Full textWe continue talking about Hebertien works because of their originality In this paper, we are focusing on her first masterwork in prose. The Torrent (1950) broke with the traditional forms of the French-Canadian literary panorama on different levels, producing a profound mutation in sensibility, focusing henceforth on the internal world. This analysis is interested in colour, a phenomenon anchored in the perception of François Perrault, the main character of the story. The study of perception will be carried out by a semiotic of presence because « to perceive » implies, according to Fontanille, to recognize a presence in relationship to our own. We will try to demonstrate, later, how a sensory phenomenon, in a condensed form, is connected with the somatic.

Full textResume : water, a biographic feature before being a symbolic one, will help anne hebert express her poetic and personal quest, through the mysterious link which binds it to the author. The superficial exploration of various liquid expanses and the survey of water metamorphoses in les songes en equilibre enable the poetess to analyze herself. Eager to proceed with her intimate enquiry. Influenced and transformed the watery chasm which symbolizes her unconscious. Influenced and transformed by her stay deep in the mute and icy waters of le tombeau des rois, she will later turn her novelistic and dramatic characters into the emblematic figure of the liquid abyss. But the call of life prevails : the poetess-cum-novelist and some of her characters emerge from the depths to fuse with the concrete world lit by a soft fluid light. The alliance of water and fire opens their hearts to self-sacrifice, generosity and communication

Full textThe thesis presents compared analyses of the personages of Duras and of Anne Hebert. The literary compared analysis is based on the fiction itself. The behaviors of the personages, their decisions, their choices, their psychological procedures in relation to the love, the death, and the research of the identity are at the center of this work. The principal literary works, read and analyzed are: The lover, The summer rain, Agatha, Savannah Bay, The Disease of the death, The rapture of Lol V. Stein, of Duras, as well as Aurelien, Clara, Miss and English Lieutenant, The children of the Sabbath, The wood rooms, The first garden, Anne Hebert’s Kamouraska. Full textTo extend our knowledge of the francophone world, we have brought in the same study two French expression's authors: Anne Hébert and Tahar Ben Jelloun. From the first we have studied the Sabbat's children, from the second, Moha the fool Moha the wise, in reading them we discovered a dramatic space and their functions, and characters which challenged. Characters which are a presy to positive revolt against determinant oppressions and alienations which came from our study has used spatial composantes and different characters in their talks and their actions. We have done a geographic recensement to show the realities. The revolt is seen as the authors have shown in their literature from Morocco and from Quebec

Full textThis thesis focuses on the study of dreams and recollection of dreams in Anne Hébert's novels, an important Quebecois writer. The aims of this paper are to identify a dream pattern following the importance of the oneiric phenomenon as presented in the corpus and to analyze the particularities of dream transposition into the discourse and their purpose, in order to prove the existence of a Herbertian oneiric discourse framed by the Romanesque discourse.A narrative study of the content, the narrative instance, the narrative tense and the structure of the recollection of dreams in Anne Hébert novels underlie this research and lead up to various results. Thus, the dream as manner of supernatural revelation, the premonitory dream, the dream as a way of exile, the recalling dream, the dream as a reflection of reality and imagination are all experiences that place the Hebertian character between the two of them, causing breaches into his perception of wakefulness. The Romanesque discourse shows these scissions by a wide fragmentation and through the complex relations with the oneiric discourse within the content, the narrative instance, the narrative tense and oneiric structure

Full textThe analysis of the structures of imagination in quebec's contemporary novels - since 1960 - reveals the presence of a commun mythic story ; this story is a kind of response to the identity affirmation during the quiet revolution. The examination of childhood and exile themes in a specific corpus composed by anne hebert, rejean ducharme and michel tremblay's novels - shows an original symbolic and mythic universe that however oscillate between french roots and american territorial identity. The grand mother archetype and alternate symbols of the cycle - which are represented by the gemellity and duality images - give an impulse to this story, so the tendance is going upon the "regime nocture de l'imaginaire". The images of lost paradise are counterbalanced by this symbolic. The analysis of the reception of theses novels reveals an hermeneutic circle that mythanalysis tries to find out the significative elements, so the affirmation of the original identity can be evaluated under new horizons, so the history of quebec literature. Even so, the holy aspect of mythic stories helps analysing the impact of religion in an other way of usual institution aspects

Full textBordered by the maternal one, the female identity is called in question to each crisis of life. The maternity, considered as one of these crises, can result in an impossibility to work out around maternal, as the sign the private clinic of the termination of pregnancy and infantile ill-treatment. With the place of a crossing of maternal, the suffering settles. This work proposes to analyze the incidence of maternal in the literary creation of four women writers (Mac Cullers, Hebert, Morrison, Huston). The exit of the release of maternal at the personal level marks the writing of these women: either their hero remains under the icy influence of maternal possessive, or it faces the specific crisis, while emancipant himself. The destiny of maternal points out that of the exile, connecting the four female authors. The exile can announce the change (language, of culture. . . ) but it can also remain with the state of unsatisfied running away. If the confrontation of with the maternal one is not balanced by an incomprehensible loss, then the writing becomes the sum of the female experiments. On the contrary, if the maternal one remains morbid (absence, death, ill-treatment), then the heroes choose imaginary solutions (recourse to the double, with the dream) or irreversible passages to the act (suicide, murder). The two types of writing, one marking the hero of fundamental instability and the other of sufficient bases to be maintained in spite of the crisis, account for the shelves in the crossing, which must lead to the stamping from the woman by the medium of creation
