Abstract:
The Heisei era had changed to the Reiwa era in 2019. All the Japanese people entered a new phase of the Japanese imperial era. Emperor Akihito wanted to abdicate for health reasons, so the throne was replaced by emperor Naruhito. This study aims to look back at any significant events that occurred in the Heisei era. The method used is this research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collected by the literature method through several articles about the Heisi era. The results of this study indicates that overall it can be said that peace has been achieved in Japan. The Heisei Era is an era filled with economic turmoil and disasters in Japan. In addition, the Heisei era also still leaves a heavy task for the Reiwa era, that is economic improvement after the economic bubble to revive the Japanese economy as before. Heisei era is indeed full of challenges for Japan, but international confidence in Japan is very high. By advancing its technological progress, Japan managed to become the organizer of the winter olympics in 1998 and the world cup in 2002.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
This thesis extends the existing studies on Japan's image in France and Europe from the Meiji era (1868-1912). It analyzes the literary production in France, as well as some movies and comics, as they have been developping since the Heisei era (1990 and 2010). It argues that despite the progress of knowledge and attitudes, the French observer continues to view Japan, Japanese, Japanese things, from a point of view far less comprehensive and informed than critical if not quite negative. It bases its scrutiny upon the methods of literary imagology, which determines the place, role, the meaning of the representation of a country in a given work from specific features (naming, hierarchical distance, plot, personal myth)

Danesin, Maxime. Thesis, Tours, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019TOUR2007.

Full text
Abstract:
The blending of cultures has grown exponentially since the late 1980s. This phenomenon, which confirms the transition from modernity to postmodernity, affects the literary field and precipitates the collapse of the modern and national model of literature. It is then necessary to rethink the literary field, its history and its boundaries, and to forsake three notions that characterized it: essentialism, modernocentrism, and the arbitrary exclusion of whole areas of literature. This thesis participates in this effort through the exploration of European literary and cultural transfers in Japan, in archaic times and in the Heisei era (1989-2019). After a first observation of our present context, it revisits the archaic transfers between Europe and Japan, in order to undermine the foundations of modernocentrisme and essentialism, and to rethink the chronology and the evolution of transcultural exchanges between these two cultural eras. A third step consists of the study of Japanese mangaesque literature and its neomedieval imaginary; in particular, two key titles of this trend are analysed: Vinland Saga and Spice & Wolf. This transcultural and transtextual facet of contemporary literary creation illustrates the importance of extending the boundaries and defining criteria of literature. It also reflects the growing place of Japan on the literary chessboard and the role of the European Middle Ages in the re-enchantment of the world, of which postmodernity is the vector

Malinas, David Antoine. Paris 1, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007PA010297.

Full text
Abstract:

Heikes-Knapton, Sunni Marie. "Subalpine Wetlands: characterization, environmental drivers, and response to human peturbation and restoration." Thesis, Montana State University, 2009. http://etd.lib.montana.edu/etd/2009/heikes-knapton/Heikes-KnaptonS0509.pdf.

Full text
Abstract:
The subalpine region throughout the western US is increasingly pressured by land use changes. Consequences of these changes often involve major alteration to the original function of the landscape, particularly concerning wetland and riparian areas. In southwest Montana, large developments have recently been created or expanded in the subalpine environment. Wetlands in these regions bear a particularly unique structure, and often are influenced by the effects of development. The alteration to structure can result in disturbance to the original hydrological, ecological, and biogeochemical functions of wetlands. Restoration efforts attempt to mitigate for development influences, but the monitoring and success criteria do not wholly address the functional attributes of these features. At the same time, little is known about the structure of undisturbed subalpine wetlands and how environmental drivers influence the undisturbed structure and hydrological, ecological, and biogeochemical functions. Knowledge of these natural processes is necessary to ensure appropriate management decisions and future restoration success. This study examines small subalpine wetlands in an elevation range of 2256-2316 m located in southwest Montana. Study sites include two wetland types, in undisturbed and restored conditions. This research examines physical, chemical, biological, and hydrological attributes of wetlands in varying conditions, to define and compare wetland characteristics, determine primary environmental drivers of wetland ecological and biogeochemical functions, and compare response to human perturbation. Comparisons of our data indicate significant differences in all categories of parameters, and include metrics of biodiversity, primary productivity, hydrologic regime, and physical and chemical properties of the soil. Several environmental drivers are identified, with the primary driver of vegetation and redox response variables being depth to water and persistence of saturated conditions. The depressional wetland type is characterized by a distinct hydrologic regime, with these conditions being significantly related to a greater number of ecological and biogeochemical functions than the linear wetland type. Restoration data indicate that the restoration methods employed are sufficient in establishing the primary wetland characteristics used in wetland definition. However, the trajectory of restored wetlands indicates that long term recovery may result in wetlands exhibiting different structural and functional attributes than intended.
