiar, tanto de los organismos centrales chilenos como españoles. De este modo, podemos encontrar una breve explicación histórica de la institución, para luego pasar al estudio de las Entidades Colaboradoras y terminar con el examen normativo en detalle. Finalizando con el resumen de este trabajo podemos señalar que el resultado del mismo es bastante auspicioso, desde el punto de vista, que se ha logrado llegar a una comparación completa de la aplicación de la Convención de la haya de 1993 con la legislación interna, tanto de Chile como España. Así también, podremos ver cómo la legislación interna de los diferentes Estados se ha ido acomodando a dicha Convención, lo que nos entrega un resultado inmediato y conducente de la legislación internacional a la legislación interna. Veremos que podemos lograr una visión crítica sobre la institución de la adopción internacional, pero sin dejar de lado los logros que se han alcanzado con el compromiso de los diferentes Estados en la protección del fin último que son los menores. Por último, creo que no podemos dejar de mencionar la idea que presento como es la posibilidad de que Chile cuente con un tratado bilateral de adopción internacional, idea que se expone hacia el final de este trabajo.

Lsao Takahata et Hayao Miyazaki se sont rendus célèbres pour leurs dessins animés, alliant une haute qualité formelle à une approche singulière du genre. À destination prioritairement enfantine, le dessin animé de long métrage, dont Walt Disney a posé les bases dès les années 30, se consacre au conte et au merveilleux, assume d'emblée une forme d'irréalité. La question du réalisme, incongrue au demeurant, est l'un des principaux enjeux esthétiques développés par les deux cinéastes japonais, plus proches de Paul Grimault que du modèle classique américain. La recherche d'une expression réaliste de l'espace et du temps, en animation, a nourri leur travail depuis leur rencontre à Tōei dans les années 60, jusqu'à la fondation de Ghibli dans les années 80. Définir et défendre la valeur du réalisme en dessin animé est l'ambition de cette thèse. Hals, prince du soleil de Takahata constitue l'avènement d'une forme de modernité en dessin animé. L'espace filmique paraît exister pour lui-même, indépendamment de faire l'objet d'un spectacle. Tout ne s'offre pas idéalement en direction du spectateur, pour son meilleur confort de vision, comme il en va du modèle classique. Derrière l'apparence d'un retour à l'évasion et à l'aventure, Miyazaki insère une part de matérialité, de temporalité quotidienne, contrastant avec des contextes imaginaires ou enchanteurs. Mon voisin Toloro, construit sur l'irruption d'un certain "naturel dans le merveilleux", est l'aboutissement d'une poésie de l'insolite - originalité fondamentale de son cinéma. Ces deux artistes démontrent que, paradoxalement, le dessin animé a besoin d'un rapport étroit au réel pour exprimer pleinement ses potentialités<br>Isao Takahata and Hayao Miyazaki achieved fame with their cartoon films by combining high formal quality with an uncommon approach to the genre. Intended mainly for children, the full length cartoon film, for which Walt Disney established the basis as far back as the 1930's, is dedicated to story tale and wonder and naturally takes on a form of unreality. The question of realism, although incongruous, is one of the principal aesthetic concerns developed by the two japanese film-makers, who are closer to Paul Grimault than to the classic american model. The pursuit of a realistic expression of space and time in animation has nourished their work, since their encounter at Toei during the 1960's and until the founding of Ghibli during the 1980's. The aime of this thesis is to define and defend the value of realism in cartoon films. Hols, sun prince (Little Norse prince valiant) of Takahata represents the succession of a modern form of cartoon film. The cinematic space seems to exist for itself, irrespective of being part of a show, everything is not aimed in the spectators direction, ideally offering the greatest comfort for vision, as with the classical model. Behind the facade of an escapism and adventure comeback, Miyazaki introduces an element of materiality and of everyday temporality which contrasts with the enchanting or imaginary context. My neighbour Totoror, built on the irruption of a certain "real life in a fantastic element", is the outcome of a poetic strangeness - the fundamental originality of his cinema. Notre analyse porte sur la prose futuriste de 3 femmes ayant appartenues à l’avant-garde futuriste italienne : Enif Robert : Enif Angelini (1886-1974), Rosa Rosà : Edyth Von Haynau (1884-1978) et Benedetta Cappa Marinetti (1897-1977). Notre objectif vise à approfondir l’étude du genre littéraire pratiqué par ces femmes : le roman. Leur production romanesque couvre le Premier et le Second Futurisme. Notre démarche critique s’est articulée autour de 3 axes de recherche qui puisent aux sources de la narratologie, de la sémiologie, de la critique des genres, de la critique thématique, de la réflexion sur le langage. L’analyse des romans nous a permis d’en dégager les spécificités et de les comparer aux préceptes futuristes. Le but était d’analyser les constantes et les évolutions/transgressions par rapport aux conventions romanesques en général et par rapport au futurisme. 2 aspects : la 1ère hypothèse de travail s’articule autour d’une approche structurale des textes à examiner et nous a conduits à nous interroger sur l’existence et la mise en place du roman futuriste ; bref de montrer ses caractéristiques et les innovations (structure, langage, thème) que les romancières à l’étude apportent au futurisme et à la notion d’œuvre littéraire. La 2ème hypothèse de recherche se développe autour de la spécificité poétique des œuvres du corpus : une étude analytique afin d’en dégager les thématiques principales et de les comparer aux thématiques futuristes. Nous avons montré comment dans ces romans le sujet futuriste et la réalité futuriste sont présentés partant du principe que la littérature constitue un moyen de représentation de la réalité à travers le prisme de l’imaginaire de l’auteur. L’enjeu de notre propos ne consiste pas à axer notre analyse sur la différence sexuelle ni à démontrer une spécificité féminine de l’écriture. Elle se penche sur la spécificité poétique des œuvres singulières qui ont apporté un éclairage nouveau, innovant sur le futurisme et sur sa révolution futuriste du langage<br>This study analyses the futurist prose of three women who cooperated with the Italian futurist avant-garde: Enif Robert alias Enif Angelini (1886-1974), Rosa Rosà alias Edyth Von Haynau (1884-1978) and Benedetta Cappa Marinetti (1897-1977). We want to prove that if futurist novel really exists: in the facts it exists through the works of our writers but the criticism didn’t study them for a long time. The most important production of futurist novel appeared around the 1916 and 1925 with the “romanzo erotico-sociale” so we can examine the first and the second futurism. We remarked how much women were integrated in the avant-garde creativity. The study uses the tools of narratology, semiology, gender’s criticism, thematic, and language’s reflection. We remarked the particularities of the Italian women’s novels and compared it to futurist’s precepts. The target was to show the similarities and the evolutions/transgressions with the conventions of the novel and the futurist novel. Two aspects: on one hand we questioned the structure of the text and proved the existence of futurist novel: characters and innovations (structure, language, argument) that women writers broke to the futurism and to the notion of literary. On the other hand, we tried to examine the poetic specificities of the corpus: principal thematic and compared it with the futurist thematic. We tried to note how futurist subject and reality were presented through the writer imaginary in the novels. The target of the study did not want to show a sexual difference or prove a feminist specificity of the novels. It tried to prove that these novels gave a new vision, an innovated vision of the futurism and the futurist revolution of language
