Abstract:
ObjectiveWaterpipe tobacco (WPT; hookah) use is common in pregnant and reproductive-age women. Sweet flavours contribute to the appeal of WPT and are a potential regulatory target. This study investigated use, preferences and perceptions of WPT flavours in pregnant WPT users, and the impact of flavour preferences on preconception/prenatal WPT use and exposure biomarkers.Methods58 pregnant WPT users (mean age=27 years) completed a detailed interview regarding their WPT flavours use, preferences and perceptions. Biomarkers of nicotine and carcinogen exposure (eg, cotinine, benzene, butadiene) were also collected.Results55% of participants were dual/poly WPT users (ie, reported use of one or more other tobacco products in addition to WPT). Pregnant WPT users reported nearly exclusive use of flavoured WPT, with greater use of menthol/mint (68%) followed by fruit flavours (48%) (p<0.001), and greater preferences for fruit followed by menthol/mint flavours (ps<0.05). Harm perceptions did not differ among flavours. Compared with dual/poly WPT users, WPT-only users reported more total WPT use events, greater use of and preference for menthol/mint flavoured WPT (ps<0.001), and decreased exposure biomarkers (ps≤0.040). Preference for menthol/mint and fruit flavours predicted more flavoured WPT use events during preconception and pregnancy; preference for menthol/mint predicted detectable cotinine and benzene levels but not butadiene.ConclusionsThis is the first study of WPT flavour use, preferences and perceptions in pregnant women. Use of and preference for menthol/mint and fruit WPT flavours in this vulnerable population could be considered in regulating WPT flavours to protect the health of women and children.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The retail fashion industry is growing rapidly in Indonesia, currently dominated by international fashion brands, followed by local designers and local fashion brands. There is very tight competition in the industry. Indonesian’s local brands have to create collections with good brand images to be able to compete and attract Indonesian consumers. The consumers appreciate local products, which have good quality design, styles, fabrics and competitive prices with positive brand images that make them feel confident wearing them. To be able to compete with the international fashion brands, it is very important for a local fashion brand to fulfill those expectations. This paper was conducted by choosing one of the middle class local fashion brands in Jakarta, called Mint. Mint products have been sold in Indonesia since 2002, from 15 boutiques and more than 200 locations such as department stores. In 2007, Mint got a recognition certificate from Business Indonesia magazine as an ‘Indonesian Original Product’ (Product Asli Indonesia 2007). Mint targets professional, urbane women between 20 and 35 years old. This paper is to determine factors of the decision of Mint’s customers in choosing the fashion brand, and if brand image as a local brand will influence the buying decision. This paper uses questionnaires, interviews, and observations as its research methodology. The results show that the factors influencing buying decisions for Mint are: good quality of products in many varieties; affordable price; and attractive designs. Brand image as a local brand is accepted in the consumer’s mind as long as the product fulfills their needs in quality. It is recommended for Mint to do regular research into buying factors since fashion keeps changing, and to maintain a good brand image as a local brand. Findings are also applicable for new fashion brands, created by entrepreneurs before they start their businesses in fashion retail in Indonesia.

Abstract:
AbstractTrials in farmers' field(s) were conducted to study the usefulness of vermicompost (VC) produced from distillation waste of menthol mint (Mentha arvensis L. cv. Kushal) using earthworms (Eisenia foetida) in reducing the inputs of chemical fertilizers and improving soil health in menthol mint-based cropping systems. Results of the first trial conducted on menthol mint (sole crop) in the fields of 45 farmers clearly indicated that 75% of the chemical fertilizer inputs can be reduced by supplementing the fields with 5tha−1 of menthol mint VC leading to higher levels of profits to the farmers by significantly improving herb and oil yield (6.7 and 8.4%, respectively) compared to the full recommended dose of chemical fertilizers (NPK 75:60:60kgha−1). The second trial was conducted in the fields of six farmers adopting a menthol mint cropping system (mint–rice–wheat–mint) where significantly higher yields were recorded in plots supplemented with 5tha−1 of menthol mint VC+25% of the recommended dose of chemical fertilizers; an increase of 5.6–7.2% in mint oil and 6.6% in wheat yield over the plots receiving the full recommended dose of chemical fertilizers (NPK 75:60:60kgha−1). However, in the case of rice, the highest grain yield was observed within plots receiving the full recommended dose of chemical fertilizers. Data obtained on soil properties clearly showed that apart from enhancing the yields of crops, the integration of VC with chemical fertilizers considerably improved the soil fertility/sustainability status in terms of organic carbon, available N, P and K.

