Hedeby Hochburg, borgen i Hedeby, har fått förhållandevis lite uppmärksamhet, jämfört med själva samhället i Hedeby. Utgrävningen från 2012 har dock väckt ett intresse, med ett antal frågor som behöver besvaras. I denna uppsats analyseras jordprover som samlats under utgrävningen, för att se om de kan visa något om den kronologiska relationen mellan borgvallen och gravarna i borgen. Tre metoder användes, FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy), röntgendiffraktion (XRD) och röntgenfluorescens (XRF). Resultaten från XRF och XRD visar på en rumslig relation mellan minst en av vallens konst

Invasive ivy (Hedera spp.) has extensive impacts on Pacific Northwest urban forests, many of which are not yet fully understood. In this study of Forest Park, Portland, Oregon, I evaluated several environmental variables obtained or derived from monitoring datasets at three spatial scales to determine the following: how ivy is spatially distributed; what factors are most correlated with ivy abundance; and how ivy abundance influences shrub community composition. Of these, the CBH (circumference breast height), bark texture, abundance of H. helix and growth form were recorded. The analysis searches in John’s and Mark’s Temple cleansings for the presence of the notions of honor and shame, as Malina uses those concepts in his model. Through a variety of archaeological, historical and geographical techniques, this thesis presents an analysis of the appearance of the landscape of part of southern Northumberland at various points in the past. It also demonstrates the former landuse practices employed within the study area during those past periods, as well as making observation on the contemporary societies employing them.
