Neves, Joana Markus Moita Monteiro. "Paradoxos do corpo feminizado: entre a luminosidade e o confinamento." Master's thesis, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/10362/130635.

Abstract:
The female body is inevitably a paradox from the moment we just interrogate it: what exactly is it? What does it mean for a body to be female? What is femaleness as an attribute? In order to proceed with this interrogation, we will start by examining the dynamics between the movements for this body’s liberation (and the transformation of this attribute) and the consequent backlash; we will then consider the body, from a philosophical standpoint, with resource to positions of deconstruction of essentialisms, as well as reflections on the experience of the lived body; we conclude with an analysis of spaces that are particularly meaningful to the understanding of this experience and to the construction of femaleness as an atrbute: food, clothes and home.