Abstract:
Medicinal plants and their derived compounds have drawn the attention of researchers due to their considerable impact on human health. Among medicinal plants, mint (Mentha species) exhibits multiple health beneficial properties, such as prevention from cancer development and anti-obesity, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and cardioprotective effects, as a result of its antioxidant potential, combined with low toxicity and high efficacy. Mentha species are widely used in savory dishes, food, beverages, and confectionary products. Phytochemicals derived from mint also showed anticancer activity against different types of human cancers such as cervix, lung, breast and many others. Mint essential oils show a great cytotoxicity potential, by modulating MAPK and PI3k/Akt pathways; they also induce apoptosis, suppress invasion and migration potential of cancer cells lines along with cell cycle arrest, upregulation of Bax and p53 genes, modulation of TNF, IL-6, IFN-γ, IL-8, and induction of senescence phenotype. Essential oils from mint have also been found to exert antibacterial activities against Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and many others. The current review highlights the antimicrobial role of mint-derived compounds and essential oils with a special emphasis on anticancer activities, clinical data and adverse effects displayed by such versatile plants.

Abstract:
A városiasodás törvényszerű következménye többek között a népsűrűség növekedése, a megnövekedett gépjárműforgalom, a zöldterületek arányának csökkenése, mely tényezők mind hozzájárulnak a városlakók egyre rosszabb egészségi állapotához.

Abstract:
At present, only one in teree Peruvians over 15 years of age performs some type of physical activity, this situation is alarming. It causes people to be prone to contracting chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, according to Alexandro Saco, director of Health Promotion of the Minsa. It should be noted that those who suffer from the aforementioned diseases are at risk by contracting covid-19. To the aforementioned, it is added that the constant exhalations due to effort during physical activity cause a more favorable environment for coronavirus infections within gyms. That is why the Peruvian Government was forced to close the gyms. However, in Peru, according to the latest IHRSA report (2019), there are 1,818 gyms and training centers, which are currently closed, affecting around 20,000 sports professionals. Based on this, “HEALTHY MIND” was born, a business idea from a group of students from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences. This team analyzed the current situation and developed a service so that people can change their lifestyle from home and have no excuses for doing any physical activity. This project consists of providing various disciplines online, by registering you will be able to access live classes, class recordings, a blog with tips for leading a healthy life and will receive weekly control from personal trainers.

Abstract:
Major positive effect on health indicators of a country is seen to arise from the increase in their income within historical perspective. But according to many studies in the literature the impact of such changes vary depending on the country's overall level of development. In terms of the positive changes over the health indicators of a country can be said to affect the developmental processes in the same way especially in developing countries. In this context, our study highlights the recent and emerging economies of two groups of countries; BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, and China) and MINT (Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Turkey). The relationship between health expenditure per capita and life expectancy at birth time and mortality rates of children under age 1 are analyzed retrospectively.

Full text
Abstract:
The heat transfer in mist cooling for low droplet density, focusing on the heat transfer characteristics, behaviors of liquid on a heating surface and measurements of liquid droplets by LDA was investigated experimentally. Steady heat transfer experiments of a copper block were conducted for mist flow of air and water in a range of air flow rate from 40 to 120 1N/min. Water flow rate was 0.3, 0.9, 1.8, 4.0 and 8.0 1/hr, respectively. Mist flow of water and air forming in a fully conical nozzle with a mixture camber was supplied on the heating surface arranged for horizontal-upward position. The critical heat flux increased with an increasing liquid flow rate. The critical heat flux decreased as the air flow rate increased. Three correlations of the mist cooling rate for non-boiling, evaporation of droplets and evaporation of the liquid film were developed with microscopic parameters of two-phase flow, respectively.
